I’ve put together a simple list of advertising and affiliate networks that I use to make money online. If you haven’t tried some of the programs listed there, give it a shot. I haven’t put together a list of all the networks that I use, but just those which earn me a significant share of my online income. This is a short and select list of networks that pay well. So, how much do I earn each month? Its a 4-digit figure right now…which is not at all bad for spending one hour on an average each day. Now join the bandwagon, and let’s make money online. I have been wanting to try out the RSS advertising support from Bidvertiser for the last few days. What has finally pushed me to get it done is an email I received an email today from Shahar Jacobi of Bidvertiser. Do note that the service is currently in Beta. The sign-up process is a little more complicated compared to others. You need to publish a post on your blog with a particular code that they provide. Well, my code for getting Online Presence approved is BDV-83655-BDV. The ads served will be CPC. You can shortly see these ads being served on the Online Presence RSS feeds. If you are not already serving RSS ads, this can be a new avenue for you to start making money online. I’ve been using Entrecard for the last few weeks on this blog, more as an experiment to see if it brings in more visibility for the blog. So, has it worked? Let the following graphs speak for itself: Number of cards dropped on my blog Number of people visiting this blog by clicking on my entrecard ads on other blog Number of organic clicks (clicks leading to this blog due to my entry on the Entrecard website) None of these are large numbers, but its additional traffic nonetheless. But is this traffic really worth it? Or are these people who are just dropping into the website to drop a card on my entrecard to get their 1 free credit? I will be doing that analysis in the coming days to see if this additional traffic is worth the real estate space occupied by the entrecard widget. Goals for 2008

Online Presence started off as a project for me to share how to make money online. It was my first blogging initiative, but I’ve been online for years making money online from non-blogging activities. In the 10 months that the blog has been around, it has made me a fair share of money on its own. I had started off hoping to get the blog into the Top 40K blogs by the end of the year. Why such a large number? Given the limited amount of time (less than 15-30 minutes everyday) that I spend on this blog, this would have been a good aim to have. What did I manage to achieve? I got to 49K. Not bad at all. Also, the blog is just shy of being in the Top 100K websites as per Alexa. So what do I aim for in 2008 ? Here goes… Get into the Top 10K blogs as per Technorati Get into the Top 50K websites as per Alexa Increase the daily unique visitors to this site to increase by at least 10x Make at least 5x more money from this blog alone! WordPress 2.3.2 released?

WordPress released Version 2.3.2 recently which is marked as an Urgent Upgrade to 2.3.x. From their blog, WordPress 2.3.2 is an urgent security release that fixes a bug that can be used to expose your draft posts. 2.3.2 also suppresses some error messages that can give away information about your database table structure and limits and stops some information leaks in the XML-RPC and APP implementations. As a little bonus, 2.3.2 allows you to define a custom DB error page. Place your custom template at wp-content/db-error.php. If WP has a problem connecting to your database, this page will displayed rather than the default error message. Have you had a look at PeelAwayAds? In my opinion this is a neat advertising option for publishers which is non-obtrusive. The ads stay tucked away in a corner till the user hovers the mouse over it. Have a look at it in action at the top right corner of Online Presence. Only if someone can put an advertising service around it, it will be that much simpler to use for bloggers. But, if any of you are really interested in advertising on Online Presence using the PeelAwayAds system, do drop in a comment, and I’ll get in touch with you. Blogoria is a Blogger Search resource connecting Bloggers with other Bloggers, Readers and Advertisers. Once you create an account for yourself, you can share your blog details with other bloggers or participate in their Discussion Forums which is powered by vBulletin. Since the website is new, the forums are yet to take off full steam. This is normal and as time goes by, the forums should get more and more active. Have a look at two of the new widgets below: The new 300×250 and 660×330 widgets have integrated search options. The announcement also discloses the popular widgets and categories.
