You can lick my Limonare
2007-05-25 11:20:00 Limonare is growing on me i must say. At first i was a little bit iffy on the rapper, but hell those cut-up style repetative lyrics and that crunchy Crookers sound is helping push me past my doubts. I can't wait to see what happens with this project, hopefully it stays as dirty as it is in this first track. I guess if i were to try and describe what the project is like from this track, it kinda makes me think of a mesh of baile funk (some lady-like screeming vocals), justice (all that crunch and distortion) and the crookers (that role baby, that flow), with some rapping on top, so that can't be bad.I think Stylophonic is also involved btw, maybe he's rhyming? Check out the video below, i also found what seems to be a really early version of the track, cause the vocals sound different and it's not as good as the version in the video. Also take a peek at the video of it happening live. This should be out soon on P-House Recordings i'm expecting... Limonare - Limonare (early 128k... More About: Mona
Inflating
2007-05-25 08:31:00 This is on tomorrow night. The warehouse is behind hunts jim, you go through the carpark. These parties always get really bumpin, and get shut down by the cops at 5am. Anyway, what makes this one uber cool is that it's a CASSETTE launch, which still = cool in my books. Also The Inflatables are mad, and they have a new album being released. I'm hoping that it is the new album on the cassette, or something close to it... (and and if ya didn't know, D-Fro who did Blow Down with me is in the inflatables) Also if you feel like something more DJ, i'm playing at the croft in the city again for On The Money. Oh and Sine Lang at workshop was pretty cool last night, especially since it's getting cold and shitty. thanks if ya came down ;) More About: Flat
Damn Solid Bro
2007-05-23 17:50:00 I gotta wake up in a few hours, but fuck it... yeah yeah, and yeah. So this is how it goes. Herve and Seba make up a sound i like to put on repeat and bug out to. Dead Soul Brothers (i first said summin about em here, remember?) are taking me back and sending me forward at the same time. The sound is reminding me of something i like from a while back, but then flipped to give me something i havn't quite heard before. I think it's something to do with how everything blends. There's some rocky samples, smooth vocals, then all of a sudden there might be a huge pulsating herve-esque beat.Herve's chucked together a medley preview for us of there upcoming EP which i'm obviously excited about. So you get a snippet of 7 of the 8 songs that will be available for digital download and on a double 12" pack in 4-6 weeks. The only track missing is a remix by Phones which i can't wait to hear along with the rest of the tracks in their entirety. Dead Sould Brothers are also working on an albu... Stop me before i kiss again
2007-05-20 10:29:00 Everyone seems to have been hyping how good of a song Stop Me is by Mark Ronson and Daniel Merriwether (anyone else know he's an ozzie?) for a while now. True, it is, but the remix by that fantabulous cat Kiss y Sell Out is just as good. Kissy does so much good stuff. I manage to like pretty much all of his songs somehow, even if they're not exactly fitting to my style of liking, you can usually appreciate them in some way. With this track, however i just straight up lub it cause it's a banger.Buy more kissy sell out track from beatport.Mark Ronson Feat Daniel Merriwether - Stop Me (Kissy Sell Out's True Romance) (alt yousendit link) More About: Fore
Some bits
2007-05-20 09:56:00 I've been getting little bits of love lately which have been pretty mad. They play the Club Action/Herve/Princess Superstart remix i did to a massive crowd in that video above in stockholm (sorry, desprezo from GuerrilhaClub infromed me in the comments that it's actually in brazil, even better! and the dude is the drummer from sepultura!). The track got a post and a nice review from Bigstereo the other day. Robot Broadcasts has been like what up, and the scatter vs mish mix got posted on discobelle. I'm also starting to get many more plays on my mysace, and have almost hit double figures in the thousands. So all that is pretty sweet news "for a little girl from hong kong", and it's inspiring me to make more tunes, which i'm doing, and have some awesome mcs helping me out with it too.So big up!Anyway on to a post about music. I realised why i had the title to Yelle's Je Veux Te Voir as Short Dick Man... cause it samples it. Does anyone who reads this blog speak french? I know t... More About: Bits , Some

On The Brink
2007-05-17 06:17:00 On The Brink Records are now moving all their releases over to major digital download sites (i'm assuming not iTunes cause as it says at their myspace, "itunes is for faggots"). This does mean they'll stop doing vinyl, but vinyl is expensive, and if you're not a big label it can be hard. I'm happy, because i'm a digital download whore these days, and i'm ready to splash cash on these puppies. Check out some serial releases due above!
