Aleks and The Drummer
2007-11-28 02:22:00 The Deuce Project computers were searching your primitive internet and came across a band called Aleks and the Drummer . Initially it was the jade-tone of the band members that caught the attention of Drekzor 9 (our monitor duty drone stuck with the task of tredging through your "myspace" database.) Mistaking the page as a distress beacon, we quickly learned that the beings actually purported to be the Earthlings known as Aleks andra Tomaszewska and Deric criss. These supposed"human beings," create music that is an interesting mix of live percussion and warm keyboards. The wobble in Aleks' vox is to die for. They are currently recording a new album with David Sitek of TV on The Radio fame. You will definitely be hearing more from us at Deuce Project Station once this album is released and in our hands. Can't wait until then? Good news for you. The band has songs available to listen to on their myspace site:http://www.myspace.com/aleksandthedr ummerAlso, The Deuce Project will be featu...
Mr. Fab/RIAA Megamix this Saturday! Plus: The Detholz Now!
2007-11-27 22:40:00 Things have been incredibly busy up here in the Deuce Project station. We are readying our special program that airs this Saturday featuring the work of Music For Maniacs Mr. Fab, featuring an exclusive 30 minute mix he did especially for our broadcast. We will be following that up with a look at the fabulous sci-fi themed tunes of RIAA. What more can you ask for? (This show will hopefully be available for download this Sunday, and, as almost always, will air on 89.1fm in Kalamazoo this Saturday)Impatient eh? Well, go check out Mr. Fab's fantastic blog hereThe Deuce Project is always looking for new music. Recently, we ran across the lovely band known as The Detholz! While their most recent work isn't as clearly sci-fi influenced, their first album is chock full of sci-fi goodness. Here is a picture of them bending light with sound as taken by Sarah Rhee Danyluk:The Dehtolz are extremely interesting and have a really transparent creative process. They keep an mp3 blog with extensi... More About: Riaa

Actually, pretty good stuff. Okay, now if you are wondering what Chocolate Rain is, it is the masterpiece song by Tay Zonday.Tay Zonday's Original:Chad Vader breaks it down: More About: Space , Chocolate Rain
Space Talk From Dimension Eugene (Updated Repost)
2007-11-20 05:47:00 I have posted links to this before, but Superdeluxe now has a nifty embed code that allows you to watch all of the Space Talk from Dimension Eugene episodes from the comfort of the Deuce Project Homepage. I love Eugene Mirman, though that is not the case for all.

Sculpting Space-time
2007-11-12 20:23:00 The Deuce Project research bots were combing your primitive internet's "google image search" to see if there were any developments in humans engineering Einstein-Rosen bridges. In the process, they came across this very interesting artist named Chris Dunseath. His work is rather beautiful, thus we felt we should share this finding. His current work is based on "frontiers in theoretical physics" as he states in the link directly below. Very cool stuff.http://www.broomhillart.co.uk/artis ts/chris-dunseath.htmlhttp://www.rbs.org. uk/cgibin/rbs_gallery.cgi?userid=102&lett er=Dhttp://www.axisweb.org/seCVPG.aspx?AR TISTID=5746 More About: Space , Time , Sculpting

It isn't all about music...
2007-10-24 22:02:00 A couple of weeks ago, Valve Software released their highly anticipated "The Orange Box." The Orange Box is a pretty fantastic compilation of games, bringing you Half-Life 2, along with Half-Life 2: Episodes 1&2, the multiplayer Team Fortress 2, and the game I've been waiting for: Portal Well, for those of you out there who didn't pick up the set, the good people at Armor Games have released a flash game based upon Portal. I'm not usually big on flash games, but I found this to be really entertaining. Enjoy!http://www.armorgames.com/games/por taltheflashversion_game.html More About: Music
The Heliostatic Sounds of October 21st
2007-10-22 08:13:00 Here is the link to the show as 1 mp3:http://www.megaupload.com/?d=41RAO180 I am incredibly busy this week, so I will probably only be putting the show out as a single mp3 this week. If anyone has problems with downloading the show, please e-mail me and I will fix the problem. This was a really fun show. It started off with a flood of requests. Most of them were fulfilled, all except the birthday request for Liz. Unfortunately, I left the Servotron album back on the ship, and all I had was a single song on my music playing devices. So, sorry about that Liz, but Curt wishes you well (though I think I lost my mind and said Kirk on air. Sorry about that Curt.)We also had a request for ST37 . I was unfamiliar with the band, but I ended up really liking the track of theirs I found. Thanks to the listener for that one!You might notice a few bits of static on this broadcast. I was having a bit of a connection problem on and off. I'm trying to figure out how to fix it for next week. Sorry ab... More About: Sounds , October , Elio

More articles from this author:2007-10-18 07:41:00 The poll shows that most people (okay...this is hyperbole since there is a sample of 4 I'm basing this on) prefer the show as one long mp3. I plan on doing two parts for future shows, but this week it just isn't going to happen. I apologize. If you REALLY want it, shoot me an e-mail and I'll split the file.
