Visitors have been contacting me through the contact form telling me that they liked the previous blog better than the current one, saying that they wish to read more of my work and asking me whether I am still writing.Yes, my dear friends, I am still writing and my English blog is still available at http://www.artihonrao.comMy idea of having a main page for all my websites has worked on one hand because my other blogs, which did not get any hits before are being visited now but on the other hand it has caused trouble to my visitor friends to figure out as to what has happened to Straight From The Heart.I wanted to bring forth my other blogs because a few friends complained that I am neglecting my other blogs apart from Straight From The Heart.Anyways,Let us talk about some instructions now.... Love Song
2007-10-28 20:32:00 He said - I cannot do itI cannot singI have never sung in my whole lifeShe said - Come on, please,Just try it onceCan you not do this much for your wife?He shook his headAnd looked out of the windowShe moved closerAnd put her arms around himHe cleared his throatand exercised his vocal cords a bitThen they stared at the moonAnd he sang for her -Words he had composed himself. She placed her head on his shoulderAnd listenedWhen he finished singingShe kissed him on the lipsAnd he knew -She really loved his song.I wrote this at 4:30 am and then slept. Next day when I read it again I thought the theme seems to be familiar to one of the labels of a friend's blog. Perhaps, it was there somewhere at the back of my mind. So you might want to check this out too... More About: Love , Song , Love Song

"Love Hurts" - 2
2007-10-25 11:33:00 "Love Hurts" - 1I was about to snatch the paper out his hand but the words that came out his mouth mesmerized me! He said he loved the poem and asked whether it was for him. Like a dummy, I said yes! There was a surprised look on his face and he asked me as to why I loved him. Because you are handsome, I wanted to say but I blurted, “Because I admire the real person inside you!” He handed over the paper to me, smiled and walked away. That was it! The end! Period! End of my love story. The castle I had built in air, in which we were going to spend the rest of our lives together living happily ever after, came crushing down on my ugly head!I tore the paper and put it inside my bag. I feared that other guys of the class might put the pieces back in place and laugh at what I had written. When I reached home I walked straight to the bathroom where I spent a little more than an hour crying and cursing the mirror for showing me the dream that was not meant to come true and I think I saw...
"Love Hurts"
2007-10-23 21:31:00 I was ready to sacrifice anything to be with the guy I secretly admired during my Junior college days even if it meant giving up my most favorite food. He was in the same class but I was a nonentity to him or even anyone else in the class. Hardly anyone knew my name. On the other hand, he was famous and everyone knew his name! He was good in sports, he was good in studies and most importantly he was handsome. Anybody could fall in love with him and I was no exception. It was different that most of the girls in the class managed to get a place next to him, managed to feel his arm on their waist but as far as I was concerned I shivered even if he brushed against my skin by mistake while walking in the corridor. It was I who wore specs but he must have had poor vision for he failed to see how his presence affected me. A little more than a few minutes in his presence, would have meant a call to the emergency medical service team to resuscitate me. Even as this thought came to my mind I f... More About: Love

About Plagiarism
2007-10-15 13:36:00 When I say “I hate plagiarism” I mean it. I mean it not only for my work but for others work as well. If you look closely at my blog you will find that I have mentioned copyright where it belongs. Plagiarism on internet is really a matter of concern and even though there are licenses or banners to warn people from copying, plagiarism still continues. It is fine to copy-paste someone’s work but one must show some respect and mention the author at the end of the post.Few of my poems have been copy pasted at sites I never knew existed but then my name was mentioned at the end of the poem, a complete stranger from Brazil wrote to me asking for permission to post my poem at his blog, I gave him the permission because he said he will mention the copyright and he did mention.Hence I got the shock of my life when I found out that one of the fellow bloggers who also happens to be a regular visitor of my blog had copied one of my poems without mention of my name. This definitely upset m...
Book Review
2007-10-15 13:25:00 Almost all of us, at some point of time in our life, ask ourselves a few soul searching questions like “Who am I?” “What is my purpose in life?” “Am I really happy with what I am doing with my life?”Some people do it while smoking a cigarette, a few people do it standing at the window and staring at the moon, few others do it as they lay awake in bed for many hours and for most of the people it is just a thought at the back of their mind as they walk through their daily routine.I would be lying if I say that I have never asked myself these questions. In fact many times I have wondered standing at the window, looking at the moon…Recently, I was asked to do a review for the book “Life on Purpose – Six Passages to an Inspired Life by Dr. Brad Swift”When I began reading it, I read a few paragraphs casually till I read something that hit me really hard.“I believe in a world where there are no accidents. It wasn’t a mistake or an accident that you picked up this bo... More About: Book Review , Review , Book

