Greetings. This is just a notice, not a proper post.If you look at the blog name you'll see that it has been changed from "Steven's Journey" to something else. Yes, this blog is now henceforth known as:CyberGarden...until I decide to change it in the future. It has been more than 2 years since I created this blog, and I just felt like changing the name, for whatever reason.Of course, I didn't just create this new name out of nothing. As I was browsing through this blog yesterday, this place was (and is) like a small fenced, sheltered, isolated place with lots of flowers, representing thoughts and food for thought, planted on the ground. Hence, the name "CyberGarden".Not that I don't like "Steven's Journey" already, but since this blog is mainly for big topics now, my "Steven's Journey" seems to have gone to my subblog!! Lol! Of course, everything here is also part of "my journey", but..... just give it a new name.Another change made is the syndication feed. If you scroll down th...

Life (Part X - The Meaning of Life)
2007-06-27 14:09:00
Prediction Accuracy: 100% Additional Contents?... No General: Well, I must say it's nice to have this "Life " topic written up to part 10. Although each part doesn't seem to connect with each other sometimes, all of them are important, at least for me. Of course those older Life entries might be obsolete, but they can still generally be accepted.Sometimes there was just something I had never thought about. However just because I wrote those entries, I thought about the things I otherwise wouldn't have thought about. This is one of the many reasons I like blogs.Anyway, let's begin today's topic. Due to the way this entry is written, it has been split into a few parts.(Start)IntroductionSo... I'm going to talk about the meaning of life huh? Hahaha...... You might want to ask me, "Who are you to talk about this?" Lol! Really, I'm not special. I'm just a normal person like everyone else. However, I just happen to like to think. As such, I will have a lot to talk about. If ...

Life (Part VIII - The Suffering From Desires)
2007-05-06 12:36:00
Prediction Accuracy: 0% Additional Contents?... Yes General: You might be asking why isn't this entry about the meaning of life. My apology but I don't think I want to talk about that anymore, for now. Perhaps it's not yet time to talk about it, but whatever it is I would like to delay it for an unknown period of time. And what inspired me to talk about this topic? This topic is about suffering as well. Lol! No I'm not being pessimistic, but I don't want to deny the suffering that I... no, all of us have in life. If there is pain, there is. Why cheat myself and pretend it doesn't exist? Agree?Okay. Let's start this topic. Oh wait, don't forget that anonymous comments are now enabled. You can just leave a comment directly on this blog already from now on.(Starts)Have you ever wondered what "suffering" really is? Do you even realize you're suffering when you're suffering? 2007-04-14 22:31:00
Well this isn't really a proper entry. It's more like a notice or something... Hah, anyway, it has been quite a long time since I last typed an entry that will not be thrown into the Special Entries section down there.   Now what is the purpose of this entry? It's just to "announce" something.   If you're a frequent reader you should know that out of all of the "Life" entries, Part VII is locked and is publicly inaccessible. Well, on the 17th of April, this entry will be unlocked and released to the public, exactly 2 and a half months from the date of submission.   Before the entry is released maybe I'll just talk a little bit about it.   This entry is about a religion. If you haven't known yet, I'm a Buddhist myself. I'm not a freethinker, as some of you have answered in my Friend Test. (Lol) However, even though I'm not a freethinker, my way of thinking is still as open as ever. I'm not an extremist or fanatic, not even the slightest. And my...

