10 Reasons Why a Blog is Better Than a Website
2008-02-25 07:11:00
This is a post from SuperBlog gingTips.com, a make money online blog. Photo credits: jurvetson. So many people wonder whether they should start their online hobby or business as a blog or a static website. The two have many differences, but I honestly believe that in most cases a person should start a blog instead of a website. Some still remain unconvinced, especially since blogs are newer on the scene. However, these are the reasons why I think a dynamic blog is better than a static website. 1. Blogs are easier to setup and manage. A blog can be installed with Wordpress, the best blogging platform and my choice, in five minutes. You don’t have to get up close and personal with coding it, all of the core files are already there for you and all you have to do is upload them and create a database (which takes two seconds). You can find an amazingly beautiful theme or design, upload it in one minute, and if you want you can easily tweak it. You can login to the user-friendly das...

Bending the Web: Become Popular in 2 Months
2008-02-18 08:26:00
This is a post from SuperBloggingTips.com, a make money online blog. This is a guest post by Robojiannis. Robojiannis (also known as Jiannis Sotiropoulos) is a cyberspace student, lover and inhabitant. He expects anytime now, to see his keyboard becoming an extension of his fingers. He constantly explores the real and cyberworld, believing in the free flow of data and the power of the user. On October 1st and for two months (until December 11th) I started writing a theoretical approach on the attention economy of social networks. The research did not concentrate on a specific social network, it just investigated the fundamental structure variables of social network in general. After finishing, I noticed that a practical study concentrating on a particular group was required to check the validity of my theoretical model. So on December 11th I started a brand new blog, without any prior active experience in any social networks. My purpose was to see to what extend could my theory be a...

Asking The Readers: Fixed or Fluid Designs?
2008-02-17 10:51:00
This is a post from SuperBloggingTips.com, a make money online blog. Welcome to Asking The Readers ! You are invited and encouraged to share your responses and opinions. Super Blogging has a fantastic community full of friendly and wise readers - so don’t be afraid to read the post and the other comments, and then share your own thoughts and ideas. We love hearing what you have to say! This time around I’d like to discuss two popular types of designing a page: with a fluid layout, or a fixed layout. A fixed layout is created by specifying the main wrapper to an immovable width or a certain amount of pixels, so the page will be one size no matter what resolutions it’s viewed in. Super Blogging is a fixed design, and so is John Chow. A fluid layout is created by not specifying a wrapper width or using percentages, which means the content will fill the entire page and stretch out to fit the whole screen, no matter what its size is. GrayBit.com is an example of a fluid des...

Monetize Your Audience Using PlaceMyProduct.com
2008-02-14 06:17:00
This is a post from SuperBloggingTips.com, a make money online blog. There are new services that help you monetize your site and sell advertising that are popping up all the time. PlaceMyProduct.com is one of those services - but this time, it’s more unique than others and offering something new. Simply putting it, PlaceMyProduct.com is a site where you can place your products or advertising opportunities, and the highest binner on your auction wins. But there’s a bit more to it than just that. “Have you ever sold an ad and wondered if the price was too low and you could have earned more? You probably could have earned more. Have you ever tried to sell an ad and there were no takers? That probably means your price was too high. PlaceMyProduct.com eliminates this guessing game and helps you achieve ad price parity.” Product placers can sell almost anything via PlaceMyProduct.com. You can sell your advertising blocks, sponsored reviews, text link ads, banner o...

Guest Blog on SuperBloggingTips.com
2008-02-12 09:42:00
This is a post from SuperBlog gingTips.com, a make money online blog. You heard right, Super Blogging is taking in guest posters! This is a rare chance for you to get traffic and a lot more by exposing yourself to a whole new audience and all of our visitors and RSS subscribers. There’s nothing to lose and everything to gain, and apart from the exposure, there’s even a small prize - read on. First of all, there are a few rules. The post should be at least 300 words long, and it can contain images as long as you don’t violate copyright with those, provide credit where necessary, and as long as they look okay with the design. Also, you should write up an ‘about the author’ section at the top or bottom of the post that’s no more than a few sentences long and contains a link to your blog (and RSS feed if you like) to give yourself credit and a backlink. Obviously, the topic of the article you write should relate to this blog so just use your common se...

Track Your Crawl Rate With SEO Meter
2008-02-11 09:10:00
This is a post from SuperBloggingTips.com, a make money online blog. As you probably know by now, I enjoy tools that help me figure out how I’m doing with different aspects of my blog. That’s why I love SEO Meter so much! Track ing and measuring your site’s crawl rate is important, but often times it’s something webmasters overlook or don’t pay attention to. This SEO tool can help you with determining your crawl rate, and it’s one you’re definitely going to want to try out and use often - plus, it’s free! This free SEO tool monitors how frequently Google crawls your site or blog, and the information is presented in attractive and easy-to-read graphs and charts. Your crawl rate is extremely important because it has to do with the search engine viewing you as a trusted source. The more often your site or page is crawled, the more it’s trusted and the faster you’ll get indexed. By tracking your site’s statistics with SEO...

