Ok, realistically I won’t sell it in 29 minutes but you could do easily do this everyday and make about $50-100 USD building and selling these little babies on eBay or even Sitepoint. Best sites to build are in the make money niche as people who search for this keyword want to be sold too and want a cure so we are going to give them just that. Remember, we know that its very hard work to make money online in reality, but we can supply their need with a well set out “Content Managed Site” ready to make money. PHP CMS Saves Your Life, Amazing Drupal How to?
2008-01-17 23:11:00 For anyone looking to use a CMS (Content Managment System) to build their first site, Drupal could save your life? I know it would mine, so I thought I’d lay it out for you - What you need to set-up Drupal: A Linux based Server One MySQL Database Get some Hosting Here (if you don’t have a good host already). A tiny bit about Drupal - it’s a clean, powerful, Content Managment System a bit like Wordpress is. Well in fact, Drupal differs from Wordpress and the likes of PHP-Nuke because they are built around core functions where as Drupal is built on a modular. It’s very light on features and would actually suit a blogger or a news site. (Commonly used for news sites more than blogs) You can add a host of features should you wish, it could quite easily run an eCommerce Store or Corporate Site. Step One: File Download - Drupals installation is suprisingly easy, start by downloading Drupal to your machine. You will end up with a Gunzipped Tarball file. Windows wi... Review: Slick new Affiliate Network PepperJamNetwork
2008-01-16 15:22:00 I have been an affiliate for most the Major Network s and I have also looked after over 5000 affiliates as a Merchant. So I see what an Affiliate needs and what a Merchant needs to provide a good balance and working structure between the two. I have pros and cons for most of these Networks mostly being in the customer service area, lack of emails on promotions is one. I also have limited patience for their usability and navigation. Networks like Comission Junction make it hard to do the most simple things. So, onto this newly developed Affiliate Network - PepperJamNetwork - In this review I want to concentrate on benefits so If you want to know more about the owners / co-founders etc, Read about them Here. On first glance the overall look and design is nothing new, lets get this straight though. You as an Affiliate want to be the best, you want to create high traffic niche websites or huge converting Pay Per Click campaigns. All that send traffic to a Merchant that will convert and ... How to Maintain Search Engine Rankings on a Site Redesign
2008-01-15 22:05:00 One part of owning a website that will keep Designers busy is the redesign - you will need one soon I promise! Whether the look of the site needs updating or the functionality some of not all websites change frequently and this can compromise your search engine rankings. Web designers now need to be very aware of Organic Search Engine Rankings when changing a clients website. It’s not just a simple case of deleting your old files and uploading the newly redesigned site. Because all your pages have already been ranked and given a listing, any change to a page name or the platform it resides on could be and more than likely be lost. This could mean loss of your business, earnings, everything! You need to plan carefully yo get this right when thinking about updating your website. I have found one simple solution is to use URL Mapping. It works by first creating a list of all your old page names and a brief description of what they are about. This is going to be crucial when map... More About: Web Development , Search Engine , Site
How to Start and Run a Hosting Business - Part 2
2008-01-14 23:28:00 I’m going to try and not buy a reseller account from another reseller who has bought their account from a reseller (still with me) so if you’re going to start a hosting business you need to research very reliable Reseller hosts or look into a VPS or Dedicated server. VPS stands for “Virtual Private Server” and gives you the feeling of having a stand-alone dedicated server but for less cost. VPS also offers you the features of dedicated server but it’s still being shared by others. A good VPS host will allocate enough resources on their VPS to manage the amount they are selling too (without overselling). One sleep-at-night benefit is being isolated from other clients, no matter how heavy their traffic is it won’t affect your website or customers. For me, it all lies with technical support if I purchased a VPS, hence I would need to pay for Level One support as soon as I launch the site which is an added start up and ongoing cost. This is because o... More About: Business , Hosting , Web Development , Start , Part
Rootkit Virus and this Months Funniest Email
2008-01-12 15:02:00 Warning over Rootkit Virus that exploits your hard drive by trying to overwrite a part of the Master Boot Record (MBR). AuctionAds integrates with ShoppingAds - this network never converted well on this blog so I removed it. I might trial their code again but I’m not that motivated to do so yet. Had some amazing emails this month but this one goes down as the best - the following incident you’re about to read is Fact, if you are of a squeamish nature please look away! “I want instruction in how to make a money through net business without investments” Regards (name withheld) What would Your best answer to this be? Lastly Israel contacted me from FatManUnleashed he said us bloggers need to get in shape and stop sitting on our lazy fat ass all day. I agree. Big News from NetBusinessBlog.com
2008-01-11 21:07:00 Wanted to update you all on whats been happening at NBB. Blog still needs some attention - I’m not keen on the logo (bit cheesy really) so that is going to be re-designed along with other creatives (banners). Thinking of getting a quote from David Airey. (he might contact me once he see’s this link in his stats) Archives are still being fixed along with some coding issues (getting there though) Not sure if any regulars would have noticed but we are on a new server (London UK DataCentre) and no longer with Hostgator. It’s lightening fast for me, hope it is for all of you? I will plug the guys who look after my servers soon as they are very good! Competitions are not working out? Do you guys think I need to do Contests / Competitions. I may remove it and focus on content instead of promotional gifts? Feedback on this would be good… More Affiliates have been signing up to our Affiliate Program which is a good sign, need more to do so though. You can read about... What the Hell is Streamy.com?
