Guest Post-Make Money from Forums
2008-06-04 18:42:00
The Chris Johnson Project continues to grow. We have had several advertisement inquiries and now we can proudly present a guest post from Sarah Scrafford, an industry savvy writer of some very informative articles. Here is her post, enjoy:Make Money from Forums There are a host of opportunities to make money online, if only you knew where to start and how to go about it. While some options like freelance and blog writing, web designing and online selling require a basic skill set (like a command over language, HTML) , others like answering online surveys, reading emails and posting to forums do not require you to do much other than to have access to a computer and an Internet connection. Internet forums, a place where people can discuss anything relevant to the forum title, can make you money in more ways than one, and here?s how:· A forum can indirectly help attract readers to your website. Instead of relying only on search engine optimization and other marketing tools, add...

Speaking of being a Broker
2008-05-09 16:02:00
Brokering information is a great way to get into the online money business. Many people want information but can't spend the time looking in all the nooks and crannies of the internet. Sometimes they are willing to pay you to find them leads, like at Innersell. Here, if you know someone who has a need for a Service or Product that you don't provide, you can enter them into Innersell as a lead. Choose the companies who will contact the client and if they close the deal you get paid! If you don't know any companies, sign up for a free account at TradeKey. This way you can troll the waters of international trade, and maybe start your own import/export business.

Note Business
2008-05-08 16:09:00
Another good way to make money, if you have the patience, is being a note broker. Basically you find notes for sale (people who have mortgages that they own, got lottery winnings, settlements, etc) and don't want to wait for the payments. They sell them at a discount and you, as the broker, take a commission. Not a bad deal, really. But you have to know where to look for the notes and where to go to sell them. I am toying around with the idea of writing a resource for this industry, but there might be a small cost for an ebook. Let me know your thoughts.

ECurrencty Exchange part 2
2008-04-24 19:43:00
Ok, so I'm a few days late. But here's the basics. Everyone has their favorite type of ecurrency, and businesses are no exception. The margins on conversion between currencies are very high, mostly because they can be, and all the competition has historically had high fees. The simplicity of the business is great. One website with a script sent to email with account numbers and currency amounts, match up those accounts with their respective payments and viola, you have lift off. Just siphon off a certain percentage per day, week, month whatever, and distribute to backers and partners. Not too shabby. No regulation either.

It's Been a While
2008-04-21 18:45:00
It's been a couple of weeks since I last posted and I'd love to say it's because I lost track of the time wallowing in the untold riches I've garnered from the InterWeb. But alas, it is not so. I go to college as well for some good ole learnin'. The last few classes have been hard, so I've been away a bit. I'd like to experiment more with the site, but right now I'm using my own money for advertising and that's not much. So in that vein, I'd like to throw out an invite. I am thinking about starting an e-currency exchange site between the following:EgoldPayPalPecunixE-BullionWeb MoneyVirtual GoldNet PayHowever, this would require a large investment on my part to get off the ground, about $5,000.00 dollars to start (I know, doesnt' sound like much to some but it is to me) I am willing to go into equal partnership with any backers, I will build the site and supply it for review to all partners before launch, and I am willing to speak personally with each backer before...

Some of the things I am trying now are really directed toward niches. For example, Jobamatic allows you to set up a job board for your site, you may have noticed the widget off to the side. They actually have a really decent rate for clicks on the jobs posted to your site via back links and you set the price for employers to post jobs to it. You get half of that scratch. So what I did, was set up a site devoted to California jobs (yep you can choose what jobs appear) and registered the domain name www.cajobsonline.com (if you want to go there an check it out, please feel free) I emailed a lot of recruiter firms out there and we'll just need to wait and see. I've been doing a little Adwords with this one, but I think I need to up my budget to get real exposure. I have also decided to throw my hat into the domain name sales arena and bought www.godofbeer.com and am now attempting to sell it via auction at GoDaddy's domain aftermarket. I've sent an email to Anheuser-Busch, ...

