This Marketer?s Plans For 2008
2008-01-02 05:42:00 For my first post of the year I’m not even going to try giving 2008 predictions. I do it every year and get everything wrong. I totally suck at predictions. And now that some of the smoke has settled I guess I post a quick new year message. The smoke I’m referring to was my ... More About: Site News , Plans , Marketer

YouTube Video Sites Generator
2008-01-01 05:58:00 Well, it looks like this will be my last post of 2007. I'm really looking forward to 2008. One of my plans for the next year is to put a bunch of old parked domains to use. I've already started a few and I'm going to try several different methods to generate a little extra revenue. Most of my domains are niche domains that I picked up over the last several years. I had them up for sale for months but to no avail. So why not put them to use? I should be able to generate a little profit using AdSense, Clickbank and perhaps even Amazon.com. I may even try my luck at other affiliate programs and Pay Per Action (PPA) programs.I'm very excited about a brand new product that I purchased over the weekend. Oh, here we go, he's going into a sales pitch. "Why, yes I am", says the Internet Marketer. The products is YouTube Video Sites Generator In A Box and I'm so impressed I simply had to write a quick post about it.For one thing, the YouTube Video Sites Generator really works into my dec... A Little Unscientific Banner Ad Experiment
2007-12-31 06:36:00 I've been running a little unscientific banner ad experiment with our Ad Tracking Site. I was curious how different the results would be between two different banner graphics. I ran two different banners on YourAdTracker.com free member's top frames promoting my favorite advertising program - Autopilot Advertising .Before I go any further, I'll let you pick which one you feel would perform the best...Banner 1Banner 2SCROLLDOWNResults...Banner 1 results = 400,000 impressions 768 clicksBanner 2 results = 310,000 impressions 336 clicksBanner 'A' had a click-through rate of 0.019% and banner 'B' was 0.011%. Both are a little below the current industry average click-through rate of 0.020% to 0.050%. I bet you thought banner 'B' would bring in more clicks. I know I was surprised. We also ran both banners on the bottom of each page and as expected, there were less clicks with similar results. Building On Great Ideas of Great Marketers
2007-12-29 18:48:00 I'm a big believer of giving credit where credit is due. I've been meaning to spotlight a couple of well respected marketers that helped me re-think one of my websites for some time. For a long time WholesaleRight.com was a storefront offering digital products via two separate e-commerce scripts. The site made a sale every now and then but didn't really have much potential.About the time the Seven Dollar Trend was getting big, I was getting inspired by two marketers. The first marketer was the original pioneer of the Seven Dollar Trend, Doug Champigny. Doug started SevenBucks.com and at first it seemed like a nice resource where we could go to pickup a nice product package at a great price. Then in a reply to a previous Blog post, Doug Champigny told me, "SB [SevenBucks.com] was started to allow those on fixed incomes - pensioners, those on disability, welfare, etc - to get the tools they need but couldn't afford til then. We went out of our way to NOT devalue anyone's products,... More About: Ideas , Building , Great , Marketers

Are You Blind? Open Your Eyes To What Others See...
2007-12-24 23:24:00 I just opened the latest list email from Yanik Silver and he has pointed us to a terrific free video I want to share with my readers.Andy Jenkins from StomperNet has a video with over 30 minutes of pure information that will open your eyes as to what others see when they visit your website. You'll get very valuable tips on how to double your conversion rate. StomperNet gives this scientific information absolutely free. As far as I can see the only call to action is an optin form - which I gladly subscribed too because I don't want to miss the next one.I can remember all of the emails about StomperNet some time back and to be honest I didn't pay much attention. Now I wish I had given it at least a once-over because StomperNet is a Members-Only Site and is now SOLD OUT! I'm sure there will be more opportunities later or why else would the free video and subscriber list even exist? I know one thing, the next time it comes around this marketer will be paying attention. Here's the vi... More About: Eyes , Open , Blind

Is Internet Marketing Funny?