2008-01-10 16:34:00 I have no clue what Streamy.com is yet, (porn site?) but I do know that I’m getting lots of visitors from them. After hitting the front page I found this “Quote” Why We Won?t, and Don?t Intend to ?Kill? Digg That’s a rather big statement, wonder if it will amount to much… I have since read their blog to find they have been around for some time, I’ve only just come across them today. Looks good as I think there is plenty of room for another social meeting ground that shares and spreads information around the web. Maybe not as boring as Digg. I’m going to sign up to the invitation and see what happens. One blog comment said “Although I visit Digg regularly it?s with little sense of anticipation these days - Streamy looks like it will be much more interesting” I’m yet to see this but I would never have heard of them if I didn’t check my blog stats. One things for sure, I’m loving the traffic they’re sending m... More About: Promotion , General , Hell
How to Start and Run a Hosting Business - Part 1
2008-01-09 19:45:00 This is just something I always wanted to do because I have a keen interest in Hosting and Servers etc…(geeky I know) I did give this a start when I was very naive and new to the net I was quickly put off by so many forums stating there is to much competition out there. I still have my domain name and I had gotten used the billing software and even had fraud protection on orders in place from a third party company. I think although the Market is saturated you can still compete on a smaller level as I 100% believe that 90% of hosting is Customer Service. Some of you who are already hosts may put me right on some pitfalls to watch for, it seems so many new money makers to the net want to jump into this business as they think it might be simple. Like any business it is hard work and I have been burnt by both hosting companies that have gone under and even domain registrars like RegisterFly which famously went under. Even if you want to start from your home office or bedroom it ca... More About: Business , Web Development , Start , Part

2008-01-08 21:37:00 Final update for sometime as I want to summarise what has happened since I started this case study and what will be planned for the future. My Budget for this project is - $500 Total amount I have spent so far - $142.83 I have purchased services from the following websites: Submit2Please - Submission in 500 Directories $99.95 SubmitEdge - 100 Article Submission Service with free Unique 500 word Unique Article $30 NameCheap - SSL Certifcate $12.88 Remember, I’m getting my foundations set out correctly for this little business. It seems after much difficulty I have found a seemingly decent looking service that does actually have staff and answers emails! Forum Shock who I mentioned in a previous update is not running so do not try and contact that website. Mini (Niche) Affiliate Site using a Forum - Part 7
2008-01-04 18:59:00 The latest update on the quest to build a Successful Niche Forum . I’ve had nothing back from ForumShock or HackerSafe so I will need to chase them up…thanks to Andrew Mason who told me to try Submit2Please I think will try them and a service provided by a DigitalPoint user. I’m getting some ground work done but the most important issue is Members, this is where I need ForumShock or another to at least help get some content in there or this project will fail if I have traffic and no users. This is the most fundamental part of a forum building process. I have just purchased Submit2Please 500 directories for $99 which will take them approximately 18 days. I like the fact the tell you the time scales as this is important and will save me chasing them up on this service (Jon Warass take note). Lets see what happens, I’m impressed at the site and testimonials so lets wait and see… After not hearing from HackerSafe I have decided to add a Single Root SSL to sh... Our New Theme and a Contest for 2008!
2008-01-03 15:33:00 The new theme is finally Live! Its taken over two months partially due to technical issues as I wanted some Bespoke coding done which we still had to postpone due the complexity. I am happy with the overall usability and functionality of the new look NetBusinessBlog. I started looking into a new theme for the blog the day I took over here at NBB. I was busy with other things until I finally went to a few business forums to ask for pricing etc… I actually had a theme built which didn’t suit the style I was looking for and just as I was about too go elswhere I was approached by RealityHosting asking if they could design and build the new theme. After looking at their previous work I was happy to go ahead. David Saraiva of RealityHosting has been excellent and very thorough throughout this project. I am very happy with the customer service I have received and level of satisfaction. The new spec allows more space for advertising and other features like Competition / Guest P... 2008-01-01 23:44:00 I’m waiting for SubmitEdge to finish and I am already a bit worried when I saw some of their english grammer mistakes (not just typos) in the set-up section when you sign up to their service. How to Make $250,000 in the Next 365 days.