StumbleUpon is THE Favorite Social Media Site
2008-02-10 08:50:00
This is a post from SuperBloggingTips.com, a make money online blog.In my latest Asking the Readers post, I wanted to know what your favorite social media site is. Social media is a huge part of blogging and one of the largest and most powerful ways to get new visitors and more traffic. Successful use of social media can result in thousands upon thousands of visitors. There are pros and cons to this traffic (such as the fact that it doesn’t convert to loyal readers well at all), but obviously, no blogger wants to miss out on the benefits. And since social media is one of the most important parts of blogging, I had to ask what YOUR favorite site is to promote your blog - whether it be Digg, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Twitter, Sphinn, Reddit, Mixx, Blogging Zoom, or something else - and for what reasons. We all have different results with different sites, so this was definitely an interesting project with many enlightening answers. Speaking of those answers, let’s take a look...

Make Money Online with SponsoredReviews.com
2008-02-07 12:04:00
This is a post from SuperBloggingTips.com, a make money online blog. Lately I’ve been using Sponsored Reviews to make money online. I know that before I have talked about cutting out the middle man - and for good reasons. By cutting out the middle man you have to have to follow another site’s rules on the reviews you write while they take a cut of your pay. So instead, you should also offer private advertising opportunities on your blog, and let people pay you directly via Paypal. That way your advertisers save some money and you get 100% of the profits, while setting your own rules and prices. However, there’s one problem with that. You’re missing the marketplace. Most sites that manage paid reviews have a marketplace so advertisers can find you. By running the advertising privately, you don’t have that exposure. I can’t stress enough that you shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket, so instead, run your own advertising and sign up on t...

Are Audio Ads the Next Big Thing?
2008-02-04 04:03:00
This is a post from SuperBloggingTips.com, a make money online blog. Photo credits: hundrednorth. Audio ads have been storming through the blogosphere lately, and almost everyone has been talking about them. The main question people ask is if they are worth it, or if they work. There are pros and cons to everything, including audio ads - and if you should use them really depends on the kind of site you’re running. Basically these ads are a 5-second audio clip that plays whenever someone visits your site. Because of this, you are paid for every single visitor, 100% of the time. This is very different from advertising networks such as Adsense, which are shown on your page but require someone to click on them for you to be paid. With audio ads, every visitor grows your income and helps you monetize your site - not just a select few. However, if you’re running a professional site or one that’s never supposed to normally have audio, then this type of advertising might ...

We’re past a month into the year 2008 , which is a great time to look over our blogging goals and resolutions and see how much we’ve accomplished and how we’re doing so far. It’s easy to get distracted and completely forget about goals, but if you do checkups every now and then to remind yourself, you’ll be ahead of even your own expectations before you know it. Let’s take a look at my New Year resolutions. I wanted to work on increasing subscribers, guesting posting more often, building my communities, networking, commenting, getting into a regular posting schedule, building backlinks, working on SEO, learning code, and of course more make money online tactics. I set plenty of goals to keep myself busy this year and to pose a challenge, but not enough to be simply overwhelming. After doing a quick evaluation, I believe I am doing okay but there is d...

If you have a blog, I’m sure you want to get things done without wasting time and have plenty of profits and benefits from the effort you put in. But sometimes we can find it hard to be productive and constantly put out great content and promote our blogs. We get wrapped up in reading other sites, playing online games, and checking our statistics too much - along with dozens of other non-productive things we do on a daily basis. Wasting time is very easy to do, but if you want to work on being more productive, then MeasureProductivity .com is for you. They not only have some great articles on how to increase productivity, but they have some helpful productivity software as well. Find Ideas for Posts by Using Forums

This is a post from SuperBloggingTips.com, a make money online blog. Photo credits: psd. All communities and forums have so much potential to help you grow your blog. Previously I discussed how you can gain traffic and make money using forums. If you post on forums that are in your niche by answering questions and helping others, then not only are you building your name and your brand to be a trustworthy source, but you’re also probably increasing your readerbase and exposing your blog to a new audience. Getting your blog out there is a good thing, but when the traffic from that forum comes in, you’re going to want to have great posts to show those new visitors as well. Luckily, forums can do much more besides driving traffic and helping to promote your blog. They also contain an insane amount of information that can inspire you and give you tons of ideas for writing articles for your blog. Even better yet, forums are full of questions. By reading forums in your niche a...

