Blog Master To Retire
2007-10-30 00:01:00 That's right, folks. After almost two years of Internet Marketing, I am going to be calling it quits soon. Don't worry, I'm not actually *going* anywhere. I'm just going to stop working. You see, when I started this whole crazy mess, I had one major goal: stop working. Can I just be honest here? I hate work. Or, more specifically, I hate *having* to work. If all I did all day was stuff I *wanted* to do, that'd be great. But I can't stand when circumstances force me to do something I don't want to do. So, for the past two years, I've been searching for a way to make money without working. (As I told people at my last J.O.B, I want to be Vice President of Sits-On-Butt-All-Day.) Well, I'm pleased to announce that that day is quickly approaching! Remember when I told you about AdSense Extreme? Well, it's going to be released in early December and I must say I am very excited about how it has worked out. The script provides INSANE amounts of AdSense impr... That's going to be a big help for my niche blogs!I pay $3.25 to have someone re-write an article for me (to get unique content), or (and here's the kicker) ONLY $3.50 to have someone write a BRAND NEW ARTICLE on the subject of my choice! The Best Converting CPA Program Out There
2007-10-26 16:04:00 Ever wondered what the best converting CPA and/or lead generation program on the market is? I've spent hours banging my head against the wall because I thought I knew THE lead generation program to join, when all I got was...well...nothing.Well, if you've ever thought this, then I have good news for you. We're not alone. Another great Internet Marketer (because I know you're a great Internet Marketer), Jon Leger, wondered that same thing. So he conducted a test.Using some of the absolute worst untargeted traffic, he tried different CPA programs. The winner?http://tinyurl.com/2s2whoYou may be surprised at the results. Jon got an 8.85% conversion on that ugly traffic. Imagine what you could do with some targeted traffic, say...from a blog? *hint* *hint*Check it out. Down With Domain Kiting!
2007-10-10 05:31:00 I realize this is a little bit off the beaten path for the Blog Master, but I have something important to talk about. You see, when the WWW first became something of a "regular" thing, it was all free. I mean EVERYTHING was free. To a fault, if you know what I mean.Yeah, well, it didn't take long until marketers started arriving, because they had discovered this new, untapped medium. And, really, it wasn't so bad because here - on the Internet - even the small business person selling eBay goods in his pajamas could compete with companies like IBM. Or so we thought. That was the beginning of the domain name wars, as I like to call them. Big companies could pay more, obviously, for domain names. And little guys like me were trying to grab the "cool" names before the big guys could get to them. Then, we'd sell them for a premium. Some of us made some pretty good money. Then, the "rules" came into being and all that went away. Or did it?You see, the government was right. It was unethical... Reese Addresses Concerns
2007-10-09 07:45:00 Well, it looks like BlogRush is going to live after all. It seemed iffy there for a while. Here are a few of the highlights from John Rees e 's latest blog post:New User Interface - If the real deal looks anything like his screenshot, this will be very cool.Per-Post Statistics - Finally! Now you can see which of your posts are getting "out there."Buzz Meter - Not really sure how useful this is, but whatever.Custom Reports - I think creating reports is going overboard with BlogRush. I just want the traffic!Weighted Syndication - Another great addition. Low-traffic blogs will get the extra attention they need.More Categories - For us niche bloggers, this is a great thing as well. Lots more niches to add.Improved Security - Let's save this one for later. I want to talk about it.Widget Performance Monitoring - Another one I want to talk about in detail.(NOTE: Please excuse the rest of this post as I have a one-sided conversation with John Reese.)Okay, now before I get in detail with tho... AdSense Addendum
2007-09-26 03:23:00 Well, it seems that someone is finally getting it. Oh, I guess I shouldn't say that. I'm sure "The Black Hand" was aware of this for a while. But he(?)'s right. A lot of bloggers don't think about demographics when they put their blogs together.I know I've consulted with lots of you about this, stressing when to use the product as your primary sell and when to use AdSense.Personally, my feelings on this are: if your demographic is younger, push products. Why? Because Grandma is less likely to have her credit card handy than Junior is. In fact, Grandma is less likely to own a credit card. And it's hard to do business online without a credit card. So, push information for the older demographics and push products for the younger ones.'Nuff said. Please visit http://money-for-blogs.blogspot.com for more information. Something else to add to your niche blog
