Remembering Hawthorne Heights' Casey Calvert

peta2, an animal rights group that Casey Calvert of Hawthorne Heights spent a lot of time volunteering with, is doing a day of action for animals 12/8 as a memorial tribute.Casey was always full of life. Although shy, he always had a kind word for everyone, made time for his fans, and was dedicated to helping animals in any way he could. He was fun and quirky, and things like his obsession for Tofu Robots and his deep-rooted hatred of onions only endeared him that much more to all of us.When we spoke with Casey over the summer, he told us that he had recently discovered the joys of not only tofu but vegetables too. He also talked about how seeing animals trucked to slaughter made him feel and about the importance of spaying and neutering dogs and cats. a long time ago, when we were first starting out we would play places like chicago and milwaukee. we would play with bands like kill the slave master, extinction, race traitor and arma angelus. all great bands from that area at the time. we would joke around and fuck around with the dudes in that band cuz they were OUR friends. they would put us up and cook for us. they would always put us on the biggest shows and every once in awhile you would get an unexpected call because they were just thinking about us and wanted to here from us and it was vice versa, they would come to buffalo and the same would happen and our phone actually went both ways. we went on tour with martyr, 7 angels, 7 plagues and andy hurley went just to hang out with us. on that tour pete came to a show in chicago and danced for us and then we stayed with them. he gave me a demo and said "hey man, i know you wont like this. its my new band. were a pop punk band!" i chuckled and didn't really take him serious. i ...

We just received confirmation the 46664 Concert on December 1st ( World Aids Day) will be shown on various stations worldwide. The footage will be aired on SABC TV throughout Africa and relayed around the world on stations including MTV Africa, CNN, T5M, Reuters, APTN and BBC Worldwide.
