The Secret is Out: Secret ClassRoom
2007-12-05 17:07:00
If you have not already heard or have watched my video reviews about the Next Internet Millionaire, Joel Comm has come out with a sequel to his reality TV in a form of a product. I would imagine he would be doing this since these are marketers in their prime, teaching a selected few about Internet marketing and how to accomplish their goals to success. I was anticipating this product and now it is out and the price tag is at an ok price to purchase I was thinking of buying the DVD set. The DVD consists of 12 2 hour sessions, one with each marketer as if you were in the classroom. There are also videos of Joel teaching his Adsense secrets and so much more. I did learn a lot from the small snippets of information on the reality show and some I didn’t even learn anything. If you have not been watching my video reviews of the Next Internet Millionaire, you can view them all here: Next Internet Millionaire Reviews http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=- 106734760452420796 I kn...

Interview: Alvin is Blogging Atomically
2007-12-05 15:21:00
Blogging these days have become almost a sport. There are multiple participants in the field of blogging, trying to blog for money than as a hobby. I blog for money and as a hobby. This blog alone is keeping track of my success and failures, yet I share with my readers what I am doing. I was able to grab Alvin from his busy schedule to help talk about his recent product called Atomic Bloggin. I have been reading all about Atomic Blogging from multiple blogs and I wanted to go ahead and see if I can get the author to spill some beans about it. This interview is shorter than my other interviews but Alvin is a straight to the point guy, which even fits his Atomic Blogging ebook, straight to the point. Alvin, can you please introduce yourself to my readers and how you got started on the internet/blogging? My name is Alvin Phang from Singapore, I started blogging since Oct 2006 on my blog at www.GatherSuccess.com which started off as a hobby site talking basically about how to generate ...

Specialize a Map for Perfection: Think!
2007-11-29 15:34:00
I do a lot of blog reading and I came a cross an old article by Steve Pavlina about creating an execution or being organize. Being organized in what you do is a good tactic to apply when wanting to accomplish a goal. For example I want to be free from this BS 9 - 5 job. So I read and study internet marketing, releasing multiple products and sites to accomplish that goal. When I first started - I read all these things and I just did them all at once. Boy was that a mistake. I figured if I did everything I would be the best at making money online. I was reading people only ’specialize’ in one item or criteria; I wanted to do it all. I soon realize that does not work and I began to read more. From reading and learning all these attributes I then realize you can not just do everything you would need to specialize in a field to become better at it and make it perfect. With perfection comes organization skills and discipline. I then started to just focus on eBay, it is the fa...

You Shut Your Face, Facebook!
2007-11-27 15:40:00
So Face Book told me I don’t belong in the United States, sarcasm. This past weekend I have tried Facebook Social Flyers one more time. I wrote about FaceBook Flyer Pro prior and explained how Facebook took my ad down because of the image I was using. Well this time I figured a lot of students would be home and be spending time with their families so I decided to go ahead and give it one more try. I went ahead and post about my new website, BadCircuit.com. I used the right grammar and a simple picture, a PC. So this time I was approved and I had it running for 4 days. I think the stats were delayed by 2 days, because I did not see any stats for approximately 2 days. Once the stats came up I was piss! These are the most pathetic stats I have ever done for a CPC campaign. I had close to 20k impressions and I only managed to get 2 clicks, WTF is that about! I do so much better with Adwords and they convert! Also, I don’t seem to qualify with their Advertising Terms of Servi...

