AGLOCO is dead!

I received an email this morning from the AGLOCO team. Quoting their email: We would like to update you on the status of AGLOCO’s operations. We continue to believe in the AGLOCO concept, but our revenue is currently not sufficient to give Members a meaningful distribution. And though there are increases in membership, the resulting revenue is not enough to support operating costs. As a development team we are unable to continue to use our savings to fund the operations. If any Member would like to pursue continuing the operations of AGLOCO, you may contact us at agloco1@live.com . For those expecting to make a lot of money from Agloco, this might be disappointing news. There were many reports when they launched their service that their business model was flawed. WidgetBucks goes international

WidgetBucks has launched support for international users. In an email received from them today: We are now serving CPM ads to the non-U.S./Canada traffic. This will give you revenue, per impression, for your site visitors who come from other countries. This is designed to help publishers who have a blend of traffic from a variety of countries. Our system will do the geo-location for you, determining where the visitor is coming from. Then we’ll either show the regular pay-per-click widget (to visitors from the U.S. and Canada) or show an ad that pays per impression (to visitors from other countries). You will need to update the WidgetBucks code by getting it again from their website in order to enable this feature. Unfortunately, they have not yet mentioned the CPM rates. I’ve been working on the design and development of DesignYourBlog for the last few weeks during my free time and during this period, I came across another idea. eVisibility is an Internet Marketing Company with over 10 years of experience in Search Engine Optimization, Pay Per Click Management, Online Media Buying, and Website Usability. eVisibility is a certified Google Adwords Company and Yahoo Ambassador. As a Search Engine Optimization Company, they claim to have had an 88% success rate. This is quite good in my opinion as it would be quite difficult to digest if someone claimed a 100% success rate. The eVisibility website is well designed and easy to navigate. I personally liked their Flash based billboard-style menu. It was quite innovative. The list of services that they offer includes SEO, SEM, Media Planning, and Marketing Consulting. You can also get case studies for their services rendered to McDonalds and a Mortgage Company for free from their website. WidgetBucks goes global

There has been an interesting announcement from WidgetBucks today. All non US/Canada traffic will now be paid on a CPM basis. The WidgetBucks system will do the geo-targeting and appropriately serve out ads. The pricing details have not yet been disclosed. Only audited payments will be shown under “My Widgets”. The reports will be generated on a daily basis and will only be the audited results (Currently shown in black. All the ones you see in red will not be shown). These changes are going to be effective early December. I like the fact that they are thinking about their international customers now. Once more details are disclosed we will know if their CPM model will really fly or not. Blogit: More Traffic = More Money

Today I came across a website called Blogit which brings an interesting concept into how to make money online using blogging. You need to ’subscribe’ to Blogit, which costs $12.95 per month for the basic plan. You can then create a blog for yourself. Every time someone reads an article present in your blog, you get paid for it. This is a very good model for newbie bloggers since there are no additional costs associated with hosting and blog software deployment. There is a Word Press plugin available that can make it easy to integrate Kontera into your blog. Its quite simple to use. Pay per click advertising is a model used on search engines, advertising networks, and content websites/blogs, where advertisers only pay when a user actually clicks on an ad to visit the advertiser’s website. Advertisers bid on keywords they believe their target market would type in the search bar when they are looking for a product or service. When a user types a keyword query matching the advertiser’s keyword list, or views a page with relevant content, the advertiser’s ad may be shown. These ads are called a “Sponsored link” or “sponsored ads” and appear next to, and sometimes, above the natural or organic results on search engine results pages, or anywhere a webmaster/blogger chooses on a content page.