2007-12-23 18:26:00 It's about time we get a little humor injected into our Internet Marketing world.Even though I try to keep them somewhat separate, many know I love both Internet Marketing and Funny Stuff. I have two jokes sites that I use as necessary therapy: WeLoveJokes.com and CupOfFunny.com.So when my two worlds began to touch (just a little) I had to tell everyone. It's this funny guy Ron Goodwave delivering us Internet Marketing News in a hilarious way. At least he did on December the 19th and since they're calling it an 'episode' I'm hoping there will be more. The site is InternetMarketingNews.tv and as a self-proclaimed site reviewer I give Internet Marketing News three xtars (It would easily be four xtars with a little more content).
Because I Believe In Acts Of Kindness
2007-12-17 02:03:00 Tomorrow (December 17th, 2007) is the big day - Bloggers Unite for Good! In just a few hours thousands of Bloggers will take their power to the streets and display it with an act of kindness for others. It might be as small as shaking hands with a police officer and thanking them for being there or as big as donating an organ. The internet should be buzzing with post after post with Bloggers telling the world what they did to help the cause. I'm not big on causes but 'because I believe in acts of kindness' I'll do my part as well. Stay tuned for further updates.Blog Catalog is the major player responsible for this special event and has created the Blog Unite group and a Mini Site to help spread the word. This campaign is being sponsored by BlogCatalog, Bloggers & Podcaster MagDecember, BlogWorld Expo, IZEA, CopyWriteInk.com, EmomsatHome.com & AndyBeard. Squeeze In Your Squeeze Pages
2007-11-25 20:20:00 I have a quick tip that may help you get a few more sales or subscribers. This concept is not new but perhaps it will help a few readers that haven't seen it yet or have even forgotten about the idea. One great place to put lead capture pages in are directories on your site that don't use an index page. Normally I would setup a quick index page with a re-direct back to the main site. For example, say someone comes across one of my graphics in a Google search. Perhaps they want to see what else I have for them to grab so they strip off the page 'graphic_example.gif' and go to the actual directory 'www.mysiteexample.com/images'. Instead of seeing a list of graphics they would be sent to my main page.Great for protection but we can make better use of that real estate...Instead of the index page with a re-direct script, wouldn't it be better to use a lead capture page or squeeze page? Here's an example. On one of our sites we use a directory to place our weekly free downloads cal... More About: Pages , Squeeze , Ages

2007-11-08 05:17:00 "The Extreme Site promotions Blog DOES NOT use the 'No Follow' tags"First of all, while on the subject let me just say, "The Extreme Site promotions Blog does not use the 'No Follow' tags".With that out of the way, there's been a little buzz lately about blogs using tags that allow comment links to open for search engine crawlers to follow the link thereby earning the comment posted a link-back that may boost page rank.Personally, I'm going to comment on something of interest whether no follow tags are used or not. That may be why my page rank isn't way up there. I would like to see more comments and participation so maybe commenting on the right blogs would help bring search engine traffic but I still believe it's all about building relationships. For those that want to find blogs that have page rank and don't add the no follow tags Munya Chinongoza has a very cool script for just $5. I get a new job - Site Reviewer...
2007-10-24 03:44:00 It wasn't that long ago when I was asking a friend what is a 'Blog'. I think it was in early 2005, the same year I started this Blog. I'm sure I was probably one of the last ones to catch on but now I have to admit that I'm hooked. I've done a lot of Blogging lately and I'm amazed at the amount of really great content out their. I'd even go as far as using the words 'creative genius' with many of the Blog authors I've found. With all of the fantastic Blogs and sites online, it just came to me a few hours ago while devouring a couple of cool Blogs that I should start a new category or, label if you will, for this Blog. I'll call it 'Site Reviews'. I know, very unique right? There are a ton of directories and review sites out there but that's not what I want to do. I'm not qualified to rate sites in that manner anyway. I just want to give a little credit to those sites that really impress me. And of course they will relate to internet marketing in some way or anot... More About: Site News
Re-Thinking Ezine Marketing - The Truth Hurts...
