Maria Lucia Godoy - Maria Lucia Godoy e a Cancao Popular Brasileira e Napol
2008-01-19 05:43:00 When the first album by Maria Lucia Godoy was made available, I did not realize that people would give positive and enthusiastic feedback such like I have been receiving on emails and comment section. I think a new audience was created to Maria Lucia Godoy with her last releases, which includes myself.Last week I received notifications of a new website referring traffic to Loronix and for my surprise, it was Maria Lucia Godoy Official Website, a recently launched tribute to this great singer. It is an honor, Maria Lucia Godoy is a classical singer and having Loronix as a recommended site on their link section is something really beyond my current expectations. I urge Loronix to check Maria Lucia Godoy Official Website with lots of information on her career, photos and reviews, here (http://www.marialuciagodoy.mus.br/).This is Maria Lucia Godoy - Maria Lucia Godoy e a Cancao Popular Brasileira e Napolitana (1979), for Philips, featuring Maria Lucia Godoy performing on Side A a repert...
Disco de Bolso - O Tom de Antonio Carlos Jobim e o Tal de Joao Bosco (1972)
2008-01-19 02:52:00 Hello, good evening! This is so far the greatest zecalouro's mother finding. Actually, not a finding, she had this little recorded since 1972 and both did not remember. She found it inside a closet and called immediately to announce her finding. When I told her she had the first recording of Aguas de Marco, released on May, 1972, months before the "official" release at Matita Pere, she got really amazed and send it in the next day for us. This recording was released in Disco de Bolso magazine, a bonus recorded included in the anthological magazine Pasquim. Let's see. This is Disco de Bolso - O Tom de Antonio Carlos Jobim e o Tal de Joao Bosco (1972), for Zen, featuring the Side A with the first recording of Aguas de Marco and Side B with the first recording of Joao Bosco (probably unknown by that time), performing Agnus Sei. Aguas de Marco is very different from the version released in Matita Pere, it is faster than usual and Antonio Carlos Jobim seems to have a hard time trying to ...
Dom Um Romao - The Complete Muse Recordings (1990)
2008-01-18 05:52:00 Let's close this Thursday with another acclaimed artist with no solo album releases since January 16 2007, one year and two days, the Brazilian drummer, percussionist and composer Dom Um Romao, a important musician during the Bossa Nova years, taking part as sideman on several important albums, including the collaboration between Antonio Carlos Jobim and Frank Sinatra. By the way, Dom Um Romao seems to be a favorite artist of several Loronixers, his last release is among the top five of 2007, in terms of number of downloads by our community. Let's see. This is Dom Um Romao - The Complete Muse Recordings (1990), for Muse, featuring two Dom Um Romao albums recorded for Muse, Dom Um Romao (1972) and Spirit of the Times (1973), being the first new at Loronix and the second a repost made available in August 2006. The download package brings lots of details on both albums, including photos, such like this one in the left side of this paragraph. A constellation of Brazilian and American m... More About: Cord
Erlon Chaves - Banda Veneno Internacional (1972)
2008-01-18 03:20:00 Hello, good evening! I want to start today with the very successful formula of releasing an important artist with few albums available at Loronix or not released for a long time, such as we did with the great Dez Bilhoes de Neuronios LP by Paulinho Nogueira. It is time to get back our attention again to Erlon Chaves , last released on February 2006, almost a year. Erlon Chaves is a very important maestro, with several solo records and participations as arranger on other artists albums, such as: Elis Regina, Wilson Simonal, Geraldo Vandre, Alaide Costa and many others. Let's see. This is Erlon Chaves - Banda Veneno Internacional (1972), for Fontana, Philips subsidiary, featuring not credited musicians performing a repertoire of well-known international tunes, a choir using voice as instruments and lyrics on a few tracks. This is the first out of five albums in the same concept. Maestro Erlon Chaves arrangements to this series are based on funk music with influences of Samba and Rock. ...
Milton Banana Trio - Milton Banana Trio (1970)
2008-01-17 04:40:00 Hello, good evening! It has been a week of really hard working for this more than ever busy parrot, but it is always a pleasure to take out of nowhere an extra energy to reach Loronix, meet our community and turn a new page of the glorious years of the music from Brazil. Perhaps I should make like Chico Buarque and save some energy to Carnaval week. Anyway, I'm bringing something that I thought it would be something very difficult to happen again, a classic Milton Banana Trio Samba Jazz LP never made available at Loronix. Let's see. This is Milton Banana Trio - Milton Banana Trio (1970), for Odeon, an above the average Milton Banana Trio LP, equivalent to his best albums released on the mid 60's. Mestre Baden Powell wrote a very nice liner notes and if I'm not wrong, delivers a short speech at track 01 - Vou Deitar e Rolar (Quaquaraquaqua) (Baden Powell / Paulo Cesar Pinheiro). This is something to be confirmed, since it is my personal opinion. I could not find any mention on Bra...
