Flood-hit UK braced for more rain

Forecasters say up 50mm (2in) of rain could fall in parts of the country on Saturday, and the Met Office has issued an early warning of severe weather. More than 3,000 properties in the UK have been flooded, it is estimated. Fire crews have rescued around 3,500 people this week. The Fire Brigades Union has described the rescue effort as the "biggest in peacetime Britain". Torrential rainfall hits region

Well i might as be writing this entry while sat in a boat or something like that. Why ? well if you don't know i live in Hessle/Hull, North Humberside in England and as i have never seen rain like this before in Hessle let alone England. Flood warnings have been issued across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire as heavy rainfall pounds the region. Forecasters from the Met Office predicted up to 75mm of extra rainfall by the evening. Roads across the region were closed due to flooding and in South Yorkshire an emergency response team was put into action to deal with the crisis.  Schools were closed and members of the public advised to avoid traveling unless absolutely essential. Flooding across the region caused delays for motorists and railway commuters. Rotherham and Doncaster were among the worst affected areas in South Yorkshire, with road closures and disruptions due to flooding.
