I Joined PETA..
2009-03-17 09:36:00 I received this forwarded email a couple of days back. As my habit is, I would have just deleted the email, just because it had a “Fwd:” in the subject and I knew it was one of those chain emails that I hate to spend time reading. Just that one word in the subject caught my attention and I opened the email. The word was “PETA”. I knew it would be carrying some information. I opened the email which had to do with PETA’s initiatives towards prevention of fur trade. There was a link to a video which was a video captured by an undercover investigator in one the chinese fur farms. I was shocked at what I saw. Fur farmers peeling live animals of their skins and stamping on live animals to kill them. I couldn’t sleep that night. I wondered at how cruel human beings can be. God created us as one of his best creations and would have thought that we would act as protectors to the other living beings on earth, but what we were doing was something else. For a... The Slumdog Millionaire Fairytale
2009-02-27 19:37:00 Slumdog Millionaire When I was a kid a fairytale for me was the story of “Thumbalina” or, “Snow White and Dwarfs”. Times have changed. For my nephew, who is 6 years old, a fairytale is the story of Jamal Malik - The Slumdog Millionaire. Yes, indeed times have changed. Rahman at Oscars After all the Oscars and the Bafta awards, I have still not come to terms with what has been happening. Till about 4-5 months back, “The Slumdog Millionaire” was just another movie. All of a sudden in such short time, it has become one of the most talked about movie. With 8 Oscars in the kitty, it is indeed worth being the talk of the town. But what made the movie an Oscar winner is still a question mark at least for a common man like me. You read the Slumdog Millionaire reviews and you feel as if it is an amazing piece of craftsmanship. But would it have been the same had the movie not been nominated for these prestigious awards? Worth wondering. Danny Boyle So what... More About: Fairytale
A promising model Mariana Bridi da Costa dies
2009-01-31 19:37:00 One month ago, 20-year-old beauty queen Mariana Bridi was living the dream of many young Brazilian women, trading her striking good looks for a modeling career that promised to lift her family out of poverty. Then she contracted a seemingly ordinary urinary tract infection. The bacteria spread quickly and inexorably through her body, proving to be extremely resistant to drugs. In a desperate bid to save her life, doctors amputated her hands and feet. But by Saturday she was dead. “God is comforting our hearts because he wanted her to be with him now,” her father Agnaldo Costa told reporters outside the hospital where his daughter died. “I can’t accept that my daughter left us so soon.” Bridi’s Web site says she began modeling at age 14 with the hope of giving “a dignified life to her parents.” Her father is a taxi driver and her mother a house cleaner. By the age of 18, she was well on her way: In 2007 and 2008, she was a finalist in t... More About: Model , Dies

Miami Ink Tattoos - Miami Ink Gallery
2009-01-15 01:00:00 Tattoos are what is in vogue today. It is a fashion statement for most but it is a religious sentiment for few others. Most youngsters prefer getting their favorite tattoo done on their arms and back. But what separates a real good tattoo from an ordinary one is the choice of tattoo designs. How would you want to go to your tattoo designer? Prepared, with a design in your hand, or, without even having decided as what to go in for. It is your choice how you want to but, each decision has a uniqueness to it. If you go to him with your design, you know what you are going in for and it is your personality that has decided on your choice. But if it is the other way round, then it is the designers personality that is going to reflect when he completes the tattoo. Your tattoo has to reflect your personality and so the best way is to decide which design to go for before even you have decided the ink. Miami Ink Gallery - Miami ink tattoos are one of the most preferred tattoos these days fol... More About: Miami Ink , Tattoos

Kawasaki Syndrome Travolta Son death
2009-01-09 19:37:00 John Travolta’s 16 year old Son, Jett Travolta died a few days back. The Travolta’s said that he was suffering from a disease called as “Kawasaki Syndrome ” and all of a sudden, the term has caught the headlines of every magazine and news website.I was a bit curious to know what this disease was and hence I dug through everything that was available. The disease had strange symptoms and was not that widely spread, hence the availability of very little knowledge. Kawasaki syndrome is also known as ‘lymph node syndrome’, ‘mucocutaneous node disease’, ‘infantile polyarteritis’ and ‘Kawasaki disease’. It is an inflammation (vasculitis) of the middle-sized arteries. It affects many organs, including the skin, mucous membranes, lymph nodes, and blood vessel walls, but the most serious effect is on the heart. It is called so, because it was first described by Tomisaku Kawasaki in 1967 in Japan. Kawasaki Syndrome is predo... More About: Death