2007-10-22 20:35:00 This realization has been a long time coming and would be painful for most of us to admit and I guess that's why we put it off so long. Yes, I'm talking about the Extreme Ezine . My first impulse was to sneak in the changes and hope as few people as possible would notice but I believe this admission may help others. What's The Problem ?The Extreme Ezine is moving into it's fifth year of publication and has been a top priority since day one. Our subscriber base is large and it's at that point where it grows with very little advertising. So what's the problem? We us AWeber and they provide fantastic statistics that tell the truth no matter how bad it hurts. Our 'undeliverable' rate is low so our emails are getting through thanks to AWeber's SpamAssassin TM. That's about where the good news ends. Our open rate has been steadily dropping for over a year. Don't even get me started on our click through rates! We've had all the warning signs for quite some time that ou... More About: Marketing , Truth , Site News , Thinking
I'm just blown away by Autopilot Advertising.
2007-10-07 16:25:00 I tried to avoid posting about the new Autopilot Advertising by Eva & Jules of Ezines-R-Us because I didn't want this Blog to become an advertising board. After spending some time setting up my Autopilot Advertising, I realize it would simply be an injustice to my readers and subscribers if I didn't mention it. I'm just blown away by Autopilot Advertising. You snooze you loose and I didI've had something very similar of my own brewing in the background for our future site All Pro Ads. We even decided on the same script several months ago. But as we were sitting on our hands taking our time Ezines-R-Us built an amazing package of advertising benefits that include memberships to many sites. I'm not at all insinuating Ezines-R-Us took my idea, the concept is not new at all. We were simply thinking along similar lines and they worked hard to get it done.It was a no-brainer!I joined the second I realized what it was. I'm well aware of the benefits such an advertis... Free Blog Traffic Tool
2007-09-16 07:25:00 A Little Free & Relevant Blog Traffic Can't Hurt...We have a new addition to our Blog sidebar and we're hoping it will send a few new readers our way. It's called BlogRush. Internet marketer John Reese of Income.com just released BlogRush a couple of days ago and you can already see the masses (marketers) promoting this new cool tool. Why The Fuss?So why are so many promoting this free tool that generates absolutely no affiliate income? It's simple, BlogRush generates free traffic with it's referral program and page impression tracking. Every time someone goes to a page where the widget is installed you get your blog links on some other blogs page. BlogRush also sorts it's participating blogs into categories so the traffic gained from the tool should be somewhat targeted. The referral system goes 10 levels deep and without re-writing the video on BlogRush.com you basically get traffic from your referrals just like network marketing.A few other benefits of this new blog tr... Private Label Rights - Another Information Product Solution
2007-09-15 21:49:00 Using Private Label Rights This is the second post on developing your own information products. Actually, 'acquiring' may be a better word than 'developing'. Many marketers have come to realize they simply don't have time to do it all. My last post was about using a ghostwriter and in this piece I'll focus on Private Label Rights to acquire the necessary information products to profit from internet marketing.A personal noteThis is right off my last post but I thought it important enough to repeat here.Keep in mind, you are a marketer. You may or may not be a good writer or programmer. Using these and other methods allows you to market your own products without having the skills or time to create them. If you feel outsourcing for product development is deceptive or unethical, then I'd encourage you to take a look at off-line business. If you go to Sears and buy a Craftsman table saw, who made it? Ghostwriter - An Information Product Solution
2007-08-21 23:38:00 Using a ghostwriterThis is the first of a short series of posts on developing your own information products. In this first post I want to remind you of a fantastic way of developing your own quality information products without taking the time to actually write them. I say it's a reminder because I'm sure most of us have heard of ghostwriting before but I thought it worth mentioning again in light of the recent internet marketing trend of low and no cost information products to develop lists.A personal note Keep in mind, you are a marketer. You may or may not be a good writer or programmer. Using these and other methods allows you to market your own products without having the skills or time to create them. Now anyone can sell Exit Prophet Pro without any of the usual steps normally required to earn commissions as an affiliate. In fact, there is no affiliate signup and you earn 100% of the sales price. Why's The Candy So Cheap? - The Seven Dollar Trend
