The Most Important Social Network Site
2008-02-01 08:00:00
Since their introduction, social network sites have attracted millions of users, many of whom have integrated these sites into their daily practices. Today, social network sites have become valuable sources of traffic for websites. Everyday, an average blogger spends hours networking through these social network sites because of their potential benefits. When we think of social network sites, we think of the more popular sites like MySpace, FaceBook, BlogCatalog, MyBlogLog and Bumpzee. While these are popular places to socialize and network with your blog readers and fellow bloggers, none of them is the most important social network site. What Is The Most Important Social Network Site ? The most important social network site may vary from one blogger to another but for me, my blog (Blogging Mix) is the most important social network site. Social Network Site is a website where individuals can set up an online profile, describing their interests, and add links to other profiles...
Indirect Search Engine Traffic
2008-01-31 08:00:00
If you have just created your blog, it will normally take some time before search engines index your blog and start receiving traffic from them. But being indexed by search engines and appearing on the search engine result page is not enough. You need to rank high on the search result or at least appear on the first 3 pages. Getting this done is a tough challenge especially when you want to rank high on competitive keywords or key phrases.  There are alot of factors that determine the rank of a website on the search engine result page but no one knows exactly how search engines calculate it. Some of these factors include Google page rank (for Google), inbound links, anchor text used, keywords or key phrases and title tag. Indirect Search Engine Traffic Over the past months of blogging, I have been working really hard to optimize my blog for search engines. Despite the tremendous growth of social networks and its great potential as a source of traffic for a website, search en...

Sunday Link Love
2008-01-27 11:00:00
Hi everyone! I spent my weekend in a far flung area doing an outreach program to some unfortunate Chinese orphans. It was fun but I didn’t have access to the internet, which explains why I haven’t been able to post new articles. By the way, I’ve pledged half of Blogging Mix’s monthly income to finance some of the expenses of these orphan kids. Anyway, I’m back and the first thing I’m doing is checking on Blogging Mix. I didn’t manage to read alot of blog posts over the week as I was busy organizing the outreach program. Here are a few posts I managed to find. Mani Karthik, one of the bloggers at BloggingTips.com made an interesting post on The Risks Involved In Blogging. Don’t miss to read Maki’s  post on The Art of Propaganda: 7 Common Tactics Used To Influence Behavior. On his post, Maki pointed out the 7 common propaganda devices, which I personally believe to work. One of the contributors at BlogHerald.com, Valeria Maltoni...

Are You Getting DIGGsperate?
2008-01-24 08:00:00
Don’t worry, you’re not alone. I’m also getting DIGGsperate after numerous failed attempts but hey, try to look at the brighter side of not being dugg. Here are some interesting facts I managed to gather, which will help you overcome your DIGGsperation! Signs and Symptoms of DIGGsperation If you manifest any of the following symptoms, you might be at high risk of DIGGsperation. To overcome DIGGsperation, make sure to read this post and count how many times DIGG was mentioned. Easily DIGGsgusted by mediocre posts that reach Digg’s frontpage. DIGGligently reads blogging tips on how to make it to Digg’s frontpage. DIGGdreaming that your latest post has reached Digg’s frontpage. Asking all your Digg friends to Digg your post… with a threat that they’re not your TRUE friend if they don’t. Your daily post is all about Digg. Digging your own post. My Most Rewarding Sponsored Review Site
2008-01-22 08:00:00
Previously, I made a list of 34 Site s That Pay Bloggers To Blog. Most of the websites on the list are review sites that pay bloggers for their reviews of websites, goods and services. With all the review sites I’ve tried, only Sponsored Review s made me some real cash. What Makes SponsoredReviews Better From The Other Review Sites? First of all, SponsoredReviews.com does not use Google Page Rank to evaluate your blog’s marketability so the fear of getting penalized by Google is not likely to happen. SponsoredReviews uses Technorati, Alexa and Link Popularity to evaluate your blog’s worth for advertisers. With SponsoredReviews, you have more websites, products and services to review. Other review sites like Smorty, BuyBlogReviews, Blogvertise, Bloggerwave etc. have very limited review opportunities. With SponsoredReviews, you can certainly find products that will be of interest to your blog readers. SponsoredReviews pays their Bloggers or Publishers on time. ...
Removing Entrecard From Your Blog Is A Bad Move
2008-01-21 01:10:00
The number of bloggers unsatisfied with the quality of traffic from Entrecard has grown over the past month. John Cow who made his last drop of Entrecard, Becky who also dropped her Entrecard and Ritu who bid goodbye to Entrecard and is giving away all his credits are among the few Blog gers who gave up on Entrecard. Here are the reasons why they removed Entrecard from their blogs. Increasing Bounce Rate. Unfair Blog Ranking Unjustified High Price For Advertisement The Need To Drop Your Card To Other Blogs Somehow, the quality of traffic from Entrecard is not good. Google Analytics can back you up with that but removing Entrecard from your blog is just a bad move. Instead of complaining about the poor quality of traffic you get from Entrecard, why not do something to improve it. Instead of being envious at how other bloggers are ranked higher over “your popular blog”, why not accept the fact that your strategy is not working and do something about it. Instead of bitc...