Job Boards
2008-03-26 18:40:00
I'm doing some experimentation with job boards right now to see how feasable the idea is for making money. Right now, I'm going through Jobamatic.com and trying different geographical locations for job boards. I will keep everyone posted on how it goes. Plus I am working on a few other side projects right now like my other blog The Almighty Dollar, and some membership sites I'm trying at home. I will keep everyone posted and I will update my stats on the moneypage soon.
Content for Cash
2008-03-17 20:38:00
One of the better ways to make some cash from the web is still content writing. Lots of folks have sites and, lets face it, keeping fresh content on it can be a bear. Any blogger out there will tell you it's true. So leverage a knowledge base of people who are motivated to write snappy content. Constant Content is a site that has a really nice set up, allowing for some pretty decent payouts, from $10 to $100.00 and up. I really recomend checking it out, and the rest of the programs on The Money Page.

I talked about membership sites last time and I wanted to let you know that I will be taking my own advise and am currently working on one to be unveiled at a later date (as soon as I figure out what I'm doing). I have found a fairly good free service to help build a professional web page ala Dreamweaver and Front Page, it's called Seamonkey. It's from the cats who make Mozilla, my browser of choice, and it's got some nice features. Best of all it's free. It does have some limitations, you can't insert forms for example, you need to write them in HTML, but you can't have everything. Also, it would seem that Prosper is getting to be pretty popular among the readership. Personally, I think it's awesome. Especially now that there are so many people who need a loan and banks just aren't willing to underwrite them, or the amount they want to borrow is too small. Plus if you sign up under me, you get money. Not too shabby. Check it out. Go on, I'll wait.....

Membership sites
2008-03-06 03:39:00
Membership sites are a great way to make money, but you need to have a product that people are willing to pay for. You really have only two options here: offer something someone else doesn't already offer, or improve upon an existing idea. Niches are great for this kind of activity, because they are often small enough that big business hasn't already captured that market segment, and they are big enough that they provide a continuous stream of revenue from people who are really into that topic. Devotion to a market segment can make your site, so make sure that you are building your brand by following through with the things you say on your site, and make it sticky with features. People like to one stop shop.

2008-03-02 06:23:00
The forum is now up and running. There are no posts yet, though I do hope you can help me with that. I am currently scouring the interweb for new money programs and I have found a few which will be added to the Money Programs Page shortly. I will also be working on my guest blogging at Can I Make Big Money Online, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Remember, the Forum was placed there for you, use it. If you have good experiences, share them, if they were bad, tell others how to avoid the same mistakes, if you became an internet millionaire, then FOR GOD'S SAKE TELL US HOW!!!! And most importantly, keep it fun and keep it clean. Any dirty stuff will be removed immediately (or when I find it, which ever comes first)
Casino and Gambling

Well, some of you say that casino sites are ok, so I'll go with it. I have taken the poll off since many of you responded via email. I have included a widget here to Slotland.com, a site that has had very positive reviews. I will add them also to the money pages soon, though it won't be tonight as I am suffering from some sort of stomach doom.

Niches are where it's at. If you have a knowledge of something special, or an interest in a particular hobby, write about it. It's a safe bet that others share your passion in the wide world out there, and they either know something you don't and wouldn't mind sharing, or want to learn what you already know. Breed horses? Blog about it. Know all the best tips for personal shoppers? Throw up a Hub on Hubpages. Big into the underwater basket weaving scene? Make a lens on Squidoo. If your not sure what to write about, go to Helium.com and join up. They will give you the topics. Write about four or five articles, if you notice a theme, that's probably your niche. Then you need to monetize the site, luckily Squidoo and Hubpages are already integrated with Amazon and Adsense. After a while move to the blog world and share away. Then invest the money. A great place I've found is Prosper. Prosper underwrites loans and you buy them by bidding your money at a certain in...

Guest Blogging
2008-02-19 20:12:00
Just wanted to let you all know that I have secured a spot guest blogging on Can I make Big Money Online so you should be seeing some of my posts on there soon. It's a really great blog with lots of relevant information for anyone looking to make money online, so if you don't already subscribe to their RSS feed, you should. Also, guest blogging is a great way to gain influence and publicity in the blog community, as well as showing you want to participate. The tips I can offer is to make sure that the blog you want to guest blog on has a good readership level and a good amount of uniqe visitors per day. Also you want to ensure that the webmaster will allow a back link in the post to your website. Just remember, though, it is their blog, so affiliate links in the posts are generally considered to be bad karma and usually only one backlink is allowed per post.