2007-09-18 05:53:00 Alright, so you've got your niche blog all nice and prettied up, with relevant AdSense ads in all the right places and even a couple of ClickBank products to boot. Now let's follow the scenario with one of your visitors.Hmm, I wonder _____ (some piece of information your blog talks about). I'll Google it.Oh, the first result here is obviously a sales page, so I'll go with that second one...the blog (here they come!)Hmm...okay, that's kind of what I thought. Alright, time to...wait, what's this?(Visitor sees a flashy ad asking which kind of candy bar they prefer.)Ah, what the heck! I've already found what I was looking for. Might as well play around a bit.*click**Ka-Ching!*What you just heard was the sound of CPA - or, more specifically, PPL.Huh? CPA? How'd we get on the subject of accountants?CPA in this instance refers to "cost-per-action." However, like I said, I'm focusing more on PPL or, Pay-Per-Lead. (I like to focus on the word "pay" rather than "cost" because, for us... More About: Blog , Niche , Some , Something Else
New system in the works
2007-09-17 14:23:00 I've decided to put together a system with some of my more "extreme" strategies and some "killer" software that puts everything in your niche blogging empire on autopilot. To be honest, this is something I probably should have done from the beginning, but I felt like the cost would keep it out of the hands of the people who needed it. However, considering the phenomenal success of The Blog Master's Guide To Niche Blogging, I've decided to go ahead and take it to the next level.Watch this space in the coming weeks. I'll be keeping you posted.TimPlease visit http://money-for-blogs.blogspot.com for more information. More About: System , Works , Stem , The Works
A New Toy!
2007-09-17 08:59:00 I love Christmas. With two kids way below their teens, it's just a blast watching them open their gifts. But even beyond that, I just love getting toys of my own. "Big boy toys" my wife calls them. I suppose this little goodie I just discovered can qualify. It's called BlogRush and it was developed by Mr. John Reese. For those who don't know, John is THE guy to talk to about traffic. He knows how to make it happen.Well, it seems that the realm of niche blogging has finally reached Mr. Reese's ears and he's developed a little beauty of a gem that will maximize your blog traffic. And the best part is, it's FREE!Yeah...I really like Christmas, even when it comes a couple months early. :-)Please visit http://money-for-blogs.blogspot.com for more information.
The Return of...
2007-09-15 06:06:00 Where did the time go? It sure doesn't seem like it's been that long since I posted here, but I guess it has.First things first. A small update. Some of you may have been wondering where I was. In fact, I saw on a couple of forums where people were (apparently) sending out search parties for me.I have to say, I am touched by the sentiment, but rest assured, I am alive and well. Some of you have even corresponded with me via e-mail. (I appreciate all the kind words about the book, btw.)Speaking of that, there have been a few questions that seem to be asked over and over, so I thought I'd throw together a mini-FAQ for your reading pleasure.Q. Is there a better way to find niches than by using NicheTaxi?A. Yes, there is. I mention it in passing in the book, so some of you may have missed the link. The program is called Niche Detector and it works great! I went through the steps for Niche Taxi mainly because I figured most people are looking for a way to make money without spending m... Getting Indexed Quickly
2007-05-12 04:15:00 Alright, so we have a blog all set up and ready to make money. Now what?Well, now we need traffic. We already talked a little about that, but today I want to focus on the two main ingredients to getting lots of traffic for free.1) Fast indexing (and I mean FULL indexing)2) BacklinksAnd, in case you weren't aware, backlinks will help speed up your indexing as well, so the two work hand-in-hand.Now, let's talk about how to get these two things.Other than backlinks, one way to get your blog indexed quickly is to submit it to blog directories. Now, I'm not talking about "pinging" it. I mean submitting it, complete with description, author and whatever else the directory asks for. There are literally hundreds of directories you can submit to (so obviously I'm not listing them all here). And, to be honest, you should use them all. But that job can get very tiring very quickly.Instead, I recommend an RSS submitter to do the job for you. It will speed up the process immensely. Without it...
