If you’re a normal blogger or website owner, you’re going to want more traffic. You might even search all over the web for great ways to generate or increase your traffic. I have compiled a list of 75 ways to increase your site’s traffic. This list is different from others because it contains simple, original ideas and off-the-wall, unique ideas. Write more content. If you want traffic, you’ve got to write content. People will not visit your site if you don’t write a decent amount of good quality content, and new visitors definitely won’t come back. So keep writing great posts! Have a good design and layout. All in One SEO Pack - You Need This!
2007-07-17 15:45:00
Lately I have told myself I need to get up off my butt and do some work on this blog. I’ve always been a lazy person, and I know that just won’t do. So I’m going to try to work harder. Well, last night I got all freaked out over search engine optimization. It’s not something I’ve ever focused on a whole lot, even thought I know it’s extremely important. I’ve been installing a lot of plugins these past couple days, as you might have noticed, so I went ahead and got a plugin that is perfect for my search engine optimization. That plugin is the All in One SEO Pack . It absolutely perfect. After you have it installed and activated you just go to your Wordpress dashboard then go to the Options tab, and then there is a sub-tab for All In One SEO. It lets you type your home page’s title, your home description, and your home keywords. On the ‘write post’ page when you’re creating a post it lets you select the title for the...
Take a Break with Games
2007-07-17 12:57:00
I figured it’s time for another post containing fun games. No matter how much I love blogging, I can get sick and tired of it. Sometimes I just want to take a break, and I can often solve my frustration and calm my nerves with a few quick games. I have a whole folder in my bookmarks of “fun stuff” and I’d like to share a couple with you today. Fish Tales is a cute little game that has relaxing music (or at least, in my opinion). One of the best things is, you get to eat fish that are littler than you are. But beware, stay away from those whoppers that aren’t so small, because they’ll eat you (which won’t be so good for your frustration)! This game is fun but the only bad thing is, it’ll take a long time to complete and you can’t save it. Okay, okay, this game is so far from soothing, it can actually be downright stressful at times. But Noah’s Ark is still a very fun game and if you’re just trying to have a good ti...

Review of the AntiSocial Plugin
2007-07-17 02:45:00
The AntiSocial plugin is quite the opposite of how the name makes it sound. After the AntiSocial plugin is installed Wordpress shows a line of buttons at the bottom of your posts that let the reader submit and save it to popular social websites (ones that you choose to appear!) To see an example, view the bottom of this post. Readers can click one of the buttons and are taken to submit your post to sites like Reddit, StumbleUpon, Digg, Netscape, and any others of your choosing. Well, what’s so great about that? When your post is submitted it will be shown on these sites that have high traffic. On many your post will be voted on and if it gets a lot of votes it can be seen by enormous amounts of people and you could have new loyal readers, or at least a large spike in traffic. This is always a good thing. If you do not have a plugin installed that lets your readers submit and save your site, what are the chances that they will go out of their way and do it? With this plugin all...

Awarding Thoughtful Bloggers
2007-07-16 08:00:00
Today I was over at Mark’s blog, Me And My Drum, and I noticed that I had been awarded the Thoughtful Blogg er Award, which is for bloggers that think of others and are generally thoughtful. Thank you! The exact description for the Thoughtful Blogger Award is this: “For those who answer blog comments, emails, and make their visitors feel at home on their blogs. For the people who take others feelings into consideration before speaking out and who are kind and courteous. Also for all of those bloggers who spend so much of their time helping others bloggers design, improve, and fix their sites. This award is for those generous bloggers who think of others.” Thank you very much! I try to be, and hope to be, a thoughtful blogger. This award means a lot to me. So now I would like to pass this award along to five bloggers even more deserving than I am! Blogging Tips Make Money Online with Court People You’ll See in Hell Cash Bulge Morphed Happy blogging! There were some problems with the blog but I’m happy to tell you that everything is fixed now. Four new posts I’d made weren’t showing up, so that’s why you hadn’t seen any new content. But they’re up now and it’s better. If you ever see anything else wrong with this blog, please leave a comment letting me know. I will also get a contact form up soon which you can use. Now that everything is fixed, I will get back into the normal posting drill! Thank you for your patience. Share This

