Product Tester
2007-02-01 00:22:00 Product Test erI could have won 1000 Laptops but do nothave the requisite number of laps or fingers.I could learn the secrets of selling stuffon Ebay and buy the potions and gadgetsfor everlasting life, hermetically sealed,to excise my cellulite, to invigorate my cellsby electrical vibrations and clear my sinusesand arteries whilst I sleep. I could haveself-servicing, rechargeable pantiesand a year’s supply of fabric softenerif I had the right zip code and a fuzzylogic washer. I could have my cablesco-ordinated and solar fed to activateremote controlled drapes and blinds, light switches and windows in twoeasy steps and 10 years to pay.A training hunk could show me howto challenge and overcome the hungerby diarising every morsel consumed, all ambulant and treadmill activities.I should attribute my victory, on daytimeTV, to the hunk and sing his praises aloud.Six lotto tickets could elevate my sex driveto higher levels of stealth and compunction.A government-sponsored educatorpushed op... Anecdote of a Bottle Garden
2006-11-16 00:31:00 Anecdote of a Bottle Garde n I line a thirteen-gallon jar with sandand gravel, tamping down a loamy basefor foliage, a place for ants to forage.I build a nymphaeum with integratedalcoves for Diana and her deer,a stone clad Virbius and Egeria.Outside the monument, I lay quartz slabsof serpentine, violet granite and slate; then I plant ferns and grasses in between.Water trickles down from terracotta tiles, painting marble walls with mossy woodland angels, filling the lake where lizards laze.~Coral~ More About: Arden

Creation
2006-10-22 14:09:00 CreationShe knows which cow gavewhich butter and which flowermade which scent and she canpick a diamond from zirconia. She can discern a photo boothfrom a portaloo - that’s a storyfor another time by another, which involves a waywardswinging claw from a crane. She hopes there’ll be leatherhandbags and shoes in heavenand galleries of oil paintings, creeks to wade in, gold ripefor panning from sand and siltand jade to cleave and shine. With an open heart, she fillsthe cavities of creation; blackholes become orchestral poolsrippling with sonic laser pulses.Percussions abound, unflinchingagainst the hurl of knotted wetsheets against steel mesh panes.Ball bearings, stones and bonesricochet from star to star.~Coral~ More About: Creation

A Rude Interlude
2006-08-01 19:49:00 Self-Indulgence, orA Rude Inter ludeI’m not going to succumbto this sickly thing the suicidalpoet described - but she was right. It is like a thousand bee stingsfollowed by a thousand searingrazor cuts winging every which way.It is a naked walk through nettlescold shivers climbing the spineAnother stab, another convulsionalternating freezing, scalding rodsspiking along the veins. I inhaleeach breath as never before –a combatant tool in this war.~~Coral~~
My Fave Poem
2006-07-09 19:08:00 My favourite Poem How lovely to see a lemon drop moon, adoring a blueberry sky in June.Mountains of chocolate all dusted in white, pure sugar icing, thus making them bright.Liquorice logs are the bark of the trees, angelica leaves sway in the breeze.Peppermint pebbles, a marshmallow shore, sherbet fountains and love hearts galore.A cream soda lake and cranberry falls, little fudge houses with nut toffee walls.Lollipop lampposts in soft treacle soil, sprinkled crushed peanuts, a sidewalk with style.Imagine the fun to visit this land,Confectionary Island - well - it sounds grand.Betty Hattersley
It All Makes Sense
2006-07-06 03:08:00 Glib string theory is too minusculeto be measured, but symmetricaldancing partners can be assumed –electrons with selectrons, quarkswith squarks, comets and cometia.Kamikaze sungrazers detonatetourbillions of gamma rays and X-rayswhen matter collides with anti-matter,illuminating the obsidian matrix.Reds and blues shift like soccerplayers or pixels on a TV screen, merging and submerging, a linearpedigree of paired silhouettes, strawberry jam and peanut butteradvancing and retreating in turn, opening valves, closing leaflets, trading gases, eradicating mush.Forces combine, loops connectand vibrate to fit curved space.~~Coral~~ More About: Sense , Make , Ense , Sens
The beauty of a Second-Hand Bookshop
More articles from this author:2006-06-26 23:26:00 Pencilled notes in the margin:Look up the word “appurtenance”Resinous scuffs mar the cover, sticker damage, the remnantsof price tags or mementos, maybe photos of celebrities. The centrefold has embossedflower stains, twins, with fivesallow petals each, stippledspongiform centres, sepia leaveswith prominent veins and stems. The base of a china cup has lefta tea stained circle on the insidecover and I imagine the drinkerresting awhile, allowing the brewto cool enough to put to her lips.A child framed the inside frontcover with a crayon picket fence.Green wire hangs between scarletposts capped with orange finials. An Undertaker’s Guide vieswith the astronomy, computing, aircraft and gardening volumes.I slide Lock Picking Simplifiedcovertly from the shelf, flickthrough oily pages, observingthat the hairpin is mightierthan the sword but high-techtumblers need kinetic forcefrom a flaming iron lance.~~Coral~~ More About: Beauty , Books , Book , Shop , Second 1, 2 |
