The Decans
2008-04-02 14:42:00
The ancient Egyptians believed in the Sun, or rather the movement of the Sun and other planets such as our famous Sirius. But they recognized more planets than that. actually they recognized the exact same essential planets which we so often use in our modern astrology readings. Some Basic about ancient Egyptians:They also divided the days hours much like we still do - 24 hours a day.RA - The Sun is the Day, and there are 12 light hours of the day.SETH - The Moon is the night, and there are 12 night/dark hours of the day.The Decans are the stars that are bound by the five(5) gods birthdays, and together they create the 365 days a year. One week is made up by 10 days, making a year; 36 x 10 = 360 days; Then the ancient celebrated 5 Gods birthdays, by giving them a day each;which makes; 36 decans x 10 days + 5 days = 365 days a year. The Decans The Decans could be seen as 36 weekly stars that the ancient would take notice of. The famous Sirius is the ‘Queen of the Decans’ and sh...
The Constellation of TAURUS Video
2008-03-15 15:23:00
I made this clip two days ago, to illustrate some of the beautiful elements of this constellation. Then today I was standing in a back garden some where here in the North, I could see Taurus ? very clear. So clear that I could see (eyes only) the stars inside the shoulder and besides/behind Taurus Red Eye.Aldebaran is the brightest star to be found in the constellation of Taurus, also known as the Bull?s eye. Aldebaran (al-dabar?n) is the Arabic work for ?The Follower?, because from Earth it looks like this star is following the star cluster Pleiades.

Virgo contains more than 13.000 galaxies, which are quit interesting in them selves. The red circle shows us just one of the galaxies that are locatedinside the Virgo constellation. M104 also known as The Sombrero Galaxy, the name comes from its hat like look. Some people speculate that more might be going on inside this galaxy, because not only is it so bright, but it has been noticed that it also glows through X-rays, some connect this to that its center might be a black hole, but this is only speculations.

The Phoenicians
2008-02-26 00:14:00
The ancient Egyptians had for many years been in relationship with many other northern countries. It is very clearly to see that the Egyptians had some huge affect upon the earlier Phoenician?s their images would come to look a lot like the ancient Egyptians. Our Human history contains so many cultures, where most of them are today destroyed by foolish people with power trips. Most of these ancient cultures have one thing in common, and that is there respect for the universe itself and the life it carries. The Phoenicia also known as the ?Sea People? was one of such ancient cultures, which most people have forgotten everything about. Their legacy were stolen, and their beliefs have sunken to the modern mans sub-consciousness.But even the Phoenicia changed through time through interferences from other countries - this had a darker affect upon their religion. The Phoenician culture is said to date back to 1200 BC to 900 BC. But they are much older than that, or Tuthmosis III (Menkheperre...
The Legacy of Babylonia
2008-02-19 09:43:00
To turn the Pages Just Click your Mouse or Dobble click Who were the Babylonians:I would personally not date any society (except the modern ones), as they are still many subjects and items to be observe before claming a right to such a statement. But I can give you the information which the scholars and professors have given us all, through time. It is becoming clearer that the ancient were already a mixed society, of different cultures. Some are dating further back than the Babylonians, and others emerging at the same time. But untangling this ancient historical web, will probably take a long time, especially considering the levels of the conscious mind today, still a long way to go?Babylonia was a three city combination, the city of Babylon, and the city Sumer, and the city Akkad. They probably joined together because of political reasons. But the first mentioning of a city called Babylon was made by the King Sargon of Akkad, around the 23rd century BC.Sargon the Great (Akkadian ?ar...

Chinese Zodiac Sings
2008-02-08 13:10:00
Chinese astrology can probably be dated to being over 5000 years old. There are twelfth zodiac signs; Rat, Ox, Tiger, Hare, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, rooster, dog, pig. These are combined over a cycles of around 60 years, with the Five elements (metal, water, wood, fire, and earth). If you watched CNN or BBC over the last couple of weeks, then you would have seen many Chinese and other Asian people trying to get home, to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The Chinese New year, begins on the First New Moon after the winter solstice, and it is made op of 12 months where they all start at the New Moon. Some other calculations are made, which is a correction of the calendar so it matches the seasons.CHINESE ZODIAC SIGNS:The Rat:Born in 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008Charming, creative, good at adapting themselves, intelligent, witty. The Rat is the first Zodiac sign in the Chinese Zodiac circle. It is seen as an aggressive, ambitious, power-hungry, honest, gener...