I’m getting SICK of it
2007-07-12 19:24:00
I’m getting absolutely sick and tired of people thinking it’s just fine to take my content. This happened just a few days ago, and I wasn’t happen about it. Now I don’t even know what to say. Don’t people know that plagiarism is illegal? Taking other people’s words and claiming them for your own is illegal - even if it is online! Over at Rediffiland, a place to have your own special web space and such (I think it’s for Indian bloggers), on one person’s page they copied and pasted, word for word, my article about blog top lists. And you know what? They didn’t even give me a link back. Their page was full of “their information” about getting traffic and such. But they stole my article without giving any credit. Nothing. I wouldn’t have even found out about it unless I’d received the pingback from the the ViralTags they did on the same page. Hah. Clever. Basically, I’m tired of it. What’s wrong w...

Super Blogging is a DoFollow Blog!
2007-07-12 04:12:00
I’ve been meaning to do this for some time now and I finally put off the procrastination. Super Blog ging is now a dofollow blog! I have another thing to mark off my list of to-dos after installing this plugin. What is dofollow? Basically it is the opposite of nofollow. If links have “rel=nofollow” in them, the link will not be counted by Technorati or Google. Links that are follow and nofollow both look the same, but they are treated differently. The nofollow one doesn’t count, you might say. It won’t improve your rankings and you won’t get PageRank juice from it. Automatically this blog sets a nofollow command to all the links in the comments. If you’ve left a comment on this blog, and put in your website address, it was automatically set as a nofollow. But not anymore! Read on… What does installing this plugin have to do with anything? Now that I have installed the dofollow plugin, the links to your website on the comments you leave...

Wordpress Polls Plugin Reviewed
2007-07-11 12:37:00
Yesterday I installed a plugin on this blog which allows me to create a poll (or polls). It’s very easy to use, offers a lot of options, and looks great! The WP-Polls plugin is great for any type of blogger. No matter what your niche, if you have something quick to ask your readers or need some information to improve your blog, this gets it done. When creating a poll you enter your question and the answers voters can select between. You can also set it so multiple answers can be selected, and up to how many. You can set a start and end date for the poll, or make it so it never expires. You can fully customize how your polls look, between their colors, size, fonts, and how answers and results are sorted. You get to decide who votes and how the voters are logged so they can’t vote over and over and ruin your statistics. If your Wordpress blog allows the use of widgets, then this will be extra easy. You just activate the plugin and then put the widget in your blog where you...

Success with StumbleUpon
2007-07-09 13:08:00
I was simply amazed with all the traffic I got from StumbleUpon yesterday with my post, 5 Helpful Sites You Should Be Aware Of. And I’m still receiving so many hits from that article! I got on and I went to my Live plugin and saw all the views that were coming referred by StumbleUpon, and it was for an article I didn’t stumble. Well, someone else had stumbled it, and 40 other people had rated it a thumbs up! Then later on I noticed hits coming from Popurls. My article had been featured under the StumbleUpon section, which just amazed me (I still consider myself quite the amateur blogger). I just started using StumbleUpon again after I’d given up on it a long time ago, but now I see how much it can help getting traffic. I’ve gotten more hits today than I’ve ever gotten before. I’ve also had more people online at one time than ever before - 139!!! After I discovered how well that article was doing with StumbleUpon, I added a Google Adsense block to ...

In Blogging, Sometimes You Have to Handle Rude People
2007-07-08 12:59:00
In every job, in everything you do, there will always be someone who is rude. That is the same for blogging. I’ve recently had an unpleasant experience with a person - I will not name any names. But when you come across a situation like this, you need to try your best to handle it properly. I hope I handled it properly. Pretty much I discovered someone who had copied one of my articles and pasted it on their blog. This person wasn’t completely wrong though - at the end of their post, they had written “Original post by Tay” with a link to me. However, my problem was that they had reposted my whole article in its entirety. It’s not like they had stolen it completely. I posted a comment on their post (my comment never would have gotten posted, because it had to be approved first). I said something along the lines of, “I know you linked to me and gave me credit at the very end of the post, but I would appreciate if you did not have the article up in i...

