Youthfulness through face lift
2008-02-28 00:00:00
In continuation to me earlier post on giving a new look to your facial features, let me ask you all a question.Who is it that does not want to stay young forever? Probably there would be none. Aging brings with it wrinkles, dull skin, dark circles and lot more which is something that everybody would want to get rid off. Now there is a possibility to achieve this. Going for a face-lift can give you all this and much more. You can rest assured that a face lift should provide a more youthful and firm appearance to your face and should help you get rid of all those signs of aging that you always wanted to. Deciding to go in for a face-lift is a decision which you need to prepare yourself for both mentally and physically. But once you have gone through it you would feel a change in yourself. You would feel rejuvenated and find a altogether new energy.

Rhinoplasty - Good or, bad
2008-02-27 00:00:00
There were a couple of actresses, about whom I heard while I was in school, that were very ugly looking and then they did something to their nose and they because beautiful. It sounded as if they had a magic wand which would turn an ugly duckling into a beautiful princess. "I wished I too had one", I remember one of my friends telling me. Now after so many years, when I got to know about Rhinoplasty , I figured out what was it that they would have done. The debate still continues, if your should do something artificial to your face to enhance your beauty or, not. People would have their own principles, but the hard fact is that it is only attractiveness that counts. To be attractive, you might have to go in for a face-lift or, a Rhinoplasty. Nose forms a very important part of the features of your face. A prominent and well-formed nose would add to the attractiveness of your face. To go for it or, not is upto the person who wants to do it. But, if your wish to get it done it is alway...

Skin Care and Treatment
2008-02-25 00:00:00
I happened to meet one of my friends after a long time. She was voted as the most beautiful girl in the college at our farewell ceremony. So when I met her after years, I was shocked to to see her face full of scars and marks. The most beautiful was nowhere to be seen. This is what could happen to your skin if you do not take adequate care of it especially, if your skin type is "Oily". Oily skin care could be a problem, but if you make it a part of your routine, you would gradually find that it is easier that presumed. It is always advisable to consult an expert on oily skin treatment because they would advise you on measures that are specific to your skin. But you can always do some basic things like washing your face with a pH-balanced soap twice a day or, whenever you come home after travelling. If you have acnes and pimples on your face, you need to ensure that you take extra care of your face. You should not peel or, puncture pimples using your nails as this could result in per...

Pets and their care
2008-02-25 00:00:00
Pets are an integral part of a family these days.I have seen lots of families keeping pets because they love you, care for you and are concerned about you much more than anybody else in the family would do. Their company provides a sense of belongingness. They are selfless and all that they expect for you is love and nothing else. As a pet owner your responsibility towards your pet is not just limited to keeping him at home. You need to devote some time towards pet care and health. It is not a "Quick second" thing. Feeding your pet with good and healthy food, bathing him, giving him medicines and vitamin supplements when required, taking him for a walk in the morning or, the evening all constitute part of pet care. It is worth spending some time on all of this because these pets repay you multiple folds. Pets are adorable and lovable and they provide you with the warmth and affection you would normally not find in human beings these days. By ensuring that spend adequate time on cari...

The transition from a town to a city
2008-02-04 00:00:00
I still remember that day at college. The elections were just over and the president and other office bearers were rejoicing their win in the elections. The other junior office bearers were to be elected. The elected office bearers walked into the hall where we were all seated and took their respective seats. The lecturers panel walked in. A peon walked in with a couple of covers with something in it. A sigh of awe struck the entire hall when he pulled something out of the packets. They were specially designed blazers in a brown shade for the office bearers. This was happening for the first time in the history of the college. The next few days saw everyone waiting for a trial wear of the balzer. Pictures were being clicked wearing these blazers as if there was no tomorrow. My college was in a small town where the term "latest" meant whatever came to our town, irrespective of when it came. That day at college was the first day when we saw a blazer beiong worn. It is only a few years ...