i have many names
2007-05-16 06:51:00 Yall comin to the buff diss dig tonite? should be pimpin. I felt like writing a post, mainly cause i'm meant to be finishing an assignment and want a distraction. I just can't bring myself to write a boring arse make-up budget. The projects where we need to do a remix are much more fun, my remix is sounding alright too, i'll post it up here when it's finished next week some time.I got too shit hot collabs coming up with some artists emcees atm, so keep an eye out on my myspace for that maybe, i'll word you up on that when it's here though. Also just for a note, keep June 2nd open, as the night i'm gonna be doing with buff diss is gonna open then. It's much earlier than we expected, so it's gonna be a rush to get stuff ready, but it'll be a pimpin night. There's a drawback that can't get the O.K. to do live art inside the venue, but there's still gonna be a street art theme with mad beats, i got some cool djs on board, it'll be a pimp night. Also keep open June 29th, as ... Double the Buffness
2007-05-15 13:44:00 That's right, two scoops of pecan deluxe this week. First off, on Wednesday I'll be doing some live taping at Roxanne Parlour for Blame it on the Rain. The show's being put on by the generous crew at Hell Yeah Projects and should be banger, lots of great heads to check out on the night. Get in early cause you know the melburn beer pirates are crafty scabs. I'll post up the aftermath soon as the smokes cleared...The following night I've got a clip in the Caught On Tape exhibition playing the big screen at fedsquare. Big ups to the wideyedkid for putting together such a fresh lineup of flicks! The clip in the show is actually the making of the piece below. I made it as a memorial for a friend who took his own life last year. The wings are based upon a phoenix tattoo I found in an old Juxtapoz magazine, they hold alot of his character for me. The sharp front lines are in a way the reality keeping him in the past. Scatter dropped his 'Blow Down' colab with D-fro for the clip an... More About: Double , Ness , Buff

2007-05-12 17:02:00 Another exclusive post that i feel privileged about. However this one comes from a local melbourne producer, Thief (aka DJ gsan). I've only ever really known him as a DJ who supported at like almost every hip hop show and etc i'd go to see down here. Now i've been introduced to him as a producer, and as a good one at that. He's just released the Thief EP (cover above). It takes you on a cooled out downtempo hip-hopy kinda vibe, with a lil more. He says he wanted something that has a sense of journey to it, that would reflect styles true to his heart, "sample heavy, soul driven down tempo broken beats." And that's kinda how it turns out, smooth tunes, cool samples and nice flow. The track we've given here is kinda different than some of the others, but fits into the piece real well too. It even hits a bit of a nutter drum n bassy breakdown towards the end of the track which is real fun. Like i'm not the biggest DnB fan but when there's a nice lick used well that fits with the... A Buffer On Board
2007-05-12 15:38:00 Yo, i thought i better mention that Buff Diss is writing for this blog now. He did the post before this one on tags and José Parlá, and also the post on the London Police vs Flying Fortress. Both have been mad, i recommend the read if you ain't already. But yeh, it ain't me who's doing them. Buffer will be taking over most of the art side of things on here from now on, as i got half of my art info from him in the first place, and he's much better with visuals than i am. This is proven by the motherfuckin-pimp-daddy-adicolors he did for me that are pictured above.Check his blogger profile here, and his flickr page here. I know he'll be doing a post in the coming week of where to check out some of his art al la blame it on the rain, and will also word you up about a Buff Diss scatter/D-Fro collabo al la federation square. José rocks oh.zee
2007-05-11 08:01:00 "I love the colourful graffiti - it's just that I hate those ugly tags everywhere. Why can't they just do the pretty stuff?"I love tags. The good, the bad and the wak. The fact they piss off baby-boomers is just an added bonus for me. Once you've seen enough tags familiar patterns start to emerge, styles of stroke and specific letterforms echo across the city. A great tag, be it the whole word or even a single letter, can make my day. Sometimes a crap tag can be just as good, the sheer wakness is refreshing - as in how the fuck did they come up with that awful 'e'... hang on, might just tweak that unique shape for myself... cheers! Whilst the tag is the simplest form of graff it is perhaps the most important - it?s the first step. The first decision to disobey and use the city as a canvas.José Parlá does beautiful tags. The long, slanting stems in his letters and the speed of application generate a classic density. When layered as many times as José does, the tags almost grow f... More About: Rocks
