So Massive
2007-09-24 03:25:00 OK, so, the Crookers Massive EP finally got released through Pottymouth. Of course it's a grand release, Bumblebees is definitely one of my favorite tracks of the year, i've been waiting for it for way too long...You can buy it thru beatport, which finally accepts paypal. Only thing is, is that you need to have funds in your paypal account, which means it doesn't just grab it out of your bank account like most places, probably cause there can be a delay, i dunno. Anyway, it's still paypal on there, aka no credit card needed. (p.s. with the massive release, if you want the original horns release (uses the jump around horns in the break/build section) then wait for a few more days, as there's a differnt version up at the moment, but Amato informs the horns version'll be up soon.)Also check out this dope track i got in my myspace mail from this kid Foamo. Don't know a whole lot about him, and it seems this is the only track he has floating around at the moment. It's been played...

2007-09-13 08:29:00 Edit:Sorry i thought thursday was friday, often i get the month and year mixed up too... i've updated to include days in my words, but the dates where in the pictures at least, and lets face it, who reads these days)Dre Skull has finally made it out to Oz. 50 ways to Brabe
2007-09-13 03:30:00 So here's the Brabe post! Been sitting on these gems of tracks for a while now, and am now happy to chuck em up for everyone. I got onto this guy, like it seems a lot of people now have, after The Bulgarian raved about him and put some tracks in his Discobelle mix.Anyway, if i had have posted this right when i got the tracks, i wouldn't have the info that labels have been hitting up Brabe trying to sign him. So where i woulda been like i can't believe he's not signed, i'm now like if you wanna sign him now's the time... He is in a project with René van Munster, called Bootlickers (that's both of them in the pic above). They've got an EP due soon under South African label Downsouth Records. What really trips me out, is that he's only been making tunes in reason for a year! Spose the fact that he's trained in violin, piano and jazz-trumpet is helping out, but damn! I can't wait to hear all the rest of the stuff he does in the future. Be sure to check his myspace for now, as ...
Out there we are grinding like pepe
2007-09-10 12:30:00 I felt it was about time i did a post on Afrikan Boy. You just know he's gonna blow up. I can't get enuf of the Hussel track he did with M.I.A. on Kala (PS Kala is like the best album of the year by faaarrr, no doubt!), the beat was so Switch (although it's produced by M.I.A, Diplo and Switch), and the rhymes fit in all too well.Anyway i was watching the episode of "Spike Jonez Spends Saturday With", on VBS.tv (on recommendation from Palms Out), where spike was doing an episode with MIA. She's starting up a new label, Zig Zag ("when life is a straight line you gotta zag it"), and Afrikan Boy is her first signing, so she takes spike over to his house (part 3 and 4 of the episode). In part 3 they show Afrikan Boy's new track "One Day I Went to Lidl" and i was all like woah!...He's got some mad flow, and a damn cool grimey style. I like his kinda Africanish flow and style, and feel like it's different than your average Grime. Would have something to do with what M.I.A. was talki... More About: Pepe , Grind , Grin , Grindin

Gaiola Das Popozudas
2007-09-08 10:50:00 This track is meant to be a big hit in Brazil at the moment. Gaiola Das Popozudas is rhyming about dudes coming over to her house and not bringing rubbers. The vocal is being used in the version 5 of the Man Recordings awesome Funk Mundial series, along with a Makossa & Megablast beat (hear it at their myspace). Expect digital release on September 28th.Apparently there live shows kill it. It looks like it from the video above... got some serious porn'd up dance moves going on there.Gaiola Das Popozudas - Late Que Eu To Passando (alt link)

