I Am An Affiliate?.
2007-02-09 04:40:07 and I absolutely hate spam, pop-ups and spyware. But what really gets me are judgments about affiliate marketing passed in a state of ignorance. As an affiliate I have never used spam, spyware and not even pop-ups to promote my merchants and I never will. I hate these methods with passion, I also believe to be speaking on behalf majority of affiliate marketers. But I feel bad about people who make ignorant statements about affiliate marketing. BTW, while term “ignornce” some time can bee seen as an insult, in this case it is meant only as a constructive criticism. Are you with me? More About: Affiliate
Blingo- A Search Engine With A Twist
2007-02-09 04:40:07 It was very amusing to discover Bling o today. Blingo is a ?Google-powered search engine with twist?. Internet users using this search engine can win a sweepstake in a form of an Amazon certificate, a car or just simple old cash. How can you win? Just go ahead and search the Internet the way you would search regularly on Google or Yahoo. That simple isn’t it? Blingo does not seam to be modified in any way and produces results identical to those found in Google. According to Alexa rank, the site is getting nice traffic, maybe due to referrals. If you refer a friend and and he or she wins a prize they give you a matching prize that is exactly the same as your referral’s, this does not work in reverse. Only first 10 searches for a particular day qualify for a prize. The next prize of $20,000 (with a matching prize of $20,000) due to expire on June 30. It is not clear if anyone can win the prize tomorrow, but I think it is safe to presume that if no one wins bu June 29 their ... More About: Search , Search Engine , With , Engine
Team Link Network
2007-02-09 04:40:07 UPDATE!!!! Since this page was submitted to Digg and StumbleUpon (against author’s whishes), we strongly encourage readers to read comments as well. The following is a paid review: Team Link Network claims to have invented a revolutionary method for monetizing virtually every website. Supposedly, by placing a simple HTML code, which in turn will serve banner ads or text link ads, you can turn your website into automated money machine. The example banner invites advertisers to purchase an add for just $1 dollar, while it is not clear whether or not this add will be served for a predetermined period of time. The ?Sign Up? link leads you to an unsecured page where you are asked to provide some personal information including social security number. In order to join the Team Link network, new members are required to invest $200. The link to the ?Terms of Service? found in the bottom of the sign up page leads you to a page which ?explains? techniques, and affiliate responsibilities... More About: Work
ReviewMe And Things
2007-02-09 04:40:07 As I mentioned in one of the post, in which I complained about statistics of my website being behind at Review Me, I joined the site for one reason only- make money. Of course there are many different ways that you can make money as blogger. Is ReviewMe a good choice? Or speaking in more general terms is getting payed for reviewing someone else’s website or services is good choice? And finally should an affiliate marketer consider of writing paid reviews? Cost Per News is Having an Impact- As Leaders Tend to Have
2007-02-09 04:40:07 On my least productive days, I tend to spend a lot of time looking up statistics my sites (depressing ) and those of my friends and fellow blogges (can be very inspiring) with all kinds of Internet gadgets. So today is one of those days, and while I was not impress with what I have seen about my sites, I did managed to be inspired. As I was playing with SEOMoz page strength tool, I decided to check out how is Cost Per News ranked. I first came across Cost Per News over at BumpZee Affiliate Marketing Community, just over one month ago. Right from the very start I was impressed and inspired by Sam Harrelson- its founder, and of course became a daily reader of his blog. (more…) More About: R News , Tend , Have
BumpZee, Follow, Nofollow And What You Can Do About It.
2007-02-09 04:40:07 Shortly after Mark over at 45n5 raised concern about SEO effects that Bump Zee is already having in search engines. Scott the founder of BumpZee, good guy that he is, immediately implemented an outstanding option in your account where you can tell BumpZee to attribute ?nofollow? rule to all the links pointing to your blog. As with any other community driven websites, BumpZee is beginning to rank high in the search engines, its just the nature of community driven websites. Inflow of content on community driven sites (like Digg for example) is much higher than on other websites and therefore these community sites are loved by search engine spiders. So it is very likely that titles for your own posts maybe indexed at BumpZee way before the spider decides to come back to your website. Consequently BumpZee may very well rank highier for the keywords in your title. While I am enjoin the fact that BumpZee is in the top of my ?referrers? and do not mind at all if some of what I have written... More About: What , Hat , About , Nofollow
Tip On Updating to WordPress 2.1
2007-02-01 16:39:01 Recent update to Word Press 2.1 taught me few things. After updating to new version I havenoticed that the website slowed down considerably and from time to time when posting new articles I would receive an error message with the long URL that generally would end up with /pluggable.php: lineX. Sam over at CostPerNews has e-mailed me that he received a similar error message when commenting on my post. I believe the errors were due to the fact that some of the plugins needed to be updated. If your blog is giving you same problems chances are that you need to update your plugin this time around. Remember that you can access the web page where you have downloaded the plugin through your WordPress’ interface as shown in the image below: While there is no guarantee that every single plugin will be updated to comply with WordPress 2.1, in my case (I am using about 12 different plugins) I was lucky enough to find that all plugins were updated. While it was to difficult to pinpoint whi... More About: Wordpress , Dating , Dati

SEOMOZ is still factoring in Wikipedia links.