2007-09-23 16:33:00 Prajakta | Prajakta-2 | Prajakta-3 | Prajakta-4 | Prajakta-5 | Prajakta-617th July:Yesterday Akansha was discharged from the hospital. She is still weak. I laid her on the bed and turned to go to the hall. She held my hand. I knew what was coming next and I wanted to avoid it but it was inevitable. I turned to look at her. Her eyes were already filled with tears. I pulled away my hand from hers and walked to the window. I was on the verge of crying. I shouted at her, “ You should have taken care of yourself. You killed her.” I did not turn to look at her reaction. I left the room immediately and went to the hall. I could hear her crying. I too started crying. We both cried, but alone. I slept in the hall at night. When I woke up today Akansha was still sleeping. I left the house without waking her up. Walked along the seashore for a long time. Everything was finished. ‘She’ was not with us anymore. My Prajakta was dead. I searched for her footprints in the sand but I could n...

2007-09-21 15:55:00 Prajakta | Prajakta-2 | Prajakta-3 | Prajakta-4 | Prajakta-5Akansha slept on the bed and thought… her periods were overdue and then she drifted into sleep. When Vishaal returned home in the evening Akansha was busy in kitchen. He picked her up in his arms and took her to the bedroom. He asked her to take rest and leave everything to him. He quickly changed his clothes and got ready for his duty as a cook. Vishaal told Akansha that he had taken leave for fifteen days.Akansha was wondering whether she was pregnant because she had not yet got her menses. She found herself blushing at the thought of carrying Vishaal’s child inside her. Vishaal had gone to Bangalore for company work. She fixed an appointment with the doctor. When the test reports were in Akansha’s hands, she was more than sure that the tests would be positive. She opened the envelope only to confirm her thoughts. She saw the report and rushed to the telephone. She picked up the receiver and dialed Vishaal’s mobi...

2007-09-20 17:19:00 Prajakta | Prajakta-2 | Prajakta-3 | Prajakta-4Vishaal was running behind her. As he approached Akansha he took her in his arms and jumped into the sea. Akansha shouted, “Look what you have done! I am wet!” Vishaal grinned and whispered in her ears, “Let’s go home.”And Akansha found that her body was on fire in spite of wet clothes.Back home, Akansha was changing her clothes when Vishaal came closer to her and picked her up in his arms and carried her to the bed. She smiled and said, “Remember you had said rest can wait?”Vishaal added, “And… do you remember you had asked why?” Vishaal laid Akansha on the bed and Akansha felt that her heart would fly out of her chest. It was for the first time, the pain was nothing as compared to the ecstasy. She knew she would never, in her entire life, forget that moment. The moment when Vishaal had made love to her for the first time. The next day, as Akansha handed over the morning tea to Vishaal he asked her, “How are you f...

2007-09-19 18:00:00 Prajakta | Prajakta-2 | Prajakta-3For the first time ever her father had slapped her. She turned around to look at Vishaal; he was not on the sofa. He was standing next to her, ready to convince her father that nothing had happened between the two of them. But Vishaal had no time to say anything. Akansha's father had already pulled her out of the house and was dragging her towards the gate. She turned to look at Vishaal and at that time a sudden fear gripped Vishaal's mind that he may not be able to see her again and he located a tear on his cheek. There was havoc at Akansha’s residence. Her mother was screaming at the top of her voice. “Didn’t I tell you to keep a watch on her?” She was talking to Akansha’s father and at the same time she was hitting Akansha on her back. “Now look what she has done!” She was very furious, taking it for granted that Akansha had not only stayed back at Vishaal’s place but also had sex with him. It was not new for Akansha to be shoute...

