Affiliate Summit is 54 Days Away
2008-01-07 16:57:00
Affiliate Summit West 2008 is coming soon, there is 54 days before I will be traveling to Las Vegas to gamble and go on the strip. What I mean was that I will be there covering the conference and will be posting it via my blog. So what am I doing to prepare and get ready for Affiliate Summit ? Well I have been reading a lot of information from the Affiliate Summit Blog and other blogs as well. I also received an update to the Blog ‘War’ Room from Mark, giving a basic FAQs about the Blog Room. I will be joining Mark in the Blog Room and others as well, we bloggers will be covering the conference in a small 100 * 100 cubicle room. <- sarcasm. I also created a custom logo to try attract readers and affiliates to come join me at Affiliate Summit. If you haven’t seen it here it is below. I wonder if these Vegas girls will be at the Rio Hotel. I have already booked my flight and stay very early, once I received the confirmation of my press pass. I will be there also a...

Contest: Giving 3 FREE Copies of OIOPublisher
2008-01-06 03:10:00
Every blog wants to start earning money. Some blogs use Adsense, promote affiliates, build lists, etc. Others concentrate on gathering enough traffic to start selling ad space on their blog. There are networks that can do this for you with ease such as ReviewMe and Text Link Ads. The only problem is they take some of your money, now that sucks! Simon of OIOPublisher created a universal plugin that does a lot of multiple things besides selling ad space. You can sell electronics goods securely and provide stats to your advertisers! You do not see this with Text Link Ads or other ad space selling networks. The best part of OIOPublisher which happened recently is your advertisers can receive stats of each impression and each click their banner or link received. Does any network does this, emailing the stats directly to the advertiser assuring they are paying for what they are receiving? This new plugin is a great project and it is being updated all the time. Simon has allowed me to giv...

Create Google Analytics Goals for FeedBurner
2008-01-04 16:13:00
So the new year for me will be all about stats and trying to improve, lately I have just been going with the flow. IF I see money come in from one of my affiliate networks or my paypal account, I clap my hands and do the money dance. So this year I want to see everything at bird eye view and check out my stats with all the income sources coming in. One thing that I have been doing and playing around was tracking my RSS feeds and see what part of my website they are clicking from. This is good because I want to see what the best way to convert readers. So many blogs say to have a HUGE RSS button, or have the RSS link near the top, or even after the post. What really does convert? Which part of my blog do readers click more? Where to they find it easier to subscribe to my feed? There are 2 good ways to do this and I found one better than the other. There is a simple redirect and a java on click which you can do to help track you rss feed clicks via Google Analytics . I will show you a...

The Classroom Came to my Door Step
2008-01-04 01:08:00
So I ordered The Secret Classroom DVD set, it took about 2 weeks and some days to get to my house. So anyways I got this because this would be far cheaper than going to each one of these guys seminar. Also I understand that this is going to be a huge information overload which is why I will be watching 2 DVDs a week. This is so I can catch up and make sure I have everything I need and I can gain from the DVD and each known marketer. So what I will do is maybe create a video review per DVD or write the review? I am eager to put this is and watch the DVD, but it is kind of late and I am tired so I will start maybe this weekend. The basic contents of the box were 2 packages of 12 DVDs and a workbook, which looks like it was photocopied from something else - it looked cheap. The workbook was really poorly done, small short descriptions, it is not even a workbook more like a scrap book. But here are some pictures for you to drool over. You probably heard of the Google Slap Reign...

Ian Fernando Writes in 11 Languages
2008-01-02 17:19:00
So I recently installed a translate plugin to this blog. All you have to do is click on the translate link above and a drop down will appear showing you the available countries this blog can currently be translated into. This was a to do list prior to the New Year and I finally got it. It makes sense since I do have readers overseas. The reason I have done this is because my traffic does not just come from the United States, it comes from all over the world. I have posted this prior and I have finally came to the time to find a good plugin to work with my blog. The plugin I am currently using is the Global Translator Plugin by Davide Pozza. It uses the Google Translation Services or Babel Fish, your choice. There are several features that stuck out which made this plugin my choice over others. Over at Lorelle’s blog she has several other recommendations as well. Search Engine Optimized: it uses the permalinks by adding the language code at the beginning of all your URI. For ...