2007-12-31 18:30:00 The single most important part of promotion for any website or blog is getting more and more traffic, then using that traffic to make lots of money. Even untargeted traffic can be good traffic. Most businesses are based around a numbers game, unless you’re doing it just for the love! Lets pick out some well known online bloggers in the Make Money Online niche and sum-up their route to Stardom! ProBlogger - this guy did it the long way by just being good at blogging and offering his readers top quality Articles. (he got in early also and stuck with it) This all boils down too, how can you do the same and get the same amount of traffic with a kiss ass loyal following and wads of cash? If you cannot follow in the footsteps of Mr Chow and write Digg, Slash quality posts which I’m sure are not quality but nerdy enough to get Dugg lots of times which equals insane amounts of traffic. Poll: Should NetBusinessBlog have a business forum?
2007-12-30 17:38:00 Fairly unanimous I guess. I’m not happy with the outcome as I really wanted to add this for January and may still do it. It was worth doing the Poll to gauge some opinions. Some quick news, we have been having hosting issues which have now been fixed and also the new theme is getting closer. Again I wanted so many features I have had to drop some just to get the theme Live! I would like to thank Hostgator for being a great host, although I have given them a bit of grief this month. I will be leaving them next month but I still have a Reseller Plan with them which I have had since 2005 and never had any issues with (small downtime). I really like that fact these guys are available at anytime day or night which is good to know in a Host. You need to have confidence in your host as these guys hold your business up online. Being an Amazon Affiliate is Expensive!
2007-12-28 20:38:00 I am an Amazon Affiliate and have been promoting their products via Google Adwords. One major issue with being an Amazon Affiliate is their tracking, you’d think the World’s number one eCommerce Store would try and help their hard working Affiliates as much as possible. Unfortuntely this is not the case, one headache is Live Tracking which they do not offer. So, for me using Google Adwords I need to track my sales live to make sure I’m getting the best ROI (Return On Investment) and using the best converting Keywords but I cannot. I will only find this out 24 hours later and then I may have lost a lot of money. Your Google Adsense code should be here, but you forgot to edit the plugins/adsense.php file and replace the code there with your own. You see Amazon track(s) sales over a 24 hour period, so I can only see If I sold that product 24 hours later which is a bit of a guessing game. November 20th to December 27th earnings. 2007-12-26 23:47:00 I have so far fixed my issue with the SEO (url_rewrite) so now that is done I can start getting some posting done in the forum, I think I might need to start doing this myself. One thing I’m working on today is getting a reliable quality service to help me research my market and place excellent information (posts) in the forum for the members. 2007-12-19 02:42:00 So far it has all been about promotion but then that is most of what you have to do with any business. The rest is easy, I find. I have now paid for VisitorHost just to get numbers flowing and have also purchased the DIRSP 1000 directories submission for $69.99 for long term link-building benefits. (I do wonder how many directories actually activate your link, but its worth doing even if I got a 10% ratio) I have come across someone on Site point who is offering their serivce for $99 USD to hand-submit a Press Release to 57+ PR Sites & Networks. This will be invaluable as it will also do wonders for both SEO and link-building. Outsourcing these tasks allows me to concentrate on getting content in the forum but to be honest I could just outsource everything. BlogRush: a Waste of Programming.

And what may you ask is the good title…I don’t have the answer to that question. Well…I do, it must have trigger words that match your target market Audience, that is one key fundimental. Mini (Niche) Affiliate Site using a Forum - Part 3
2007-12-14 14:36:00 Yesterday I spent the day scouring around for more services to promote the forum. Capture Attention By Telling A Story
2007-12-10 23:56:00 I?ve started a series about capturing attention in the overcrowded internet. I?m basing the series on the book Made To Stick: Why Some Ideas Thrive and Others Die written by Chip and Dan Heath. This book has 6 great principles that will help your site stick in people?s minds. Today we?ll talk about the last principle, Story . We were made to tell and hear stories. Think about the last time you hung out with a good friend. What did you both talk about? Probably you told each other stories. When you think about it, our lives are just one big story composed of smaller “sub-stories”. I don’t want to get too philosophical but stories are very powerful. It’s curious then that online businesspeople talk a lot about statistics, principles, rules, and metrics. These things have their place. However, oftentimes the story aspect of business is neglected. Here are examples where telling stories has impacted niches and businesses and their customers. Examples This US New... More About: Capture , Attention
Capture Attention By Tapping The Emotion
2007-12-09 22:48:00 I?ve started a series about capturing attention in the overcrowded internet. I?m basing the series on the book Made To Stick: Why Some Ideas Thrive and Others Die written by Chip and Dan Heath. This book has 6 great principles that will help your site stick in people?s minds. Today we?ll talk about the 5th principle, Emotion . Have you ever noticed how illogical we are especially when we spend money? We buy products out of impulse because of the way the products make us feel. We buy stuff we don’t need with our credit cards. Ever heard of buyer’s remorse? When was the last time you made a pros and cons list before buying a product? When shopping, we use emotion more than logic. Examples in Different Niches Online businesspeople in the make money online niche are notorious for using emotion to capture attention and increase sales.
