2008 New Year Resolutions
2008-01-01 13:36:00 Photography by extranoise. Happy 2008 ! Now that we’ve covered the best posts of the past year and the fact that it’s important to set goals, I can actually share with you the resolutions that I promised to make. I’m sharing my goals to let my readers know and understand where I intend to take this blog, as well as the fact that making them public fuels my motivation and gives me an incentive to not give up. I plan to work pretty hard in 2008 and implement lots of new tactics and ideas, so here’s hoping that in another year’s time the amount of growth desired for this blog will be accomplished. So as for my goals, I found it pretty hard to set exact goals with exact numbers and values. So instead of huge, specific goals I have set plenty of smaller resolutions that will lead me to completing the bigger ones. This way I can work in small steps and not be discouraged, and actually see progress happening before my eyes. I’ll also have a more realistic... More About: New Year , Year , Resolutions

It’s Time to Upgrade to Wordpress 2.3.2
2007-12-30 21:42:00 Wordpress just recently released a new version, Wordpress 2.3.2, which fixes a security bug that can allow people to see your drafts. This can be pretty bad for some who save their best articles in drafts, or keep important information stored in draft files. Either way, if you don’t want anyone to have access to your drafts or to be able to read what they contain, then it’s best that you upgrade to 2.3.2. The folks at Wordpress call this an “urgent security release”, so maybe you shouldn’t skip this one! However, upgrading to 2.3.3 also allows you to customize DB error pages. According to Wordpress: “As a little bonus, 2.3.2 allows you to define a custom DB error page. Place your custom template at wp-content/db-error.php. If WP has a problem connecting to your database, this page will displayed rather than the default error message.” If you’re currently using Wordpress 2.3.1, then you can see the differences between it and the newest ... Make Money Online With Your Talents
2007-12-27 09:55:00 Photography by: flikr. We all have different talents and abilities, but as bloggers we must learn to recognize what we’re good at and use our unique traits to help us make money online. Obviously as bloggers we should be able to write and we should know what we’re writing about, but there is more to us than just that! Everyone has a multitude of talents, and all you’ve got to do is think about what they are and put them to use, implementing ideas no one else would think of. A huge part about making money online is being unique. Think about one of the most popular blogs in your niche, whichever one that comes to mind first. Did that blogger get successful by copying others and never doing anything new, never sharing their unique talents? Of course not. You need to separate yourself from the crowd and offer something different. Right now I challenge you to sit down and grab a pen and a piece of paper. Jot down at least ten things that you’re good at, and think ... More About: Money , Make Money , Make Money Online , Online , Talents

Wrapping Up The Year And Making Resolutions For 2008
2007-12-23 09:46:00 Photography by: Bob Jagendorf. I created this blog earlier this year with no prior knowledge, never even expecting it to get as far as it already has - and Super Blogging is still growing, and I am still learning! Things weren’t easy in the beginning, but quitters never win and winners never quit. I also never really set any true goals for what I’d like to accomplish with this blog, but with 2008 ahead that is going to change. I think goals are very important in helping you reach for and work for what you want to do, as long as you make them realistic and define them clearly. This year I have learned a lot, from starting this blog on a free Blogger.com domain service up until this very minute where Super Blogging is a self-hosted Wordpress site (thanks to the help of an extremely kind person) - and like I said above, I am still learning! I have accomplished dozens of things with this blog, but there are tons of other resolutions I’d like to make and live up to. Ove... More About: Year , Resolutions , Resolution , Wrap

Asking The Readers: How Often Should Bloggers Post?
2007-12-19 11:12:00 Photography by Picture Perfect Pose. Welcome to this week’s Asking The Readers . I invite and encourage everyone to share their response and opinions. Super Blogging has a great community and we want you to participate too, so after you’re done reading, please leave a comment and express your point of view as well! So now I want to know, how often should bloggers post? Browsing around the blogosphere, I see a lot of different thoughts on this topic. Some people love quantity and having five new posts appear in their RSS reader or inbox for them to devour each day. But others prefer quality, and they’re happy with one to four posts a week or even much less than that. There are so many opinions on this topic, and none of them are either right or wrong - but I’d like to know where the majority stands. Personally, I’m all for quality. If a blogger is putting out ten worthless posts a day, then in my opinion that’ll only drive people away instead of hel... More About: Post , Bloggers

