Everyday Process: The Process of Illumination & Elimination
2007-07-23 09:35:00
Out of Chester, Pennsylvania, (just south of Philadelphia) come some young guys bringing hip-hop with a difference, turning it on its head in order to reach the people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Process (a.k.a. Mac the doulos and C-anos) is on a mission. That mission is to use hip-hop as a means to an end, and that end being impacting people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Especially those that normally wouldn't set foot in a "spiritual" setting like church. "Music is just a vehicle for us. It's simple; hip hop is a genre of music with mass appeal. It's just another way to move a vital message to the masses. We see it as an extremely effective method. This music draws so much attention and reaches so many ears; agendas can be pushed through it. So we use it as a platform to say what we need to say because it's definitely what people need to hear. This is bigger than music. We want to put people on to the truth. And not just general truth, but rather the gospel of Jesus...

Fuzzy Taylor: Glad to be
2007-07-19 10:07:00
I wanted to mix things up a bit so I though who better to mix things up than Fuzzy Taylor . Fuzzy's music is mixture of R&B soul and traditional gospel. Following in the footsteps of his father's quartet members like Gospel/R&B legends Sam Cooke and Lou Rawls there's no better word to describe Fuzzy's success as an artist - than destiny! Fuzzy's smooth soulful, vocals wrap effortlessly around contemporary rhythms for a signature sound that is sure to ignite broad appeal among both new and die-hard gospel buyers when his MCG RECORDS titled GLAD TO BE is introduced on January 16, 2007. The road to gospel greatness began in Washington D.C., for young Lynn "Fuzzy" Taylor as he first listened to and then traveled and sang with his father, Spencer Taylor's nationally renowned gospel quartet, the Highway QC's, which included his late uncle R&B superstar, Johnny Taylor. After becoming sidetracked for a while by R&B music during his Howard University days, "Fuzzy" turned an impromptu...

Jacob Izrael: Even Louder
2007-07-16 08:01:00
Jacob Izrael is a God fearing gentleman who truly believes in the word of God. Jacob Izrael inherited such a name from the Holy Bible. Genesis 32:28 states, " Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, for you have struggled with God and men and have overcome. "Iz" represents the prefix of the word Israel. According to Hebrew language the word Israel means to Struggle with God. The young inspiring/trend-setting Hip-hop artist, is back in action with his new full length disc "Even Louder". "Even Louder" is the follow up disc from Jacob Izrael's earlier Ep "Louder"(dropped 1st quarter of 2006). After creating such a buzz on the Internet and in the streets, J.I. decided to add more hits to this street classic "Louder". "I figured it was too early to give the public another Lp, so I came up with the concept of getting "Even Louder", Jacob Izrael. The earlier released featured artist such as: Playdough of DeepSpace 5, Knine, Sharlok Poems of L.A. Symphony. Adding more songs to this ...

Niyoki: My Everything
2007-07-13 10:50:00
NIYOKI (pronounced Nie-oh-kee): Her powerful name foretold her purpose in life. Her mother, who teaches high school students French and Spanish, gave each of her children meaningful names and this daughter was set on a path of purpose. NIYOKI means ?serious minded and responsible? and this anointed songstress is serious about her commitment to spreading the gospel through song. With ?MY EVERYTHING,? her solo debut as a gospel artist, NIYOKI is clear that she has been preparing for this project her entire life. This PK (Preacher?s Kid) who was raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, began singing at the tender age of six years old. She comes from gospel?s The White Family, who not only sang for years all around the country, but also recorded five albums. Over time, Niyoki gleaned important vocal and performance skills, and has put this excellent training to good use. After years with the family?s gospel group, Niyoki and her sisters decided to venture out on their own, even changing m...

Song Of the week: 2 Hard by Mr. Del
2007-07-11 12:20:00
I have decided to start trying to put up a song of the week.I find so many new, unsigned, and/or independent artists out there that are very talented. Sometimes they don't have much info on them, they just have their song. And some times I have purchased an album that I think is so underrated and unappreciated. Or I feel that this artist is so talented, that they need to be showcased, or just have a wider audience. And Sometimes, I may just love that particular song. So with out Further Ado. Here is my first song of the week. Its off the newly released Album 'Hope Dealer' by Mr. Del which I personally think is a awesome album.Enjoy!Mr. Del MySpace

New Advertising Section And Top Site For Urban Christian Artists
2007-07-11 12:15:00
Photosource:Mari-GotoI've added a new advertising section on the Forum. I really want to help Urban Christian Artists get the word out about their music. But, I am not doing this for the Artist themselves. Even though I love this music, and support it, and feel that there are many talented, and anointed Artists. I am doing this for the youth, for God's young people. I want young people to know that there is all types of good, clean, and Inspirational music out there for them. And in my HONEST opinion, most of the urban Christian music is a lot more banging and soulful then the non-Christian. It just needs to be put out there more, it needs more avenues to showcase real "God Given" talent.Growing up I was really blessed to have a mother, who supported my music choices, she felt that as long as it was Inspirational, and positive, and (because there wasn't gonna be no cursing up in her house), then who cares if it was rap, or soul, or whatever else. And that in turn made me more ope...

Angelo Mario Ray, Jr
2007-06-27 12:25:00
Hailing from Atlanta GA, Angelo Mari o Ray, Jr. is hot and currently unsigned Urban Gospel artist. Not only can he sing but he can rap as well.At the age of six, Angelo demonstrated that he had enormous musical talent. He would perform in his home for friends and family, vividly mimicking Michael Jackson?s vocals and movements. Angelo?s parents recognized early that their son had an amazing gift in singing and performing and encouraged him to continue to improve his singing as a result of the continued encouragement and discipline from both parents, Angelo evolved into a very experienced vocalist and songwriter by the age of 16.As Angelo continued to develop his singing, songwriting and dancing skills, he realized Gospel was the type of music he wanted to do. He knew that if he became a R&B or Hip-Hop artist that he might gain a lot more exposure, however, he felt that was not his calling. He and those who supported him knew that he had the ability to have a more positive impact just...

So far
2007-06-26 11:32:00
flickr.comI have found some great new Independent and Unsigned Artists. These people are barely known in mainstream Urban Gospel. I am just, as of now, waiting for them to send me their press kit or at least some type of response. Yet, it is hard doing this sometimes, you want to help people and spotlight them but no one wants to take you seriously. *sighs* It's so funny because the artists who are more known are much more friendly then the lesser or barely known. And they are more willing and much more quicker to respond back. I didn't think it would be that way, I expected the more known to be busy and not really pay me much attention, but I got quick responses, and lots of thank yous for spotlighting them. Maybe that is why God blessed them in the first place. They didn't let their ego and their fame get the better of them. They are continuously humble, and give God the glory for their sucess. (Mike Shelton is definitely one of my positive experiences with humble artists). So...

If you look in the Navigation section you will see that there is a New Forum and Store .The forum is so that all who come here and read can get acquainted with each other, as well as with of course, myself. I felt that it would also be great, for people who have like tastes in gospel music to come and talk and fellowship.I know that in some places Christian Hip hop, and sometimes even Urban Gospel, are still not accepted in the church, which is sad because all forms of black gospel, even some of the original, has touched on and represented that generation of people and their music tastes. *sighs* It seems that generation through generation of Christian musical artists and their listeners have been subjected to persecution and struggling to find acceptance in the church. And that is why the older generation of Christian musical artists are much much more acceptable of their younger counterparts then the peopl...