A Truly Free Credit Report
2008-01-26 09:13:00
This is a post from SuperBloggingTips.com, a make money online blog. You’ve probably seen plenty of “free credit score” or “free credit report” sites out there, but the fact is, many of them usually aren’t free at all. They claim to give you a free credit report, which they do. But then later on you can be charged with hidden fees that you never signed up for. If you want to avoid that type of scam but still get a free credit report, then Credit Karma is the site for you! Credit Karma provides its users with free credit scores, tools to track their scores, and special pricing and benefits. It is different from many other sites in the market because it actually offers 100% free credit reports with no strings attached or any hidden payments. Credit Karma pays for the credit scores using its advertisers’ sponsorships, while still maintaining a TRUSTe privacy policy. There’s even a cool part of the site called Karma Offers, where the cons...

This is a post from SuperBlogging Tips.com, a make money online blog. Photo credits: twoblueday. There’s a lot that’s been going on here at Super Blogging lately (and still a lot more planned), as well as elsewhere around the blogosphere. So I thought I’d fill you in, just in case anything has been missed. First off, there has recently been a Super Blogging group writing project underway where you can submit up to three of your articles that relate to blogging in some way. Then, I will take all of the quality articles and link to them in a resource that’ll be helpful for all bloggers - which also helps you by getting a free backlink and traffic. The group writing project’s deadline was yesterday, January 22, but if you’ve written an exceptional article that you think would help others that read the resource, you can still submit it to be considered until the resource itself is published. The second thing going on here at this moment is actually qu...

10 Ways To Be A Successful Long-Term Blogger
2008-01-17 11:53:00
This is a post from SuperBloggingTips.com, a make money online blog. Photo credits: twoblueday. After a certain period of time, you might experience blogging burnout. Everyone goes through it at some point, and how you handle it determines if you will be a successful blogger in the long-term or not. Blogging burnout can include losing hope, running out of ideas, or even simply a lack of interest. You’re not going to make money online and be successful by just quitting and giving up, because that is the main reason why bloggers fail. Instead, you need to learn how to conquer your setbacks if you ever want to get anywhere. 1. Choose a topic you enjoy and know a lot about. Think about it. Blogging takes plenty of effort and writing about the niche you have chosen. To keep this up and not lose interest, you’re going to need to write about something you like. And to be able to continuously produce content, you need a topic where you won’t run out things to write about....

Group Writing Project: Articles About Blogging
2008-01-15 21:46:00
This is a post from SuperBlogging Tips.com, a make money online blog. You might remember the last group writing project, back in November. Basically I asked all my readers to share with me their best articles on any topic involving blogging, and I compiled those articles into one very helpful resource. That resource got a lot of views, and still does. It sends plenty of information-hungry visitors to the sites those articles are found on, so not only do these group writing projects help pull in traffic, but they send that traffic to YOU. So I would now like to compose another list that links out to the best blogging articles. Blogging is a very broad topic, so your article can be about many things. Some suggestions are: starting a blog, creating a design or theme, generating traffic to a blog, creating exposure or backlinks, search engine optimization, increasing productivity, improving your writing skills, earning money with a blog, social media, networking, and bookmarking use, in...

Why I’m Using Entrecard
2008-01-13 09:22:00
This is a post from SuperBloggingTips.com, a make money online blog. Entrecard is a site that allows you to network with other bloggers. You add a 125×125 Entrecard widget to your blog, where others can advertise and drop their cards. Then once you earn some credits, which is pretty simple, you can advertise on other blogs. When BlogRush (which turned out to be a total flop, in my opinion) and Entrecard came out and were introduced to the blogosphere, I was a bit skeptical. The idea of Entrecard is that, to earn credits, you drop your card on other people’s site and they drop their card on yours - as well as how much you earn from people advertising on your blog’s Entrecard widget. Spending a lot of work for a little traffic wouldn’t be a wise decision, but for me, that’s not the case. I don’t spend much time using Entrecard at all. I don’t search for blogs to drop my card on for hours on end. Instead, if I’m already visiting another ...

3 Ways To Make Money Online With Donations
2008-01-09 07:56:00
Photography by annia316. Why To Accept Donations Maybe Adsense isn’t doing so well for you, or you can never seem to make enough with your affiliate sales. It might be time that you could start asking nicely for donations. First of all, you might be wondering why anyone would want to give you something for free, and why you should even bother with trying. If you’re working hard on your site or blog, then someone out there might be compelled to help you out or reward you for that hard work. If you try your best to help your readers, then maybe one will come along that wants to help you in return. And besides, setting up a donation button or page takes a couple minutes of your time. It never hurts to try, and you never know - you might turn on the computer one day and have a nice surprise waiting for you! If you add a little donation area in your sidebar, or a small page dedicated to the purpose, someone might donate to you because they like your cause and they appreciate...

Improve Your Vocabulary by Feeding the Hungry
2008-01-02 11:19:00