The best poem I ever read
2009-01-08 01:00:00 This is a poem written by some anonymous person on the effects of drinking and driving. There could have been many such instances that we might not even have known. But the pain that the person who has suffered that loss is going through would be un-imaginable. For all those who drink and drive, let this poem be an eye-opener. I went to a party Mom,I remembered what you said. You told me not to drink, Mom,So I drank soda instead. I really felt proud inside, Mom,The way you said I would.I didn’t drink and drive, Mom,Even though the others said I should. I know I did the right thing, Mom,I know you are always right. Now the party is finally ending, Mom,As everyone is driving out of sight. As I got into my car, Mom,I knew I’d get home in one piece.Because of the way you raised me,So responsible and sweet. I started to drive away, Mom,But as I pulled out into the road,The other car didn’t see me, Mom,And hit me like a load. As I lay there on the pavement, Mom,I hear the ... More About: Read , Poem
I am Satisfied
2008-11-24 19:37:00 It was an autumn after I passed out of my professional college and I was frustrated with being jobless. I felt I had enough qualifications to get a good job but, there I was hopping companies in search of a job. Nothing was working out. Finally I went in for an interview to a home cleaning job and I got it. I knew that the package was extremely good just because the job was dirty. But I had no choice. After about 2 years in the job, I got a mail from my college inviting me for a batch mates meet. It was sunday, and I was extremely anxious to meet my batchmates. After an evening enjoying with them, we decided we would meet again, just the five of us who were the best of friends, as it was a long time that we met.As we sat at the coffee table the next evening, we discussed a lot of things and eventually came onto the most preferred topic of discussion for a group - cribbing about everything that is dissatisfied about their jobs and life. All my friends were working in good organizations...
The thirst for a medal
2008-08-24 02:51:00 India finally managed to get a couple of medals at the Olympics. Three sons of the nation saved our face from yet another humiliation. A couple of days back there was an entire nation praying for the success of three boxers who managed to sneek into the quarter-finals of their respective category. All of a sudden there was so much hype with television channels interviewing their parents and friends and celebrations all around as if we had won the Gold medal. Two days into all this unnecessary hype, which I am sure would have made these poor players all the more nervous, 2 of them lost in their quarter-final bouts and the 3rd one finally managed to get into the semi-finals. Now the entire nation is happy again and content with even a bronze. This has been the story for almost the past 50-60 odd years for India and this nation with a population of 1.13 billion, boasting that they are the 2nd most populous country in the world has not produced a single Gold medal in any of the Olympics.... Beijing Olympics - The beginnning of a 24 days penance
2008-08-24 02:51:00 It was 08:08 PM on the 8th of August 2008. A point in the day when all counters of life were at '8' - a number some considered auspicious and yet others not so auspicious, the reason for which, I really do not know. Beijing was lit up with fireworks and lightings and the Bird's Nest hosted the grand opening ceremony of the Olympics Games. China has spent a huge amount of money on hosting this Olympics which is going to be an event spanning 24 days in the month of August. There are quite a few gold medals to be won in the games. The total cost of the celebrations in the opening ceremony of the Games was about $70,00,000. The next 24 days is going to be festive season for everyone. Television news channels which had not had any scoops for the past few days will have plenty of things to cover. They would for sure make huge money covering the entire event. So will the sponsors, not to talk about the participants, who have spent their lives waiting for this event. It i... More About: Beijing Olympics , Days
An hour in an Online Casino
2008-08-24 02:51:00 I have been reading about online casinos for some time now. You would also find quite a few advertisements on websites that promote online games, but I had never had the chance to participate in one till yesterday. One of my friends had introduced me to an online casino that he was a frequent visitor to. My first reaction was not very positive but a few minutes in one of them and my perception was changed. The time that I spent was indeed quite intriguing and interesting. I was so much absorbed into it that I didn't even realize that I had spent more than an hour playing. Every step was challenging. The best part about online casinos is the fact that you would just not want to stop playing once you start off with it. There are quite a few good websites that offer online casinos. These casinos are well designed, user friendly and provide enough help to beginners. You can visit any of these online casinos and I can assure you that the experience would be amazing. Winning the consistent way
