Ubuntu! An alternative to Windows and Mac
2007-06-09 19:09:00
Are you tired of all the Viruses, Spy-ware and Ad-ware Plaguing your Windows Installation? Ever though about switching to another Operating System, but never could afford the time and patience it takes to learning all of the ins and outs? There are three operating systems people tend to use. The ever so popular "Windows XP and/or Vista," the competition "Mac OS X," and the renegade "Linux." Windows has been around forever, it's the best OS for dumber people, plus it already comes installed when you purchase a new comp, not to mention the amount of software that's available. Macs, on the other hand, tend to go for users who are already tired of Windows, and seek a more advanced OS. Mac OS X, like it or not Window Users, is much better than XP! Actually it was voted by PC Magazine has one of the best products for 2006. The downside to these two OS is the amount of viruses targeted at these users. Its a huge annoyance trying to get rid of malicious software while trying to get...

Sure fire way to Succeed Online
2007-06-02 15:33:00
Why is it that some people find success online, while others are still trying to penetrate the online world? Either with Blogs, Affiliate Marketing, E-Commerce Sites, Adsense Arbitrage, etc... As I have come across plenty of people who are still getting their feet wet, they're still asking themselves one question, what am I missing?I have also asked myself that question, and the answer is easy for those that are still new to this business world. A MENTOR! Someone that has already been there and can teach you the ropes. This is still a new world for the businessman, and yes my friend, in order for you to succeed online, you must think of yourself as a business, or else this is only a hobby for you and you are not the "real deal." So, if this is a hobby, I ask you right now to stop reading, this isn't for you.So what do I mean by a mentor? This is a person who is making at least a 6 figure income on the web. This person knows everything there is to know. These guys go by th...

"If you BLOG it, they will PAY..." Blogvertise will Pay!
2007-05-14 13:06:00
Many people are generally aware of Google's and Yahoo's advertisement programs. Usually each click can net some web masters a couple of hundred dollars per month. For the beginner blog, however, those clicks might equal of up to around $10 to $30 dollars on the first month and, with enough effort, a steady increase each month after that.A much better and more rewarding method of earning an income via blogging has become a fad for most daily posters. It's getting paid for Blog ging, simple as that. The downside to most services is that they require an active blog for at least 2 - 3 months, others asks for high traffic, average google pagerank, registered under google's search engine, etc... I've recently reviewed a service called Blogsvertise where the requirements are not such a headache like the others! No kidding. You see Blogvertise is slightly more lenient in requirements, and getting started is a snatch. I wonder how many people are using this service?

PayPal's Unpopular Practices
2007-05-08 15:25:00
PayPal sends these types of EMAIL all the time: PayPal as a regulated financial services company is required under law to assess its customers against certain lists of individuals and entities which have had sanctions imposed against them. PayPal as a financial institution is required to comply with these regulations in multiple jurisdictions where we do business.Where a potential name match is identified, PayPal's policy is to lock the account and request further identifying documentation. The decision to lock your account has been taken solely by PayPal in line with its compliance policy in regards to the legislation covering financial sanctions. We decided to take a closer look at this and started a Google search regarding PayPal freezing accounts. We came across a couple of sites that host, "PayPal horror stories." One story really struck me. Apparently, PayPal has had terrible dealings with customers in the past. Complaints range from unnecessary locking of accounts and/or...

Everyone Owns the Fastest Computer on Earth!
2007-05-05 05:03:00
You might or might not now know this, but MOST people own a computer that is a whole lot faster than the one used to send Apollo 11 to the Moon in the 1960s! That's how much technology has evolved, and all thanks to the Government. And it's only gonna get better. Computer s are evolving extremely fast. However, our current material computers come no where near the amazing piece of blubbery fat sitting between your shoulders. You gotta ask yourself. What's the fastest computer on earth right now? Well not only does EVERYONE own one, it's free. That's because your born with it. It's the Brain! Your brain, unlike Windows and other programs, makes zero mistakes. It can understand multiple languages, listen to any speaker, vocalize sound, process complex visual images and more. My labtop sure as heck can't do all that. I know for sure that my labtop can't have sex and consider raising a family. Now imagine the day we invent something that can do everything I just mentioned. It migh...