An update on some programs
2008-02-15 15:50:00
Selling PPP has posted a comment on it's message board that they are temporarily closing the affiliate sign up, because they have more affiliate sites than advertisements. They are activly persuing more advertisers and will reopen the program when they restore equilibrium. Moola.com has also added a few features to their site, namely the ability to cash out into PayPal when you verify your account. To verify, they send you an SMS text message to your phone and you punch the code into Moola. Also, they have a spot where you can donate some of your winnings and boosters to charities like the Big Brother Big Sister Program and Habitat For Humanity. Worthy causes all.

Some New Programs on the Money Page
2008-02-13 16:45:00
I've added some new programs to the Money Programs Page . The Voxant News Room and Scratch Back are great for content and advertising. Also, I'd like to re-throw out there that this blog needs your comments, and participation so please send any posts you'd like to see on here to chrisjohnsonproject@email.com and I will review them. If you've tried any of the programs here, let the readership know how they've worked for you, or if you have other programs you'd like to see added, let me know. Lastly, I will be working on the Forum page to add topics for every one to talk about, if you'd like. Lastly, I will be putting a poll up online to ask about your thoughts on adding gaming website programs to the site. Let me know your thoughts.
Pay Per Play
2008-02-11 19:03:00
There is a new program that is gaining alot of followers in the paid advertising realm. Selling PPP is a system that pays you for every uniqe visitor that goes to your site regardless of whether they click on anything or not. They provide you with a code that you place in the HTML of your site, and it generates a five second audio advertisement when they view the page. This will be a ground breaking business, and it's best to get in on the ground floor while you can on these. It's free to join, as always, but your site must allow editing of the HTML code to put the snippet in. It's still very new and they are working out the bugs. There is a blog that keeps the members up to date, and as of now not all sites are running ads, but they are working diligently to get them all up and running. Go here to check the site out.

See, this is why I get mad....
2008-02-08 05:05:00
I have spent the last hour and a half looking through the pages on various search engines for programs to make money online that are free. I have seen a few sites that have some decent income levels, but most of them are paid sites. Some cost upwards of $200.00!! That's US dollars. Here is my problem with that. How do you trust them? I could join some obscure downline-MLM-Referrral building program that no one's ever heard of and tell you it's in "beta" and then get half my friends to post on a forum and tell you it's the greatest thing since canned air (Spaceballs reference). Will that make it true? I looked into a forum, I won't say which one, because it's Thursday and I keep secrets on Thursdays, and there were some posts that looked very promising, 7 year old company, real numbers, talked with the CEO, registered in the US, etc. Forward a few pages, and no one's heard from the admin in two weeks, the site is "under repair" and no commission checks have been sent ...

I'd like for anyone interested to submit content to me that they feel this blog would benefit from. My only requirement is that it be helpful to the readers. Send your post to me at chrisjohnsonproject@email.com and I will review it. If I like it and think it's helpful, I'll post it. Please make sure that you include ONE link to your own website after your name, for the readers to check out your site as well. Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you.

RSS and Blog Directories
2008-02-05 21:14:00
RSS submissions and blog directories are an essential tool in any bloggers arsenal. I have learned that a good RSS feeder with email subsciption capability, is a lifeline I can't afford not to have. http://www.feedburner.com/ is a great site, where you can get reports on your sites performance, as well as widgets to place on your site for folks to subscribe. A feed submits your posts and content to any one who signs up, as you publish it, it's like an email list on autopilot. Another great idea is to submit to directories that people regularly read to boost your readership. A great collection of these, as well as RSS submission sites, can be found here. Some are out of date though so don't be surprised if it kicks out.

Moola.com
2008-02-03 16:43:00
It looks like Moola is fast becoming one of the more popular programs on this site! There have been alot of people who have signed up for a Moola account. It's probably because the games are so much fun. My favorites are the Gold Rush and Ro Sham Bo Fu games. I also like how you can make money with their search bar feature. If playing games is something you like to do, and possibly win money if you don't use the Play for Free feature, I suggest you check out the games at uVme they have amazing graphics quality. I played the nine ball pool game, and the play was awesome. I may see about doing some contests on this site as well. There are also a few new additions to the Money Programs Page, and I've included text links to most of the sites for those who've turned off the graphics settings in their browsers.
Where to set up a site?
2008-02-01 14:31:00
If you are going to blog about something, I feel that your best bet is Blogger.com. They have a great "plug and play" system that makes it very easy to set up your blog. For you HTML'rs out there, they also give you the ability to modify and rewrite the HTML code for the pages. They are also already integrated with Adsense, and if you go to Google's Webmaster Tools you can submit a sitemap to them by having your Blogger URL and adding the extension "rss.xml" without the "" marks. There are tons of services that are compatable with Blogger as well. This helps Google crawl your site more effectively, and adds tools and advertisments that your readers will want to use. Some really good and effective marketing strategies can be found at www.doshdosh.com.