2007-08-04 14:28:00 Remember way back in grade school when you were taught that selling one piece of candy for a dime was the same as selling 10 pieces of candy for a penny each, only more kids got candy with the later? Then later you realized there was a difference, you had to work a little harder to sell ten items. For some time now we've been seeing internet marketers selling penny candy and it was hard to understand. I just chalked it up to the 'sheep' mentality. I'm not going to make any friends by saying this but it seems that when a marketer appears to have success you have an entire herd of sheep trying to replicate it. There's nothing wrong with replicating successful tactics, that's not who I'm referring to. I'm talking about those that follow suit so precisely there is no original thought going into anything they do. Want proof? How many products have you seen with a $97 price tag? And $47? I know many are simply reselling at the required or recommended price but look how many m... More About: Trends , Dollar , Candy , Cheap , Trend
A new spin on outdoor advertising!
2007-07-06 02:54:00 As much as I love advertising, I can't imaging enduring the job of being a human advertising sign - or at least the guy holding the sign. My son, now grown, worked for a very short time for a flower shop dressed up as a panda bear holding a sign up on the corner. Can you think of anything more boring? Or for a teenager, more humiliating? That was then and this is now. Leave it to California to put a spin on something so bland and turn it into a flashy trend.Back in 2002 a couple of college students, Max Durovic and Michael Kenny, in San Diego got board with their street-corner human billboard jobs and began developing tricks and cool moves with the hand-held signage. This type of head turning extreme advertising draws attention! Fast forward a bit and we get yet another American success story as these two creative men formed Aarrow Advertising . Aarrow Advertising's "sign spinners" are all over the net, including YouTube and large media such as the L.A. Times and NPR.These ?si... More About: Spin , Outdoor , Vert

Selling The Moon
2007-05-09 04:22:00 Who says you can't have the moon and stars? We've all seen the success of the International Star Registry and now there are many different companies promising the moon and the stars. The Lunar Registry? sells lunar real estate. Prices for customers in the US and Canada range from $18.95/acre to $37.50/acre.Perhaps the coolest thing about The Lunar Registry, at least to us marketers, is the radio promotional program they developed called 'Moon Someone!?'. Basically, in exchange for appropriate and prominent credit and promotional consideration, The Lunar Registry will provide radio stations prize packages for the stations to use in their contests. I love this simple idea and who ever put this plan into action has my respect. Check it out here.Lunar Embassy sells land on the moon for 29.99 to $59.99 an acre. The Lunar Embassy makes the following claims: ? Over 2,000,000+ people from 176 countries around the world own extraterrestrial property. ? To date, more than 300 mi... More About: Selling , The Moon
The Battle For Email Deliverability
2007-04-16 01:10:00 In today's fight against spam, many ISPs filter emails using a technique called "content filtering". Content filtering looks at the words, links, and images to determine if that message is likely spam. That ISP may block the message from being delivered to the subscriber if they believe it may be spam. A message that is incorrectly filtered is called a "false positive". This occurs when a subscriber has specifically opted in for the email but the ISPs filtering program mistakenly classifies it as spam. Hurt by your own subscribersMembers of AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, Earthlink, Outblaze, Road Runner, Excite and others can push a button to report a message as spam. Unfortunately many people push the button when they no longer wish to receive the newsletter rather than unsubscribing. Some don't realize what they are doing and just do it so your future emails go into their spam box. If the number of complaints gets too high, ISPs may block your messages altogether.Advertisers can be th... More About: Email , Battle , Deli