Webinar: Russell Brunson?s DotComSecrets
2007-11-27 02:01:00
Just finished listening to Russell Brunsons DotComSecrets Webinar , this was a very informative webinar. The only sad part is Russell had festive Thanksgiving and lost his voice during his seminar. I made out most of it and he was hearable throughout and respectful. This webinar had a lot of great features, Russell spoke about how to be an Entrepreneur and how there are only 3 steps to achieve that title. But before I go into the 3 small steps I want to add a little more background about the webinar. Again there was a lot of great and useful information, so much information I took notes! He mentioned sites I have never even heard of and that do great work. I wanted to snap shot every single one of his PowerPoint slides, but I didn?t know if he would allow them. So I just wrote the sites down and I will read them through later tonight or tomorrow morning. But Russell did a great job showing the other tools and resources out there that can be very beneficial to a business or an entrep...
Some Marketing Holiday Tips
2007-11-26 15:14:00
This year’s Holiday means good earnings for online marketers. This holiday season can either make or break you. You have to see what is selling and do some research. Yes workers surf the internet while at work, its a fact of life. But were you prepared to get the high traffics and conversions for this holiday season? Below are some good holiday marketing tactics that are useful. Also, this year I was a little late on my research and projects I wanted to get accomplished, but hey I rushed and spent almost a whole day just to get my site up and running - even some Adwords going. Here are my points when marketing or attacking the holidays and shoppers. Research last years popular items Holiday...

Black Friday? Happy Friday that is Black
2007-11-23 20:01:00
Well I woke up this morning and saw 3 cars in my parking lot. I was like where did everyone go. I thought to myself “they are either at work or shopping.” Shopping on Black Friday why go through the hassle of waiting in line forever and to get trampled or pushed or knocked out etc. Black Friday is a day of deals and sales, so moms and dads go out camp outside and wait till a door opens. They then charge in side run to their aisle, like they have it all mapped out in their heads, and just stare a price. “Is this a deal?” I wonder why we have the internet, Oh Yea so we don’t have to act like cavemen when going shopping. Make the ease of shopping simple by going online. Amazon has a great way on creating a new buzz and having buyers come back every hour, consistent traffic. Well enough talk I found some videos on YouTube about the Friday that is Black! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZJVZ2p223 o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_EHv_1tbv o You know th...

Next Internet Millionaire: The Final Winner
2007-11-22 04:50:00
WOW! The Next Internet Millionaire winner has been announced. Do not watch my video unless you want the show to be ruined. Well 2 great things happened a very special moment happened with Charles in a hot air balloon and the winner of the Next Internet Millionaire. After 7 days of marketing they all returned back to meet Joel in the Judgment Room for Joel’s final decision and stats on both products. The weird part about this episode there was a musical introduction by Jaimie. I remember when Jaimie was real shy and now she is really open to ideas and participation, great improvement! This episode was more of a recap of all the other episodes and Joel points out his favorite parts of the episode to the final 2 contestants. From watching this episode you can really see how both marketers grew in personality and mentally. Also, I was not even going to make this video. I was thinking if I should just leave you guys in awe. Since this was the last episode I decided why stop my vi...

Rambles: My Back is Still Itchy
2007-11-21 14:40:00
So I will be removing the ScratchBack widget soon and I have contacted all readers who have given me a ScratchBack, thanks! I offered them a discounted spot in my blog real estate section. Well after some play around with it and testing its ‘fun’ factor, I have decided to go ahead and removed the ScratchBack widget at the end of this week. ScratchBack really did not give me too much. I mean I filled up all my spots with little marketing. Another reason why I will be removing this is because the middle man cut is too high. I left a comment about it and I know others have as well. Right now since it is still in beta and the Scratchback team has listened to their readers, they will be providing 90% commission! I wish that happened before I sold all my spots, prior to this it was 60%. Scratchback is a really good widget to have on your blog especially if you want to make some quick money and want to try your game with blog real estate. With that said I am better off using O...

The Final Released of my POS Store, I mean my BANS
2007-11-20 18:27:00
Finally I have released my BANS store and I think it will do well, since it does not look like those other Build a Niche Store look a like. Again, I like to look different and stand out, I do not want someone to go to my store and be like “Oh, this is one of those BANS website, exit,” I want them to explore.  There are multiple stores out there and some slightly different from another but still the same layout and functions. Mine has the same functions but provides more interaction and information, a better layout I say. With the new re release of BadCircuit.com, issues came up with BadCircuit which you will read about once I start to ramble. Now BadCircuit.com is not a tech blog, but now a virtual storefront. I think this will prove to be a better advantage on my end since I was unable to update this blog every so often, lots of work and projects and very little time. So BadCircuit will be a store front which will be promoted from my marketing skills that I have, I gues...