Affiliate Networks Can?t Give Me Reports
2008-01-02 00:15:00
It is the first of 2008 and already I am running into problems with one of my goals. One of my goals or resolution is to print out or gather reports about top affiliate campaigns to promote. This way I can view them all at once and have a nice bird’s eye view of them. Usually I just look at the reports on my screen and decided right there and then if I want to promote it or not. I found it to be cumbersome and found relative campaigns on other networks with different stats also this may cause cross promotion as well. So I want to go ahead and print out the first couple pages of a report that would sort by EPC, Networks Earnings, Per Lead, or Percentage of Sale. If I can sort by these then I can print out and decide what I want to promote this month. Well I ran into problems, only 2 of the 6 networks I am part of only provide good ways to sort and organize the advertiser’s list into a way I can print and look over. NeverBlueAds and CJ.com are the only 2 that does this wit...

Keyword Conversion: Figure Out Which Works
2008-01-01 16:40:00
So my excel video did pretty good that I got emails to help with excel and keyword manipulation. I think I should get a job with the infomercial guy “The Video Professor!” So there were some emails on creating excel formulas on keywords and how to track and how to see conversion and all that stuff. Well Google Adwords gives you all that information, impressions, clicks, CTR, etc. But I decided there were a lot of noobs out there that want to learn how PPC keywords work. There were emails where someone asked about how to determine CTR and CPC, I simply redirected them to the Google Adwords section or Wikipedia. What is the point of asking when you do not know the basics? I learned by reading and understanding how these functions worked, thus creating excel tools for my benefits. Well since there are newbies out there that want to learn I decided to go ahead and create a simple Google Docs file for everyone to view and learn from. Everyone needs examples and actual tools t...

I Was at the Gym and EveryOne was There!
2007-12-31 20:04:00
Is 2008 the real time when users will be losing weight? I was at the gym this morning and found it was crowded for such an early morning start. I usually go in the morning where there is very few or little people, so I can use the machines and free weights. But this morning was different everyone was there! Is 2008 the year to lose weight? Are more people thinking of losing weight? Or will this be a 30 day resolution and then they quit? I personally do not know and I didn’t like the fact my 1 hour workout was just about working my back and my core. I was planning on doing back, shoulders, and biceps but since there were so many people this morning I just went harder on back and my core section. I have been reading Israel’s Blog at Fat Man Unleashed and he has some good concept I can use for my body type. I like the fact he is determined and that is great, I just want to gain more size and weight that is my goal for New Year. But looking at all these people I wonder if th...
ShoeMoney Talks: Adsense vs Affiliate Marketing
2007-12-29 20:53:00
Jeremy from Shoemoney.com was featured at BlogWorld Expo and has opinions on how Adsense sucks and speaks about affiliate marketing. If you are talking about a product might as well check to see if they have an affiliate program to join. The reason for this is because if you are talking about a product why not use their affiliate program or special links. Now I have received some ‘hate mail’ or even negative comments on why am I using an affiliate link if I am talking bad or writing a negative post on a product or service. Well, the reason for this is because what I just stated above. If I am writing about it why not use their affiliate link to earn some potential income. There are mixed feelings on this and opinions on this matter, but if I talk about it and there is room for income I will use the affiliate link. I personally never know if the post will be a big hit and earn me some money or it might be a flop, I just do not know. So to just prepare the 50 percent chanc...