Fixed Stars
2008-02-07 02:24:00
Fixed stars are exactly that; Fixed. They are all the stars which never seems to move, when viewed from earth (they do move, but in such a high speed that we don’t notice the movement - only over an extension of time.Ptolemy did not state anything in depth about the fixed stars and their importance’s, he only states that this was done by the people before them (Egyptians?)There are many different mentioning of the fixed stars, in ancient Egypt, even upon the temple walls. They names for these subjects were just different than ours, more simple in some way, and yet more complex in their meaning. In the old days, the Planets were referred to as the ‘Wandering stars’ but this was only in special relations. They knew which planet they were talking about, probably because of festivals and other priestly helpfulness. In modern astrology there is a standard term called ‘a Morning star’, this refers mostly to two planets, Venus rising as a morning star and mercury rising as a mor...

The Secret of Anubis The Winter Triangle
2008-02-05 02:10:00
ISBN 87-991527-9-7As the cover of the book illustrates, this is a book that both combines Earth and the universe but also astrology and ancient Egypt. Each page is embedded with pictures which will clearly illustrate the ancient Egyptian thoughts about astrology. So many authors see so many different things and subjects in the ancient mysteries of this great land, and so does Karima see some subjects differently than most others. This is a perfect and deeper extension of this Blog, but it focuses much more upon the Egyptian ideas and symbolism. This book is UNLIKE any book in the world! She loves to explore the symbols portrayed where ever and when ever she can. Like a walk through a desert old temple, so does the ancient word bring another horizontal light into existence. As the Sun dies away so does the Moon remember each day. She wrote this book because she saw something which she could not keep inside to herself. You will see how the ancient Egyptians and the old Greeks wrote the...

The Constellation of PISCES
2007-12-31 05:04:00
This is a symbol with its own internal conflict; We find the two fishes in Pisces are swimming away from each other: One swims towards Aquarius in the need for others well being, while the other Pisces swims towards Aries, in the wish of total control of its surroundings. The two fishes are connected by a fine silver line, and this connection symbolizes the Earth, where both the material and the spiritual meet. The Christian area was launched through the symbol of the Pisces, which was a representation for Jesus’ teachings about mercy and to be a true servant of love (in those days).Actually in the year 7 B.C (the same year that Jesus Christ is supposed to have been born in – Wonder then why year 0 comes seven years after, if we placed this time-recording upon Jesus’ life?.. hmm…) But anyway in the 7 B.C something special accrued, a 3 double conjunction took place in the zodiac sign of Pisces. The planet Jupiter (the most important planet, THE HIDDEN ONE!) came very close to ...

The Constellation of AQUARIUS
2007-10-17 12:27:00
Yet another sign/symbol, which is known in the ancient Babylonian history records (it is probably also known before that time. The ancient Egyptian praised the Nile as the Core of Egypt itself, a running flood which came and went by itself – I am here referring to the flood periods of the Nile). At some point this constellation was identified as Zeus, who is letting life’s water flow to the earth.Ganymedes;Aquarius is also said to represent the character called ‘Ganymedes’.Ganymedes was cursed with the most beautiful look upon earth, so beautiful that even the gods and goddess took notice of his beauty. They were so taken by him, that they all wanted him, even Zeus. Zeus did not trust any other god, so he would do it himself. Zeus disguised himself as an eagle and flew down to earth, where he grabbed Ganymedes with his claws, and took him back to the Olympian. Ganymedes parents were so sadden, that Zeus could hear their grief every night. He sent Hermes down to the parents, t...