Build a POS Store: Update
2007-11-19 20:06:00
Build a Niche Store was not very user friendly and their forums suck. It seemed more people have problems than making money with this script. Well I finally have it up and running and it didn’t come out to what I wanted, as it is still in a testing learning phase for me. This script is really user friendly for those that want it up and running in like 10 minutes. But me I always want to be different and I try to change a lot of things with the layout and design. Browsing multiple BANS store, most of the layouts are the same, BLAH! I always want to stick out and do something no one does. So I went a head and studied the BANS default CSS and found it to be fairly straight to the point. I then took the source of the default template and studied that as well, making sure I know where the information is going to be located. After sometime I went and built my alpha store. It was not to my liking but it was just a test to see how powerful it really is and simple. Simple for the exp...

My Niche is Slow this Time of Year
2007-11-19 16:46:00
This week is is that gobble season. Happy early Thanksgiving if I do not say it this Thursday. But this time of year is the time when I chose a niche in the physical field. Black Friday is a great day to get lots of traffics and hits to a physical website (e commerce). There will be lines of people lining up at entrances and users arguing with the person checking them out. This time of year gets very hectic and I think it is a good sign, because it is a time where most e commerce sites should be making a good amount of money. This time of year I usually switch my needs to ebay, I made a good handful on ebay last year and hoping to surpass it this year. I also went ahead and bought Build a Niche Store, this script uses eBays feeds to deliver goods to a website. But before BANs, I was toying around with Mark’s Amazon eBay YouTube Mashable Script. This I think is a really good script, just the fact there is web 2.0 touch to you, the YouTube part. It displays Amazon and eBay list...

Interview: Rob Toth of Buy Now Wizard
2007-11-16 23:48:00
From yesterday’s post about annoying the hell out of your buyers, I was able to catch the attention of Rob Toth and Don Morris. Both left comments on my post about BuyNowWizard . This is my first time hearing and learning about Rob Toth. I was introduced to Rob Toth from an email by Don Morris, new owner of $7 Dollar Script. Last night seminar was intriguing and yet non-beneficial to me because of my experience that I already have with the strategies Rob uses. Rob’s newly released product is an attention grabber, which is very helpful when trying to give your product a second chance or even trying to up sell to the buyer. This script is simply interacting with the potential buyer so you do not have to. Each of his tactics that he introduces does work, I myself use them and they do convert. Earlier today, I had the opportunity to get his attention and ask him a couple questions about last night’s seminar and his newly product. This is my first time hearing about y...

Rob Toth TeleSeminar: Annoy Your Buyers?
2007-11-16 04:10:00
I listened in to Rob Toth teleseminar and I think it was a useless teleseminar because the tactics that he is speaking about and selling are already in use and it is quite old. I have personally done all of his tactics that he has proposed in his new product and I have gotten results from these tactics. Good results may lead to bad things, such as annoyed readers. If you can recall, I had a scroll bar at the top of my blog about my new revolution theme contest, grabbing the attention of many readers to participate. This has helped a lot with my contest and new traffic. I also received some emails about the annoyance of the bar. Luckily I only had it for 1 week, the week of the contest. Once I took it down the emails stopped. Rob Toth, has the right concept and idea. Grab your readers’ attention and try to offer a second chance sale to those that are not interested, maybe even upsell something to the buyer. His new product BuyNowWizard does all this and maybe even annoys the b...

Defensio, Get Rid of My TrackBack Spammers!
2007-11-15 15:40:00
As you know there or have read there is a competitor to Akismet the original Wordpress spam, they have even posted this on their blog. Enter Defensio. I have just recently signed up with Defensio. I was a little hesitant on signing on up because I already have 2 good plugins working in the background. Akismet catches a lot of the spam comments and Bad Behavior which is a set of PHP scripts which prevents spambots from accessing your site by analyzing their actual HTTP requests and comparing them to profiles from known spambots. I thought I had the best of both worlds, both does a great job at catching spam. Lately there has been another form of spam I have been receiving, trackback spam. I have noticed a lot of trackbacks but they all come from the same IP and they only react to specific keywords on my blog. These poor quality made blogs are scrapers or ’sploggers.’ What is Blog Scraping or Sploggers? Blog scraping, is the process where automated software scans hundreds...