2007-12-13 11:03:00 Computers and computer parts aren’t cheap, and if you’re a blogger then your computer is probably one of the most important items you use during the day. How To Find And Use Amazing Photos From Flickr
2007-12-12 09:38:00 Photography by: notsogoodphotography. Why You Should Use Images There are more than six reasons why you should use images in your blog posts, including the fact that images make your articles more attractive, they don’t make your blog look like a huge mass of words, they provide something nice for the reader to look at, and images can even send you search engine traffic. You now know that using images on your blog is a good thing. You’ve probably heard about it before or even tried out using images from Google, but this isn’t a very good method to practice - images you find via Google and other search engines are most likely copyrighted, which means that they belong to someone else and you don’t have the right to use them. You CAN use images on free stock photo sites, but a lot of those don’t have a very good selection. So where do most bloggers get their images from? Flickr is your perfect solution. Flickr is a site where anyone can sign up and upload ... More About: Photos , Find , Amazing
10 Ways To Create Exposure For Your Blog
2007-12-11 08:19:00 Photography by etoile. Making a blog isn’t only about writing great content. Sure, content is king, but what is it worth if no one is reading it? If you’re writing quality new articles on a daily basis, to get the most out of them you’ve got to make sure they can be seen. Right after maintaining great content, getting exposure for your blog is the most important. So what can you do to get people coming to your blog and noticing it? 1. Comment on other blogs. Being community involved is a very important thing. If you drop by other blogs, especially ones related to yours or in your niche, and leave a quality comment that adds to the discussion, the author of that blog will surely notice what you have to say and visit your own site in return. And besides the blog author, it’s pretty likely that several of their other commentators will see the great comment you left and wonder who wrote it, visiting your site to find out. Caroline Middlebrook has written a great ... More About: Blog , Exposure , Create

WidgetBucks Pays… But They’re Still A Scam!
2007-12-05 07:16:00 I recently wrote about how WidgetBucks is a scam. Now, it turns out that they HAVE paid people, and written about payments on their blog. So you must think that I’m feeling pretty stupid now for accusing them of being a scam - but I’m not. Just because a program has sent out payments does not mean that they’re 100% legit. They pay people to convince you they’re trustworthy. There has been word going around lately that WidgetBucks is a scam. But most people think that once everyone has received their payments, a program is valid. That’s not always the case. WidgetBucks has paid their members to convince everyone that they ARE a trustworthy company and instill that in your heads, while they’re still saving loads of money by removing earnings from people’s accounts and/or banning them for no reason at all. Yes, they do remove their members’ earnings. It’s not only happened to me, but several other people. You log on one day and find... More About: Scam
Maintain A Site For A Month And Sell It For Thousands
2007-12-04 10:48:00 Photography by: krisdecurtis. I recently read a great post over at BloggingFingers.com, challenging you to build a niche site in December and sell it in January. Before you snort and dismiss this idea as impossible, let’s look it over first. The main idea is to buy a domain and start a site (which will cost you less than ten dollars if you already have hosting) and then promote affiliate products on it. Since it’s December, now is the time of the year where people will be buying gifts and spending the most money - why not take advantage of that? As a blogger, you can easily start a site and begin making money off of people’s Christmas shopping! For example, your niche site could promote books, acne cleansers, or even Samsung HDTVs. You could use Amazon.com and do so; for you receive a percentage of each sale that you help bring about. To profit the most, you’re going to want to promote items that are in demand and relatively expensive so you get high commissio... More About: Site , Sell , Month , Mont
Get iPod Accessories and Protection!
2007-12-01 07:16:00 The iPod, the iPhone, and everything “i” have completely taken over. If you don’t have one for yourself, then I can bet that you know at least several people who do. iPods quickly became the most popular MP3 player out there due to their look, feel, and design - and of course everyone would like to own an iPhone. But if you have one of these expensive toys, then you can’t risk not protecting it. If you’re looking for a way to protect your iPod, MP3 players, cell phones, games, and more, then PDOstore.com is exactly what you’re looking for. You can find a case or screen protector for almost anything, and using PDOstore.com and their easy navigability, that won’t be hard to do. In fact, PDOstore.com has even won the 2007 iPhone Case of the Year award for their PDO TopSkin for iPhone. And that’s far from being their only great item! Besides protection for all your gadgets, you can also get other cool things like iPod accessories. You can... More About: Ipod , Accessories