BlogCharm's New Approach to The Term, "Blogging for Profit."
2007-05-03 16:25:00
BlogCharm asks a real simple question: "Why should blog hosts keep all of the revenue when it is the bloggers that do all of the hard work?"BlogCharm plans to take a much different approach to the term, "Blogg ing for Profit ." It's part of their mission statement, "Why not get paid for something you love to do," Now, there are people out here that feel that that's just plain evil, how could anyone stood so low, blahbidi blah. Honestly, companies are making money of of us, what is wrong with bloggers making money as well. There's just something completley wrong with this picture that really prevented me to take part in this. You would have to host the blog with their hosting service. In other words for those who already have a blog... you would have to start all over.On the positive side, they plan to share profits 50/50. That's pretty good considering the fact that all you're doing is writing, and they take care of hosting, finding the clients, provide support, etc... Apparently ...

The Silence Trap
2007-05-02 19:09:00
Based on a Post I read over at John Chow dot Com, a Web Hosting Company from Berlin sets up the site about the Virginia Shootings, who's name I will not post here. I'll tell you why in a sec.If you happen to visit the site, which I hope you won't, you will notice how the website is NOT loaded with ads, so at first glance there is no reason for anyone to think it is being used for link bait in order to make some money from advertisements and the like. However, what the site is getting is a lot of visitors. Which in turn amounts to a higher PageRank with Google, and Top Level Rankings on Digg and Technorati. This way the Berlin Web Hosting Company is gaining Higher rankings in search engines and Blog Communities. John states that when people forget about this site the company will use it to redirect visitors to their Homepage.John claims it to be evil, and I couldn't agree more. However by posting about this on Blogs, we are unintentionally promoting the site. As am I in a way, bu...

Digiframe your Frame!
2007-05-01 19:52:00
Picture and Photo fanatics get to indulge on sites like Flickr and Imageshack. Massive amounts of bytes are stored on their servers daily. The best part? It's accessible anywhere in the world, and its shared by millions of users. The services that keep appearing for these die hard enthusiasts just keep getting more and more interesting. Look at the service of DigiFrame for example. Let's say you have a really great picture that not only you would like to share with the rest of the world, you also want it framed so that everyone who walks in your front door can see it, and awe in all it's glory. Ok, less melodramatics right? Now what does it take to get a picture framed? Ummm, let's see. Get in your car, drive over to Kodak or your nearest K-Mart, get in line, talk to the clerk, choose the frame, pay, and drive back home. Could there be an easier more professional way of going about this? Well, we do live in an era where the Internet has bestowed upon us great tools and services, ...
The Future of our Earth Uncertain
2007-05-01 19:05:00
Ahhh, NASA. The Web not only provides us with billions of articles, it can show you anything. Ranging from a description of the fungi under your bathroom sink, to a recently released NASA video about a Massive Explosion of the Sun.But why is NASA overlooked in the web? Is it because we still do not "need" to worry about the condition of the planet. What kind of people are Bloggers and Internet Entrepreneurs when it comes to pollution? Do we care?I definitely think that NASA is one of the most important organizations in the world. The earth will not be around forever my friend. Where will we go once this place gets fed up with our pollution? And who are the two biggest contributors to the problem? USA and India. Why? Have you seen a traffic picture from those two cities? Do you live there? To top it off, every other country in the world is following in their footsteps.NASA's discoveries will undermine the future of our race. Of course, the Government doesn't really car...

P2P Schemes to Make Money
2007-04-30 22:57:00
Just recently I read on a Yahoo! Answers post about a "John Doe" who downloaded a recently released Spiderman 3 movie file from a P2P Network. The file was in RAR format. When the user descompressed the file, he found the movie to be in another compressed format called .zix. Apparently to decompress the file and watch the movie you must download and install a new software called Winzix. This is where the scam comes in. The person who created the Movie File knows that in order for you to watch the movie you must install Winzix, in doing so you also install some adware that comes with the software. The Adware is only part of the scheme that will make the scam artist money. After you spent hours downloading the Movie, you are more than likely to install the program just to watch the movie. You MUST surf on over to their website! Which means free traffic!!!But wait, theres more! The scam artist included a couple of instructions on how you can do a similar process so that you can...

