Apple Investor News Goes Live!!
2007-05-22 19:14:00 For investors who just can't get enough about Apple (AAPL), Apple Invest or News went live, May 21, at 7:30 Pacific Time.Advertised as the first standalone site devoted to stock news of a single company, it aggregates time-stamped headlines from all the usual suspects and chops them into 20 sub-topics, from Apple Analysis to watching Steve Jobs. There's a whizzing grid of live video that looks cool but that I haven't been able to get to work yet, perhaps because I've been looking at a sneak peak. [It's working now.] The whole thing refreshes automatically every 15 minutes -- a clock tells you where it stands in the cycle -- or manually if you hit refresh.(via Apple 2.0)read more | digg story More About: Live

Adobe's Flash technology in the dust?
2007-05-07 18:56:00 Last week's Read/WriteWeb poll asked what you thought of Silverlight, Microsoft's newly improved rich internet app plug-in that was launched to (unusually) rave blog reviews at MIX on Monday. Some people even said that Silverlight leaves Adobe's Flash technology in the dust, which is a big claim to make given that Flash is still extremely popular with designers - and for users it's a slick rich media browser plug-in. Also the days of usablity 'gurus' complaining about Flash splash pages is mostly gone. Nowadays Flash is used to create compelling multimedia browser experiences. So to my mind, Flash still reigns supreme - until such time as we see similar ubiquity and/or outstanding browser experiences from Silverlight.read more - written by Richard MacManus for the Read/WriteWeb Blog More About: Technology , Lash , Ology , The D

Again - Our World is Four-Dimensional
2007-05-03 01:31:00 "Time is not, as it is sometimes believed to be, merely a dimension of the human mind, a necessary delusion of consciousness. And indeed, physics has found evidence of this. Einstein's and Minkowski's space-time continuum is the most modern and precise representation of our physical reality yet presented, and it leaves no doubt that our universe is four-dimensional, although the fourth dimension, time, has properties quite different from those shared by the three spatial dimensions. Above all, it is not as directly accessable by our senses. But we can at least appreciate that four types of measurements are needed to define the location of an event in our world, its spatial coordinates (e.g., logitude, latitude, and elevation) and its point in time." Paul Watzlawick PhD (July 25, 1921 - March 31, 2007) was a theoretician in Communication Theory and Radical Constructivism and has commented in the fields of family therapy and general psychotherapy.