I’ve Broken Technorati’s Top 10K
2007-07-08 08:30:00
I’m very happy to announce I’ve broken Technorati’s top 10K. At the time of writing my authority is 378, my rank is 9,780. There are 562 links to Super Blogging. But while it is great, it is a bittersweet victory. Why? I did not earn this myself, from hard work and determination. Most of my links are from viral linking trains (ViraLink and ViralTags). While many are genuine links to my blog and my posts, a lot are not. While I love being under 10,000 in my ranking, sometimes I just wish I could see how long it would have taken me to achieve that on my own. Another downside, besides it not being completely honest, is punishment from Google. Hundreds, maybe even thousands of bloggers participated in the viral trains, ViralTags especially. Google cannot punish them all (can they?) but it still leaves me worried. If your links are not genuine it can end up damaging you in the long run, something I didn’t think of before. But I hope everything turns out okay for t...

Join Communities on MyBlogLog
2007-07-07 13:13:00
If you’ve been reading lately you might know that I’ve written an article on MyBlogLog before, found here. It’s about using MBL effectively, and talks about visiting sites with the recent reader widget installed, having a very noticeable icon, and joining communities. Now I’d like to talk more about joining communities. I have been joining 15 communities a day (or I try), and this creates so much exposure for me. When you join a community on MyBlogLog, it lists you as a member of that community as your icon and it links to your profile. If people see your icon in the community and click on it, they’ll be taken to your profile, and all they have to do then is click through to your site! I’m very happy to announce that MyBlogLog is now in my top referrers for traffic. Many of the people who visit this blog get here from seeing me on MBL!! If you want that kind of traffic and exposure, you’ve got to join 15 communities a day (I would join more ...

5 Helpful Sites You Should Be Aware Of
2007-07-06 13:02:00
There are so many sites out there that are helpful tools, and I have plenty of them in my bookmarks! However, today I will introduce you to five of the websites I have favorited for quick access, and I hope at least a couple of them will be useful to you. 1.) JotForm - This site is a tool for an easy form builder. You can make contact forms, satisfaction surveys, job applications, time sheets, and party RSVP’s, just to name a few. You can also use the blank form and mold it into anything you want, and have it include dropdown menus, checkboxes, file uploaders, buttons, text, and more. In your creation you can add a captcha, a password box, birthdate picker, and dozens more. Using JotForm, you can create almost any kind of form or survey imaginable. It’s a pretty handy tool, especially if you need to make something for your website. 2.) Alphabetize - I found this one over at MAMD. You can paste any list into it and it will arrange every item to alphabetical order. It ...

Need Free Images for Your Blog Posts?
2007-07-03 13:05:00
Well-placed images in your blog posts draw the attention of your readers and make you look professional. Placing too many images is just as bad as placing too few (I’m worse with the latter). If your post is short, you’ll probably need no more than one picture, and sometimes none is fine. If you have a very long post, you can break it up and make it more interesting and less boring for your readers by inserting a couple of images. But where do you get those images? Sure, you can find something off Google Images . But you don’t really own those pictures. To avoid all trouble, it’s best if you get free pictures from stock photography indexes. The images are usually professional looking and top quality. Some of them you can pay for, but many are free. And using the free images from stock photography is completely fine. You will never run into trouble because you don’t own the picture and have the rights to it. They’re yours to use! The two I recom...

Feed Reader Amounts Dropping
2007-07-01 21:27:00
I know the amounts of readers in a feed is supposed to fluctuate, sometimes more than normal. But is it supposed to… constantly decrease? On June 27 I had 50 readers of the Super Blogging feed. The next day, that dropped to 45. On June 29, I was at 42. Now I’m at 34 subscribers. I wanted to know if it’s natural for reader amounts of a feed to go down like this, without also going back up. Is it because my content isn’t as good as usual (I know I’ve been slacking a little), or is this normal? The weird thing is, I just added the “subscribe to the feed” section in the top of the sidebar when my reader amounts started going down. That’s the opposite of what should have happened. So I don’t know what else I can do. Perhaps I can tack a little “subscribe” message to the bottom of each post, and hope that will do me some good. Has this ever happened to you, and if so, what did you do about it? By the way, happy July!