my mix-tape brings all the boys to the club
2007-09-04 11:50:00 Have gotten a couple of pretty hot mix-tapes in the mail in the past week. Two completely differnt styles too.The first, by DJ Beware, has been at a couple of blogs, which i got sent from Daniel Haaksman, owner of the ever awesome Man Recordings. With "the best picks from all Man Rec releasesin 2007, including Baile Funk Masters 1-3 and Funk Mundial 1-5" on it, and all cut up in true style. A real hip hop vibe going thru it, some nice turntable trickery, which accounts for some really smooth and well thought mixes.DJ Beware - Man Recordings Megamix 2007Tracklist:DJ Edgar - Be Goes OnDJ Edgar - Coraçao Do FunkDJ Sandrinho - Pumpere Upu003cdiv styleu003d"margin-top:0px;margin-right:0p x;margin-bottom:0px;margin-left:0px">4. Prince William
2007-09-03 18:50:00 Damn, i just gotta say, this post is too much awesome. Annnd it's not about prince william, hooray!First up, Leaky Holes In Your Brain went down a treat on saturday, big up to everyone who came down. The beats were fresh, Buffer did some dope masking tape, and new VJ crew Projector Obscura had some mad visuals going on. It was pretty nicely packed most of the time, the dancefloor was good, people were getting down, the dance room was at least full pretty much the whole time. Dude i had a fucked up experience tho, my computer was sitting on this cushioned chair for obviously too long, and the fucker overheated and crashed on me mid set! Was fucked up! Dancefloor obviously died for a bit, and i had to chuck on some random records then a CD or two before i loaded everything up again, so that fucked shit up and i was pissed, but things got better quickly, the rest of the set was good, people still hung out, and Loot came on to do some saving... Oh for those who are interested, we now h... More About: Prince William , Prince , William
Mixburn Vol.1
2007-08-31 03:39:00 The first release of the Mixburn series!!I think i've mumbled about the fact that this was gonna start up on the blog. Basically it's gonna be an ongoing mix series, where i'll be asking Melbourne DJs i think are pretty damn good to do a mix for the blog. They'll say a little bit on it, i'll say a little bit on it, it'll be good. It'll act as a bit of a Melbourne talent (/DJ talent) showcase, and will provide some bitchin, yes bitchin, mixes for your ears. It'll happen on close to a monthly basis, depending on when the mixes come in though. I've got a couple more people making some now too, so expect some more hotness.Ok, on to it. This first mix comes from, now fellow scatterblogger, DJ Paz. He's been bumpin clubs since as long as i've been going to them (and some more), and has definately established himself in the Melbourne scene. I've always admired the way Paz can really keep on top of stuff. He's known about a whole lotta movements, and bought up a whole lotta rec... More About: Burn
Harmon CD Launch @ Leaky Holes Sat Sep 1st
2007-08-29 05:33:00 It's on like donkey kong playaaaaa! This one is geared up to be a killa. (hell i don't wanna boast, but arn't they all? this one especially but but).So as some of you may know, i did a remix for Harmon, of his track Moo a lil while back. It's been on my myspace for a lil bit, and now it's being officially released! it's my first official release too, some i'm mega stoked, Harmon's been a champion to get it up and running, big up!At the moment, there's only a limited run of 100 CDs (it'll go up on beatport in the near future) which will be selling for only $5 which is damn cheap, you'll be able to grab some at this launch.Anyway other exciting stuff, is that Buff Diss'll be doing his masking tape thing on the Loop interior which gets taken down at the end of the night. Loot (who did the awesome remix of La Musique with DJ Ooh-eE provided below. Also found out the girl on vocals isn't actually Yelle, but someone from sydney called Gina.) will be DJing, so will i, along wit... More About: Launch , Holes

2007-08-26 18:18:00 No one ever talks up Fatboy Slim anymore and it's so infuriating! If it wasn't for that bastard I'd probably not be a dj now. Not saying that he changed my life or anything, but he's pretty magical. With all the shit thats getting revived these days why am i the only one comfortable with reviving Fatboy Slim? Bring back big beat. Now. I'm sick of getting classified as a "guilty pleasure" dj when i play this.Cornershop - Brimful Of Asha (Norman Cook remix)If you wanna buy it get the best of from AmazonP.S. (3 is a mix!)
2007-08-26 16:15:00 Straight up it is. Got this one exclusively for the blog from my mates in Italy, 3 Is A Crowd (you might remember their Nchlinez edit). The mix is well bangin too! You all know how i'm a bit of a mix nazi with what i put on here (to those who have been sending me mixes that i havn't posted, doesn't necessairily mean i don't like them, it can often just be that i don't think they fit in with the blog). This mix however, is going straight to my car stereo (which means there'll be repeat action). There's a bunch of nice remixes, edits and original production by the boys, which basically just indicates to me that people should keep their eye out for future stuff. If they keep going the way they are i'm sure they'll get signed sometime soon. Check out their DJ sets if you're over in Italy (obviously not the night above as it's a year old, i just liked the flyer) .Anyway as an added bonus they've also hooked us up with some tracks to be on the DL. FROM BMORE WITH LOVE
2007-08-23 03:09:00 Scattermish has told me to help build the Melbourne hype. Here is part one.The once infamous Scottie B, Unruly CEO and Baltimore Club DON, is coming to Melbourne.I am a big fan of Baltimore Club music, and you can hear me pound some out Saturday Nights at Revolvers "THE LATE SHOW" with Dj Ransom and crew. Ransom worded me up on this years ago, like he does with heaps of stuff, so lets say it is because of him Scottie is heading our way.I sent Scottie a list of 16 questions about Baltimore Club music and his involvment, as well as a request to post one of his tracks. He was quick in response, and gave me permission to put up some of his heat.QUESTIONS: SCOTTIE B ?FROM BALTIMORE WITH LOVE?1. IS BALTIMORE CLUB A FORM OF ?BREAK BEAT? MUSIC?No. it has been around before breakbeat. Actually has been around before rave and techno hit the u.s.2. THE ?TOP END LOOPS? ARE VERY SIMILAR SAMPLES, CAN YOU GIVE UP THE NAMES OF THE MOST COMMONLY USED BREAKS USED FOR MAKING THE BALTIMORE SOUND?Sure, ... More About: Love , With Love

