FactSpotter | A new context based Search Engine from Xerox
2007-06-23 07:38:00 If you are fed up with the process of choosing different sets of keywords in Google to get your desired results, here comes factSpotter, the Xerox's new context based semantic oriented search engine, which is now in Beta. What does it mean: Present Search Engine s including Google work on keywords. e.g. if you search for parade ground, it will also give you results like naked parade of models to baseball grounds in US. But FactSpotter proposes to be intelligent enough to go much deeper into the context of the result pages to bring you only the relevant pages.Xerox Press Release says...What it is: New Xerox text mining software for service offerings is discriminating, smart and easy to use.How it's different: Takes ordinary search to the next level by digging into more documents, analyzing meaning of words and context, accepting queries in everyday language. Why it matters: Makes it easy to retrieve information from massive data bases in legal case... More About: Search Engine , Context
Notenook.com | an online shopping website for notebooks and computers
2007-06-22 09:28:00 It appears that Notenook.com, Yes, I am right, it is noteNook.com and not noteBook.com, is a just some sort of a gateway to search for the articles listed on ebay. The articles are only computers related. On the left sidebar of the website, you will find a list of about 25-30 links, clicking on which opens a list of the laptops and notebooks in ebay related to that keyword. The search results can be arranged in any of the four choices like decreasing or increasing prices and two others based upon the time to expire the bidding at ebay. The same search results are given by a drop down list given at the top of the page. No significant differences are there in the two.Notenook.com seems to be a totally new site. When I tried to search for Notenook.com in Blog Search of Google, I could not find any entry. Even a regular google search returned only 14 entries. The website also doesn't seem to be properly designed. There is a Sitemap link on the top, but there is virtually no sitemap found... YouTube videos may be injurious to your PC health
2007-06-17 10:08:00 I recently came across an article at Websense, which indicates the potential use of YouTube videos downloaded onto your PC for installing malware and viruses. When you download and run an application file, cleverly disguised as a video file, your browser opens a video but in the background it also connects to its another webserver, which uploads a few Trojan Horses in to your machine with the primary objective of stealing your valuable information.Websense has also upoladed a video about it on YouTube here.
