Lens Day challenge: Triptych
2007-02-26 23:23:00 "the morality of art consists in the perfect use of an imperfect medium." - Oscar Wildeleft hand | hold my hand, i shall follow | right handA triptych is a work of art which is divided into three sections which are collected together. The central panel is the most important one, and this is flanked on either side by two lesser but related images. The whole is intended to be greater than the sum of the parts. This is my entry for this week's Lens Day Challenge .Just to share, i took these shots using the only available light in my room, one mid-afternoon.. the sunlight reflected by a mirror and my mobile phone. and with the help of my red curtains, navy blue ceiling and walls, these features seemed to unintentionally add to the effect.-----note: click the links below each image to see the original size.pub-7079080684070653 More About: Trip , Hall , Allen
Illo Friday: Gravity
2007-02-19 15:28:00 what does one need to shoot a perfect picture? the proper balance of gravity, stillness and light. so, what is the result of improper balance of gravity, stillness and light? a classic example of camera painting..And what does one need to not be kicked-out of the (seven) circles of Hellcat? The improper balance of rationality, creativity, TIME and the right sharpness of one's fangs! bwahaha..bite me };-}pub-7079080684070653 More About: Friday , Frida , Ravi

Sweet, I blame you not, for mine the fault was, had I not be
2007-01-13 21:54:14 Sweet, I blame you not, for mine the fault was, had I not been made of common clay I had climed the higher heights unclimed yet, seen the fuller air, the larger day. From the wilderness of my wasted passion I had struck a better, clearer song,Lit some lighter light of freer freedom, battled with some Hydra-headed wrong.Had my lips been smitten into music by the kisses that but made them bleed,You had walked with Bice and the angels on that verdant and enamelled mead.I had trod the road which Dante treading saw the suns of seven circles shine,Ay! perchance had seen the heavens opening, as they opened to the Florentine......Keats had lifted up his hymenal curls from out the poppy-seeded wine,With ambrosial mouth had kissed my forehead, clasped the hand of noble love in mine. And at springtide, when the apple-blossoms brush the burnished bosom of the dove,Two young lovers lying in an orchard would have read the story of our love.Would have read the legend of my passion, known the bitter ... Illo Friday: Invent
2006-12-02 15:22:14 No poems this time. But I owe this blog's visitors a worthwhile post, since i was on hiatus for more than a month, without prior notice. This is my contribution for Invention. Painting with light; poetry in motion. literally.."lady behind the shadows"I first came upon the term "Camera Toss" over at flickr. I had accidental shots with my digital cam [sample] and MagnaCam [sample] that resembled disfigured light trails but ended on my faves folder. I knew I had use for them someday. Then I chanced upon a group that shared amazing shots of lights whirling in different angles and lines. I could not totally consider my shots as "camera tossing" because, technically, I don't toss my camera to gain these shots. But as Ryan Gallagher puts it, "Camera Toss is photography technique, the singular action of throwing a camera into the air intending it take a picture while in free flight. As with all techniques however, where the photographer, hobbyist, or artist chooses to go from there is hi... More About: Friday , Frida , Vent

B&W Challenge: Picture of Holidays (Photo de Vacances)
2006-12-02 15:22:14 Yeah, i know holidays are suppose to be cheery...September marks the first month of the Christmas Holiday here in the Philippines. Because it?s the beginning of the "ber" months.. Oh well, but for me, it's around this time of the year that a certain fear creeps back to my being. My old readers would know why, it?s because I have this fear of December. The reason? There is always, always, either tragic happening on this fateful month, or something so significant that it changes my life from then on. If you care to find out what, the archives on the sidebar remains there for a reason.. But I hope this year would be different. As a close relative will have their wedding on this month. Sincerely wish them all the happiness. I hope they wont end up as most abrupt marriages do.Sorry, but if this December would not be tragic, then that would make me feel at ease. This photo was taken on Christmas 2004. Year after my mom passed, the year i got my surgery, and year before somebody i love go... More About: Holidays , Photo , Picture , Challenge