The Constellation of CAPRICORN
2007-09-29 01:45:00
Another name for this fascinating creature is CAPRICORNUS.The modern symbol of this sign is usually shown as a Goat like animal. But since ancient days, this creature was like Sagittarius, in that it was combined by two animals.Capricorn us legends and myths are to be found among the myths of the Sheppard (nature God) Pan.Actually Pan is really an Akkadian God, which the ancient Greeks and Romans took as their own.Pan is a very famous character from ancient days, poets and authors gave him many attributes, even some as cruel as being the Devil himself (This is the perception which the old popes chose to teach people...)There are various versions, as to how Pan changes into the constellation of Capricorn. The fascination of Pan is most intriguing because of his mean and yet very playful nature. He is a teaser of nature and yet a son of the great Zeus. He had the total embodiment of a real human, because of his Lust and his inner duality.Pan is watching out over his KingdomThe great Pa...

The Constellation of SAGITTARIUS
2007-09-26 01:29:00
is probably the most memorable sign in our Zodiac circle, being half man and half horse. It is interesting that Sagittarius looks so much like the Centaurs, but Sagittarius is the only one among the modern Zodiac signs, yet these two creatures are nothing like each other. If I understand the ancient correct then these two creatures are opposites of each other. Some say that Sagittarius is a representation of Chiron the wise healer, he was also a Centaurs but with a different nature. The centaurs were of a rather harsh nature, drinking, and they loved to fight. I personally don’t see the character Chiron in Sagittarius.Let us see what the Picatrix (MSS) says about the 3 faces of Sagittarius. [The expression of 3 Faces, could also be called the 3 lots. Inside each zodiac sign is a division of three, which makes up the 3 faces inside Sagittarius (or the other signs).]Picatrix MSS.:“And there ascends in the first face of Sagittarius three bodies of men of which one is yellow, another...

The Constellation of SCORPION
2007-09-05 01:39:00
Now we come to the next part that is connected to Libra and Virgo, which is Scorpion or Scorpio. I personally think that Scorpio and Libra and Virgo cannot be described as directly as the other constellations, the three constellations are bound together (which all constellations are, but with these three signs we see it in the modern Zodiac circle). We have a (once) famous story about a Scorpion, which I think fits this constellation pretty well – One must not directly combine this story to the constellation of Scorpion, because that would be, a too judgmental statement for any given Zodiac sign. But the story gives the basic idea, as to this animal’s nature:(This is a kind of saying here in Denmark. I’ve asked my Danish family what definition the Danish language uses for such a story. Because some are sayings others are philosophies and so on. I was told that it was a pretty good question, but no one had the answer)I would call this story a form of ‘saying’, but I am not s...

Video Clip Scorpion - Libra - Virgo
2007-08-24 00:32:00
I wanted to add more to this video clip, but the more I add the bigger the file becomes, and Youtube and others, still only accept 100 MB. Made by Karima LachtaneWindBlower TMVirgo and Scorpion looks so much a like, yet they are nothing like each other. Scorpion is a Water sign, and if you read my other blog which is called ‘the history of Tarot’. Here I mentioned that in a tarot deck the card called Death is attributed to the Scorpion zodiac sign. This does NOT mean that people born under Scorpion is attributed with the same trends. But I think any Scorpion person would have to agree in that if they are caught up in a corner and know with themselves that they can’t get out of, then they will Sting either what is confronting them or them selves. A Scorpion person has a lot inside to give, but can probably be very afraid to give it, because of the elements which it knows it cannot control. The Scorpion symbol also contains the tail of Scorpio, to illustrate its fears power. B...