That Moment to Relax
2008-01-29 00:00:00
Life has become so hectic that we have forgotten what the term "relax" means. Family is now secondary and time to spend some time with them is not a part of our itinerary. But is this what we promised our family. Probably not. More than fulfilling a promise, taking time out to spend with them is a refreshing experience.Choosing a destination could be the most difficult decision and a wrong destination could ruin this entire experience. But with so much of information available on the internet, assistance in choosing this dream destination is not limited. As we talk about destination, what better destination than a getaway to an island that makes the presence of being close to nature, a reality. Beaches and water, sunbathing and water-surfing and many such activities, one would know the true sense of relaxing. One of my friends happened to visit an island beach a few days back and wouldnt stop talking about the time spent there. For people who would want to spend such beautiful time in...

A visit to Qutab Minar
2008-01-10 00:00:00
A few days back I happened to travel to Qutab Minar in New Delhi, an architectural wonder and was grieved to see the condition of the monument. There was nothing being done in terms of preservation of the monument and a few of the buildings were in ruins. I captured a few photographs of the monument with my Fujifilm Finepix S9600 which are available on a photosite. These thumbnails are from this site. Check out this slideshow.Trip to Qutab Minar

Living or dying
2008-01-09 00:00:00
There used to be days when people lived their lifes. But now there are none. Our lives are in such a fast lane that we have forgotten to live. In an attempt to live our lives to the fullest, we have stopped living our life.Moments that we should have cherished pass away and we keep gazing, only to regret later that we lost something.

The Motivational Session
2007-12-27 00:00:00
I happened to attend this motivational session conducted by my organization for managers on the day of Christmas. The speaker was a renowned motivational guru. Before the session began I found this man of short height explaining something to a person and by the sheer look of him I could guess that he has to be the speaker. He had a pleasing personality and a confidence that was lacking in the rest of the people who were present in the room that day. Our shoulders told the story and he stood there with his shoulders upright, with a confident grin on his face. The session started and it went on for some time and we forgot all that was the normal routine in our work life. We were all managers and were stressed out when we entered the room but gradually there was a feeling of relaxation that was creeping into us. The speaker was humorous and entertaining and we, for a minute felt that we were indeed motivated. We left the session, discussing how energetic the speaker was and felt that t...

The push to success
2007-12-26 00:00:00
"The eagle gently coaxed her offspring toward the edge of the nest. Her heart quivered with conflicting emotions as she felt their resistance to her persistent nudging. Why does the thrill of soaring have to begin with the fear of falling? she thought. This ageless question still remained unanswered for her. As in the tradition of the species, her nest was located high upon the shelf of a sheer rock face. Below there was nothing but air to support the wings of each child. Is it possible that this time it will not work? she thought. Despite her fears, the eagle knew it was time. Her parental mission was all but complete. There remained one final task the push. The eagle drew courage from an innate wisdom. Until her children discovered their wings, there was no purpose for their lives. Until they learned how to soar, they would fail to understand the privilege of having been born an eagle. The push was the greatest gift she had to offer. It was her supreme act of love. And so, one by...

How many more such blasts?
2007-11-27 00:00:00
The picture of bodies lying scattered here and there is not new to any NEWS channel in India because we are probably the worst terrorism affected coutries in the world. Terrorists can walk into anything and anywhere and plant a bomb which will go off killing scores. The NEWS channels, the government and we the people would mourn for the dead for a few days and then forget everything and move on as if nothing happened only to see the same thing again in a few days. The below photograph is one such blast from Uttar Pradesh. All that we could see in all the NEWS channels were dying people and agony all around. The State government has the Central government and the Intelligence agencies to blame and the vice versa. But what about the people who died and who were injured, some injured to such an extent that they would be handicapped for life. What is it that they get, a compensation of Rs.50,000 from the state government. Is that enough? We have always been crying that other powerful co...
The Last Rays of light
2007-11-19 00:00:00
As the deep breathes, you hear no more,And slight gasps take their place,As my heart beats subsides,As if they forgot their pace,There are no more words, mouth can speak,And all you hear are sighs of despair,I want you to open my doorAnd open it wide,Open it wide,That I can see the last rays of light Dreams, when I see no more,Sleep, I would get no more,Eyes try heard to see a face familiar,Ears wish to hear someone very near,When darkness covers the face of the day,And even the last lights starts to fade away,I look to my door,To see it open wide,I see it open wide,An wait for the last rays of light.