Tila Tequila Gave Me a Shot at Traffic
2007-11-14 18:37:00
Last night I was watching the Tila Tequila show on MTV, I do not know why I watch the show maybe because of all the drama and excitement. As you know I have posted a comparison on a post called Tila Tequila has a shot at Offline Marketing. This specific post is very popular on my blog, because it has a ‘celebrity’ in my title? Usually the traffic is little during the week but when a new episode is on, that specific post is always searched by Google. I notice I am on the first page for Google for several keywords. A lot of readers or fans of the show are interested about what just happened on the show and what will be expected on the next episode. Curiosity is what makes these fans search for the gossips. After the show I decided to look at my live traffic on my blog. I am usually curious where users are going and what they are looking at etc. I try not to look at this live traffic too often but it is a Wordpress plugin and the button is right there. You can see most of...

Wordpress Optimization: Speed Things Up a Bit
2007-11-14 15:34:00
After yesterday’s post about me having issues with load speed times at 3.2 seconds; I have done some research for optimizing my Wordpress blog. There are many blogs that have talked about this so I will be quoting some that I think was worth reading and even researching more into. From my experience though to have a good successful website that loads with good time is not have too many codes, by this I mean not too many javascripts, not too many ajax settings, etc. These scripts call a JS file and have to run it. Sometimes these files can be large to make a simple animation or task. The only javascript files should be maybe an analytics system such as Google. But what about affiliate systems and widgets, get rid of them or try to incorporate it with your website but remove or risk another js file? This website has several javascripts for PPC ads, widgets, etc. I will have to look at certain things and see what should stay and what should go. Another good thing to do, especial...

Load Time is Whack: Are Gurus Whacker?
2007-11-13 14:36:00
For some reason I have been noticing some lag time on my blog. Not too sure if database access or Wordpress itself. So what I did to make sure it was not just me I decided to test it on another server. I went to Pingdom.com to see what my stats look like. I did not like what I saw, my website loads at 4.5 seconds. Is that optimal? I did not think it was, I want my blog to load right away. I am a web designer, I wanted it to load right away!! Pingdom showed my website loads at 4.5 seconds, I guess that is fine. But stats say if a user does not find what they want in 20 seconds, they divert away. I did not want to give any user a 5 second delay because of my load time. Well here is my result from Pingdom 4.5 seconds! I rotated the image to get a better view. Load Time may differ, this image is unique to the time of running I decided to look at other new designs and compare their speed with mine. First Darren from Problogger was the first to start this web design upgrade craze. I mea...

Ramblings: Death of YPN and OpenAds, Birth of FeedBlaster
2007-11-13 01:32:00
Ok, so couple changes with the blog backend wise and per post wise. I was testing Yahoo Publisher Network on my blog and I have been using OpenAds to provide reports to my sponsors, a benefit for purchasing space on my blog. Lately there have been issues with loading of the images and tracking. I am not sure if it was my server and SQL but images were not loading properly. Operatically they would appear and wouldn’t. I decided to kill it. YPN or Yahoo Publisher Network has no targeted ads! I get mortgages on adsense topics, let’s be serious, there is no relations to mortgages at all. So I kilt YPN as well! In Yahoo’s place I have replaced it with InLine Ads of RSS Feeds. I had this prior but again I wanted to test out Yahoo Publisher Network on my blog. YPN was a replacement for Adsense on my blog. My Adsense account was making a good heavy amount on my blog about maybe $275 a month; this does not include my other sites. It is hard to get good click through rates...

