Prashant's third show rocked Kathmandu!

Even if it was Prashant's third performance at Kathmandu , people were still enthusiast to watch him sing. "Experience D' Idols", Prashant Tamang live in concert with Charu Semwal and Amit Paul along with the Kid Soul, Anil Singh, Mingma Sherpa and Kranti Ale astound the audiences! Thousands of people were present at the Dashrath Stadium for the concert. Although it was Prashant's and Charu's third performance, Amit was performing for the first time. The opening performance was made by the "Kid Soul" followed by Anil Singh, Mingma Sherpa, Kranti Ale. The audiences popped into thrill as Charu Semwal joined Kranti Ale for the "Cyanga hoi Chyangba" duet. He is the first contestant of Indian Nepalese origin to make it to the final rounds of Indian Idol and finally win. He is also the first person from the Indian police force to enter the final rounds. After the death of his father, Prashant, who was still in school, had to leave school and join Kolkata Police to support his family. He was a favorite to win the competition due to strong backing from the people of Nepalese origin and the Indian police force. I never followed Indian Idol closely but its its a pity that Deepali din't even make it to the final rounds. She has got awesome singing talent and is an excellent performer on stage, and on most importantly, she is HOT!On the other hand Prashant was trying sing the melodious number in spite of requests from the audience for some rocking hip hop numbers. An Indian Policeman from Darjeeling won the ?Indian Idol? song competition and Nepali s went wild with pride and joy. This is not to take anything away from Prashant. A clean cut young man, who probably looks more ?Nepali? than you or me, he has a beautiful voice and sings Nepali songs from the heart. The irony, obviously, is that the latest show of Nepali nationalism can be attributed to the musical talents of an Indian policeman. Being the sister of the immensely popular Prashant has certainly made college life quite different since October, she acknowledges shyly. Beena Debroy, right, who also lives in rented quarters in Pradhan Cottage with her daughter Surobhi, left (they have settled here from Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh, for a year so Surobhi can write her ICSE exam; there are no ICSE schools in her hometown) says, "Outwardly their life (the Tamangs') does not seem to have changed too much. They are very down to earth people. If I can afford only this one outfit (gestures to her kurta) or two, you can see that they now have more clothes to wear." She obligingly takes you to a locked door decorated with a Buddhist-style toran (curtain) and tells you that many people like to take a picture of this closed door and you could too. Clicked, see image below. "The family has not been here for a while. We don't exactly know where they are. They said his mother and sister was with him in Calcutta." It is a tiny two-room home virtually part of a tenement. Ten to 12 families live here in modest circumstances.