2008-08-24 02:51:00 "Winners don't do different things; They do things differently". This is a statement that any book of positive thinking would start with. Nobody would want to disagree to the fact that this is true and is important if you want to win. Another statement that one would hear a lot of times is that, "maintaining the winning momentum would help you keep winning". Now if you read the above two statements one after the other, doesn't it sound contradictory. If winners are the ones who do things differently, then what is the relevance in maintaining a winning momentum. Even if they loose once, they would know how to win the next time because they would know that they have to do something different if they are to win. As I sat before my television watching a game of cricket, the last of the league matches in a tournament, between the mighty Australians and the once mighty West Indies, I heard the commentators say that the Australians would want to maintain the winning momentum before they ... An Ironical Law
2008-08-24 02:51:00 Destroying wildlife is a crime but is protecting wildlife also a crime. This story is of a poor man who tried to save a sloth bear who was orphaned. He brought the bear cub home, fed it and cared for it like he cared for his only daughter. But what he got in return from the law was torture. When the wildlife officials got to know of the bear and Munda, they arrested him for violating wildlife laws and put him in jail. They sent the bear to the zonn and the bear has stopped eating food. The orphaned daughter of Munda was packed and sent to a boarding school. Was the right treatment metted out to Munda? The wildlife officials have not been able to do anything to the poachers and hunters who have been hunting down tigers like anything. But they would enforce everything in the law to a poor man like that of Munda. Let us unite together to ensure that Munda is united with his bear and family.
The DTC revolution
2008-08-24 02:51:00 The Delhi Transport Corporation is said to be the largest bus network in Asia. But the condition in which this transport system was maintained did not live upto this. A travel in one of the DTC buses was a nightmare but a lesser one as compared to the privately owned and run 'Blueline' buses. A shabby conductor sitting in one corner of a hot baking oven, with less or, no interest in handing over a ticket to the commuter is a normal scenario. The driver would not bother to stop the bus even at bus stops where there is a long queue of people waiting to board the bus. As far as the buses were concerned there maintenence was worth appreciating. Once, I was standing next to a DTC bus when i was accidently pushed by a passer-by and I fell over to the side of the bus. The metal body of the bus was in such a shape that I ended up getting a couple of stitches in my arm. No bus was without a torn body. A travel in one of these buses which were the so-called 'Lifeline' of Delhi transport w... More About: Revolution
I Joined Social Spark
2008-06-10 00:00:00 I joined Social Spark a few days back. Now what is Social Spark could be the obvious question right? In one line the answer would be that, "Social Spark is an exciting place where I monetize my blog, make friends, enjoy and all this with complete honesty". Social Spark is another effort from Izea to help bloggers who are interested in making money from their blogs. I had received an invitation to join when they were in the beta stage. I had a fair idea of what should be on offer but when I first stepped into Social Spark, I found that there was much more than what I thought was on offer. SocialSpark offers more than enough opportunities to we bloggers and best of all being a part of Social Spark not only helps me increase the number of visitors to my site but also pays me well. The opportunities are fair to all. All the while when I am making money from my blogs and am increasing the amount of traffic, I am also making quite a few friends on the internet who give me fair reviews ab...
World Environment Day
2008-06-07 00:00:00 Today is the "World Environment Day". Fliers, posters, banners, mailers and many more such things are on the internet and everywhere. A handful of people are working hard to generate a bit of awareness in people towards our environment. Our environment is deteriorating with every passing day. But we just do not want to bother about it. Mother Nature keeps pinching us every now and then with a slight shake of the earth or, a sudden downpour, but we are not bothered to care about these hints. We are busy destroying everything around us, the balance in nature, the flora and fauna and everything. There are those few people out there who have done everything they could to make us understand the importance of saving our environment. When they felt that we were still not bothered they thought that they would comemmorate a day to our environment and create that hype so that we at least spend a minute in that day to think about our environment. But we are still not bothered. In such a situa...