More Than AdSense
2007-05-11 05:21:00 There's another neat little trick to making money with blogs besides just AdSense.Don't get me wrong; AdSense is great and makes me a lot of money, but there's a much bigger piece of the pie to be had if you play your cards right. Here's what you do...Open your blog and go to the "Template" tab. Keep it there for a bit. Now, open a new browser window and point it to ClickBank. If you're not already a member, sign up now. Once you have logged in, go to the "Marketplace."Under "keywords," type in a relevant keyword phrase for your blog. If you don't find any products right away, try a different keyword phrase until you find something.Once you have the one you want, click on "create hoplink" and enter your ClickBank ID.When you have your hoplink URL, go back to your blog template and add a page element.Choose "Link List."Enter something for "Title" (like "Links" or "Recommended", etc.). For the URL, enter the hoplink you got from ClickBank.Under the site name, just enter whatever t... More About: Adsense
Location, Location, Location
2007-05-09 07:26:00 Yes, folks, just like in real estate, ad arbitrage comes down to those three things. Well, size matters a little too (of the ads, silly). So, here's the Blog Master's 30-second ad placement quickie tour. Ready? Set?Go!You should have three AdSense ad groups on your blog (that's the most you can have anyway). The first should be placed at the very top of the blog, just below your blog's title. It should be the "728 x 90 Leaderboard" ad group. You should get 2-3 ads out of that group.Your second group should be located along the right (or left, depending on the template used) side of the blog. It should be the "160 x 600 Vertical Wide Banner" ad group. Depending on your niche, you could have anywhere from 1 to 3 ads for that group. And, finally, you should place a "468 x 15 Horizontal Row Five Link Unit" ad group at the very bottom of your blog. That's for those who simply like to scroll and see what else is on your page. With that placement and those ad groups, you should find your... More About: Location , Loca
Playing in Traffic
2007-05-08 03:42:00 One of the key ingredients to making money with a website is traffic. Traffic is like the blood flowing through your website's veins. Without traffic, your website will die. And you won't make any money. And we certainly can't have that, can we?So how do you get traffic? There are several ways, actually. And most are completely free.Of course, you can use pay-per-click advertising to draw traffic to your site. But, in the case of a blog (and, niche blogging, specifically), our goal is to not spend any money, so let's see what else we can do.Expired DomainsThere's a "dirty little secret" that many successful webmasters know about. It's called "expired domains" and here's how it works.First, you find a domain that is expiring (that is, someone has decided to let the name go and not support the website any longer), but has a lot of traffic, and you snatch it up as soon as it expires.Of course, that's easier said than done. Regardless, we have a different route to take that's si...
Ad Arbitrage And You
2007-05-06 15:06:00 Welcome back.If I were to ask you to name the most powerful website in the world, what website would you name?Give up?It's Google. You knew that, right? Of course! Google gets millions of visitors every day, searching for everything from dog training to pictures of Britney Spears. And they don't charge a dime for that service. So, how can they manage to do that? How can they let visitors use up all that bandwidth and not charge them a single red penny for it?One word. Advertising. That's right, Google places advertisements on the search results pages. They call it "Adwords" and it's pretty darn cool. So, does Google charge businesses just to appear on the search results? No, they don't. Google implements a unique system of advertising called "pay-per-click." With this method, advertisers only pay when someone clicks on their advertisement. It's very economical for the advertiser this way. But, what if someone searches for a very popular niche? Obviously there will be a lot of advert... More About: Arbitrage
Introduction - What is "Niche Blogging"?
2007-05-06 04:55:00 Hello and welcome to The Blog Master's Guide to Niche Blogging . Over the next few days, I will be sharing with you some information about niche blogging and how you can become an expert in this highly lucrative industry in no time flat, and with very little investment (if any)! So, without further ado, let's get right to it.To begin with, I thought I'd share a bit about what niche blogging is. Perhaps you've heard of it. If so, wonderful! You may still want to read this post, though, as I may bring out something you hadn't heard of before. So, what is niche blogging?Niche blogging, in this context, refers to the method of creating a blog for a specific niche. What is a niche?A niche is a market segment. For instance, "running shoes" is a niche. There are products that relate to that niche. There is also information available for that niche, such as how many calories can one burn by running a mile.Don't be misled into believing that only products are profitable when it comes to ni...