Vapaeso Slight Name Change
2007-04-30 17:59:00
Today I decided the name, "Evolution," is not catchy enough. So I changed the name to, "The Internet Re-Evolution." Why is that? you ask. Well, I believe in the name. We are experiencing an evolution in our daily lives because of the Internet. However, the Internet will evolve plenty of times over. Even after our lifetimes the Internet will have plenty of other users or fads that we cannot foresee. Hence the name Re-Evolution. An example of that is Web 2.0. The first phase, "Web 1.0," has passed already and we're in the era of Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts, Sharing, and whatnot. I wonder what Web 3.0 will be like?

I Have to Assist a Conference... In China!
2007-04-27 17:45:00
Remember the old days of going to a Conference ? How everyone would walk in, salute the Boss, gather a seat, get your report ready, and wait for the Boss to open his mouth. Well that was me back when I was part of the rat race. Now a days there seems to be a whole new way of going to conferences.Video Conferencing, for example, are some of the best ways to get some face time around the office, whether your transmuting, or in a whole different continent some 10,000 miles away. Not to mention it's excellent for first time impressions. In today's world most companies require sophisticated and reliable video conferencing software. Some great features that you must keep in mind are ease of use, versatility, security, presentation integration, desktop sharing, and audio support, just to name a few.A lot of video conferencing softwares lack these really important features. Others, however, like MegaMeeting, come with all these features included. Now there are a couple of other web...

I Learned Something New!
2007-04-24 20:37:00
I learned about Epigenesis today! It's pretty interesting stuff. I just wanted to take a little break and lay back for a sex.., I mean sec. Basically I just wanted to share some of the things I enjoy doing on the Internet now a days. First and foremost, I love to learn. It's just one of those things I can never get tired of doing. My weakness, however, is that I get bored on a subject to quickly, and instead of absorbing all the information on a subject, I take in only what I can stand and then I move on to the next interesting thing I want to learn about.Pause a second. What do you mostly do on the Web? If you're the type to just browse, get bored, and do something else. Your only using a fraction of a very capable learning tool that's sitting right in front of your face. I admit I don't just use the Web to just learn and read stuff. I also watch YouTube you know. Then again there's some very cool videos on YouTube that can teach you a couple of things. Anyways I ...

Russian's Laws on the Web.
2007-04-23 17:31:00
Read this:"In March, Putin signed a decree merging two existing federal agencies – one for media oversight and the protection of culture, the other for telecommunications monitoring – into a single body, the Federal Service for the Oversight of Mass Communications and Protection of Cultural Heritage. It is perhaps no accident that the Russian word for 'oversight' used in the agency's name, nadzor, has a somewhat sinister ring for a Russian speaker: It commonly refers to the supervision of a prisoner. The new agency, which will start its work in about three months, will oversee and license broadcasters, the print media, and websites."Can you Image that? What if this were to happen in your part of the world? I live in Colombia so I'm still waiting for much better ADSL technology to arrive, but come on... this is ridiculos. Thank GOD for democracy right? This news story for me, and hopefully for some of you, really hit me.Now I have a question: Is that even possible? Now wh...

Is Porn Losing Popularity on the Web?
2007-04-21 23:30:00
A couple of months ago saw a hilarious WOW video clip. If I remember correctly it was about a Troll singing, repeatedly, "The Internet is for porn." Then a cow would appear and state otherwise, saying how we use it for plenty of other things like content sharing, chatting, and whatnot. I tend to agree with both the troll and the cow.Ever since the 90s, the Internet has become the porn addicts hang out spot. Making up a large part of the Internet community. All types of porn can be found on the web, and NO I won't go into the details of how people can find certain things erotic on the web... Anyways, recently I read an article on the Economists about the recent decline of porn activity on the web. It states that in the first quarter of 2007 there has been a significant decline in PORN on the web.I would be retarded to state that I wasn't familiar with porn content. However, as time goes on, newer and better constructive uses can be found for the Internet other than sharing...