Politicians or, Politico-DONS
2007-11-13 00:00:00
This photograph is of one of our leaders; a politician who is leading one of the most mineral rich states in India. For me a leader is somebody whom I would emulate, I would want to follow, whom I would consider my ideal. Is this person in the photograph worthy of it. Read below an excerpt about him in one of the leading dailies and I bet you would not want to emulate him. But alas, he is somebody who is running the affairs of the country. The dailies very proudly writes, "Politic ian turned DON". But who made this man a politician, a leader. We the foolish citizens in this democracy. "Such is Anant's terror that his mere gaze at a building sends shivers down the occupants' spine. The other day he was driving through in his Mercedes when he stopped by a building and got out - almost simultaneously the cops got a phone call with a quavering voice at the other end complaining that Chhote Sarkar was looking in the direction of his house." - Excerpt from the Times of India. The shelf of mine
2007-11-06 00:00:00
I once arranged that shelf of mine,That shelf of mine with books I love,And I read,And I read through every line,To the last page from the first,Books that I had read through,And would want to touch again,Books that were chapters in my life,Chapters of joy and sorrows,Happiness and pain, Of friends and relations,Of people who had come into my life,Like a cool wind or, breeze,And gave me that warmth I ever longed for,And people who suddenly went out of my life,I don't know where, I don't know why,Away they went to far off places,Where my letters and messages could never fly, Leaving those chapters behind,Chapters that I arranged as books,And put into that shelf of mine,Books that I had completed,And would want to read, when I am,Lonely and thinking of them,Books that were chapters in my life,Books that I had completed,And would perhaps like to read again,So I arrange that shelf of mine.

Smorty - Earning by blogging
2007-10-26 00:00:00
I was browsing through different websites that came up while I was searching Google. A lot of them were very interesting and had real good offers for part-time bloggers like me. I had always seen blogging as a hobby and nothing more than that. But these offers I came across on the web made me think twice. These websites made me realise that I could get paid for blogging. I came to know that there was more to it that just a hobby and that I could blog for money. I learnt that I could advertise on blogs and earn money from them. Doing this wasn't difficult either. A lot of sites had to offer a lot. Some had very catchy campaigns and ads and I finally decided to sign up for a few of them. One amongst them was "Smorty". A very well designed website caught my attention. I signed up with them and found that the process was one of the easiest I could find. Simple and easy steps to signing up and adding your blogs along with a very easy to understand control panel was the first attractions...

Teary Questions
2007-10-20 00:00:00
Eyes opened wide for a moment, And then it closed, Eyelids blinked just for a while, Perhaps to cry, or was it to smile, I wonder, But then that drop of pearl, Just peeped out of the eye, And asked me a questions few, Should I fall and shall I die? Shall I drop to the earth and shatter into pieces, But before I do, Could you tell me a reason why? I had no words and I had no answers, I could just watch it happen, Like a dumb spectator, I saw it fall into the earth, And shatter into pieces, A moment ago, it was here, And then I saw it disappear, I wonder, What the answers could be, To questions a few my tears asked me.

The Solitude of Alexander Selkirk
2007-10-14 00:00:00
I am monarch of all I survey,My right there is none to dispute,From the center all round to the sea,I am lord of the fowl and the brute.O Soli tude ! where are the charmsThat sages have seen in thy face?Better dwell in the midst of alarmsThan reign in this horrible place. I am out of humanity's reach,I must finish my journey alone,Never hear the sweet music of speech,--I start at the sound of my own.The beasts that roam over the plainMy form with indifference see; They are so unacquainted with man,Their tameness is shocking to me. Society, Friendship, and Love,Divinely bestow'd upon man,Oh, had I the wings of a dove,How soon would I taste you again! My sorrows I then might assuageIn the ways of religion and truth,Might learn from the wisdom of age,And be cheer'd by the sallies of youth. Ye winds that have made me your sport,Convey to this desolate shoreSome cordial endearing reportOf a land I shall visit no more! My friends--do they now and then sendA wish or a thought after me?Oh, t...

