70% e-commerce in India is e-travel
2006-12-20 05:03:01 Do you ever contemplate buying your daily provisions online? Or your medicines, maybe? If you don’t, you better get ready to do so, for the ‘phenomenon’ of online shopping is here to stay. In a discussion during the two-day Digital Summit 2006, organised by the Internet & Mobile Association of India at Mumbai’s Grand Maratha Hotel, a panel of speakers talked about the state of the Indian online market. Deep Kalra, founder and CEO, makemytrip.com, moderated the session. In his speech, Kalra pointed out that e-travel, quite surprisingly, “constitutes 70 per cent of the e-commerce market. With the buying population increasingly preferring to dial up than to queue up, online shopping has become the order of the day.” Talking about his experiences, Kalra said, “When we launched the site, we expected queries about cheap travel services. But we were taken aback as no one visiting our site actually asked for good deals. All they wanted to know ... More About: Travel , Rave , Commerce , E-Commerce
Google Gets Into Web Site Registration
2006-12-17 05:01:01 MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. ? Google Inc. on Friday will join the crowded field of services registering Web site addresses in a move aimed at encouraging more usage of the online search leader’s free software products. The Mountain View-based company is offering its latest service in a partnership with GoDaddy.com and eNom, two of the many administrators that help Web sites officially register their names under domains like “.com” and “net.” Google’s service will charge a $10 annual fee and only handle addresses ending in four suffixes _ “.com,” “.net,” “.biz” and “.info.” There are more than 250 other suffixes in the Internet’s master directories. Web sites that register their domains through Google will be automatically set up to work with several other company products, including e-mail, calendaring and instant messaging. The configuration won’t prevent the Web sites from using ser... More About: Site , Gets , Trat , Stra

Google is not Invincible - Closes Google Answer
2006-12-02 16:49:07 Google is a company fueled by innovation, which to us means trying lots of new things all the time Since its birth, Google has conquer everything in SE world. People started calling Google GOD in SE world. Experts started believing that he only makes world class product until Google Answer s. Despite its moderate success, Google Answers did catch the eye of the company’s competitors. Yahoo launched its own Q and A service last year, which has proven to be quite popular. Yahoo took a different approach, however, dropping the fees and relying on users to answer questions out of goodwill, much like the online encyclopedia Wikipedia. Google has decided to close ts answers service after four years in operation. From the end of this week it will no longer respond to questions submitted to the Google Answers site. Google Answers provided a way for users to pose questions and set a price for how much the answer would be worth to them. Others from around the world could then answer the ... Women are hard to please!
2006-11-29 00:39:01 The Husband Store! A store that sells husbands has just opened in New York City , where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates. You may visit the store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the attributes of the men increase as the shopper ascends the flights. There is, however, a catch. … You may choose any man from a particular floor, or you may choose to go up a floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building! So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. . On the first floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men have jobs and love the Lord. The second floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, and love kids. The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, and are extremely good looking. “Wow,” she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going. Nokia N91-Boom Boom, It?s my New Phone
2006-11-29 00:39:01 Well when I went into Nokia Shop, I was all prepared to buy a new phone for me. My 1st phone was Nokia 8850. Then I glued to Nokia 7650 ? I bought it on the 1st day of its launch in India. 7650 was my 1st love and that time it was my passion to buy that phone. Next was Nokia 6600. So by now you can make it out that I am a complete Nokian. This time, the plan was to buy the best phone available. Initially I thought of buying N70 but finally I hooked to Nokia N91 ? thanks to my lovely wife who forced me to buy this one only. Within the Nokia range, the N91 immediately stands out the best and with its 4GB memory and its pretty-elegant look it easily stands out to the other brands available on the market. The phone itself doesn’t include any games and they haven’t officially any for this handset yet but I have found that games downloaded from the internet for other Nokia handsets can work on this one when transferred across from the computer (though its a bit hit or miss wh... The Nokia ?Aeon? - The New Face of M-Technology
2006-11-29 00:39:01 Today what I saw was something really exceptional. Nokia “Aeon” I try not to make a habit of ripping ideas from other sites’ articles, but it’s oh so worth it this time: The N okia “Aeon”? Nokia maintains a Research and Development website that is usually filled with, well Research and Development stuff. Mostly it’s just boring images of scientists and r&d people at work - at least until you scroll to the top. That’s where the images of Nokia’s latest “research concept” phone are currently housed. The “Aeon” seems to be your “typical” razr-thin candybar form factor cell phone with no actual buttons. No, it’s not the next generation of Nokia’s L’amour Fashion Collection. The bottom half of the prototype pictured here is actually a touch-screen display that can change (I might be going out on a limb here) into any kind of menu, button, keypad, whatever. It’s so damn ... More About: Technology , Techno , Tech
Increase Your ROI - Track Your Phone Calls As Well.
2006-11-29 00:39:01 While browsing WebProWorld, I came across a good post which was on tracking online ROI by tracking phone calls. This was something I was not completely aware of. This is basically for an e- commerce website. We all know the traditional way of tracking mechanism i.e. If someone searches at Google, clicks on your PPC ad, and comes to your site to make a purchase, then most likely you?re tracking that information. But we can also track our PPC campaign if we are having a toll free number on our website. This whole process can be done by using a tool which Voicestar is providing. It allows you to track all of the phone calls to your business and know exactly where you?re getting the greatest ROI, whether it?s from print ads, organic search results, PPC ads, or even a printed catalog. Voicestar offers the ability to display different phone numbers via JavaScript on a web site depending on where someone came from (PPC, direct to the site, organic search (even a particular phrase). If some... More About: Phone , Calls , Your , Call , Track

One More Jewel in Google?s Crown - JotSpot
More articles from this author:2006-11-29 00:39:01 GOOGLE has finally acquired JotSpot , which specialises in “wiki” collaborative web pages. Many are expecting this deal to be as big as YouTube’s one but details of the JotSpot acquisition were not disclosed. Earlier this year the California, company launched JotSpot 2.0, saying it was a leap forward in the evolution of the way people share and edit websites. JotSpot 2.0 is a “wiki” that enables people to make joint calendars, spreadsheets, photo galleries and virtual filing cabinets. The term “wiki” was inspired by the Hawaiian word “wiki-wiki” for “very quick,” and is used in internet parlance to refer to a site that allows visitors to make changes to content. The popular online encyclopedia Wikipedia is the seminal example of a wiki. JotSpot will move its 27 employees to Google ’s campus.