5 Things That Make Your Readers Scramble
2007-11-29 10:22:00 Photo by Pensiero. I’ve come across a lot of blogs in the time I’ve been in this business, and while many of them are great, quite a few aren’t. There are some qualities a blog can have that causes no one to want to read it and everyone to run away shielding their eyes. What if your blog has one of those lethal qualities, preventing you from success? 1. You Have Poor Writing Quality. If you’re going to run a website, you need to be able to write, and that is that. You need to capitlize words that need to be capitalized, spell words correctly, and use proper grammar and punctuation where required. Proofreading is always essential - even the best of us make mistakes! If this is a quality you are struggling with, I recommend that you read 10 Tips to Writing a Successful Blog Post. 2. You Sport An Ugly Design. Your design is what makes that essential first impression. If I come across your blog and think it looks ugly, I won’t torture my eyes - instead, I... How Long Have You Been Blogging?
2007-11-28 09:52:00 Once again, I have recently held another poll here at Super Blogging , asking How long have you been blogging? This was another thing I was interested in discovering about my readers because you need to know who you’re writing for. Should I write mainly for beginners, or can I feel free to cover more advanced topics and define the basic steps less? While I think it’s important to write for everyone who is interested in your niche and could possibly read your site, there are some statistics you’ve got to know and understand. 50% of voters said they’ve been blogging over a year. That surprises me, because I haven’t even blogging for a year yet and it seems like a lot of the advice I offer on this blog would already be known those experts. However, the second highest amount of voters told me they’ve been blogging less than three months (27%). The rest of the votes were split up between people who have blogging for three months to a year (23%). So, eit... More About: Long
Gain Traffic and Make Money Online by Using Forums
2007-11-27 09:27:00 Photography by gaurang. If you’ve tried everything imaginable to increase your site’s traffic, including even the tiniest little ideas, but you are still not getting the amount of visitors you were hoping for, then you might want to try forums. A forum is basically an online discussion group, focused around one niche. The members of a forum can make posts and discuss everything related to their niche, ask and answer questions, and even private message each other. A forum is like a blog for the people! For example, take Digital Point Forums . This is a forum I actively participate in the most, and it is for webmasters. There are separate boards in which you can discuss search engines, SEO, link building, domain names, HTML & web design, and a lot more. The first thing you need to do is go to your favorite search engine and enter “[YOUR NICHE] forums”. For example, you might enter webmaster forums, technology forums, or even gardening forums. WidgetBucks is a Worthless SCAM!
2007-11-26 09:28:00 Surprise, surprise… It’s all a scam! WidgetBucks.com, the new competition for Google Adsense? Originally I thought so, but maybe not. Their motto is Ads suck, ours don’t. Okay, so maybe their ads don’t suck the least bit, but the way they run their company surely does. Lately WidgetBucks have been realized to be worthless scammers, pretty freaking sneaky, and downright thieves. If you think I’m exaggerating, then you are DEAD WRONG. I am not the only one who thinks so. I have only been a member of WidgetBucks for a few days but have already been cheated by them. Just who do they think they are, anyway? Maybe they’re letting it go to their heads that people are saying they are the next Adsense. I joined WidgetBucks for many reasons. The main one was because Adsense wasn’t making me much money when I had it installed, so I thought I would give WidgetBucks a go, hearing how their clicks can average around $0.50 each! My second reason was becau... More About: Scam , Wort

Make Your Christmas This Year a Bright One!
2007-11-24 06:51:00 If you celebrate Christmas , then you most likely love Christmas lights and their beautiful colors. I know I do. They’re pretty much a tradition and make the holidays glow with happiness. But if you’re using the average, incandescent lights, then you’re really missing out on something a lot better! LED Christmas lights use 90% less energy, have around a 50,000 hour bulb life, are better for the environment, are safer because they don’t get as hot, and are very durable and not as easily broken. They are also less costly and save you extra money because they take a load off your electric bill as opposed to using incandescent lights. If you’re using the average Christmas lights, you might want to consider switching this season. You can get any of the LED Christmas lights you will ever need at HolidayLEDs.com and for such a decent price, too! I’m all for helping saving money and the environment at the same time, and I’m sure you are too. It&rsquo... More About: Bright , Make , Year

The #1 Reason Why You Will Fail As A Blogger
2007-11-21 09:21:00 Photography by smiles4angels. Winners never quit and quitters never win! And you want to be the winner. The #1 reason why people fail at blogging is because they simply give up. A lot of the time blogging is made out to be the “instant way to make thousands of dollars” without doing any work. Well guess what? That’s not true. People look for an easy way out and when they realize they’re not going to get it, they quit. But nothing comes without a price. If you always quit, you’re never going to get anything in life. Everyone has to work at blogging. Great content must be written on an every-other-day or daily basis, and it must be kept up to par. Designs must be constantly worked on and tweaked. Comments and emails must be replied to all the time. There’s even a lot of planning involved. All of the above, and tons more, must be done to be successful. Blogging is not a get-rich-quick scheme! CashQuests.com Sold for $15,000!
More articles from this author:2007-11-20 11:40:00 I’ve been reading CashQuests.com now for many, many months. It was one of the first make money online sites I ever came across, back in the very beginning of 2007. I have always loved and appreciated Kumiko’s style of writing. She has a very direct and blunt approach that so many people just couldn’t resist. In fact, I included her in my article titled 3 Bloggers You Should Strive To Be More Like because she speaks her mind and that’s a good quality to have! Now I have noticed that CashQuests.com just recently sold for $15,000. That is such a fantastic price to receive for a site! Of course, CashQuests.com is very valuable and has a lot of great content and a good reputation. I think how Kumiko branded her blog was magnificent. At some point in the future, I plan to start new blogs that will be intended for selling (because I doubt I will sell this one).
