Are You Fit For Negative Publicity?
2008-04-06 18:05:00
I hate to think that blogging has become much more like Hollywood. Sad to say but hypocrisies, scamming, controversies, lies and all sorts of attention “whoring” is all over the place. And quite surprisingly, those who are popular and successful are those who resort to these strategies. Just look at what attention whoring has done to John Chow or how much money were pocketed by scammers claiming to have earned thousands of dollars over a month or so. And yes, the shitty ebooks they wrote about how they made lots of money online are still on demand. The worse part of it is that, despite the negative publicity that these blogs / bloggers get, they remain to be flocked by advertisers and readers. Should it not suppose to be the other way around? This brings us to the question whether any form of publicity, be it positive or negative, is good publicty. The same points lead us to ask whether we should embrace the same strategies to become successful online. What’s ...

Tips To Stay Motivated In Blogging
2008-04-05 18:05:00
Motivation is such a powerful ingredient of successful blogging. A blogger who lacks motivation lacks creativity and persistence. A motivated blogger on the other hand, tends to be more creative, innovative and persistent. According to studies, one of the major reasons why bloggers fail is because of losing interest quickly and giving up at an early stage in their blogging. Failures could have been avoided if they were properly motivated. The question now is, how do you keep yourself motivated to blog? Blogging and Motivation Motivation varies from one blogger to another. For instance, some bloggers are motivated to blog because of its monetary incentives while some are motivated because of the attention and fame they get from it. Others are motivated by the sheer pleasure of expressing their thoughts and getting their voice heard. It’s inevitable to experience losing your motivations to blog once in awhile. But a promolonged state of ‘unmotivation’ could p...

Blogging Tips To Help Boost Your Alexa Traffic Rank
2008-04-03 20:16:00
So far, the strategies I’ve implemented to boost my Alexa Traffic Rank has been very effective. In as short as 3 months, I managed to break the Alexa Top 100K. And for the past weeks, my Alexa Traffic Rank has been consistently going down. Hopefully, I will be able to break the Alexa Top 50K before the end of next month. Alexa Toolbar and Alexa Traffic Rank Alexa, the world’s first toolbar, offers the unique ability to update in real-time to offer its users information about the sites they visit. It also include features such as pop-up blocking, tell a friend and related links. More importantly, Alexa provides advertisers with a rough estimate of a website’s traffic through its ranking system. Currently, Yahoo! is ranked number 1 by Alexa, which means it receives the highest number of visits from Alexa Toolbar users. Although Alexa Traffic Rank is not accurate, majority of advertisers still consider it important. Hence, if you like to win the favor of th...

Branding Your Blog
2008-04-01 14:32:00
How important is branding in your online business? What are the available tools that can be used to help you establish your brand? Brands according to Wikipedia were originally developed as labels of ownership: name, term, design and symbol. However, today it is what they do for people that matters much more, how they reflect and engage them, how they define their aspiration and enable them to do more. Powerful brands can drive success in competitive and financial markets, and indeed become the organization’s most valuable assets. There’s no question about the importance of establishing a brand. Even successful companies like Nike, Microsoft and Coca Cola continue to build their brand despite their popularity among consumers. Every year, thousands of dollars are spent by these companies to establish their brands. This proves that branding is an important element of a successful business including online businesses. Branding  Online Branding is indeed important but h...