In House Friday
2007-05-08 17:27:00 Here's something good to start the night on friday. Yall know where degraves street is right? it's like opposite flinders street station, aka off flinders street. To get into this part, goto the fliders lane entrace, which is right next to what i remember to be a donut stand. Basically it's the tunnels that run under flinders street. There'll be gold coin donation drinks, so that means cheap piss. Also the artwork that i've seen i really like. Here's the blurb on the night: In House is a collaborative installation showing at Platform as part of the Making Space Program. Sections of period style interiors have been installed throughout the subway cabinets to accompany a collection of new paintings by artist/curator Christina Hayes. The show features VCA Production Graduates: Angela Grant, Danny Pettingill, David Samuel, Doyle Barrow, Esther Hayes, Evan Granger, Evan Joseph, Jemila MacEwan, Lucie Spargue, Melissa Page, and Peter Thwaites.for more info go here. Italy on Blast!
2007-05-07 04:03:00 Witness the slickness on this one. I came across Clark Able like just the other week, and was immediately taken back. PS he's also from italy... Like what the hells going on over there? they've got a serious fidget movement going on. I gotta make sure i visit that place when i get my arse outta oz.So Clark sent me a promo exclusively for the scatter blog, of the awesome track I Wanna. There may be a release in the pipelines, but for now there is nothing definate, so you're just gonna haveta keep you ear to the ground. A good way to do that would be to jump over to his myspace and check out some more tracks (Lemon Head is absolutely bumpin). Also there's a track on there called 001 (also an off tap tune), which i think is either a collaboration with, or by, this guy called Derek Wrong. Derek is also making some mad tunes. I havn't got any info on him really, all i can say is go and listen to some tracks on his myspace for some mad fidgety goodness on a more glitched out note. Yo... More About: Italy , Blast
Krazy Mama
2007-05-07 03:54:00 I just had to post this Krazy Fiesta track. Simply because of the fact that i've had it on repeat since i got it off discobelle the other day. I mean the original Lil Mama track is great, and i've been playing that since i got it, but this remix just flips it. Like pulls something i didn't nearly see coming. There's also a Krazy Fiesta official website where you can download this track and more for free like woah. Crookers - Funk Mudial #3
2007-05-04 11:18:00 These things are just too good. Man recordings is seriously bringing the pain with their funk mudial series. There's been a DJ Sanny Pitbull version, a Sinden and Count Of Monte Cristal version, which was off charts, and now are spilling more serious heat with a version from the scattermish bloooog loved Crookers. So far Tamborzuda and Soca Para do Ali Baba are up there as some of my favorite club bangers, like i'm playing them at almost every gig i play.Anyway not only are you getting worded up on the release in this post, Man Recordings has sent me an exclusive of one of the tracks for your listening pleasure in the form of the MC Leka track. Did i hear some gun-shots going off in the background? On top of that they've given me the ok to post a mash that i've been doing out live a bit recently. The release is due out June 11th as a special limited (only 300 pressings) release green vinyl, which you'll be able to order straight thru the Man Recordings website. On top of that t... 2007-05-03 14:08:00 I don't really listen to all the same hip hop i used to. I used to be well into the underground, love every bit of. But now it seems my interests are rooted elsewhere. I still listen, and hell i've always got time for Madlib. But i used to know it all, know all about it, and listen to all of it. Hell now, as you might tell from my posts, i've got my finger and head in so many other genres, i don't do nearly as much hip hop anything. I guess most of my hip hop these days is strictly for you to move your feet to.I thought i'd do a post to remind everyone that i havn't forgotten about my roots, and still one of my strongest influences. 2007-05-03 03:39:00 Looks like the Mehdi gig will be pretty boogaloo up in sydney, i'm still not sure where or how it's goin down in melbs. Anyway this post ain't about that. It's about the new Bang Gang blog. Yall know about Bang Gang right? The blog looks like it should be nice. They've so far posted some bootleg exclusives, a mix tape, and a medley preview to the new Bag Raiders EP. So that's a good start. Jaim-e Doom seems to be taking care of the writing. London Police and Flying Forts
