Google Page Rank Onslaught - Its Not Because Of Paid Links!
2007-10-29 11:48:00
Many had been said about the recent Google page rank onslaught to many sites, particularly the BIG players in the blog industry.   The question is why? Is it simply because of paid links?   If that were to be so, then many directories including the big directory boys like business.com, yahoo, BOTWS, Entireweb,Mirago and countless others should be hit too. In fact most directory industry we know are heavily involved in paid links.   Yep, you guess right… this industries are NOT hit by Google. Why?   In my opinion, it is paid links that are irelevant to your industry that will be hit. Taking the blog industry for example, I would categorize it as industry-unrelated paid links and that is why its being heavily hit.   While the directory industry, although Google I am certain is aware about their paid links whether its express inclusion, featured listing or sponsor listing… it is considered as relevant and industry-related links. Type Of Links & Strategy Of Purchasing links
2007-10-03 07:56:00
It?s important to understand the text link concepts when purchasing text links. The various types of text links are explained below:   Reciprocal Links Many sites use reciprocal links, also known as link sharing. Regarding this strategy, websites agree to display each other?s links (commonly attained through link exchanges) in an attempt to increase the number of back links that register with search engines. While seemingly an effective way to increase a site?s rank, there are a few drawbacks to this strategy. Generally, attaining links through link exchanges can prove time consuming. Also, Google discounts reciprocal links as an unnatural attempt to boost a site?s rank. Search engines value one-way links over reciprocal links and also penalize sites that have an excessive number of outbound links (links to external sites). Google considers all these factors when determining search rank.   One-Way Links In contrast to reciprocal links, one-way links are considered more nat...

Why Do You Need Outbound Links?
2007-08-15 19:34:00
Cross Linking Builds Link PopularityMany webmasters are extremely reluctant to put links to other websites on their own site. The argument is that they don't want people to leave their site. The problem is that by doing this, your site exists in a vacuum, and can lose link popularity. Ultimately, this decision is up to you, but outbound links are an important element to boosting your position. Remember, one of your main goals is to link to others and have them link to you.Who to link toBelieve it or not, the best thing you could do for building link popularity it to link out to your competition, and have them link to you. The reason is that your competition will likely be categorized the same as you, so you will gain points for 'common interest'. Naturally, you are not likely to do this. Still, you should try to provide links of interest to the people that visit your site. Chances are that these will help more than some random sites.Linking out and bringing people backAs mentio...

Don'ts In Website Promotion Strategy
2007-08-15 19:28:00
While planning your website promotion strategy, it is wise to remember that the search engines are very capable of sniffing out when someone is trying to trick or deceive them. A certain road to disaster is to consciously try to fool search engines into giving you a better listing. While this may work for a short period of time, invariably the scheme is found out and the offending site is severely penalized or even banned altogether. Most of us are not, however, intentionally engaged in trying to scam search engines. Even so, there are mistakes that an honest user can make which are nonetheless interpreted as intentional and malicious behavior. Here are some of the things you can do to ensure that you will never be penalized or banned by the search engines.First and most important, don’t over-submit your site. The search engines each have their own procedures and lead times for adding new sites to their indices. Some may immediately add you while others may take months to list you...

Text Links Ads And The Google Sandbox
2007-08-08 18:16:00
One of the reasons Googl e had to delay the appearance of Web pages and sites in its index is because of paid text links. The impact of this approach began with the infamous Florida update, in which some sites had to wait up to eight months for Google to recognize new links to their site. Google couldn't distinguish between illegitimate and paid links, so it just put all new links on hold to thwart link buyers. If you were paying $1000 a month for links, and you didn't see any rank increases for 8 months, you'd be deterred from link buying in the future! One downside to Google's filtering of paid links is that innocent links can also be deleted along the way. There are many appropriate and naturally occurring links that aren't counted by Google because of the keyword topic, they're position within a page, or their appearance within the link patterns between a certain range of Websites. If your link is the only one on the page, Google may not count it. So, the last word o...

Text Links: A New Perspective Of Page Rank Advancement
2007-08-08 18:15:00
Text Link Ads Get Clicks Too!   Text links have a surprisingly high clickthrough rate compared to graphic banner advertising. Advertisers know this and many have abandoned banners in favor of text link ads. Although buying links to your site isn't in the spirit of organic search engine indexes, the purchase of text links is revolutionizing search engine optimization.   Buying search engine rankings certainly doesn't sound ethical, yet those who don't buy links, and who don't set aside a good part of their budget to the acquisition of paid text link ads, can find themselves at a decided disadvantage. A quick look at the top ranking sites will reveal that most gain their rankings through paid text link ads. These text links, though small and seemingly insignificant, are in fact very powerful. So, you're aware of the pitfalls and the potential benefits. If you feel buying text links is unethical, or a waste of your time (after all, the search engines will likely ...

Text Links: A Brief Introduction
2007-08-08 18:12:00
The Evolution of the Text Link When search engines such as Google began to rank Websites based upon the number and quality of sites that linked to them, those search engines created a digital cottage industry called link placement. Emailing for link swaps was wildly popular with some, while others placed banner ads containing direct links to their own sites. Both solutions fit well with search engine's immature algorithms. Since then, search engines have vastly improved their systems for the filtering or removal of paid advertising links. Some of these steps have turned out to be unfair to many smaller Websites that are not connected to the larger Web publishers. As Google changes its algorithm, so the shape of the Web changes with it.   However, text link ads, or sponsorships as some call them (excluding Google Adwords ads, which Google can screen automatically), fit into the Web page less obtrusively than other ad units, and are often less easily identified as advertisem...

Page Rank Booster - Strongest Page Ranking Directories?
2006-10-12 05:04:00
A common question asked in all the forums is:  ?What are the best directories to pay to submit my website to?? If you ask this, you?ll get lots of responses.  But generally, the responses tend to list the directories that are most popular or that are owned by the person answering the question or his or her buddies.  There really is a lack of objective evidence as to which directories are truly good. THE 10 PRINCIPLES OF EFFECTIVE COPY WRITING FOR THE NET
2006-10-07 17:09:00
  1. Know Your Product This is the cornerstone of good copy writing. Know your product and be passionate about it. Believe in it. If you don't, you shouldn't be selling it. It is not only unethical to sell something you wouldn't buy yourself, but also difficult and unpleasant.  If you have a product that you *know* will change your customer's life for the better, then copy writing becomes much easier. You're doing her a favor - offering this product at this price - believe that yourself first. After that, killer copy comes naturally.   2. Know Your Customer Before you write the first word, create a profile customer. Is it a techno-peasant housewife or an IT company executive? Income range? Age? Sex? In a hurry? Select your words and page length to suit your reader - not yourself.   Then, once your web site is tailor made for her unique needs, it is time to test... Find about 3 people who more or less fit your profile customer's specs and let them...

15 Basic Strategies for Building & Structuring Inbound Links
2006-09-30 17:36:00
This is a compilation and reediting from the original blog posted by Stephen Mahaney   1.   Natural vs. Artificial Links Natural links vary in anchor text while artificial links tend to be identical. Natural links increase gradually as referral sites add links one by one over time; artificial links can sprout in great numbers all of a sudden. Sites designed around natural links don't usually swap links, so their outgoing links tend to point to pages that are known by the engine to be in good standing. Oftentimes these pages have been indexed for many years and may even be white listed – a term that identifies trusted sites not to be penalized. Sites designed around artificial links will often participate in link swapping and have outgoing links that point to pages that resemble link farms, web rings, or isolated nodes (i.e. page groups linking to each other but lacking inbound links from outside trusted sites). Natural links tend not to be reciprocal. Artificia...
