Hawk Nelson Typo and Free Music from Charlie Hall

I think this is a typo:[Name removed to protect privacy], this is a confirmation that you have entered the Hawk Nelson "Hawk Nelson Is Your Friend" Contest. Anyone ever heard of Guardian? If you have, you're probably familiar with Jamie Rowe , even if you didn't know it. Jamie was the lead vocalist for Guardian. Interestingly enough, though Guardian was a heavy rock band, Jamie's solo project is pretty mellow compared to it. It sounds like the perfect music for a car trip with the windows down... I digress.Anyway, Jamie has two songs available for free at his Purevolume. The first is called "The Bumper Sticker Song ". The second is "The Bumper Sticker Song" in Spanish. So if you speak Spanish, rock on. If you don't, go with the English version. And if you speak Russian you are out of luck.-Jamie Rowe on Purevolume-

FreeCCM.com, the free music website run by INO Records, just added new music this past week. It now has brand new songs from The Afters, Addison Road , Laura Story .The songs are "Forty-Two" for the Afters, from the CD Never Going Back to OK, "It Just Takes One" for Addison Road, from their self titled, and last but not least the title track from Laura Story's Bless the Lord. Remember yesterday when I said would attempt to "patch" X2008 with free music? Well, the downloads I was going to use expired, so I only have two songs of the 6 I was going to feature. Worst part is, I've already featured both songs.-The Wedding - "Staring At The Light"--Disciple - "Scars Remain"-However, I do have good news. Lost Ocean is a new indie-pop-melodic band, comparable to Deas Veil or most of the Credential Records bands. They have two free, download-able songs on their Purevolume page. Hip-hop fans rejoice! I have hundreds of free Christian rap songs. Seriously, what I'm about to tell you about is the biggest amount of gospel hip-hop I've ever seen in one spot before.The website is SphereOfHipHop.com. They have a unbelievable amount of free music. It's crazy. It's awesome. From Applejaxx to YSG-Timothy, they have it all. Due to the amount of music available, I won't try to name all the artists. They do have awesome tracks from John Reuben, KJ-52, GRITS, the Cross Movement, Verbs, Playdough, and LA Symphony. Really, you need to see it for yourself. I recommend just picking something that looks interesting and downloading away.Even if you aren't big on rap, you still may like some of the songs on the list. For example, "Are You Real?" by KJ-52 featuring Kutless is an anthematic rock song which was featured on the X series. Believe it or not, this is my one-hundredth post here. I can't believe I wrote that much. And that's a lot of music. From my first post to right now, I would guess that I've written about around 400 different, free songs. That's pretty awesome. You know, I've been featuring mostly Christian rock artists lately (Spoken, Eleventyseven, The Afters, etc.), I've decided to feature something a little slower. If you don't like it your mother may. :)Anyway, I have two songs today from Amy Grant . I know that there's a lot of controversy surrounding her, but she's still a major part of the CCM scene. Evidently, the two mp3 were featured in Amy's autobiography MOSAIC. I was lucky to find the link for them. The songs are "Sing Your Praise to the Lord" and "Wise Up". I haven't heard much from Spoken in my life. Nevertheless, this song just rises to the top*. It's called "Bitter Taste", and the band is offering it as a free download on their Purevolume. The song is from their CD Last Chance to Breathe, and features special guest Cory from Norma Jean. You may know that the Afters have a new CD coming out called "Never Going Back to OK". What you may not know is that to celebrate the new CD, they have promised free music "and other great stuff" to everyone who signs up for their mailing list. There's no word yet what songs will be given away, or when the the songs will be sent out. Yesterday I went out and filmed a web-commercial for this blog. You can actually watch it on Youtube right now. It's titled Winter, and it features the snow. If you remember back to the 12 Day of Christmas series, when I was without power for 5 days during an ice storm, you'll understand where I'm coming from with this.