The Constellation of LIBRA
2007-08-08 14:17:00
Updated 17 AUGUSTA great Danish Book called ’Traveling among the fixed stars’ By Danish author Sigvard Mahler Dam, gives us even more about the stars located inside Libra .I will start with the Northern Claw:Under the name Zuben Eschamali, this author brings more light upon why this constellation has been baptized the scales; He writes that old Arabic salesmen (back then some of them were also astrologers), gave this star the symbolic name of ‘The Full Price’ (Zuben el Genubi) this was to symbolize a ‘good deal’ or a ‘good trade’.The Roman Marcus Manilius who lived around 1st century AD, was a poet and an astrologer. He was truly one of the Last Romans to respect the ancient Greeks, and in his works his appreciation is to be found for the Greeks. The Danish author Sigvard Mahler Dam brings light upon one of Marcus Manilius’ poems, which is attributed to the constellation of Libra:“When springtime begins to raise, blessed is he, who is born under Libras balance. The Constellation of VIRGO
2007-07-18 11:30:00
The constellation called Virgo is the only female figure, in the modern Zodiac circle. Yet another fascinating constellation which people has forgotten the details about.Let’s firstly look at what science tells us about this constellation. Inside the Virgo constellation is a cluster of galaxies, these are also the closets to our own Milky Way galaxy system.Galaxy:A Galaxy is a massive system of stars that are bound together. A galaxy such as the Milky Way contains our Moon and the Sun, and the inner and outer planets, not only that it also contains asteroids and uncountable stars besides this. To be humanly honest, then the word ‘galaxy’ is as unknown to us, as the universe in itself.June 26 1730 a man named Charles Messier was born. He lived in France and he was the 10th of 12 children (interesting number of children considering his later adventures). In 1774 at the age of around 40 years, he published a catalogue of deep heavenly objects, which he had observed through his pr...

The Constellation of LEO
2007-06-27 02:02:00
Leo is also known in Greek mythology as The Nemean Lion and Hera’s half brother. Nemean was located in the northeastern part of the Peloponnese, in Greece. The lion’s tail hair, is a lonely star, which is named Berenice’s lock. It is thought to be an Alexandrian astrologer named Konon that gave the star its name around 247 B.C. It was named after queen Berenice’s lock of hair, which she is said to have given her husband Ptolemy III Euergetes, after he had won a battle against the Syrians.Bronze coin issued by Ptolemy III depicting (obverse) Zeus-Amun and (reverse) the traditional Ptolemaic eagle. Ptolemy III did not issue coins with his own image.[Some extra things are worth mentioning to this part:The Name of the Lock might have come about in a little different way. Ptolemy III Euergetes sister was named Berenice Phernophorus, and her story might be the reasoning for this story, but again it does not exclude the other one – both could be true.Just another part worth mentio...

The Constellation of CANCER
2007-06-20 23:26:00
The constellation called Cancer is located right above the constellation called Hydra. In old Greek mythology, Cancer helps Hydra in an attack on Hercules. Among the constellations Hydra is some kind of sea creature. This is another story that belongs to Hercules and his 12 work assignments. In one myth Hydra is described as a sea creature with 9 heads. This sea snake creature Hydra (also known as Lernaean Hydra) was known in the territory of Argolid, a place located near the eastern part of the Peloponnese, where it would attack both humans and animals. Hercules cuts a head of with his sword, only to see that a new head grows out in mere seconds.Hera who was an Olympian god like Zeus, also the wife of Zeus, was in this story the master behind the sea creature Hydra. When Hera saw Hercules coming to attack her creature, she sent forth a giant crab called Cancer. In some versions Hera is Cancer the giant Crab, that bites Hercules in his heel, but in this version the crab is crushed un...

The Constellation of GEMINI
2007-06-10 01:28:00
If you have read the post about Aries and Taurus, then you are already introduced to the twins called Gemini . Aries was their helper through their life, in one legend. But there are many aspects to why constellations are more fascinating, which I have stated before. The constellations have in their concepts never changed, but peoples interpretation of them, has changed. One of such conceptions is our modern view of Gemini, which has changed. This is clearly evident when we look at the Arabic names for the stars in themselves, which we still use today. In old Arabic manuscripts the constellation of Gemini is a larger constellation than the modern view. Orion’s raised arm contains the star called ‘Betelgeuse’, which directly translate to ’Gemini’s house’ in the Arabic language. So here we in fact are told that two constellations looked different that they do today. If Orion’s raised arm was a part of the Gemini’s house, then suddenly Orion’s constellations changes in i...