(This is the first part of a dual release. The second part is "Reflective Talk: Compassion". Please read this entry first before you read the next one. Thank you.)   Prediction Accuracy: 0% Additional Contents?... Yes   General: You didn't see this coming do you? Lol. I was supposed to write the entry "Reflective Talk: Compassion", but who knew, for some reasons (which you'll get to see later), I also have to touch a little bit on love in that entry. And, the length of the love part in it is, unexpectedly, long enough to be a "stand-alone" entry by itself. So I might as well type it in a separate entry and have a dual release.   Now, whatever that's mentioned in this entry might not seem to make sense to you. But that's you. I'm not the only one in the world that has this kind of perspective. So if what I'm going to say make at least some sense to you, I recommend that you contemplate this matter for a while. Let us talk about compassion.   What is compassion?   Before I explain it, I must tell you first that the word "sympathy" doesn't mean "pity" ("You're so pitiful!", said in a sarcastic, insulting way). Don't get the wrong meaning. "Sympathy" means "sensitivity to and understanding of the sufferings of other people, often expressed in a willingness to give help," according to a dictionary. Now, "compassion" means "sympathy for the sufferings of others, causing a desire to help them," also according to a dictionary.   I don't know what your understanding of the word "compassi...

Prediction Accuracy: 100% Additional Contents?... No   General: Greetings. So we meet again. It seems like nowadays I would type an entry every week when I'm free. Lol. Of course, my mood is also another issue.   Okay. Cut the nonsense. Now let's start talking about children. But how should we start? Right. Let's have it this way.   Do you like children? Are you the eldest one among your siblings? Or the youngest? Do you get to meet a lot of children in your daily life? Then have you ever thought about how they live their lives compared to yours?   I have this little cousin that visited my family some time ago, together with her parents (whom are my relatives). She is just a 6-year-old little kid with a very tiny body. She is so small-sized and she doesn't eat a lot. And, her face... Damn, she is somewhat cute that I feel like pinching her cheeks and pulling them around! (Of course, not until she scream in pain. I would make sure I wouldn't ...

If you're not in the mood, feel stressed, angry with someone, or anything like that, I recommend that you do this reading at a later time. Though the topic this time may sound "big", the contents are just what I've realized and what I've thought about. However, even though they're just my personal thoughts, they can be pretty tricky to comprehend, if you're not used to contemplate this sort of things. Oh, and if this topic isn¡¯t the kind of things you like to read, you will get bored quite soon.   Alright... Let's start the main thing.   In this entry, you must know what exactly do "...

Prediction Accuracy: (Not Available) Additional Contents?... (Not Available)   General: Good day! I know it has been like... a month since I last posted an entry here. But what to do? I don't know how to explain why nowadays I'm taking such a long time to type a new entry. But anyway, a blogger is free to choose when, where, as well as what to type for a new entry, isn't it?   By the way, if you're wondering what the "Reflective Talk " in the topic mean, it's just the category name. If you (even bother to) scroll down the page to the bottom of this blog, in the "Special Entries" section I've categorized the entries into a few groups. "Reflective Talk" is one of them.   Well, let's just start talking about the main thing.   What do I mean by "worlds"? Why do I even bother putting a "s" behind "world" to make it a plural? In this entry, the "worlds" that I'm talking about is not what we usually mean. "World s" in this text means the diff...

A Work During High School

Prediction Accuracy: (Not Available) Additional Contents?... (Not Available)   General: Some time ago when I was cleaning up my room, I came across a book... My attention turned to the book, and I picked it up. I hold the book in my hands, "School magazine..." I thought. It was my high school magazine, produced by students before I left, back when I was in high school.   Many things are inside. Students photos, class photos, event photos, and those kind of things. I scanned through the book, flipped the pages, and saw a section where it says "Literary Students Articles". Then I proceeded to see what's inside... And then, "Ooo..... My name!" I found my name in that section too! Then only I remembered I had also submitted a copy of my work to the school magazine!   Back then I liked to write. I like to write a lot, especially writing stories. So when my English teacher asked me to write something for that magazine, I agreed (only after I thought about ...

