Sunny over at DesiNotes has been nice enough to share with us that Googl e Applications are planning to go offline. A Google conference is scheduled today for over 5,000 developers worldwide, and it sounds like Google will be using this conference to outline their developers strategy. According to TechCrunch At the conference Google will be outlining their developer strategy. But the big announcement will be Google Gears, an open source browser plugin that will enable developers to create offline web applications using JavaScript APIs. As a developer, you????????ll be able to make an application with the assurance that it will work offline and online across browsers. Sunny is hoping that Microsoft will improve their offline applications, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. Microsoft has a way of putting things off til the news is way old, and then screaming “new and improved” only to deliver “old and innadaquate”. Adcenter is one example. As long as it took M...

It’s A Blog World After All
2007-05-31 03:29:00
This is an incredible world (wide web) we live in, and more and more each day I get to meet the variety of people who run it. We are a planet full of different personalities, perspectives, opinions, education, languages, styles, backgrounds, views, likes, dislikes, passions, obsessions, humors and all the traits that make us human. And now we get to share them. All of them. With everyone. We can educate, inform, debate, converse, make them laugh, or cry, give them motivation, or set them in the right direction. We are the web. If you haven’t yet, it’s definitely time to get your blog on! Blog s or web logs have been used by techno-geeks and teenagers to share their insights since 1994. Today, business owners, entrepreneurs, moms and presidents use this powerful high-tech tool to share their views, promote their products and services, move ahead of the competition, or just simply to stay in touch. Both the Bush and the Kerry campaigns, in 2004,  ha...

Listen (Read Actually) As Facebook Launches Facebook Platform
2007-05-25 16:22:00
As reported by TechCrunch . . . . “Facebook is holding a massive press/developer event today in San Francisco to officially launch Facebook Platform . 750 or so people are here. A number of third party applications will also be announced, including Microsoft, Amazon, Slide, RockYou, Box.net, Red Bull, Washington Post, Project Agape, Prosper, Snapvine, iLike, PicksPal, Digg, Plum and others. Seventy companies in total are currently developing applicaitons. Mark Zuckerberg goes on stage at 3 pm to make the official announcement, and I????????ll be blogging live from here. Facebook is giving an unprecedented amount of access to developers. The API would allow, for example, a third party to recreate Facebook Photos, the most used photo application on the web. Users could then remove the default Facebook Photos and install the third party version instead. Applications can serve their own ads and/or conduct transactions with users. Ads can basically be shown anywhere that Microsoft a...

Find Your Way On eBay [ With A Detour To The Bank ]
2007-05-25 07:21:00
This was not meant to be my next article, but that’s the internet for you. Demand changes on a minute by minute basis. Keep up or log off. As a volunteer expert at allexperts.com I get a wide array of questions. I am logged as an internet marketing and web site design expert, however, some of the questions I receive end up in other categories. This is one of them. In one single day I received 4 different questions concerning eBay. How to sell, what to sell, where to find inventory, etc. I can’t, in all confidence, state that I am an expert in this field, but I have run a successful eBay business and, luckily, I saved most of my notes. And so I’ve decided to pass on what I went through to make a profit on eBay. Before even coming up with a product to sell I decided that I should first learn my way around eBay. It sounded like a good first procedure to get acquainted with the procedures and take a look at what others were doing. eBay allows you to view quite...

Attracting Traffic To Your Website. It’s A Full Time Endeavor
2007-05-23 07:35:00
As a volunteer for allexperts.com, I get all kinds of questions concerning search engine optimization, online marketing, and networking. After logging over 100 questions, 2 seem to come up over and over again. One concerns press releases, and the other comes in many different forms leading to one common end, “How do I get traffic to my web site”. This question has come in so many times that I have decided to log (and expand) my answer here and hopefully the rest of you who might also be asking the same question can benefit from the information. And even if you are not, you will - eventually, because no site owner thinks they have enough traffic. Subject: Attracting traffic to my web shop Question: QUESTION: Hi I have recently built a web shop in html using XLE program. I have submitted it to the search engines using all-in-one submission program and Web SEO program. How often should I re-submit? Is there any other good ways of attracting traffic? Thanks Phil You...