Sunday Link Love

Here’s another of my Sunday Link Love . Take a look at these useful and informative posts I managed to stumble upon from going around the Blogosphere. Enjoy Reading. Garry Conn, who play by the rules of Google, made an interesting post about Why Do You Love and Love To Hate Google?. I’m not a big fan of Google but I try to adhere to their rules as much as possible. Unfortunately, sometimes Google is being too unreasonable. Read Garry’s post and tell me what you think. While most bloggers made great reviews of the latest MacBook from Apple, Tyler of TylerIngram.com did otherwise. Read his post Why He Wont Have An Apple MacBook Air. Do you agree with him? BloggingCents gave some valuable tips on How To Buy A Domain Name. Before you register your own domain name, don’t forget to check out her post. Update On Adsense Referral Programs
2008-01-19 07:00:00
The Adsense team was quick to come up with a new policy towards their Adsense Referral Program after they have been widely criticized over their decision to retire Adsense Referral Program to publishers outside North America, Latin America and Japan. The first decision is unfair because publishers who are outside North America, Latin America and Japan cannot participate to the Adsense Referral Program even if most of their traffic is coming these locations. I’m glad that somehow the Adsense people are now now seriously considering feedback from their publishers. Here’s their new decision concering their Adsense Referral Program. “The changes to referrals promoting AdSense will now depend on where your users are located, regardless of your location as a publisher. You’ll earn $100 for every user you refer to AdSense who is located in North America, Latin America or Japan when they generate $100 in AdSense revenue within 180 days and they remove all payment hol...

Share Your Tips On Affiliate Program
2008-01-18 08:20:00
The increasing participation of bloggers to different “make money online schemes”, resulted to the growth of online businesses promoting affiliate programs. A lot of bloggers have become successful from these affiliate programs unfortunately, not all bloggers managed to be successful. To succeed in affiliate programs, a blogger should have clear objectives, strategies and should join suitable affiliate programs. I’m preparing a post on affiliate programs in the coming days. To those who have been successful with affiliate programs, would you mind sharing your tips through the comment. It’s also be appeciated if you share the links to your affiliate programs. I will quote you when I finally published my post on affiliate programs and link to your blog. Thank you very much for your time and tips!

Monetize Your Blog And Optimize It For Search Engines With TNX.net
2008-01-17 08:00:00
I received an email the other day from a fellow blogger who asked me to check out TNX.net if I’m doing search engine optimization for Blog ging Mix. I heard about TNX.net before but I really didn’t have the time to try it out. Another thing that kept me from trying it is the fear of being penalized by Google for participating in buying and selling paid links. After going over TNX.net’s website, I decided to give it a try. What’s TNX.net? TNX.net is an online service that combines the benefits of Contextual Advertising, Text Link Brokers and Relevant Exchange of permanent non-reciprocal text links. TNX.net offers these services at a more competitive prices unlike it’s competitors, Link Worth and Text-Link-Ads. Check out what other bloggers have written about TNX.net. Stop Your Addiction
2008-01-16 06:05:00
Blogging is addictive especially when it’s your first time to blog. You’ll skip breakfast, lunch or dinner just to write your latest post, reply to your readers or simply network with other bloggers. Sometimes, you’re so addicted to it that you forget to take a rest that will eventually compromise your health. Instead of trying to make money online, you’ll just end up paying more for your medical expenses.  One of the worst cases of addiction that plagues our society is “Drug Addict ion ”. I remember one of my friends in high school who got addicted with illegal drugs. At first, he thought everything was under his control but as soon as he became addicted to drugs, he lost everything. First, he lost his girlfriend then his friends then his outstanding academic performance and eventually his health. Thank God, he’s got a supportive family who didn’t give up on him. They remained supportive until he recovered from his addiction...

