2007-08-02 05:37:00
After several weeks without any news. Now, E-Gold has a blog.“Hi, I’m Douglas Jackson and this is the first entry of the e-gold blog.”Most readers will know what I am talking about because over the last decade getting casual comments out of the e-gold organization has been darn near impossible. Perhaps this silence was for a good reason. This blog is truly a new and warm addition to the community. Its a well needed social add-on and I urge all readers to visit and comment. [detailed]

Omnipay Update
2007-06-22 10:13:00
June 21, 2007 OmniPay Africa had planned to become operational, conducting both in and outexchanges by June 18th. It now appears this service will be delayed several weeks. Establishment of OmniPay Africa has been on-going, designed to facilitate a remote and sophisticated payment capability to the majority of mankind underserved or excluded from traditional banking and constituting it properly is imperative. The complexities of making OmniPay Africa fully operational in an accelerated manner have been greater than originally anticipated causing this delay. We assure you we are working diligently to bring OmniPay Africa online.

E-gold responds to DoJ indictments
2007-05-03 01:42:00
The founder and chairman of e-gold has issued a scathing response to recent allegations by the US Department of Justice (DoJ), insisting that e-gold has been made a " scapegoat". Dr Douglas Jackson said that the charges of money laundering and enabling criminal transactions are the result of a political vendetta. In an open letter posted on the company's website, Dr Jackson accused the DoJ of "subordinating actual crime fighting to a policy agenda". E-gold was indicted late last week on charges of money laundering, conspiracy and operating an unlicensed money transmitting business. "This case has nothing to do with criminal activity," the e-gold statement read. "It is about a DoJ that is out of control, cognisant of having made a horrible mistake but determined at all costs to preserve its turf." Dr Jackson said that all of the charges are false and that the company has been a leader in the fight against child pornography. Using e-gold to launder money is nearly impossible, ...

E-gold® Founder Denies Criminal Charges
2007-05-01 01:31:00
e-gold® Founder Denies Criminal Charges April 30, 2007 Melbourne, FL On April 24, 2007, a Federal Grand Jury handed down an indictment charging e-gold Ltd., Gold & Silver Reserve, Inc., and the Directors of both companies with money laundering, operating an unlicensed money transmitter business, and conspiracies to commit both offenses. Dr. Douglas Jackson, Chairman and Founder of e-gold, speaking on behalf of his fellow Directors and both companies vigorously denies the charges, taking particular exception to the allegations that either company ever turned a blind eye to payments for child pornography or for the sale of stolen identity and credit card information. Dr. Jackson states, "With regard to child pornography, the government knows full well that their allegations are false, yet they highlight these irresponsible and purposely damaging statements in order to demonize e-gold in the eyes of the public. During the Inquisition, accusations of witc...
E-Gold Blocks Account Logins From Exploited Computers
2007-04-29 01:24:00
E-gold Users now have additional protection against "phishing attacks", thanks to a ground breaking upgrade to its Account Sentinel™ (a.k.a. AccSent(tm)) arsenal of account access security features. Using DNS blacklist data published by well known third parties, AccSent now blocks account access from IPs identified as open proxies, insecure web servers, or otherwise open to exploitation by criminals. For the sake of brevity, e-gold refers to such blacklisted IPs as "blips". As always, the AccSent advantage is that e-gold Users need not take any action - or even understand what an IP address, an open proxy, or a phishing attack is - to immediately benefit from this innovative new feature. However, as powerful as AccSent is, the best protection against phishing and other criminal attacks is user education. For this reason e-g...

1mdc Us court order confiscateess 1mdc accounts
2007-04-27 23:18:00
It appears that a U.S. Government court order has forced e-gold(R) to freeze or block all of 1mdc's accounts. All of 1mdc account's have been frozen at e-gold for unknown reasons. Please note that it appears a few accounts of a small number of large exchangers and users of e-gold have also been frozen overnight. (Millions of Euros of gold have been involved in this event.)If the freeze or court order in the USA is reversed, your e-gold grams remaining in 1mdc will "unbail" normally to your e-gold account and all procedures will be normal. We suggest not panicking: more will be known on Monday when there will be more activity in the courts. You CAN spend your 1mdc back and fore to other 1mdc accounts. 1mdc is operating normally within 1mdc. However, you should be aware that for now the e-gold remains under the court order.Ultimately e-gold(R) is an entirely USA-based company, owned and operated by US citizens, so, e-gold users operate by the decisions of US courts regarding the dispos...
