2007-03-02 19:35:01 Whether or not it’s the best idea, I’m going to roll out a new blog and start fresh. I’ll be starting over from scratch so my old posts won’t resurface and get in the way. The difference this time I’ll pay better attention to branding my blog. Sure, I’m going to miss out on some traffic but I’m confident that pruning my blog this way will create even more traffic when I’m done. A poorly branded blog is really a waste of time and energy. If you think about all that hard work you put into your blog and if ad sponsors aren’t willing to associate their name with it, then what’s the point? Aren’t we trying to position our blogs to make more money? I just got an email from an insurance company willing to purchase a text link on my blog. 2007-03-02 19:35:01 If you’ve been reading my blog you already know that I’m gearing up for change. That means I have to restructure this blog or sell it. It doesn’t have to be deleted, just changed. I really don’t want any part of it following me except the friendships that I’ve made. So I’m going to clarify a few things. In the beginning when I first desired to make money online I was leaning towards selling products. That was back in late 2005. To tell you what I thought about the Internet then should make you laugh. I was convinced that I could sell any product, as long as I had a website, and make a fortune. The one product I had in mind was a candle. I thought I would buy them for $0.25 and sell them $30. lol That’s when I moved on to thinking it would be better to create a whole line up of products, not just one. I’m not convinced that the majority of us who start blogs are going to maximize our return on investment. It takes too much of our time for pocket change. I listened to John Chow’s podcast on Talkmatic, Episode 3: Inside The Mind of a Web Mogul. Chow says that eventually he’ll pass the blog work onto someone else. A full transfer? Whatever the case, it’s about leveraging time. If you’re aspiring to make money online then I’m going to recommend you add other online real estate to your revenue making machines. I toured ClickBank to see what they might have that I could put on my site, but all the sales pages were the same old, long, yellow highlighted crap. That sh*t is wack! No, I don’t use the word ?wack? when I speak but seriously now. I found only one thing that I’m going to offer because it’s supposedly ?the king of ClickBank? and that is Satellite T.V. for your PC. Get it only if you like Television. I personally hate Television. That’s all I’m going to say about that. If you notice in my little money-money box in the center sidebar, you’ll see MyLot. What’s the benefit of this? It’s word of mouth advertising that I want my businesses to thrive on. What I know about communities is that whenever a community is presented with something to call their own it naturally gets the support it needs. What I’ve learned about marketing is that nothing beats positive word of mouth. The two qualities together on these new websites will generate the lifeblood of the Internet needed to secure new revenues. Blog ging has taught me it’s largely about the traffic.