The Constellation of TAURUS
2007-05-19 08:49:00
Updated 3 June 2007This is yet another fascinating constellation, and for over 5000 years this constellation has been known as Taurus (The Bull). This is a picture from my book 'The secret of Anubis'Taken in Egypt on my 27 birthdayEGYPT:The ancient Pharaoh called Seti I worshipped the Apis bull, which they also linked to the constellations in the deep blue heavens. There are many cows and bulls in ancient Egypt, which were worshipped for each their reason. The Apis BullThe Heavenly CowThe apis bull was worshipped in the area referred to as Memphis, his name goes back to the pyramid texts. The Apis bull is linked to the Egyptian god Ptah, and the bull had a special place in Ptah’s temple, just south from his temple. It was said that the Apis bull was born of a virgin cow that had been impregnated by the god Ptah. At the beginning of Egyptian mythology we find the Apis bulls as being a son of Ptah, but up towards the Greek invasions this changed to, the Apis bull being a represent...

The Constellation of ARIES
2007-05-10 01:23:00
Updated 27 may 2007When I was writing the Blog on Taurus, I suddenly realized that I have a book dating from 1888, which goes into detail about these old Hermetic myths (Greek mythology). The book is a Danish translation of old German manuscripts, but I can now give you the ‘real length story’ about the myths and such. UPDATED: The Egyptian mythology is even more advanced than the Greeks ever were, but apparently the Greeks found the basic for the ancient Egyptians way of thinking.I have been pretty unsure as to how I would go about, telling you about ancient Egyptian mythology, much is actually known, but it is very hard to understand (merely because of our always and ongoing stupidity of war and such larger dilemmas). So I am just going to give you it straight out of the brain, and ‘hope’ it makes some sense –heh- Aries is also very much known in ancient Egypt, as you have seen if you have ever been there. I think the most evident thing about astrology or even astronomy ...

Canis Major
2006-09-11 13:38:00
Canis Major also known as Big Dog - Great Dog star:this star image is the most visible star signs on the night sky, this is because of the Always shining Sirius, which in itself is called the Dog Star. It is said that the Big dog is responsible for the Northern hemisphere 'dog- days', this is a traditional hot period in the late summer. Old traditions say that the Dog Star awaken at the same time as the Sun (Meaning The dog star raises at the same time the Sun does). Besides the Big Dog, the star image of the 'little dog' is located, called Canis Minor- Little Dog, and this dog is often mentioned in old Greek manuscripts. Sirius was an object of wonder and veneration to all ancient peoples throughout human history. In the ancient Vedas this star was known as the Chieftain's star;in other Hindu writings, it is referred to as Sukra, the Rain God, or Rain Star. The Dog is also described as "he who awakens the gods of the air, and summons them to their office of bringing the rain."...

What is Astrology?
2006-09-09 23:34:00
Dating from the 14.th century. By Piero di Puccio, made in Pisa. The circle shows a basic for the astrological chart. The nine outer circles represent the nine angle choirs, the earth is located in the middle. First off, we must understand which kind of Astrolog y The Ancient people were interested in. This kind of astrology is called 'Macro' Astrology today (Now is the time/Age of Aquarius), I personally don't know who called what back then (Except when manuscript states it). The ancient Egyptians are also known to have used ‘Macro’ astrology, which is very evident (and which I will post more about later on).'Macro' astrology is a 'Bigger' view of our enormous universe, meaning; Today people mostly use 'Natal astrology' which consider the 12 zodiac signs in their 12 houses, and the aspect in between. But our heavens are much bigger than this, and the ancient astrologers knew this too, and they created stories/myths about some of them. This 'Bigger' picture where/is us...

This science is the oldest science known to mankind, and still the most mysterious science to us! Scholars have different opinions on 'When' Astrolog y came into play.(Also because we today know, how much knowledge there still is needed). But apparently most of them agree that astrology have its roots in Babylon, but with strongly influences from ancient Egypt and later Greece. Babylon's first Dynasty is 'right now' placed at 1792-1750 B.C(before Christ), and Ended in around 596 B.C. But there were also people Before the Babylonians; about 2600 B.Cthe Sumerians had their empire, which also shows us knowledge of Astrology/Astronomy. by looking at the found artifacts, (Click here!) one can see that they are older, scholars say they probably go back to around 5000 B.C. (personal theroy)(Here must be said Sumerians and Akkadians Became the Mesopotamians, which later on became the Babylonians. Again by being conquered and interrelation with the many (over numbered) Babylonians, so th...
