this one's been hangin 'round for a few days. i just haven't wanted to push the 'olde' publish button for some intangiblereason; that selfsame ambivalence to which i previously referred, but then is this a fifty minute hour?however, unrelated to the music herein or the previous paragraph: here's to a girl not seen for the better part of 20 years *raises tea high in the air* (are we worse for it?) then suddenly a current photo in my email. (could wehave conceived of it then?) i thinkof all the fun times we had. i remember oncecoming home very late, muttering to myself, and here, startled by this beautiful girl crouched on the near frozen ground in front of my dark house. she wore red earmuffs! she was so unexpected, i was so very happy to see her; it seemed necessary that i see her in fact and she was there, and yes, and for that moment, at least, it seemed indeed everything was nearly right. i wonder did i tell her?the clash police on my backlove and rockets welcome tomorrow...

Some of these songs would really get on my nervesback when they were on heavy rotation on Mtv while I was waiting for something subjectively better to come on (usually I had to wait for Sunday night and "120 Minutes" to arrive). Now, as they have become period pieces for a nostalgic sojourn, I like them in their own way. In some cases the songs that I liked the least are now the best and most evocative of what must be the reminiscing neuro-chemicals.