2007-08-19 04:34:00 Ok, so my girlfriend is FINALLY back from being in europe for too long, and then having a delayed flight, ahh the suspense!! So anyway i'll probably go into hibernation for a little while. So it's probably perfect timing there's some dope new cats to write stuff for you on the blog, hurrah! Get's a whole lotta gigs playing all over, rightfully so too, the kid's got class. It's weird tho, like when i speak to just any ol person from melbourne who like, goes out, seems to know of CWD, and there all like yeh he's a madcunt like he's their best friend. Either he's really friendly to lotsa people, or everyone wants a piece. Check his blog, it's got hip hop, skating, other stuff to keep him and you entertained whilst bored.Sing Along With See DubA select mp3 from it comes from this post, ...
The Salmon Dance
2007-08-17 09:36:00 The Salmon Dance single by the Chemical Brothers feat Fatlip (of Pharcyde fame) is due to be released September 10th, there's absolutely shit hot remixes by The Crookers and Herve which you can preview on their Myspaces. The best song off the album, i'm sure the single is gonna be one of my favorite releases of the year. It's old now, but why not check out the original if you havn't already. The Chemical Brothers ft Fatlip - The Salmon Dance (alt link) In other news of awesome, check out Detboi's new remix of Full Phat, available at Juno thru On The Brink Recordings. Real mad mad banga-langa. Fresh Cole
2007-08-16 04:20:00 Got a nice bit of hot Cole in the mail today. He's done did a remix of the Soulja Boy track that is sending some states crazy over in the US i hear. Soulja Boy has a pretty strange and kinda relaxed roll in his rhyme that can work to some great effect. Cole has done a really good job at turning this into a housey banga! You gotta love those big chimey kick stabs, they always make me feel like slamming my hand down to the ground.Check the original if you ain't heard it.Cousin Cole and Willy Joy are apparently working on a mix tape of many of the various Crank That remixes out there. Also look out for his folk remix CD with Pocketknife Tamborine Dream due out sometime in OctoberOn another interesting note, Soulja Boy has an album Get That due out Oct 2.Soulja Boy - Crank That Soulja Boy (Cousin Cole Remix) (alt link) More About: Fresh
Celebration
2007-08-15 12:45:00 Yep time for some more celebration, because.... FINALLY when you search for scattermish on google, it doesn't say "did you mean scatterfish". Hoorah, that's been annoying me since day 1, and it would seem that now i've got more google rep than the scatterfish toy does. And who are we in life with out google rep? nothing, nobody, that's who.So in light of me enjoying having my head up my arse, i thought i'd put together a little mini mix. Nothing too special, just a wee bit of fun i thought i'd chuck together, not really thought out much at all, i just like some of these songs at the moment. That Kill Bill track by LA Riots was a great idea, so i chucked it up for YouSendIt download.scattermish - Upity Downers Mintro Mix (alt link)Tracklist:Worthy- Irst_te (Claude's R U Thirsty Mix)LA Riots - Kill BillMr V - Put Your Drink Down (Bob Sinclar Remix)Bag Raiders - Fun PunchTo My Boy - Model (Sinden Remix) More About: Celebration , Brat
Big Tings, Big Tings - aka scatterblog
2007-08-13 13:13:00 So it's time to expand this sukka! It started off with Buff Diss coming on board to write stuff, now there's a couple new recruits to the blog::TranterandPazalsoDeltoid might come and write as well when he gets back from the UK.Exciting if you ask me. The name has also now been changed to "scatterblog". Basically i wanted to get some other input to the blog, with some like minded melbournians, and get a few more interesting posts going on the blog. The background, well Tranter used to read the blog and found me out, and i ended up playing a couple of gigs with him at the White Men Can't Crunk nights @ Click Click. They were fun, and he was cool and we got along well. We also both liked glasses. He did rather smashing mixes too, and made cool little mashes, and yeh we just kept a bit of random contact thru music i spose. He's in the group Gameboy/Gamegirl who are doin it big. He also DJs round town, is part of the streetparty crew and is now part of this new thang Manchovies. Total ...

