Career As A Paramedic
2007-11-19 08:49:00 What Is A Paramedic?Paramedics are certified emergency medical professionals who act in response to specific trauma related crises. They stabilize a patient's condition while being transported to a healthcare facility, generally by ambulance. If the patient's condition worsens during transit, paramedics can switch to advanced levels of treatment available in the ambulance. Usually, they transfer sick patients to the emergency unit. However, some states have the "Treat-and-Release" practice, whereby patients can be discharged if they recover. These protocols cannot be overlooked, but at times, paramedics have to make decisions that work in the best interest of their patients. They can also provide Advanced and Basic Life Support and Pediatric Life Support care.Paramedic SchoolsParamedic Schools or EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) Schools teach students the various skills and abilities that are required to become an emergency professional.Whenever an accident or a sudden life-thre... How to Improve Your Job Interview Skills
2007-11-19 08:31:00 ob interviews can be tough going, even for people who don't have problems talking about themselves or striking up conversations with total strangers. While virtually any book on job hunting will recommend doing a mock interview with someone you know - practicing standard question and answer routines -- there is nothing like real first-hand experienceAs far as I'm concerned, the best way to improve your interview skills, especially if you find you get very nervous and tongue-tied, is to simply go on more job interviews. If it's really bad, start with jobs you wouldn't take in a million years. That way you can stop worrying about actually getting the job and can spend your time simply experiencing the interview and trying out different choices for how to field questions. So just get yourself into at least three interviews. After the first interview, sit in your car or on the bus or at a coffee shop and try and remember everything they asked you. Write those questions down! Now go o... More About: Interview , Improve , Skills , Prove

tips to find online jobs
2007-11-19 08:17:00 i’ve lost count of the times someone has sent me an unsolicited resume. This one came with a transcript, but there was no cover letter. There was no information in the email as to why the person was sending me her job search materials or what she was attempting to apply for. I’m not hiring, I have no open positions. In fact, I have no clue why she wasted my time, and her own, and clogged up my email with multiple attachments as well as a message. The only thing the sender succeeded at doing was annoying me. If there’s one thing not to do when job searching, this is it. Instead, do yourself and your prospective employer a favor and follow the rules when you’re job seeking. I promise you that you’ll have much better luck with your job search and the employers will appreciate you more, as well.Focus Your Job SearchWhy would someone waste their valuable job search time, my time and the time of countless other people? I’m not quite sure, but, one of my pet peeves is people who... More About: Jobs , Tips , Find , Online

technical writing
2007-10-22 22:22:00 how i became ?To be sure the day got off to an inauspicious start. When the interview was set up I was told it would take several hours. I would be given tests during the interview. So, for several days before the interview date, I had taken books out of the public library about schematics and other stuff I thought they would expect me to know. I tried cramming for something I never really learned.Turns out, the testing involved a typing speed and accuracy test. (I was told my 40 wpm speed was decent considering I employed a "two-finger" method, which I still use. But no one questions the speed I employ in getting a manual done in time.) I was also tested on naming conventions for digital files (remember the eight character/three character convention that DOS and Windows demanded?). Not one question on schematics or symbols. Before I left Milwaukee I had to change a flat tire. And in changing the flat I busted a socket wrench. Not a good omen, was it?And then, when I wrote my follow-u... More About: Writing , Technical , Technical Writing , Technic

Recruitment Jobs: Creating Effective Adverts For The Internet
2007-10-12 18:52:00 There have never been so many options available for the recruitment consultant looking to advertise vacancies. Internet sites can be many times cheaper than paper adverts. In addition they can be far more effective, producing many more potential fee earning candidates. There are, however, some differences in how adverts should be written. A candidate viewing adverts on the internet can raise 100s of matching vacancies within seconds of applying a couple of filters on a site. This, versus the relatively slow plod rustling through the pages of a newspaper. To achieve a strong response on the internet a recruitment consultant needs to do more to differentiate his job.Unfortunately, the task of generate an advert is one of the less enjoyable parts opf the recruitment consultant’s role. Finding what career suits you
2007-09-08 00:05:00 By Kate SouthamAustralians will have up to three careers over their working life and some people will have even more. That means that for today's school students there is no need to panic about getting your career decision "right". Any career path you choose that helps you build valuable skills is "right" whether it is also right for life or for just for three to five years. For example, customer service skills, basic computer skills, teamwork, the ability to sell or even to persuade others and communication skills are used in nearly every job.Accountants should be good with numbers but they also have to talk to clients so people skills and strong verbal and written communication skills are very important.Who else needs to be good with people? Wow, how long a list could I write? Pretty much every job you can think of from nurses, police officers, and entertainers to ski instructors, teachers, lawyers, builders, security guards and hospitality workers. If you decide after a few years ... Career as a Technical Writer or Travel Writer
2007-09-07 23:55:00 Even experienced writers often get mixed up between on the difference between a professional relationship and a career. Getting a job as a writer for a magazine, website or a Fortune 500 company is no different (in the career sense) than getting a job as a photographer, engineer or janitor for the same employer. Although you lengthen your resume, you don't build your own platform - that belongs to the entity you are writing for. Even if you get some name recognition, which is rarely the case if you work as a technical writer, it doesn't mean much unless you are one of the top dogs at a major publication. Being "John Doe" who writes for the New Your Times or "Jane Doe" of Newsweek might help a little with a book proposal to a trade, but if the average person who reads those publications can't instantly place who you are, it's not career building material. If you leave that job for any reason, you're just another experienced writer with a resume standing in an unemployment line.T... More About: Travel , Technical , Career , Writer , Technic

2 Beliefs Essential For Success
2007-08-25 20:07:00 By : Gordon BryanWant to unlock your potential? Want to move forward to success? Well neither of these will happen in a month of Sundays without belief.I always harp on about attitude being the magic word, and belief is one attitude you MUST have. Not only that, but there are TWO types of beliefs needed! The first is belief that it will happen.Whatever your goal is, however you want to improve your life, whatever wealth you want, in order for any of it to come true, you need to believe that it *will* happen. You need to know this for a fact, not just some wishy-washy hope that it would be nice, but know for a fact that it can and will happen to YOU.The second belief is in yourself as a person, and your right to succeed and enjoy abundance.Abundance is all around, but most people do not tap into it, they don't grab their fair share, because they just don't believe. They either feel they are undeserving of the good things, or they believe that something or someone will wreck their plans... The Principles of Success
2007-08-25 19:53:00 by: Craig Lock"I'd rather attempt something great and fail... than try something ordinary and succeed."- inspiring words from Norman Vincent Peale (US preacher and author) What is success? I am not going to try to define success. I think a precise definition is impossible. Is it winning a Gold Medal at the Olympic Games or winning Wimbledon, or being awarded a Nobel prize? What else? I believe personal success could be anything at all--it does not have to involve public recognition. Who is more successful? A millionaire who is unhappy, or an unnoticed person who has led a simple, happy life? The simplest definition of success I think is 'to set out to do something and to succeed in doing it'. It really doesn't matter what, or how humble the undertaking is...Believe you can succeed and you will. Achieving success in whatever endeavor you choose may be the goal of life, because it gives you freedom from worry. Could that be?Success means different things to every one of us. Some ... A potential employer can tell immediately if you are the man or woman for this job by your body language. Although aggressiveness is a turn-off, being passive gives the indication that you are not sure of yourself or your qualifications. Keep eye contact when answering questions or when the interviewer is speaking directly to you. Smile occasionally to show your interest and enthusiasm.