Weekend Rambles: eBay, Forbes.com, and Avatars
2007-12-29 19:45:00
So lately I have done a lot of things that should help me better prepare into the New Year. But first thing first I have gotten back into eBay - well just to clean up my last year stuff. I did ebay during the holidays with my old vendors when I started on the internet and I just decided to clean up my 2007 gear. So I posted some things up for sale, like my racing collections jacket by JH Designs. I bought these jackets for about $100-$125 a piece, before released to the market. Expensive Jacket Turned not So Expensive These jackets were meant for the fall/spring season and were very comfortable. They were the styles for about 2 years and I had most of the rare or pre released jackets before sold on the market. Well after 3 years, the fashion for sports jacket is losing their touch and I find no more use for them. On occasion I would wear them and I even have one with still tags on. This is just how I am, I like fashion and I like shoes and clothes. I buy what I want, especially if i...

Interview: A TakeOver From Charles Trippy
2007-12-28 17:43:00
So the other day I interviewed Jaime Luchuck and now I had the opportunity to interview Charles Trippy ! Charles Trippy was the second runner up from the reality show ‘Next Internet Millionaire‘ and I was really hoping for him to win, since I think it is about time that multimedia product should do better than an ebook or book - well I was wrong. Interview ing Charles Trippy proved to be very different from all of the rest. He has his own attitude and he doesn’t hide himself on the internet, Charles is Charles! Charles is also the creator of his new internet related product, Viral Video Fever. Viral Video Fever is a web 2.0 video creation and editing tutorial. It helps noobers establish themselves on the internet by creating viral videos throughout the internet, getting it published on digg, getting it stumbled, getting it noticed! Well let me start the interview! Charles, first I would like to know how you got into the video and editing video. Do you consider it as ...

Build a Niche Store Sells Itself, Literally
2007-12-27 19:25:00
This month I didn’t concentrate on promoting digital products because this month is all about physical products. But what surprised me was a check in the mail for something I was not promoting this month at all. The check was from ClickBank and I was thinking hmm, I know I was not promoting anything this month from ClickBank, I didn’t even check my status on ClickBank this month. I know I didn’t promote anything via Adwords or other PPC campaigns. So I logged on to my ClickBank account and I was surprise that I have been selling BANS all along, ever since I launched BadCircuit.com. The affiliate link was listed at the bottom of the page, the footer. It was not a lot but hey it is a paycheck for no work I was doing at all. Take a look at the snapshot of my stats below, you can click to enlarge. As you can see the publisher were all NICHESTORE, which is the publisher ID for the Build a Niche Store via ClickBank! That is amazing that I was able to sell something I di...

Don?t You Wish Every Month was December?
2007-12-24 17:37:00
So tomorrow is the big holiday and I want o wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday. With December sales coming to an end and income may come to a slow response in the next couple days, I was wondering and hoping that next month would be December again. During the month of December a lot of my affiliate sales went up as well as some ebay sales. This is one of my biggest income months and I really had fun with it during this time of year. Now the big question how will I be able to duplicate it next month? January, hmm what is popular in January that users and buyers want to buy? Should I do an early February promotion for Valentines Day? Several things just hit me and I was looking at NeverBlue Ads campaigns and found some good ones, then I went ahead and did more comparison to LinkShare, CJ, and even ShareASale. Most are very similar - now how much will I spend this month? What will be my main strategy? How will I split test? Just so many questions. December is a month whe...

Affiliate Marketing: Percentage vs Per Lead
2007-12-21 21:12:00
So yesterday was the last day for one of my best affiliate promotion from NeverBlueAds, PersonalizationMall.com which paid 9.75 per lead. I was kind of sad to let it go and see it go, it is now obvious the month of December is coming to a close end. I just wish every month was December, but some of my other non Christmas campaigns are doing well. Since yesterday was the last day of promotion for the specific campaign I mentioned, I kind of prep my self for this day and want to show you a new affiliate network that I recently started with. I recently started playing around with LinkShare and guess what they have PersonalizationMall.com within their network. There is a difference NeverBlueAds pays per lead while LinkShare pays on a percentage basis. This kinda of brought my spirit down just a little because I think I make more money on a per lead basis, which is why I think NeverBlueAds is so popular. LinkShare and ClickBank work on a percentage basis, but ClickBank percentage commiss...