2007-01-31 16:38:01 Just around the time Sam Harrelson raised the question of SEO implication over Wikipedia ’s move to attribute ?nofollow? to all outgoing links, the Seomoz page strength tool was down for a maintenance. The tool measures the strength of a web page based on many factors, including the incoming links from wikipedia. The SEOMOZ page stength tool is back in ?business? and the Wikipedia links are still among the measuring factors. More About: Links , Link , Fact , Pedi

Making My Readers Famous: Jimmy Reimer
2007-01-31 16:38:01 I have come across Jimmy ’s blog a while ago while reading Yaro’s blog. Since then we have exchanged mutual visits to each other’s blogs. Jimmy’s goal for 2007 is to help other bloggers to collectively generate $1,000,000! I am inspired by Jimmy’s posts every time I visit his blog. In a very short time, of about 1 month, Jimmy’s blog has ranked in Google at whooping PR 3. But what is most amazing is that Jimmy’s posts rarely go without comments, if ever. If you are looking for inspiration on your entrepreneurs journey, Jimmy’s blog should be on your RSS list! More About: Readers , Reader , Famous , Read
Updating to WordPress 2.1
2007-01-31 16:38:01 The most recent update of Word Press proved to be more difficult than I anticipated. In the past I have been using Lowstream (with some major modifications) theme for my blog, and after updating the WordPress the older version of the theme proved to non-functional. I was at the point of completely switching to ?default? theme of WordPress which seams to be working well all the time. Fortunately Lowstream have updated their version of the theme. This time around I have chosen to make least possible modifications to save me some time in the future. This actually proved to be a good choice since so far it looks that my site is much faster while I still was able to retain the feel and look of my website from few days ago. I guess my major goal with this recent update was to preserve the feel an look of my website. Do you think I have done it? More About: Wordpress , Dating , Dati
BumpZee- should you joing this community?
2007-01-28 04:36:01 If you are an affiliate and looking for good source of information Bump Zee! is a must join community! In the past variety of blogs would satisfy my thirst for learning about affiliate marketing. I still visit them, but I find myself more drawn to BumpZee lately since most of the blogs I use to visit in the past are now in one place. But even more, there are some good discussions are happening I write. A while ago I wrote about Gene Kavner and his latest series on ?affiliate cookie life?. Gene’s article sparked a dicussion which I found very educational to say the least. While I am not sure where do I really stand on a cookie life, and as of now I am not bothered with Amazon’s 24 hours cookie. At leat for now as long as it is paying for the domain I use to promote the promote the product. Truth to be told that among other programs, Amazon is the least profitable on my list. Wikipedia?s Nofollow and SEO
2007-01-27 04:35:01 This morning I woke up to an article by Sam Harrelson about ?nofollow? attributes to all outgoing links from Wiki pedia . In his article Sam raises question about the SEO effects of ?nofollow? attributes should other social media sites choose it as a solution to combat the spam on their sites. While I am not that worried about Wikipedia, it looks like Sam is onto something. I often check the page strength of my websites at SEOmoz. Their tool factors in links from Wikipedia, and for a while I was planing to contribute to Wekiedia in hopes to get an incoming link to my website. Of course now it is no longer a priority for me, and I wonder how many other Wikipedia contributors will feel the same. It will be interesting to see if SEOmoz will remove the Wikipeida factor from their page strength toll? While reading Sams article I have learned (from Scott Jangro’s comment) that there is already a plug in for WordPress users that will give all outgoing links to Wikipedia from your blog ... Making My Readers Famous: Ryan Knowles
2007-01-27 04:35:01 A while ago I have begun to write about the visitors to my blog. MyBlogLog widget gave me new way to see the visitors to my blog, faceless numbers in my site statistics are slowly transforming into visitors who’s faces/avatars I see in among recent visitors widget located in the side bar of my website. There are days that instead of working I find myself visiting websites and blogs of those who have recently stopped by. I have found many great websites and blogs this way. One of my recent visitors was Ryan Knowles , a software engineer of 8 years and a founder and developer of PlugIM- an internet marketing social bookmarking and news website. Inspired by Digg, PlugIM allows users to submit stories and articles where other users can ?plug? your article all the way to the front page. I have noticed PlugIM a while ago when one of my articles was submitted there but have not registered until few days ago. As we ushered in 2007, it was said, among so many other predictions, that whe... More About: Readers , Reader , Famous , Read
Who is Mike Levin?