The Story of a new blast
2008-05-26 00:00:00 In one of my earlier post I had discussed about the blast at Mumbai. Its is been more than a year since then, and here we have the latest blast at Jaipur. In this long one year our government is yet to start their initiatives against these terrorists. Condolences, political visits to the site and everything else is still on, but ask them what is the action they have taken to prevent these things from happening again and you would not find an answer. At times I wonder what could be the reason to this? Probably the reason is that in the recent past there has been no instances of terrorist attacks or, blasts where a renowned politician has been killed. Oh! so that says it all. Then what is the need to panick and ponder over security measures. Just relax my dear politicians, till it happens. Just a couple of days before the blasts, there was news that the Border Security Force thwarted an attempt by infiltrators aided by the Pakistan military enter the Indian territory. The next day, th... More About: Story , The Story , Blast
The Trip to Naini Tal
2008-05-26 00:00:00 The summers in Delhi was at its peak and the temperature was the highest in a few years. the heat was unbearable. That weekend for a long one for me as I was fortunate enough to get three weekly-offs together. This made it the perfect moment to plan for a weekend getaway to Naini Tal. Naini Tal was about 320 Km from Delhi and the drive was joyous. We crossed villages in Moradabad and Hapur and saw some beautiful fields on the way before we reached Naini tal at around 0325hrs on 10th May 2008. We had started off for the trip at around 0620hrs the same day. We reached late by almost an hour because our car had a flat tyre twice on the way. Nevertheless the tiredness vanished at the sheer sight of Naini Tal. Surrounded by mountains on all the four sides, there was this beautiful town of naini Tal situated on the banks of the lake Naini. The weather was foggy bu we were there to enjoy. So we checked into our hotel and dropped our luggage and set off for a cool boating experience in the ... More About: Trip
Traffic - The Squidoo way
2008-05-18 00:00:00 When I first started to blog, my feeling was that my blog would be read by a thousand visitors from the first day itself. Though the reason why I started blogging was because I wanted a medium to express myself, I still yearned for people to visit my blog and read what I wrote. After a few days of blogging, I found that nobody was visiting my blog. Nobody knew about my blog and my blog was lost amongst the hundred thousand other websites on the web. I realized that generating traffic and sending them to your webiste is not a child's play. It needs some serious work. But the problem was that I did not know, what was the work involved. I did not want to spend money on advertising because my blog was not something that was intended to generate revenue. As I browsed through the internet, I stumbled upon a website called "Squidoo " which let users creat a one-page website on topics of their interest. Because it was something new for me, I registered for a new account on Squidoo. I create... More About: Traffic
Blog-for-bucks cheaters
2008-05-18 00:00:00 I had never wanted to blog for money and that was not my objective when I started to blog. But as I matured as a blogger, I learnt about paid-blogging and accepted a few projects from a few paid-blogging companies. That is when I received a mail from a "Skylar Sinclaire" from an email address 'bigbucks@blog-for-bucks.com' requesting for a few posts in my blog for some money. I had no reasons to doubt their integrity and agreed to the project. They agreed to pay me on a date after about 15 days from the date I made the posts. I submitted the posts and waited patiently for the payment till the due date. When I did not receive any communication or, payment from them, I wrote to the email from where I received the post-requests. I received no reply for this mail and subsequent mails that I sent. Only then did I realize that I had been cheated. These scoundrels request posts and agree to pay you at a much later date so that the links are indexed and their purpose is solved. They t... 2008-05-09 00:00:00 Camera....Lights.....Action..... You would now not be able to see your favorite character on the big screen drinking or, even holding a glass of wine or, champagne. For a moment just imagine, the thespian actor Dilip Kumar, or, Shah Rukh Khan in the role of 'Devdas' without the glass of whisky. Imagine a dialogue where Devdas says that, "Ma asked me to forget Paro, The world now askes me to forget drinking", without the word "drinking" in it. Wondering why all this imagination!!!! Thanks to our beloved health minister, Mr. Anbumoni Ramadoss, who these days have nothing to do. After having ousted his biggest rival Venugopal, the AIIMS chief, it seems he is short of work these days. So he thought why not see what the Indian film industry is doing these days. Isn't it surprising to see a health minister doing these foolish things. Shouldn't they set their own home right before playing a moral police on these silly things? The Confidence Quotient