Subscribe to Comments Plugin
2007-06-30 00:15:00
I’ve just installed and activated a new plugin for this blog; it’s called Subs cribe to Comm ents . This is a plugin that lets commentators on Super Blogging check a box before commenting. By checking this box, you will receive future comments on that post by subscription to your email. This helps to you to keep up with discussion on any certain post, or see replies to your comment. It’s very helpful! For example, if you make a comment on a post asking a question, you may want to subscribe to that post so you’ll have the answers come directly to your email inbox. Or if there is an informative post and you want to receive all the discussion, there’s another reason to check the box. OR, if you have a blog of your own, you may want this very popular plugin. It helps to “foster a community around your blog by encouraging commentators to come back and stay engaged in the dialog”, according to the plugin page. You can even view a list of who has subsc...

Google Ads with Rounded Corners
2007-06-28 21:00:00
First and foremost, get a free spot in my blogroll by commenting on THIS POST *click* I was over at ProBlogger and came across a post that informed me of a new option Googl e has given its publishers: your Adsense ads can now have square edges, slightly rounded, or very rounded. Click here to see previews of the three different ad border styles. I think it’s great that Google is giving Adsense publishers more choices in the look and feel of the ads they run. A selection of different border types is not huge a difference, but it never hurts. However, when I use Adsense, I blend the ads into my site and you cannot see the borders at all, so these differently shaped edges would not matter for me. But I can see how this will be very nice for some people whose ads are not completely blended. More options never hurt anybody, and it’s not something to complain about, even if I won’t be using it! What do YOU think about the new slightly rounded and very rounded edge options...

Think Before You Publish
2007-06-28 17:51:00
I just came across an article on Shankar Ganesh’s tech blog. It lists 11 things to do before you hit the publish button. That post really set me to thinking, because sometimes I’ll just write up a post, edit the timestamp, and then publish it to be posted up on the blog later. I don’t usually give a second thought (when I really should give a third, fourth, or fifth!) But after reading Shankar’s article, I’ve realized that not doing certain things before I publish can fatally cost me. And if you’re making the same mistakes as I am, it will cost you too! For example, sometimes I don’t even read over my post a second time, and I don’t exactly spell check as I should. If a post is full of grammatical and spelling errors, or is just awkward and doesn’t make sense, it’s a big loss. Even if the idea of the post is genius, it will suffer if it’s full of mistakes. You may lose visitors and your post will not be linked to very...

First and foremost, get a free spot in my blogroll by commenting on THIS POST *click* I’ve always known that MyBlogLog is a good way to draw attention to your blog and bring in new traffic, but I never realized it was this good! I used to just visit other blogs who had the ‘recent visitors’ MBL widget and hoped someone was interested in my icon (which used to be, mind you, a face) and clicked on it. Well, now I know how to use MBL properly, and you should too! First of all, if you want to be noticed on people’s blogs under the ‘recent readers’ widget, you’ve got to make your icon stand out! So many people use a picture of their face or even someone else’s face. But no matter how pretty the face is, it’s not going to draw as many eyes as a bright avatar that just pops out at you. My avatar is brightly colored with polka dots! And I’ve noticed other effective icons that are just brightly colored and say the name of the blo...

While some of you may already be in on Squidoo and using it to your advantage, I didn’t pay any attention at all to Squidoo until just a few days ago, when I read this post. Did I Mention Super Blogging is 3 Months Old?
2007-06-23 06:29:00
Get a spot in my blogroll! Read on… You heard right, Super Blogg ing is three months old! Our birthday was June 16. I’ve been through a lot of ups and downs, but thankfully I’m still here, and I’m here to stay. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ve done my total best over these three months. I’ve been lazy a lot of the time. I should have been writing more content, commenting other blogs, working on SEO more, etc.  These next three months I will strive to do so much better! I’m very happy that this blog is three months old now, because that opens up a lot more money-making opportunities for me and makes Super Blogging look a lot more serious. It only goes up from here! I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me since the first day this blog began. There are too many names to list, but you all know who you are.