What Makes a Blog Make Money
2008-01-15 08:00:00
At first, I thought blogging was an easy way to earn cash. Create your blog, put some content and display your Adsense and you’re on your way to making millions. You can’t blame me to believe that way considering the countless BS I’ve read about making money online. Before you fall victim to these exaggerations, take some time to read this post and do yourself a favor. I’m on my 8th month of blogging and so far, I have earned a little over $2,500. That’s not bad for a blog less than 8 months old. But did you know that there are Blog s older than Blogging Mix that did not make anything? Yes, there are blogs that are 2 years old and still haven’t received their first check from Adsense. I also know of a lot of blogs that are 3 months old but have earned $10,000 or more. That’s how complicated making money online is. Can you really make money blogging? Definitely YES! But I believe the better question to ask is, “What Make s a Blo...

Blogging Is Not Always About Writing
2008-01-14 07:00:00
I frequently come across blogging tips on writing as if writing a post is all that matters in a blog. While writing is an important element of blogging, there’s more to Blogging than writing. One of my mistakes when I was new to blogging was to spend so much time writing my next post. I was worried that if my next post wasn’t interesting enough or wasn’t well written enough that somehow it might alienate my blog readers.  When writing my post, a usual problem that keeps recurring is the lack or absence of an idea for me to work with. To solve this problem, I resort to ‘Blog Scanning’ hopeful that I’ll be able to pick a topic or get ideas from other blogs. This method wasn’t always effective and helpful. In fact, the posts I wrote resulting from blog scanning were mediocre. As an ardent and fervent believer that “Quality Content is King”, I started to worry that my blog will soon die out if I don’t come up with go...

Adsense : Unfair With Their Publishers!
2008-01-08 11:22:00
Publishers outside North America, Latin America and Japan can no longer participate in the Adsense Referral Program (referral promoting the use of Adsense). Darren, made a report about this stupid decision at Problogger. The complete detail can be read at the Adsense Blog. Here’s the summary of the stupid decision made by Adsense. First, Adsense is going to change their payout for Adsense Referral Program. Currently, Adsense pays their publisher $5 if a person they refer earns $5. Moreover, if a publisher refers someone to AdSense who makes $100 within 180 days, the publisher gets $250. Finally, if a publisher refers 25 people who make $100 within a 180 day period, the publisher gets a bonus payment of $2000. Instead of the current payout, Adsense decided to return the old payout system, which is to pay publishers $100 if they refer someone to Adsense who makes $100 within a 180 day period. Second, and the most stupid decision yet made by Adsense, is to retire Adse...

Entrecard Is Winning Over Blogrush
2008-01-07 08:00:00
When it comes to improving your blog traffic and increasing your blog readers, two names resonate in the Blogosphere: Entrecard and Blogrush. Lately, there have been heated discussions about which one is winning the battle, which one is better and which one really works. The point of today’s post is to provide you with a comparative analysis of Entrecard and Blogrush, giving you an idea of who’s really winning. The Architects Blogrush was conceived by John Reese, the founder and CEO of income.com. Blogrush was officially launched on September 15, 2007. Entrecard on the other hand is the brainchild of Graham Langdon, a 22-year old internet entrepreneur. It was officially launched at the Blog World Expo two months after Blogrush was introduced. Comparative Alexa Traffic Reach By comparing the traffic of Entrecard and Blogrush, we will be able to get an idea of how many bloggers visit these websites. Naturally, the one with a better traffic performance has a more ...

Lessons I’ve Learned About Networking
2008-01-05 08:00:00
Unexpectedly, my previous post on why it is better to network with NON Problogger got picked by Darren Rowse. To my surprise, he made a post about it and acknowledge my points. He also linked to my post, which spiked my blog traffic and comment. For months, I’ve been trying to get the attention of some Probloggers but had no luck. My post about why John Chow is the Paris Hilton of the Blogosphere is one my attempts to seduce John Chow into linking to my blog. Unfortunately, none of my attempts worked. Yesterday however was different because I wasn’t trying to seduce Darren Rowse, John Chow or Jeremy Schoemaker to link to my blog but Darren did. Thanks Darren! Today’s post is suppose to be a ‘Thank You Post’ to Darren but I’d like to make a twist into it. Instead of the usual thank you post, I’ll be sharing the lessons I’ve learned about networking from problogger Darren Rowse. Here it goes. Lessons I’ve Learned About ...