2008-05-09 00:00:00 It was the starting of the Indian Premier League. The entire tournament involved huge money. There were a lot of good players playing for the various participating teams and these players were being paid huge amounts of money. Because the tournament involved such huge amounts of money, the expectations were also high. There were certain teams studded with stars and there were certain other that had no or, less tsart in their teams. These teams were hence ranked based on their star value. Once such team was the "Rajasthan Royals". They were being called as the "underdogs". With no so-called stars in their team, theirs was the only team without a coach. A team filled with young domestic players were up against star studded teams. It was the first match for the "Rajasthan Royals". As the match ended, I started to realize the reason why this team was being called the "underdogs". The Rajasthan royals had lost, though not by a huge margin. I felt, this team cannot win. The time to relax
2008-05-01 00:00:00 Work-life balance is no more to be seen these days. It is only work, work and work. But in pursuing our dream career what we forget, is our family who are ready to pay anything to spend that few minutes with us. But the question to be asked is, are we able to spend quality time with our family? It is high time that we did it. Take that time off from your work today and set off with your family for a vacation. It took me some time to take this brave decision, but I was fortunate that I did. As I discussed it with my boss, he asked me, "Where are you planning to spend your vacation?". I did not have the faintest of idea of a good vacation destination but I had heard a lot about Hawaii and the so the response was spontaneous, "Hawaii", I said. My boss then said, "In that case I would have lot of information to offer you because, I had been to hawaii a month back". "Damn lucky", I thought cursing him because of the fact that he was able to take out time for his family but, I was always ... More About: Time , Relax , The Time
The BRT Corridor Drama
2008-05-01 00:00:00 Another 100 Crore has been wasted and another huge and much hyped about project is on the verge of abandonment. The BRT corridor has turned out to be a major flop with traffic congestion increasing and utter chaos ruling on the stretch. The efficiency of the planners in the government is under question again. Was this required? Why is it that measures to reduce traffic congestion are proving to be in-effective? There are multiple reasons to it. The first and foremost is that adequate research of the situation in hand is not done and a plan is drawn which when implemented throws everything in tantrums. Projects are designed and implemented, not for the benefit of the people or, to reduce traffic congestion but to ensure that the ministers and member of parliaments get a smooth ride. the biggest proof of this is the flyovers constructed in the past few years. Not one of them has helped in reducing traffic jams but only helps people who normally travel long distance and who else ar... More About: Drama , Corridor
Ode to the West Wind
2008-05-01 00:00:00 I O wild West Wind , thou breath of Autumn's being,Thou, from whose unseen presence the leaves deadAre driven, like ghosts from an enchanter fleeing, Yellow, and black, and pale, and hectic red,Pestilence-stricken multitudes: O thou,Who chariotest to their dark wintry bed The winged seeds, where they lie cold and low,Each like a corpse within its grave, untilThine azure sister of the Spring shall blow Her clarion o'er the dreaming earth, and fill(Driving sweet buds like flocks to feed in air)With living hues and odors plain and hill: Wild Spirit, which art moving everywhere;Destroyer and preserver; hear, oh, hear! II Thou on whose stream, 'mid the steep sky's commotion,Loose clouds like earth's decaying leaves are shed,Shook from the tangled boughs of Heaven and Ocean, Angels of rain and lightning: there are spreadOn the blue surface of thine aery surge,Like the bright hair uplifted from the head Of some fierce Maenad, even from the dim vergeOf the horizon to the zenith's heigh...
Keyword Elite advantage
2008-04-21 00:00:00 I was relatively new to the internet, when a friend of mine sent me a book on "Search Engine Optimization". The reading was interesting and I enjoyed every bit of information shared in the book. I was thrilled at all that I could do on the internet. The topic that grabbed my attention the most was "Keyword Research". Though this topic was very interesting, the initial few attempts at researching keywords for my first website showed me that keyword research was not easy. Thus started my quest for a reliable keyword research tool. I experimented with quite a few tools claiming to do a lot of things and paid quite a good amount of money for these but the results were 'ZERO'. All I did was loose a few thousand dollars. But I had a mission - a mission to succeed in internet marketing. So I did not stop there. That is when the same friend who sent me the 'SEO' book sent me an ebook, "Adwords made easy" written by a Brad Callen. My previous experience with the book that this friend had... More About: Elite