2008-03-26 00:00:00
Well, are you contented of your blog? Are you satisfied with your blog traffic? Don’t you want to make more money from it? Don’t you want more subscribers or a higher Google page rank, or a higher Technorati or a higher Alexa? I bet your answer is YES! You GREEDY BLOGGER! When will you ever be contented of your traffic, or how much money you make from your blog? Will you ever be contented in the first place? You know, CONTENTMENT is a virtue. Being contented of what you have makes life better and happier…. Enough of this CRAP! I thought of starting today’s post with a different twist and hopefully get your attention. 2008-03-24 00:00:00
If you have tried all possible means to promote and market your blog online and would want to futher extend your reach, you might be interested with these different offline marketing strategies that I’m about to share. Although online promotion is still the best way to go, it doesn’t hurt to try offline promotion and marketing approach. Importance Of Diversifying Your Sources Of Blog Traffic
2008-03-20 17:45:00
In business, diversification means allocating your investment among a variety of assets. Diversification is a strategic approach that helps reduce risk because different investments will fluctuate independent from each other. The combinations of these assets more often than not will cancel out each other’s fluctuation, therefore resulting to the reduction of risk. In blogging, the same principle of diversification can be applied to traffic. In today’s post, I will be discussing three core issues relating to blog traffic, namely;  The sources of blog traffic. Why the need to diversify our sources of traffic? And how can we diversify it? Sources of Blog Traffic When we speak of online traffic, we refer to the number of visits to your website on a given period of time. While traffic in the real world is abhored and avoided by people, traffic online is valuable such that some bloggers/webmasters are willing to do just anything to drive more traffic to their ...
What To Tell A Newbie Blogger
2008-03-19 00:00:00
What to tell a newbie blogger is contributed by La Tease Rikard of Teasa’s Blog Marketing Tips & Techniques.  “I’m going to blog so I can make money from home.” That’s what I overheard recently while at a marketing conference this past weekend. It came from a kid who was probably about 17 years old, talking to one of the guest speakers. The speaker told the kid good luck. Children, teens included, are wonderful creatures, and I say creatures as a term of endearment. You know why? Because they don’t believe in failure. They still believe in their dreams. So undaunted, this kid went off to make his dream come true. If I could have talked to this kid I imagined what I would have told him. “Kid, it’s possible to make money online, but you must be diligent with your postings. There will be days that you don’t feel like blogging or days when you don’t have a clue what you will write about. Those are the times when you real...

How I Got My Page Rank Back In Less Than 1 Week
2008-03-16 00:00:00
The latest page rank update of Google left Blogging Mix with a BIG FAT ZERO PR. Certainly, doing sponsored reviews and selling my page rank were the main reasons behind Google’s action. From a page rank of 4, Google warned me by down grading my page rank to 3. But I ignored Google so eventually they resorted to taking my page rank away. I tried convincing myself that Page Rank  is irrelevant but after experiencing the effects of losing it, I’m now more than convinced that Page Rank is important. Here are the consequences of losing my Google Page Rank: Daily traffic received from Google was affected. Although the decline was minimal, it is still traffic lost. Search Engine Rankings on keywords and keyphrases I use to rank high went down. This resulted to a lesser traffic from Google. Offers to do sponsored post also went down. This affected my blog income for the month of February and March. Some advertisers declined from earlier engagement to advertise on my bl...

Once there was a stock broker named John who got fed up of his job, submitted his resignation letter and left the company he’s working with for good. John read a lot of testimonials from bloggers making tons of money online and he want to give it a try. Just yesterday, he got hold of the latest eBook from “JavaMan”, which reveals how easy Java made $30,000 in less than one month. John was mesmerized at the opportunity and he is eager to make the same amount of money. Driven by his desire to make money immediately, John purchased a 2 year hosting service with SiteGround and registered his own domain name… www.john-the-incredible.net. John also decided to compete with other bloggers blogging about making money online. He’s new to making money online and he knew little about it but John thinks he’s read it all from the eBook he bought from Java Man. John is also confident that if he goes head-to-head with John Chow, he’s goi...

Google, StumbleUpon, BlogCatalog and Entrecard - Thank You For The Traffic!

For today’s post, I would like to thank the top four traffic sources of Blogging Mix namely; Google , StumbleUpon, BlogCatalog and Entrecard. Should Advertisers Consider Google Page Rank Important In a Sponsored Revie
2008-03-03 00:00:00
Google’s latest page rank update left Blogging Mix with a BIG FAT ZERO PR! I am both guilty of doing sponsored posts and selling text link ads so this is something I was expecting to happen. What I didn’t expect is the sharp decline of offers to do sponsored reviews from advertisers. When Blogging Mix was still a PR-4, offers to do sponsored post was abundant. I rejected about 60% percent of them because they are not relevant to blogging or because their offer was less than the minimum fee I charge for a review. After the page rank update, I only receive about 3-5 direct requests from advertisers to do a sponsored review. Most of my bids at SponsoredReviews have also been rejected, mainly because of issues concerning my page rank. What Advertisers Need To Know About Google Page Rank “PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value. In essence, Google interprets a l...