2007-01-24 04:33:01 I started to ask myself this question about tree days ago, when the traffic to my blog quadrupled. It was not difficult to answer this question and maybe you already know who he is. But I was really puzzled by the increase of traffic to my site, in particular from one referring URL which was from the website StubleUpon. It turns out that after my recent post about Hittail, the ?mastermind? behind the widget, Mike Levi n has noticed my article and submitted my website to StumbleUpon. While I am beginning to benefit from Hittail as it is, the increase in traffic associated with my blog being posted at StumbleUpon is not going down. Initially I thought it will be something like getting your article on front page of Digg, when the increase of traffic can actually shut your website down, but then returns to the normal amount of traffic. While it is not the case with the recent increase of traffic, I am not even close to reach the limit of monthly bandwidth, it sure feels great to be notic... More About: Levin

After blogging about php redirect video tutorial by Jeremy P
2007-01-15 10:21:01 After blogging about php redirect video tutorial by Jeremy Palmer, I have came across Keith’s post where he shows two other methods of cloaking the affiliate links by html as well as .htacess redirects. The great thing about Keith’s post, is that he shows how to create php and .htaccess redirects using array of links. By the way I found Keith’s post, through BumpZee!- my favorite affiliate community. Why should you care about link redirects? Here are just few reasons: To cloak (hide) the affiliate links. Evidently people are reluctant to click affiliate links. To prevent from your links being hijacked. I personally do not believe this ever happens but hey the pros say so. The clocked links look more elegant- without all the funny characters in them. I also left a question for Keith to find out whether or not it is good a idea to implement link cloaking for datafeed driven websites. So if you can been him on this one I would appreciate your help. Affiliate Marketing Carnival
2007-01-12 22:16:01 Few days ago Darren Rowse offered a great article on how to market your blog in 2007. In the article he offers about 40 tips/points of how to organize and produce a successful blog. Among 40 tips one in particular had caught my attention where he writes about Blog Carnival s. While Darren’s readers may be familiar with Blog Carnivals, it was a news to me, so I decided to check it out. As I was browsing carnivals, I could not find one that is related to affiliate marketing so I have created one called Affiliate Market ing Carnival. Blog Carnival is good place to create a ?buzz? and getting the word out about something. The Affiliate Marketing Carnival will be an ongoing one with the first edition on January 25, 2007. This edition is dedicated to Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas. So if you have some good and exciting news in regrards to Affiliate Summit, you will be able to participate in this edition of Affiliate Marketing Carnival. Who can benefit from Pay Per Call?
2007-01-12 04:15:02 I have recently came across this new (unless I was asleep for last few months/years) product called Pay Per Call . Very intereting idea. As a former real estate agent I can appreciate a product like this one. In real estate as well as in some other industries a transaction does not take place on the website, therefore while pay per click advertising helps, this new product can bring a new edge to professionals who generate their leads via telephone. Details for affiliate program can be found here. More About: Bene , Benefit
IE 7 And Affiliate Links
2007-01-12 04:15:02 After noticing that about 50% of visitors to my sites are using Internet Explorer 7, I decided to go ahead and try it for myself. I am not sure if any one else noticed it by now, but it appears that by default IE 7 will continue to show the affiliate links in the status bar even if you used onmouseover/onmouseout attributes in your links. This of course does not matter if you are using php redirects. Also whenever I try to access this site using IE 7, it takes way too much time to load and sometimes it seams like it is trying to reload the page without my interference. It happened neither in IE 6 nor Firefox. If you are a programing guru I would appreciate your help. More About: Affiliate , Links , Link
ReviewMe Quest
2007-01-11 16:14:02 After reading much about Review Me last few weeks, I have decided to give it a try and join. I am sure there will be some discussions and debates down the road about the SEO ?hat colors? in connection to ReviewMe. If you look around the blogosphere, there are already countless topics around the issue. In my opinion many miss the boat by starting such debates. Why? Well first of all ReviewMe is not being marketed as way to improve your SEO efforts. Improve traffic, virtual buzz, feedback- yes. SEO? No where on their website do they claim that reviews will improve SEO. But I guess there will be always debate over SEO every time money are exchanged for links. In order for your blog to ?qualify? at ReviewMe, it should meet certain criteria. It is a combination of Alexa Rank, Technorati Rank and estimated number of subsribers to your RSS feed. So it is not so difficult to qualify. If your blog does not qualify, the message comes up suggesting to improve these factors and come back in a fe... More About: View , Quest