Google's 1st Quarter Profit reaches $1 Billion
2007-04-21 21:58:00
Compared from the first quarter of 2006, this new quarter of 2007 has surpassed the old one by 69%, with a profit reach of $1 Bill ion Dollars. I compare this report with Yahoo, and I still wonder WHY does Yahoo have #1 in Alexa rankings but cannot surpass Googl e in profits? Google seems to be on a hot streak. It plans to reach out on new advertisement techniques, acquire Doubleclick, and go up against Microsoft by releasing a program similar to that of Powerpoint.Even with all the problem Google has had with Copyright lawsuits from Viacom, it hasn't slowed down one bit. Google plans to release something called, "Claim Your Content." This will be used to minimize the use of unlawful video uploading on YouTube, and automatically remove content that doesn't have copyrights. It will be released later this year.

Yahoo's Earnings not what was Expected.
2007-04-20 20:05:00
Despite the fact that the company has reached #1 in Alexa rankings, it has failed to surpass it's gross expectations for the 1st Quarter. Based on the earnings of the first Quarter of 2006, Yahoo's 2007 earnings fell by 11%. Even so, Terry Semel, president of Yahoo, commented on how he is, "Satisfied by the companie's results and that it has performed just as it was expected." Wallstreet states otherwise by saying that the projected earnings were far more superior than what Yahoo has achieved.

Google's Bookmarks.
2007-04-20 19:17:00
Finally Googl e catched on the idea of setting up a Bookmark service just like del.icio.us. What Google offers more so than del.icio.us is a more array of services integrated together, just like Google has always done. I just installed the toolbar again just to see what it was like. It also gives you the option of setting up buttons for the most popular and useful blogs on the toolbar. I guess it's worth a look.

We use the Internet, and the Internet uses us.
2007-04-19 19:22:00
I ran into this excellent video on YouTube. It's really great considering the way it makes you think about how Web 2.0 is developing. Basically we are using the internet, and the internet is using us. At one point it mentions how each time we create a new link or hypertext, we are teaching the internet new content, or giving it more life. As it expands and evolves into too much information, who will be able to organize the content it so that it can actually be found? Sure enough we have been leaving this task to Google, without our intervention nor hearing our suggestions. Now with Web 2.0, there are Social Bookmarks, Blogs, Podcasts, Wikis... user sharing content is what it's all about. We are setting the stage. Watch the video!

Adobe's Steps Up to the Plate
2007-04-18 18:02:00
Today Adobe announced plans to release a new version of their flash into a free Media Player. The difference between this one and Microsoft's Windows Media Player, Apple, and Real Network's is that it will use RSS Feeds instead in order to download watchable Video on your desktop. Sorta like a Personal TV on your computer, except a lot faster and cheaper! Another nice feature to note will be that it will not matter whether your online or not, it will download your chosen content automatically and display it at your leisure. How in the heck will this make Adobe Money? It's free isn't it? Well the answer to that is that they plan to allow advertisements to run on the bottom of the player while you are watching video. This version will be released within the next couple of months.

Microsoft Silverlight vs Adobe Flash
2007-04-18 16:37:00
Microsoft Silverlight has released an evaluation version of their reproductive media player software that will rival that of Adobe 's ever popular Flash . Their appealing presentation showed close to about a couple of new visual implementations that this baby can pull. It's basically oriented towards reaching out the low cost crowd and promises to deliver an effective solution to high quality visual and audio presentations. It will also work with Macintosh OS X 10.4.8 or later for both Power PC–based and Intel-based hardware via a Universal Binary. So it will work for either operating system but only for three browsers, Safari, Firefox, and IE.

PC World's 50 Most Important People
2007-04-17 15:21:00
Not long ago, PC World Magazine published an article about the 50 most important people on the web. Now, this is an important matter for the internet. And that's because these people are the ones who "control" the majority of the content you see on the web. "Control how?" you say, well it's simple. They are what we read, watch, and listen... practically on a daily basis. They control the mainstream of the internet, the news, the updates, the new practices, and the new techonological advances. Of course this is all coming from a legitimate perspective, since, no Hacker is listed here. It is not entirely well known by the public that if it weren't for Hackers the world would be a completley different place today, technologically speaking of course. You might not be able to have a PC in front of you right now. The creator of Apple Computer (not on this list of course) was a hacker who hacked the first Atari and Hacked "Micro-Soft's" (original name) software. What truly ama...