Kitchen Nightmare?s Showed Me Business
2007-12-20 18:40:00
If you have not watched Gordon Ramsey’s new series “Kitchen Nightmare ” you should, especially if you are an entrepreneur. This new series is all about running a business and not cleaning up your kitchen or cooking good food - well part of it does but the concept is great. The show concentrates on running a business and how to get your audience. I learned a lot from the 10 episodes then creating a business and how to properly promote. The emphasis on running a business and not running a kitchen is what kind of caught my attention. I picked up the main concept of the show by just listening Ramsey saying repeatedly “treat it like a business.” This applies to anything even blogging and internet marketing. Ramsey does not talk to the cooks about how they cook but takes a look at the managerial and location of the restaurant. Ramsey even profiles the town or city the restaurant is located in. This shows a lot of entrepreneurial skills. Ramsey checks the compe...

Getting Freaking Organized: Part 2
2007-12-19 22:22:00
I updated my desk area today and I kinda feel better than my workplace is now better fit for my online business. To my confusion I have found so much junk it I filled 2 trash bags worth of shredded old documents. That is a lot of shredding. I also got rid of the physical mess such as blank CDRs, headphones, pennies and quarters, and other things that do not belong or should belong at my home office. This has taken me just a couple hours of my time to just clean things a little bit. I didn’t mind taking a day off from my regular marketing; I mean I can check my stats and or goals later on tonight after I cook and all that good stuff. But I wanted to give you an update of what was before and what is now! Can you see the difference? Before: After: I think this will be better suited for me and my workspace. I will be able to concentrate more instead of what papers are important and what belongs where. I found a place for almost every thing. I basically gave each item a home to...

Interview: Jaime Luchuck is ?The Next Internet Millionaire?
2007-12-19 16:32:00
A while ago, well right after the announcement of the Next Internet Millionaire winner - I went ahead and emailed Jaimie Luchuck if I was able to get an interview with her. I now have her responses and I would like to share them with you. Jaime is has a great personality - which you will be able to tell from just reading the interview. She also speaks as a regular person and not those ‘gurus’ with all those big words and acronyms. She came out with a product called ‘From Cubicle Slave to the Next Internet Millionaire.’ It is a book which is now being sold on Amazon.com. The book speaks of her personal experiences while being in a classroom and listening to the gurus of internet marketing. Well let me give you the interview with the Next Internet Millionaire Jaime Luchuck. Jaime, before the ?Next Internet Millionaire? can you explain what you were doing before. It is Time to Get Freaking Organized!
2007-12-18 16:07:00
So this month by far has been my best income month in the past couple months of blogging and internet marketing. I have met a lot of new people and learned from a lot of them as well. My workspace is comfortable to my own comfort and how I think I should be able to work. I also tend to depend on reporting from the affiliate networks or PPC networks I am part of. Well with all these new clashes of campaigns I wanted to centralize everything to my own works. Before the New Year or into the New Years I will be creating my own excel money manager. But first…. I need to get organized - from my workspace to my money making sources. If you have not seen my workspace comparison to Probloggers then don’t =P. I will be better organizing my workspace or office to better suit the needs of my busy schedule and being organized shows that I am being serious about my workspace and making money online. Right now here is my work space. Click on image to be taken to the photo album. As y...

Use Excel to Help you with Keywords
2007-12-17 15:47:00
Everyday I learn something new - I read Entrepreneur dot com on a daily basis and I found this article with good information. The article is about making these top 11 mistakes, which is written by Jon Rognerud. The article goes into detail about the mistakes beginners may make when dealing with Google Adwords. One of the tactics Jon speaks of is using all less keywords. This is true some new users to PPC marketing use way too many keywords, every keyword under the sun and its multitude of variations. This is a bad habit and can actually lose you money. If your keyword is fishing, do not add all of the fishing words and variation, target your keyword (keyword limitation). You want to limit your keyword to your product as much as possible. Example: Fishing, what are you selling? What are you promoting? Is it bait? Is it a learning course? Specific type of fish? Target your keywords so you pay for that more targeted keyword and not the general keyword which probably has more competiti...