2007-09-18 15:00:00 Prajakta | Prajakta-210th Mar:Today for the first time I was angry on Akansha. She’s been working too much lately. Everyday she comes home tired, does not eat her meals properly and goes off to sleep. I am not complaining that she has no time for me but she should at least take care of herself. When she came home today she looked fatigued. Her friend had come home to drop her. I came to know from her friend that Akansha had fainted in the hospital today. Doctor has given her medicines for anemia.Akansha kept the diary on her side and closed her eyes. She needed courage to read further…Unknowingly she drifted into the past again…Vishaal’s mother was suffering from hypertension. Vishaal had given proper history to Akansha. She spent as much as possible time with his mother, taking care of her, examining her at regular intervals. Monitoring her blood pressure and giving her medicines on time. Vishaal was overwhelmed by Akansha’s interest in his mother. She was actually doing ...

2007-09-17 15:02:00 Prajakta2nd Jan:It was today that Akansha entered my life. Now, it’s been a year to that wonderful day. There was no one with us when we married and even now we do not have anyone except each other. But that does not hurt, not when I have Akansha with me. I have found a valuable friend and a wonderful life-partner in Akansha. Her love is enough for me to bear any kind of burden, her love is the only possession I am sure I will carry with me till death. We decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary at home. “We”, yes “We”. It has always been “we” in every decision made. May it be a trivial one or an important one. I did not go to the office today. We stood at the window for a long time, looking at the sea. Akansha was in my arms and I could smell her sweet perfume. After dinner I gave her the gift I had bought for her. But the gift that Akansha gave me was a pleasant surprise. I will never forget that.I was standing at the window. She came close to me and placing her h...
Prajakta
2007-09-16 14:59:00 It was a wonderful evening. The sun was on its way home. She was walking along the shore on the carpet of seawater that somehow was draining energy out of her.The water seemed to suck out her strength, her wish to live. She was walking for a long time now, unaware of her surrounding. She was far from the crowd. She was tired but her feet were unwilling to stop as if they wished to take her far, beyond horizon. It was time, the sun kissed the horizon and bid farewell to her part of the world, but somehow, she did not seem to be a part of it. The soft breeze brushing against her soft skin was now piercing her like thorns. That felt somewhat similar to the unfortunate but yet so real pain of her life. Her fate. The game was on her. Akansha versus fate. She was happy once, but...She was tired of walking now. She stopped to look around and she realized that she's come far. She started to walk back home. Her mind was full of thoughts. She paused for a while. She realized that she was tired...

Were You Blind?
2007-09-14 23:39:00 I remember,We were standing at the bus-stop,waiting for the busThe old lady next to me was staring at usAfter you got into your bus,she asked me something I could never tell youShe said, "You love him, don't you?"I remember,It was raining that dayand we had to take shelterunder a shade on the road sideThere were many peopleand we had hardly any place to standWe had to stand very closeso close that I feared you would hear my heartbeatYou were holding me in your armsand I felt as if I would melt by your touchI thought you would knowBut you did not bother muchAfter some time when you looked awayThe man next to me asked me what I could not say to youHe said, "You love him, don't you?"I remember,we sat there at sea-shore looking at the sunsetThe waves hit the shore and we were all wetWe were sitting close to the seaAway from the crowd, just you and meWe stood up to goand I lost my balance and was about to fallYou put your arms around my waist, to avoid my fallI looked into your eyes an... When I Feel Like Crying
2007-09-13 18:53:00 All alone sitting on the edge of my bedMy hands covering my faceA moment when I silently pray to be invisibleMoment when I feel like crying...Not many, but yes there are few such momentsAppearing in front of me as ghosts of the pastMemories well hidden far away from the sound mindStill sometimes I see them comeAnd conquer my thoughts,Memories I long to cast awayNibble my mind all day…Slowly the toughness gives wayAnd tears flow unboundedReflection of a soul badly wounded…I cry, I cry to myselfIn the sole solace of my own palmsI know one thing for sure,No one ever would be able to trespassAnd my ugly secret would be buried in the lines of my palms. The secret of the momentsWhen I feel like crying.I wipe my tears and shed my fearsFor the moment has finally walked awayAll wet and painful, it is gone.I am free to smile till it returnsAnd I give myself to the custody of my palmsTo share the secret, no one would ever knowThe painful moment will then silently flow… More About: Feel , Crying
