Thurston Moore - Trees Outside The Academy

Wow! Listen up Sonic Youth and Thurston Moore fans, i'm loving Trees Outside The Academy ,his first solo album since 1995 in September. Get ready for amazing guitar and violin combinations. In addition, Sonic Youth's Rather Ripped mixer John Agnello came aboard for the 12-track affair, which also features collaborations with Mascis and Charalambides' Christina Carter, who duets with Moore on "Honest James." Andrew Macgregor and noise rocker Leslie Keffer also perform on Trees Outside the Academy. This is mostly an acoustic and lyrically driven work, you'll hear nice guitar solos and instrumental noisy music from time to time, but it really is a distinctive record. Super Furry Animals were one of the first post-alternative bands, fusing together a number of disparate musical genres, but, i don't understand why they are trying to hide the best songs on new records. Why "Show Your Hand" should be first single, it's a boring one when there are other standout songs to make strong return! Despite its radio-friendly, repetitive lyrics, it's not a terrible single. Hey Venus ! will make it good, as you know Super Furry Animals don't have any bad records, pretty songs again shine through the whole record. The two new Smash ing Pump kins songs Doomsday Clock, Tarantula, and i've got a bad feeling of Zeitgeist. I haven't had problem of previous Billy Corgan and Smashing Pumpkins record. Anyway it's great to see them back (Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin). Thanks to Live of Others' creators for bringing such a meaningful movie despite its desperate atmospehere at times. This is not totally a new EP, all the songs on the five-track collection were written in 2004 while touring their debut LP 'Fever To Tell', with four of the five tracks appearing on the DVD 'Tell Me What Rockers To Swallow'. The only reason I'd listen to Yeah Yeah Yeahs is Karen O, because there are some garage rock bands whose guitar hooks are better than YYYs in my view. It goes in different directions after "Drum's Not Dead", a more listenable sound!!! These guys want to try something new. This time, they gave up to hang out with cannibals ¿? Or maybe they've been listening to Sonic Youth, Jesus and Mary Chain or Pixies quite a lot as well. I must admit that one song (Leather Prowler) was a joyful experience for me, but the band sounds like they've been mixing experimental/post rock, noise rock records for the rest or it. Sometimes guitar works remind you of Phil Manzanera's sharp guitars. It's hard to do a choice between the vocal and the music because the lack of melody except song named "Protection" where they come with a nice vocal contribution to their gloomy music. However Liar s provide something more than an avarage post-rock band. You may like this record, but hey Liars , please stop mourning!Liars - Plaster Casts of Everything

Oh God, you know how i hate name similarities such as Bryan Adams and Ryan Adams . And also if i see many influences lists on artists' myspace page like influenced by: The Beatles, Scott Walker, The Stone Roses... And the result is a simple music without any connection to these references. Of course i'm not against to Ryan Adams' upcoming Easy Tiger , because he doesn't have any artists to trick you on his influences section. Ryan Adams' ninth solo studio album offers a formula of light music that you can listen whenever you want. Everybody Knows is a great song! Sometimes we need this nice guy with his heavy acustic, folkish, country-rooted emotional songs.Other stunning cuts got my attention on Easy Tiger:The Sun Also Sets is such a bone work. Great road movie connected with real stories of some of our lives. Like in the movie, there is only winner in the life, so it's not end of the world if you're not winner. I'm really tired of movies which have always a winner at the final. Despite good things that you want in your life, you can't achieve success in rat race everytime. And getting used to this is the best thing to do. Finals are absolutely important in a movie, and Litt le Miss Sunshine doesn't disappoint you. The soundtrack album was written for the most part by touchy indie rock band DeVotchKa. We started wearing purple, wearing purple on their previous record Gypsy Punks Underdog World Strike.. Now on Super Tara nta!, we are all going to be drunk! Super Taranta! has long playing lentgh, and a lot of Gogol Bordello 's same gypsy punk goes here and there. Alcohol which is the most alcoholic and moody song of the record is my favorite cut. Although singer/lyricist Eugene Hutz sometimes sings like a crow in the song, it sounds nice. There is another song named Suddenly...(I Miss Carpaty) which completely describes their lovely music, taking speedy rhythms of punk rock, and blends it with colourful character of their cultural sounds. Tried Beastie Boys' The Mix Up (2007) in which The New York rabble-rousers return to rock roots, but again it's not what i want in fact. The Sarah Silverman Tv Show was funny, but it's not funny for me anymore (i'm out of topic again because of my excitement). For today i just only wanted to give you some time worthy music. Rating: 8.5/10Review:Oh what a great voice, what a great recording! I thougth it was truly better than their two solo records at first listen. And maybe I'm right or Chaplin' voice gets touchy-feely with moody light music on this b-side collection. There are more than three stunning songs, Fly To Me, The Way You Want It, Emily, To The End Of The Earth, The Way You Want It and many more. Kean e should make emotional songs, and with this one they're on right direction after "Under The Iron Sea" which Chaplin's voice exceedingly layered with upbeat pianos, overdosed melodies. This was quite wrong way that he has a pure voice to effect the emotional side of the audience. And also cover songs are chosen delicately to support Litt le Broken Words ' bitter melodies. I've heard the whole new The White Strip es which regularly draws simple guitars, drums, and again guitars. I must admit that "Seven Nation Army" is their best single and work yet, I can't see such another amazing song on this album despite many hard-hitting guitars work on Jack White's impatient songwriting. The White Stripes love noises, unfortunately quite simple songs aren't memorable enough being a flawless garage rock or pop/rock record. Catch Hell Blues got my attention on first spin, and what I like most about the new record is a song named Conquest which is cover of a Corky Robbins song.