Weekend Rambling: Hi Haters!
2007-12-15 22:32:00
Ok first and foremost - Hi Haters ! If you are a loyal reader then this does not pertain to you - but to the new readers that came to yesterday’s post and criticized my strategies. It was criticized so much I had to remove the post. I had some comments on the positive end and most and all were all mad because of my tactical way of making money online. Yesterday’s post was a little of Black Hat Marketing - which is frowned upon on the internet. Search Engines, users, readers do not like the way Black Hatters make their money. Though my strategy I think was not fully Black Hat - it was still criticized and had to be removed. I think this is the reason why there are little black hat blogs out there - they are criticized on too much. Yesterday’s post was about increasing the profitability with a users’ Build a Niche Store. It gives a better chance of earning some income, isn’t that suppose to be good. I wanted to share a strategy that I was doing to help me ...

EntreCard Definitely EntreSucks: Check Please!
2007-12-13 15:24:00
So it has been a little over a week and my conclusion about EntreCard still stands, it is a great concept with poor implementations. I did receive a good amount of traffic from it but it was trash traffic. When I say it is garbage I really mean it. The traffic that comes from EntreCard does not convert at all and serves me no reason to leave EntreCard on my beautiful blog. EntreCard can be far better than blugrush if done correctly with bloggers and webmasters in mind. Also, EntreCard users do not understand traffic stats. They see their graph and they see amount of visitors visited from EntreCard. Do they look at other aspects like bounce, time on site, and even page views? A graph with a jump in traffic does not mean anything if the traffic is not converting in anyway or shows interest in your website. For example, my stats shows EntreCard has provide me substantial traffic - YES, NO! If I look at my other stats such as what I have mentioned above, I will see that this traffic doe...

Who Said Soda Was a Bad Thing? New Cheat Sheet!
2007-12-13 06:16:00
I just want to go ahead and post this video I stumbled on via StumbleUpon. It is amazing what you find via SU. I also wish that I thought of this concept when I was in college, maybe I would have a degree in something and not be a dropout working a nice high paying 9-5 job and with my Internet Marketing skills. Hmm I wonder if I should have gotten my Associates or something or maybe even a Masters. The concept is simple adobe editing your cola bottle label with the answers or tricks to help you pass. You simply remove, type, adobe, reprint and relabel. But anyways - here is the video - great video and very clever concept. Again I wish I thought of this and be the brainiac in my classroom. Blogging Can Almost Get you a Free Movie Pass
2007-12-12 17:02:00
I was stumbling and it is funny what you can find when you stumble on pages. When I stumble I usually keep stumbling until I find something entertaining or informational to read. When I see a comic I tend to stop and read what it is about, when I read the first bubble of the comic I went a head and stayed on the page to read more about it. In contrast the comic is very funny and I hope we as bloggers do exist because we give the media opinionated answers which is important to so many and almost everyone out there. This comic was stumbled from MultiPlex Comic. Also, notice since he didn’t get his free pass the blogger will write about his insolence. Its what we bloggers do - LOL. Great Comic. GeoTargeting - Take a Second Look at Your Traffic
2007-12-12 01:18:00
Mark from 45n5.com has posted a great post and video on Geo Targeting and how most bloggers or writers do not talk about them. Now and currently Mark is creating a great program called NoFollowAds.com which will incorporate Geo Marketing. I am really excited to see this program come out and I want to see how it will work out with banners ads etc. With internet marketing and so many make money online websites, Mark puts out a good point. No One is talking about GeoTargeted Marketing. Is it because most of the traffic are from the United States and only a small percentage come from over seas? Hmm this got me thinking, I rarely look at my geographical location stats since I see the United States in Heavy Green and every where else is light green, meaning there is some traffic but not major. Well I took a look at my geo map and I was surprise at my traffic sources. My Traffic Geo Marketing DashBoard via Google Analytics (click to enlarge): Those numbers look very interesting to me beca...
I Actually Learned Something in a Meeting: The 4 P?s
2007-12-11 17:37:00
So I got out of a meeting, yes I still work …sighs… But the meeting proved to be a very good meeting because out of the ordinary meetings I was actually interested and some what participated. The meeting speaks of marketing, yes! So I paid close attention to what our VP had to say about marketing and trying to get a broader target market. I was intrigue because it seems everyday marketing is a repetitive task. A task that requires daily studies and research to find out what works and what does not. So after the meeting I found some sites that went about describing what I learned within the meeting. First the meeting spoke about the 4 P’s of marketing. They are Product, Price, Placement or Place, and Promotion. It all makes sense since you do need a product or service with a competitive price in which you need to promote in a specific place or area. This also works for online marketing, though the meeting was more on the off line marketing genre I thought of how it ...