Do you watch TV? Is television soon to become obsolete? With the rave of Web 2.0 and Videos, there is more attention looking at a PC monitor than your in home television. Joel Comm has created a great use of Web 2.0 and video when he came out with Next Internet Millionaire. This reality show take place on your PC monitor and not on channel 5 or Spyke TV. The internet is becoming more for a source of entertainment and information. Taking what you watch on TV to a pixelated screen. Prija of Blogging the Movie is taking the next big step to internet entertainment, by creating the first Movie Documentary about Bloggers. Low RSS? Just Pay for FAKE RSS Readers
2007-11-11 14:59:00
This morning I was notified by the all popular Cow about a new service which will provide you RSS readers! If your RSS reader subscription is low, just pay for fake readers. RSSXplosion a new service which you pay for RSS readers, hmm does this remind you of BuyBlogComments? Again who would do this and why would someone pay for fake readers? RSS readers are for readers who want to read your website from a non website platform for ease of use or read a small synopsis before going to the actual website. JohnCow.com has done some research on this and found a lot of interesting things about the service. I have went to the homepage and found some interesting things as well, like Mark from 45n5 and John Chow leaving testimonials about this service? I do not think they would find this service ethical because it will not be to their advantage. To the left you can see the so called testimonial, but these quotes are from the authors’ post within their blog. I do not think Mark, John Ch...

What WordPress PlugIns Do I Use: Part 2
2007-11-08 18:45:00
With the new redesign and it being my first month officially wearing this theme. I want to go a head and do a recap of my Wordpress plugins. There are new plugins that have been added since the last list and new upgrades. The only thing I kept the same is I have not upgraded to the new Wordpress 2.3.1. The reason for this is because I am very hesitant that the installation may do something and everything will be gone. Also when I upgraded to 2.2.1, I didn’t not have a good experience and thus I have not upgraded since. So since today is the 1 month mark for steadily using the Revolution News Theme, I have decided to bring everyone up to date on the plugins I use. Let’s Get Started: Copyright Feed - Extends the feed! A report of copyright, a digital fingerprint and the IP of the feed reader can be added. In addition, some search engines are scanned for the digital fingerprint in order to find possible content theft. The feed can be also be supplemented with comments and ...

The Many FaceLifts of Ian Fernando: Recap
2007-11-08 14:47:00
It has been a month since my revolutionary facelift and I have been getting emails about how my other designs looked like. So I decided to take the time to go back in time and capture all the design templates. You will see I went through 3 FaceLifts! Ouch! I must be an ugly dude! But below you will see screen shots of how my website design was and compare it to now, I have upgraded a lot. For the readers that have asked me prior, I have directed you to the templates I was using. Below are the actual designs with some modifications to the template. Also, the first 2 templates, I was using a different CMS system, actually it was an article directory system which is being used on my Article Directory website. When I have finally switched to Wordpress you can see the difference in design. Also you will notice all 3 prior designs are all 3 column templates. I like 3 column templates for many reasons. Its more organized, neat, and short. I can put a lot of information within the 3 column...

Next Internet Millionaire: 2 JV Winners
2007-11-08 01:30:00
Damn it! Both are winners, but not quite. This episode took a spin on things because I was expecting a winner but there is one more episode left! I was very disappointed when I heard both were “Hacker Safe.” But again there is one more episode as both really JVed with Joel to make their product launch today. Jaime has launched Cubicle to Millionaire book and it is on Amazon.com! While Charles has launched “Viral Video Fever” - make me want to do that head shaky thing, while guitars are rumbling in the background. I actually viewed both sales letter, and Charles definitely caught my attention to his product and makes me want to buy his product, while Jaime’s book’s sales letter is just loooong and those BUY it NOW links are everywhere! Yahoo Publisher Network Alternative to Adsense?
2007-11-07 17:11:00
Last night I have decided to start implementing my YPN (Yahoo Publisher Network ) ads on my blog. I applied when they have first came been released to the public and I was denied because of traffic regulations. I then applied a while ago and I have been approved, but the email has been sitting in my inbox for quite sometime that I decided to go ahead and give it a try. For some reason readers or users who want to apply for YPN do not get approved a lot, I am assuming yahoo wants X amount of traffic before they a approve your site. It is almost going through a screening process before you can start to publish their ads on your website or blog. What is Yahoo Publisher Network YPN is just like Google Adsense , displaying relevant ads within your blog posts or website. Listed below are some features and benefits direct from Yahoo: Benefits: Increase your revenue by monetizing the content of your web site. Satisfy your users by offering them ad content related to their interests. Leverag...