2007-04-28 10:07:00 Melburn's savy beer pirates have been overwhelmed this month with back-to-back art shows. Mostly due to the No Comply festival which scatdiddy posted on earlier. One of the shows was the Melbs leg of the London Police vs Flying Fortress tour. Stoked to see these guys in action and got me some blackbook love too. I've been a fan of the London Police calligraphy characters for a while now but only recently found out they're actually done by a trio of guys based in Amsterdam. I wonder which one came up with the character and how they all agreed to use it. Confucius asks, "Is it a bite when there's permission?" More About: Forts , Lying

2007-04-27 06:32:00 Man i just had to post this. It's ripped straight from Mad Decent blog, big ups to devro! This was not only one of my favorite shows as a child (and now if it was still on tv... i should totally get the boxset dvds, there's heaps though), but my nickname has also been pigsy, and i always wanted that magical cloud. Gigs for the next few days in april
2007-04-26 05:50:00 First of all, i hate fucken internet browsers atm. Firefox has become shit and has some error where i can no longer download anything, and reinstalling it don't do anything. And internet explorer is shit and keeps crashing. Like it did when i was about to post this post. So his a quickened version of what i was gonna say before. Which's prolly better anyway as i was rambling a bit. There's Sine Language event on tonite, you know the drill. There's also the opening night for Piracy at Horse Bazaar. They got some sick visuals going down (including a tv in the guys urinals for you to pee on), good djs etc. I'll be playing a baile bmore influenced rave set, early on (the opening set, 9-10) so it prolly won't be too intense. The first 100 people also get a pirate pack, i hope it has an eye patch in it, yaaarrghh. It'll be $8 too.Anyway look out for this crew as i'm sure they'll have many more pimped out nigts. 2007-04-26 04:59:00 You wish i did.So... this is a track sent to me by an ozzy rocker, aka a DJ from sydney, Woodie!. He does some mashes and beats and runs some nights over there it seems. They should be pretty bumpin i'd assume as the edits are nice. Lotsa raved goodness, fist bashing the air kinda stuff. I'll haveta check em out next time i head up there, especially if they play tunes like this green and red track. He also DJs with discomulisha, and together they just started up a blog, Ghettoruckus djs's, which also has this track posted there. Looks like they'll start some more posting too so could be an idea to keep an eye out.Anyway this is a re-edit/mash/mix/thingo that Woodie! did of of t-rem. I Dig
2007-04-23 04:45:00 Damn i've been look for this song for ages. It's the first track off that crookers mix tape which has been overplayed in my car. I could never work out who it was, and always got different suggestions that wern't right when i asked about the track id.I actually managed to stumble on it by chance. I was listening to a CD that has the title of Riton on it, but it's all like rock n stuff. The cd is homies and homos, the vocals on angerman are by Luca Santucci. Well i spose it's not completely rock, it's still trippy and electronic, but i didn't realise Riton leaned on that tip, but i don't know heaps about him so how would i know. But yeh i recognised the vocals, and then had a track name and could track down remixes. And came across the one i've been looking for, which was by that dubsided kid Jesse Rose.Anyway the remix is killa, the original is alright too actually so check that too. But remix is a track that shows you why so many DJs love Jesse Rose. Personally some of his...

This is really just a good excercise in reminding us just how talented Sind en is. This guy has a good tasting palette for sick beats. He keeps it dirty and ghetto, and i love that shit. This track is like a kinda dirty hip hop to drum and bass kinda tune, just way more in the middle and not exactly that. Whatever it is i'm curious to see it go down on the dancefloor. It could turn certain people crazy. It's a real cheap buy as well. You can grab it over at Juno for like 3 pounds.Or you can get the digital download at 7digital.