Prediction Accuracy: (Not Available) Additional Contents?... (Not Available)   General: Finally... a new entry. It has been quite some time since I last posted one here. And this entry appears to be my first one for this year! Lol.   Without much nonsense, let's begin.   (Starts) It was a rainy day. Dark sky, wet ground. I, together with my family, were walking into a building where a talk would be held. It was a talk on health. I proceeded into the hall. This was all happening 2 years ago.   The hall was packed with people. Seats were scarce (compared to the amount of people). But I still managed to find a few, so I sat down. I looked around, saw all kinds of people attending the talk. The young, the old, all were in the same place at the same time. Since the talk hadn't started, I scanned around for no particular reason. And then.....   I saw a little girl on a seat behind me, together with her parents. She was quite cute, with a sm...

Prediction Accuracy: (Not Available) Additional Contents?... (Not Available)   General: This is one interesting topic to talk about. But, although interesting, it's so abstract that I don't know how to talk about it. -_-"   Okay. The dictionary-meaning of "maturity" is "the quality of thinking and behaving in a sensible, adult manner". Em..... Well as we all know, not all adults are mature, too. So I would remove the word "adult" from that sentence, and it becomes "the quality of thinking and behaving in a sensible manner". Ahh... Now it sounds more general. Please note that this "maturity" is about the mind, not the body.   ............................. ah.......... uh................. You see?! It's too abstract (that) I don't know what to say...! Okay, let's start in this way.   Maturity doesn't come overnight. It's a long process which everyone will go through in their lives, whether earlier or later. It's just a matter of time un...

The Path that he walks...   He is constantly running towards the shining light. The light, so brilliant, so powerful, and yet is so eye-opening. It's the water in the desert, the sun in the mind, the light of the millennia. The fruits, so tasty, so magnificent, can only be tasted by those who seek for them. "Something"
2006-11-04 03:40:00
Prediction Accuracy: (Not Available) Additional Contents?... (Not Available)   General: For some reasons, I feel like talking about this "something". By just seeing the title "Some thing ", I don't expect you to understand anything. Though it's not going to be everything, if you don't read this entry, you'll understand nothing. (...what am I talking about?)   Everyone has "something". Everyone of us has the hidden potential to learn "something". It's just a matter of time until a person actually learns it and uses it. After this many seemingly nonsensical sentences, what is the "something" I'm talking about?!   "Something" here, is the ability to extract a situation from life experience, and relate it to a philosophical theory, then educate oneself (yourself) with it.   How many people can do this? I don't know. Some people can just do it at a very young age, but some people can never do it. This ability might not be commonly mentioned, but it doe...

Prediction Accuracy: 100% Additional Contents?... No   General: By now, all of my exams have just finished. I'm now back at home, sitting in front of this somewhat old computer of mine, typing an entry for this blog.   Exams are now over. Everyone cheers happily. But... not me. Some people asked me, "Why aren't you happy? Exams are over." Yea, of course I'm happy, to certain extent, but my mood has already been long disrupted by all those projects. Yes, they are yet to due. Never mind that... for now.   One of my subjects that I'm taking now is called "Psychology for Personal Development". In this course, I got to know two terms: "introvert", "extrovert". Well it's not like I didn't know these two words before I heard it in my class, but I didn't really like to use them because saying someone is introverted sounds like saying that person doesn't like to mix with people; and saying someone is extroverted is like saying that person mix a lot and talks a lot. &n...

Prediction Accuracy: (Not Available) Additional Contents?... (Not Available)   General: This entry is here all because of a conversation I had with another person just a few hours ago. I was having a class of psychology for personal development, and the class was discussing this thing about whether you're the "thinking" type or the "intuitive" type.   And so this friend of mine told me, "I think you're the thinking type." Before that I thought for a while to see which type I'm more towards to. But I ended up feeling that I'm a little bit of both, and my "tendencies & characteristics" contain the ones shown on both sides! Pretty sure of my "finding", I told him, "That's just what you think..." Then after a while he said, "Yea, you always think you're right. So you like to say 'that's just what you think'."   Come on! He was talking about me! I understand myself more than he does! Of course I do not deny the fact that sometimes people around us u...
