Imagine being in a place where you don’t speak the native language. It’s a bit strange. Think about how important it is to read & speak to communicate. What if you couldn’t read the signs or understand the words when someone spoke to you and didn’t even know how to ask a question. That’s not quite where I am now but it’s somewhat like that. My German is scheisse (sh!t)…about a 1 on a scale of 10 and that might be generous. What do you do when the proverbial “shit hits the fan?” It could be something in your personal or your professional life but it happens to everyone at some point in time and how we react to it could be crucial. Depending on the situation it could literally be life or death or it could figuratively be life or death for your business or a personal relationship. So how do you handle these situations? We’re all different people so there probably is no definitively right answer, there is only a right answer for YOU. If at all possible, my initial reaction is to do nothing. I don’t mean ignore the situation and hope it will blow over. I mean don’t make a quick emotionally driven response that you might regret later.