Pay per Click and Pay per Email
2008-01-31 00:04:00
Up until now I have stayed away from the pay per "insert action here" sites, mostly because they are so hard to maintain. There are so many out there that aren't easy to make money from, and the others are flung far and wide on the net. The possible exception is Marketing Pond. This site combines a lot of these programs together so that you have a back office of sorts just for these programs. The pay outs that they advertise are pretty decent as well, and one even gives you a $10.00 bonus for signing up. Sure you get a bunch of emails, but if you get paid, who cares. This is new for me, so I will be attempting to do the email thing and the survey thing to see if it's worth while, but this program also works with Linkshare, and Traffic Swarm. I have had some good results with Linkshare before I joined Marketing Pond, so I can vouch for this program at least. I will update as I go on whether or not this is worth the time, but it shows promise.

Free Programs
2008-01-28 05:18:00
Well, this is definitely a tough gig!! There are tons of programs out there, but some are scams, some don't pay a whole lot, or have unreasonable expectations of their members. The astute reader will notice, for example, that there are no HYIP's (High Yield Interest Programs ) on this site. I have tried a few of them and they have all turned out to be rip offs. Now I'm not saying that there isn't one out there that is honest, but I doubt it heavily. Here's and example. I used to run a bank. One of my clients came in and deposited a decent amount into his account and wired it to a HYIP. In a strange twist of fate, it was a program I had heard of, and was participating in, though no where near the amount of cash this guy put in. It had been around for about five to seven years, yep years, and had always paid out. Then one day....poof. No more site. This guy put thousands into this thing, and I lost about $20.00. So here's my perspective. I won't say that all of the...

Affiliate programs
2008-01-26 05:38:00
So far affiliate programs look to be the way to go. Several that I list on the Money Programs page have programs where you can get paid several levels deep. Now the trick, as I've said before is to generate quality traffic. I am beginning to see that the free link sites and free traffic sites are bringing in only those who are interested in promoting their own sites, since the bounce rate on those is so high. But the ones coming from the search engines themselves stay a while and look around. One tool I have used with some success, and is extremely easy to use is WebCEO. The free version has helped me to submit my site to dozens of search engines. Also, there is a surprising amount of functionality for a free version, makes me wonder what the paid version can deliver. There have been some additions to the money programs, I've had some success with Shutterstock, though I confess I sort of fell out of it. If you have a higher pixel camera you should be in good shape, just d...

Promoting My Blog
2008-01-24 20:35:00
I've tried to promote my blog through free channels, so I've submitted my URL to a whole bunch of search engines and blog indexes. The indexes have not yielded anything yet, but then I only did them yesterday, so I'll reserve judgement. These sites however, have given me traffic:Blog ger.com - 33.33% of my total trafficLinkreferral.com - 20.82%Freewebs.com - 6.12%Google.com - 5.31%Blogcarnival.com - 4.90%TrafficG.com - 4.49%However, traffic isn't everything. I want to know where to focus my efforts, so thanks to Google Analytics, I have analyzed my bounce rate (the rate at which people go to then leave my site without clicking anything. In this case a lower percentage is better)They are as follows:Google - 33.33% left without clicksFreewebs. 53.33%Blogger - 65.17%Blogcarnival - 66.67%Linkreferral - 90.20%So far the others have just delivered people who are clicking to get their own traffic up. Make Money for Free, Not For Nothing.
2008-01-23 21:30:00
I just wanted to make sure that I stress that you can make money online without having to pay for it, but not without having to work for it. One of the more effective ways is to blog about something you know and like. That way you'll always have something to talk about and interested people will follow along. This site, for example, was born from my annoyance at the lack of cohesive information about how to make money online, and not have to deal with the "Buy my eBook!", or "Try this program for only $89.99!!" garbage. Not to say that some of them won't work, but I wanted to see what was available to Joe Everyguy. There are tons of sites out there that you can set up, but you need to market them actively. There are no sites that I have seen that you can sign up on, go to sleep, and the next morning have money in an account. The programs that I have listed, and will continue to list, are free to join, as in there are no fees. Take a look and see what you like. We'll get...
