Still here? Good...A warm sunny welcome.. Above is Colin (Routh) Gibb, original Black Lace member, now living in Tenerife and still out on the road.Colin stepped in as a guest performer for us at 44 Regent st a few weeks back and had a great show, hardly surprising from someone who has done the Eurovision, TOTPs and toured the world, a lovely down to earth guy who performed all the hits and more...yes we all did Agadoo, Musicman and Superman'd the night away...and we even Wig wam bammed! Want proof???? take a look at this.....he he heGood EH?So onto other news....You may remember in earlier posts about our visits from the boys in blue and general complex complaints regarding the fun we have been having at 44 Regent st, well compromise is usually a good thing so here's the news regarding the changes at the bar where the evening entertainment in concerned.Firstly the general volume has been reduced, (no speakers on the terrace)music starts at 9pm with the themed quiz 9.15 till 10pm....

Hello and thanks for your patience, I seem to be saying this more and more but another busy few weeks has passed and what fun we have had, but I'm back making time to update you all. So first up, another one of our fabulous shows gets a mention, and a photie, its time to tell you about the lovely glamorous Sallyann , who appears fortnightly on Sundays, (opposite the brilliant Shelly) this lady has performed all over the world in pretty much every type of venue and her professional show shines with all the experience she has gained, she sings Motown, Soul, Pop and Reggae and really mixes it all up, and usually gets the audience up on their feet dancing. This is one show where there ain't no slowies...pretty much full tempo all the way and her time passes very quickly, if you haven't already had the pleasure, next time your in tenerife I recommend you check out her show and join in the party. Hello, sorry its been a busy week and I have struggled to get some time to add anything new, but here goes!Firstly and most importantly news of a charity fundraiser back in the UK in aid of the Amy May Robinson memorial fund at Binley Banqueting suite on the 21st September, tickets are only ten pounds each and as well as a great auction, DJ and fun, the Legendary Tenerife duo BWB, ( Brothers with Blend ) will be appearing, and if you don't already know these top guys are the winners of the "Tenerife Entertainment 2007 Best Group" category , I believe there will be other support acts too,so if you can get there I suggest you call JO on 07738 091234 to sort out tickets. Hi folks , sorry just a quick piece, have loads to add to the blog of late but very little time, fingers crossed tomorrow I can sit down and add some stuff.But I thought I´d share a piccy from Debbie & Hannah who regularly visit me and are huge RW fans, many of you will know how mad the drivers can be over here on the reef, people dont know how to use roundabouts, many Taxi drivers think they own the roads etc, and it amazes me that there arent more accidents but below I shall let Debbie share her story...thought id mail you to let u know what happened to us on our way home! We left our bungalow at 6pm on tuesday night and got in a taxi to theairport! luckily we got a steady driver, cus most of them are mad drivers! we had been on the motorway for about 2 mins when the taxi driver slammed hisbreakes on and screeched to a halt..... we looked up and the car in front had clipped a van in the fast lane which then spun round and hit the central reservation! it then burst into flames and ...

HiQuick enough? As promised here are some photos from Monday Nights brilliant Freddy Mercury and Queen Tribute , performed by Dave Varley. I have known of Dave´s Show on the island for around four years and have seen his show a few times, but when your working the circut its pretty hard to catch up with other shows, always crossing paths, saying hello but that's about it, so its been great taking on the role of compere at "44 Regent St" and having the opportunity of hand picking the cabaret shows for the week, Dave has very kindly stepped in on Monday evenings while Jawara takes some time off to rest his voice, something we all need to do over here as the climate isn't too clever with voices, dry, dusty...well it doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out equals voice damage, so I'm sure you will all be wishing Jawara well and when hes ready he will be back at the bar.So back to Dave Varley, a consummate professional, having come from performing at the working men's clubs of the U...

HIYou know sometimes I feel there is a lack of Pictures from my Robb ie Tribu te on this blog, the obvious reason is that its pretty tricky to take photos of yourself while on stage, so it was cool that at last weeks Regent St show the lovely Janet brought with her, her new camera, so here are the results, pretty nice I have to say. The show itself was going really well until the local boys in blue turned up, but as ever the pro, (lmao), I finished the set with quiet versions of "Eternity" and "Mr Bojangles", so it wasn't a disaster but it did dampen the atmosphere a little.We will be handing out personal headphones to everyone soon, so as the one miserable sod who calls the police at 10pm cause they want to go to bed is happy...all I can really say is start by closing your bedroom windows, then ask us to turn the already quiet music down, and if your still not happy feel free to call the cops...ya nut bag! HI!Getting impressed with my regular postings?...yes I can tell.I promised some piccys from last nights virgin appearance from Domin i c James (no relation btw) at "44 Regent St" who at times left me speechless...see pic 3 above, unfortunately getting round everyone with raffle tickets meant I only saw snippets, but everyone inside seemed to be entertained and he closed his show with Borat s tribute to his homeland with "Sweet Kazakhstan" I doubt that's how you spell it but heyho.I know some of you will know Dominic from his Tribute show to Ricky Martin and this is a fairly new show from Dominic, for sure though its funny and he also has a great voice,and has put alot of effort into its presentation so if you get the chance do check out his shows.Speaking of the raffle I had the pleasure of meeting "Harry" a mini David Beckham-alike..see picWho, as you can see by his face was concerned by the strange man with birdpoo on his head and microphone, but not quite as worried as his parents...