5 Seconds of Annoyance: PayPerPlay?
2007-12-09 17:29:00
So I was reading this article on IMNewsWatch.com about this new so called innovation. It is another form of advertising which is similar to PPC (pay per click) but this new system plays a 5 second audio-mercial. It is funny because I also received a couple emails about this new system asking to join and test out the system - with referral links ofcourse. Ok so about this PayPerPlay thing - I was reading the landing page and found it to be a pretty bad idea. This PPP idea is made by NetAudioAds. It plays a small snippet of audio-mercial once a page loads for about 5 seconds. Do they give the option of pressing play to hear the audio, right now I think it does it on autoplay and I know that will be very annoying really fast. NetAudioAds? Pay-Per-Play (PPP) advertising is an advertising channel that is set to take the web by storm. Because of the size and scope of this deal (backed by one of the BIG 5 search engines), PPP advertising will become a world wide business media event. PPP w...

I just finished my photos section on my Blog. There are only 2 albums but I will be adding more to it, especially when I go to Affiliate Summit West and other seminars. Also, this photo gallery is made possible by a WordPress plug in, which I am currently customizing. The plugin is made possible by Tan Tan Noodles - I think this is the best flickr photo album plugin, there are a lot and I tested a lot. I fnally came to a good decision and chose Tan Tan’s version. Influential Traffic is the Best Source of Traffic
2007-12-06 17:00:00
Traffic is a major importance for a website or a blog, you need traffic to get exposure. The more traffic you get the better right? Not necessarily - it depends on what kind of traffic you are trying to acquire. Traffic vs Targeted Traffic are 2 similar but different types of traffic. More traffic does not mean more money. John Chow explains this very well. But where can you get traffic, what are the best forms of traffic. There are traffic exchanges, link exchanges, social networks, etc. I believe traffic from the top marketers are better than any type of SEO, Paid, Exchange, etc traffic. The reason is because they are considered influencer. They influence their readers, readers look up to the big guys for help and advice. When a new product comes out or service and a top blogger or website author writes about it, there is a chain reaction that happens. One HUGE blogger talks about it followed by another and another and another - then filters out to the other writers. This is very ...

EntreCard Introduces EntreSpam
2007-12-05 22:03:00
Last night I decided to go a head and join Entrecard. It is business card web 2.0 but in a poorly designed way. I was very curious as to what it can do for me and how it can benefit me. I see ProBlogger, John Chow, John Cow, etc using it. So I was thinking to myself “the Big GUYS are using it, maybe I should join.” I am real hesitant to joining new groups when I do not read or find a single piece of negative post on a service. I even am more hesitant if I have to install a damn widget on my blog. But in any case I decided to join and test it out. Well within an hour I already got pissed and found flaws with this system in which I do not know why others have not seen or found. I even was kind of piss they do not take animated buttons, and I never new a business card was a 125 * 125 button, not unique at all.