The Solitary Reaper
2007-10-05 00:00:00
Behold her, single in the field,Yon solitary Highland Lass!Reaping and singing by herself;Stop here, or gently pass!Alone she cuts and binds the grain,And sings a melancholy strain;O listen! for the Vale profoundIs overflowing with the sound. No Nightingale did ever chauntMore welcome notes to weary bandsOf travellers in some shady haunt,Among Arabian sands:A voice so thrilling ne'er was heardIn spring-time from the Cuckoo-bird,Breaking the silence of the seasAmong the farthest Hebrides. Will no one tell me what she sings?--Perhaps the plaintive numbers flowFor old, unhappy, far-off things,And battles long ago:Or is it some more humble lay,Familiar matter of to-day?Some natural sorrow, loss, or pain,That has been, and may be again? Whate'er the theme, the Maiden sangAs if her song could have no ending;I saw her singing at her work,And o'er the sickle bending;--I listened, motionless and still; And, as I mounted up the hill,The music in my heart I bore,Long after it was heard no more.

The Mahatma
2007-10-05 00:00:00
Exactly 60 years ago, a lean man clad in a dhoti took on the mighty english empire, without any arms or, weapons. He won the freedom for our country with his simplicity and his mantra of non-violence. The youth has no given this mantra a new name-"gandhigiri".We might call it with whatever name we would want to, but the important question is, "Are we still following those simple principles". My answer to this question would be a big "NO". We are not following his principles. We and our political leaders would flaunt our khadi dresses, or deliver speeches on the mahatma, but we seldom care to follow his simple principles.Be it a simple brushing of my vehicle to another one, or a love-affair between my sister and a person whom I do not like, we prefer to settle it once and for all. Murder them. From children who are less than 16 years old to elderly who are above 80 years,we have finally taken to the killing way to achieve our goals. Is this what the mahatma taught us. Probably not. O...

Unsung Poetry
2007-10-03 00:00:00
Beside the river flowing,Underneath the tree,I used to see her everyday,She as beautiful as poetry. When I crossed her everyday,She would blink at me,And when she heard me singing at times,She would pass a smile at me,Sitting underneath the tree,She as beautiful as poetry. I knew my songs she loved very much,I knew my words she liked very much,But never ever did she utter a word,Why was she so, I often wondered,She, sitting underneath that tree,She, as beautiful as poetry. I once asked what her name was,She showed some signs with her hand,Which I could hardly understand,And then she wrote her name on the sand, "Anupama", I said to myself, "that is true",'Coz nothing compares to you,Your silence is sweeter than,The songs sung by a cuckoo,There she sat underneath the tree,She as beautiful as an unsung poetry. *Meaning of Anupama (Hindi term)= something that has no comparison

A Red Red Rose
2007-10-03 00:00:00
My love is like a red, red rose That's newly sprung in June : My love is like the melody That's sweetly played in tune. As fair art thou, my bonnie lass, So deep in love am I : And I will love thee still, my dear, Till a' the seas gang dry. Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear, And the rocks melt wi' the sun : And I will love thee still, my dear, While the sands o' life shall run. And fare thee weel, my only love, And fare thee weel a while ! And I will come again, my love, Thou' it were ten thousand mile.

Home They Brought Her Warrior Dead
2007-09-25 00:00:00
Home they brought her warrior dead:She nor swooned, nor uttered cry:All her maidens, watching, said,"She must weep or she will die." Then they praised him, soft and low,Called him worthy to be loved,Truest friend and noblest foe;Yet she neither spoke nor moved. Stole a maiden from her place,Lightly to the warrior stepped,Took the face-cloth from the face;Yet she neither moved nor wept. Rose a nurse of ninety years,Set his child upon her knee--Like summer tempest came her tears--"Sweet my child, I live for thee.

The Last Laugh
2007-09-17 00:00:00
Cricket is in our blood. We live and die cricket. But then why is it that we are being called as chokers. Why is it that we let it go at the final frontier? Probably it has something to do in our genes. The just concluded India Vs England series was one such example. We were 3-1 behind and then we played like champions to equalize at 3-3 only to choke in the final decider and loose convincingly. We could only score about 187 odd runs and couldn't threaten the English batting line up at all. We lost the match. Is this because we lack the killer instinct. Probably yes. We have always lacked it. Just imagine a match where 2 of our best in form and top most batsmen being given out by an umpire by mistake and we walking out of the match because of this just taking it into our stride. How much acceptable is it? Had this been with any other country, there would have been a protest. Look at the English captain who in the 6th ODI protested at the umpire when he called for a 3rd umpire de...