Another Great Performer to Check Out @ Regent St

Another spare moment to share with you some info on yet another one of the excellent performers appearing at 44 Regent St in Torviscas.Today its the turn of the One and Only Shelly, winner of so many Best Female singer awards she needed to move house!Shelly appears fortnightly on Sundays, and can sing anything you throw at her with great panache, from show tunes to Tina Turner, she also has a fabulous sense of humor which completes her well rounded professional show, shes on this Sunday the 12th so work her rota out from that!Last Monday also had an appearance from Dave Varley with his tribute to Freddie Mercury & Queen, he had the place rocking and we were rammed to the rafters (as another compere is famous for saying but their bar never is!, but we REALLY were, not a spare seat anywhere) he kindly covered the usual "Jawara" spot while he is taking a little break to rest is voice, and so that means we will have the Queen show next week too, so if you missed it make sure you book yo...

Hello everyone!Thanks for checking in once again, been having a great week here, have had to temporarily put my hotel Robbie Williams shows on hold, as the cover compere at "the street" has taken on more Radio work, so I am now at the bar Sat to Thurs 9pm onwards for the time being, fingers crossed the continuity just improves the week, well we shall see.Thought Id give a mention to one of our more recent cabaret additions to the bar, who has been going down a storm, Dave Tracey with his tribute show to Elton John, Dave has been on the reef for a few years now, and we have worked together in the past, he has done the opposite to me going from Compere to Cabaret, I introduce him as Entertainments most famous poofter, and he does sound so much like EJ, his hair looks like a wig but is in fact real, poor sod has to walk around all day like that! lmao.As I type his show is fortnightly Sat but as he is adding more material he will probably go weekly. Big Tim Lane @ Regent St

HolaLast week I and the bar had a pleasant surprise visit from Mr Big Tim Lane , who used to perform Wednesday Nights at 44Regent St, but returned to the UK to do warm up work for Anglia TV, i.e get the Audiences revved up and going for the TV show hosts etc, so as he made himself available to the bar while here for a weeks break, I jumped at the chance to at least have such a comedy legend one more time, so I gave up my Robbie spot to Tim and it was a fabulous evening, so much so the planned short RW spot didn't actually happen...oh well I´ll be back to normal next Thursday. Tim played to a full terrace , who left with aching sides and its easy to see why he´s such an in demand show all over the world.Thanks Tim from all of us at 44 Regent St

Hola Amigos!Thought I´d mention a little about some of the other Star Caberets down at Regent St, I have already praised Jawara and Charlie Hodge, so now its the turn of Voulez Vou, Sam & Lisa.ABBA has Always been a popular show here in Tenerife, but these Ladies are without doubt the best tribute version on Tenerife, and have excellent vocals, they also perform some of the less obvious songs, plus Ive been promised more, some new material and new costumes, and I cant wait for the Heavy Metal version of the show....anyway here are some pix from recent shows..Davido getting picked on by Lisa & Sam, while Stef was away on her Hen Night ,he told me he didn't like doing it , but He loved every minute of it, looking every part the glam rocker! Well it seems only right that as its been one huge party week, that I also share a few pictures from the night time entertainment at the bar-restaurant.Most of our regular shows added extra time to their performances , my personal thanks go to Jawara, Charlie Hodge as Neil Diamond, & Sam & Lisa from Voulez Vou.Below is Jawara, he had everyone clapping and dancing, plus a few old ladies wetting their knickers! Finally some time to update you, settling in as resident host and compere at 44 Regent St, all is good I'm pleased to be reporting! One Month on...

Hello AmigosWell is been a real busy month, not like its been too hard etc, sorting out quiz's, the new photo competitions etc, remixing cds and organising shows but I have been very happy with the first month as the resident compere at 44 Regent St and the audience feedback has been excellent too.Im still playing with various ideas, format etc but so far soooo good, but in my own opinion it will be getting even better over this coming month.Recently added to the week are the star caberets from Charlie Hodge with his Neil Diamond tribute and Jawara has appeared with his revamped Soul and Motown show, both have been very well received from the customer cheers and applause! as has the fabulous George Pena with his unique show, you gotta see him if you haven't, and if you have you will want to see him again!I received this photo from Phil "Johnny Wilkes" from the newly formed RWfanclub!Phil also had these kind words...."It was a pleasure meeting you last week...Suffice to say that yo...

HiI am pleased to share with you the news that I will be the new resident host/compere at 44 Regent St, having worked at the venue on a thursday night with the Robbie Show for the past three years, it also being the first venue that ever gave me the chance to try out my Robbie Show.Dont panic!!! Robbie still lives!! I have arranged my nights so part of my week retains the Robbie show at other venues too, so its the best of both worlds now!I will still perform the Robbie show at Regent St on Thursdays, the main reason for the change from myown point of view is that I am working on two new shows and this gives me a venue to try out the new material, so its all pretty exciting!I have also kept my RW shows at the "Irish Rose"tuesday, "Parque Del a Paz" Hotel sunday, plus one or two others but they still need fine tuning so tbc on them. Hello!Well it does seem that the double Aside "Ghosts"/"Place to Crash" will not see the light of day, which is in my opinion very very sad,as Robbies attention span is so short, its being skipped and the next single will be Rude Box released Sept 4.Some of you have sent emails saying how funny the granny vid was, rather than leving comments on site,so..well I guess you call it part2! it's here, I hope you are finding amusing/interesting clips on You Tube too!Shake your Rudebox.