Another Day, Another Hate
2007-07-24 04:51:00 Man i'm such a hater these days. Hmm actually i've been a hater for a while, everyone hates, just now days i find it a whole lot harder to get over or ignore. For example, i hate going to shit clubs too much lately. Like the crowd at these places can really get to me, i keep feeling like such a fucken snob, but geezus, some of these crowds are horrible. And man, so many DJs around here fucken suck, like really suck, it's annoying. I'm just like, how the hell do they get jobs, and keep getting them? There's more to DJing than being able to beat match. Everyone can beat-match, especially in genres where every tune is made at the same speed. But you'll go places, and see people just like leave a 6 minute track to play the entire way thru, and then just mix it out, in like the last few bars of the outro. I know there's a time and place for DJs who "don't really mix" or "have great track selection" (not quotes i choose to abide by), but when you go out, to a DJ night, you expect ... More About: Hate
Regality
2007-07-21 08:35:00 Heads up that Duke Dumonts long awaited EP, Regality has been released. It has that pimp track Lean and Bounce, his awesome remix of Debbie Deb's When I Hear Music, and a new track Final Level. You can get it thru DJ Tunes, or a bit cheaper thru Beatport. Also i was trying to get the new Crookers remix of Armand Van Helden's I Want Your Soul, and got the ever annoying beatport thing where it says "this release is not available in your territory". Which i think everyone agrees is the most annoying and backwards thing, which is just to do with distribution issues with the label i think. But not to worry, cause there's a way past this.1. Go here, and download Hide IP.2. Install and start it up, and it will automatically find a proxy server that masks your IP.3. Usually it's a good idea to find an proxy server in the US since they will most likely have distribution rights over there. So keep getting the program to search until you find one. Then you can save that IP in the Hide IP op... More About: Ality
Digital Manges
2007-07-19 08:11:00 Yeah! A pure fresh new joint of hotness right here. Digital Manges (manges is greek for gangster) formed only recently. As it is written, "Friday night drinks and shenanigans has produced Digital Manges" ;p.The sounds are fresh for club bangin. I can definately feel some sorta South American party influence, some almost dnb'y bass push, and some dubstep-ish club anthem phat production. Basically all those words = a nice formula in my science book.Anyway check it out, scatterblog exclusive! and it's good quality. I'll keep you updated on any future stuff. I think i'll do a remix of the track some time soon too. Also Digital Manges is the bastard child creation of D.L.I. and Sauce Face.Digital Manges - Manges (alt link)

3 is a crowd
2007-07-16 04:33:00 Got this lil bit of heat recently, coming from 3 Is A Crowd 's DJ Froz. It's a nice little figeted club edit of the Crookers track Nchlinez ft Dargen D'Amico, who raps with Phra (apparently the rap is about Phra invitiv D'Amico out to a party to rap with the crookers. D'Amico is all cool and about to leave but then he feels uncomfortable cause he hasn't freestyled in a while and thinks other can will beat him in a battle). The track is really cool, and will fit into my house-hop kinda sets. It's originally off the Crookers Mix Tape. Froz has made it fit for DJs and extended it a bit and added his own little touch of fidgety goodness for the edit. Also if you're looking for any new Crookers releases, a couple have just come out. There's their remix for Diabolico Coupé which you order with PayPal over at this lavorare myspace page (i'm hoping my copy gets here by the weekend). Also that remix of The Cat by Dusty Kid, which has been on their myspace for a while is now available,...