A Lost Winner
2007-09-17 00:00:00
The smoke had subsided,And the noises dead,Some of them rejoiced,And yet others fled,Victory for some,And loss for the other,I wonder, Oh! God,Who were the looser? And who were the others. I saw an old man,Against his stick, stooping,Barely could he walk,Searching for something,He was on the victors' side,Yet he had lost something,I wonder, Oh! God,Is he a looser who lost everything?Or, a victor who gained nothing. I saw a woman in a corner,Quiet she was, yet sobbing,No shoulder to lay her head on,Ahead lay, a life so tiring,She was on the looser' side,Whom did she loose to,She was wondering,I wonder, Oh! God,What game is this,That a looser loses once and for allAnd a victor gains none at all. I saw a child in her bed,Innocence in her eyes bearing,Waiting for her father to come,Sweet tunes of lullaby bearing,I wonder, which side she was,She had not played a thing,And yet she had lost it all,I wonder, Oh! God,Why do we play game like these,Where victors don't stand,And looser don'...

CHAK DE- India, A hockey win at last
2007-09-13 00:00:00
Finally, India learnt how to win in their once national sport - Hockey . Is it that they had forgotten how to play or, is it that they had forgotten how to win, it would be difficult to answer the question. But if just by watching a movie like CHAK De, INDIA this Indian team who had never in the near future even peeped into the finals of a major tournament, could win one of those ever eluding trophies by beating a strong team like that of Korea convincingly, then it is a must for all of us to watch this movie. Not taking away any credit frfom the team, who for once at least played as a team, I would still say that this movie is one of those few lessons in leadership that probably no classroom session could teach any of the leaders. Whatever it is, the moral of the story is WE WON.

I recently joined AGLOCO because of a friend recommended it to me. I am now promoting it to you because I like the idea and I want you to share in what I think will be an exciting new Internet concept. AGLOCO's story is simple:Do you realize how valuable you are? Advertisers, search providers and online retailers are paying billions to reach you while you surf. How much of that money are you making? NONE!AGLOCO thinks you deserve a piece of the action.AGLOCO collects money from those companies on behalf of its members. (For example, Google currently pays AOL 10 cents for every Google search by an AOL user. And Google still has enough profit to pay $1.6 billion dollars for YouTube, an 18-month old site full of content that YouTube's users did not get paid for! AGLOCO will work to get its Members their share of this and more.AGLOCO is building a new form of online community that they call an Economic Network. They are not only paying Members their fair share, but they're building a...

I see her at times
2007-09-02 00:00:00
I see her at times,There sitting lonely,Nothing she utters nor, whispers,A statue so so, stonily,And I wonder what she is,Wordsworth's "Solitary Reaper",Or, is she, "The lady of the dark". Her face narrates stories lot,And her smiles sing songs a lot,A melancholy tune at times it is,That sadness had brought,And then a tune so happy,That no teachers ought taught. She is a question at timesAnd then she is the answer,Sobs sounds like weeping chimes,In the anklets of a tired dancer. There I see her, crying in solitude sometimes,And then I see her, smiling away to glory,She lifts her face, and smile at times,A smile so deep that narrates a story,No, she is not the "Solitary Reaper",Nor, is she "The Lady of the dark",I wonder and wonder what she is,A story so different and a story untold,Unheard ever and a kind seldom written.

If Tomorrow Never Comes
2007-09-02 00:00:00
Today,I stretched my hands far alongAnd I yearned to embrace the air with my arms,To feel powerful as a colossus,'Coz, if tomorrow never comes. Today,I spread my hands wide apartAnd took a leap far above into the sky,To reach far across so high,'Coz, if tomorrow never comes. Today,I smiled with smiles all over,And enjoyed as if the world is not enough,To bring smiles to a few more faces,'Coz, if tomorrow never comes. Today,I wept my heart out And teary lullabies did fill all over,To brighten a few sorrow-stricken faces,'Coz, if tomorrow never comes. Today,My heart raced faster than ever,And the lup-dups filled the air,To let a few more hearts beat,'Coz, I knew tomorrow will never come.