Bola Sete - Bola Sete at The Monterey Jazz Festival (1966)
2008-01-16 04:40:00 This is one a mandatory repost of a very important record, made available in the very first beginning of Loronix. I was waiting for this moment for months, Bola Sete is one of the greatest Brazilian musicians and it is important to start this year showing one of the best releases from this great artist. Let's see. This is Bola Sete - Live at The Monterey Jazz Festival (1966 ), for Verve, recorded nine months after Jimi Hendrix Monterey's concert in September 1966. I'm making available later Verve CD reissue with tracks 04, 05 and 06, not released on the original vinyl first issue. Additionally, a panorama of five pictures from Bola Sete Monterey Jazz Festival concert taken from Bola Sete Official Website, owned and maintained by Bola Sete's wife is also shown below. Tracks include:PersonnelBola Sete(guitar)Sebastiao Neto(bass, percussion)Paulinho da Costa(drums)Track List01 - Manhã de Carnaval Medley02 - Soul Samba (Bola Sete)03 - Flamenco (Bola Sete)04 - Spoken (Introduction) (B...
Maria Bethania e Caetano Veloso - Ao Vivo (1978)
2007-12-10 05:46:00 It was very hard to decide this closing post. We have been on a safe course of posts and reposts of classic albums from the golden age of Bossa Nova, such like yesterday's Alaide Costa and previous Quarteto em Cy with Tamba Trio, Nara Leao and Edu Lobo with Tamba Trio, anthological albums by legendary artists. However, it is now time to advance a decade and check something very solid from the 70's. I hope you get pleased with my choice, as I got really amazed with Maria Bethania live performance when I took this album for a spin this afternoon, and she duets with his well-known brother, Caetano Veloso . Let's see. This is Maria Bethania & Caetano Veloso - Ao Vivo (1978), for Philips, recorded live in Canecao nightclub, Rio de Janeiro. I saw several Caetano Veloso concerts and I could remember this one. This is such like a rehearsal between brothers in their places. My highlight goes to 07 - Leaozinho, perhaps I was used with Caetano Veloso interpretation for this song and Maria...
the POP's - Na Base do Iê, Iê, Iê (1966)
2007-12-10 00:00:00 Hello, good evening! I'm really surprise with the feedback given by other bloggers and website owners to the last Christmas album by The Pop's - Feliz Natal (1969). Friends like Cool-Mo-Dee, Can't Get it Out of my Head and FaLaLaLaLa created posts about The Pop's Christmas album. By the way, FaLaLaLaLa is a great website that has a special mission; to preserve the memories of Christmas vinyl past and every end of year comes with great things. That's why I'm making The Pop's debut LP, requested by many Loronixers. Let's see. This is the POP's - Na Base do Iê, Iê, Iê (1966 ), for Equipe, featuring instrumental rock renditions of Brazilian standards, Beatles and their own compositions, featuring also two nice medleys with Cirandas and Iê, Iê, Iê music, according with the POP's definition. The back cover brings credits to the POP's members, a quartet of bass, guitar, rhythm guitar and drums, as described at personnel listing. Tracks include:the POP'sSilvio Jose(guitar, z...
Alaide Costa - Alaide Costa (1965)
2007-12-09 05:56:00 Alaide Costa is celebrating her birthday today, December 08 and this is Loronix homage to this very important Brazilian singer. Thanks to several friends who sent emails remembering Alaide Costa's birthday, including an anonymous friend that left a message on our last Alaide Costa post, Alaide Costa & Oscar Castro Neves (1973). Actually, I was thinking about reposting this album, it is an essential and was my first vinyl transfer. I think there is a lot to improve there. Anyway, better making later this month, since we have this one, which is also a real treat. Let's see. This is Alaide Costa - Alaide Costa (1965), for Som Maior, with several renowned musicians backing up Alaide Costa in this session, such as Oscar Castro Neves, Jongo Trio, Laercio de Freitas, Erlon Chaves, among others. Alaide Costa performs a really nice repertoire, including songs by Marcos Valle, Oscar Castro Neves, Walter Santos, Joao do Vale, Tuca, Dulce Nunes, Chico Buarque and Paulinho Nogueira, also pl...
Jair Rodrigues - Jair (1967)
2007-12-09 03:13:00 I have been skipping this album every Saturday. I always thought Loronix had several Jair Rodrigues albums and I decided to check today how many are available and I could Find It only four albums. Jair Rodrigues is really appreciated, deserving a better coverage at Loronix. He released more than 30 LPs on a career that started in the early 60's and spans decades. By the way, today is Saturday and it is Samba time at Loronix. Let's see. This is Jair Rodrigues - Jair (1967), for Philips, released just after a very successful series of three albums recorded with Elis Regina, Dois Na Bossa volumes 1, 2 and 3. Jair (1967) never had a CD reissue and little I know about it, Philips did not credit musicians and arrangers. Tracks include:01 - Triste Madrugada (Jorge Costa)02 - Camará Ê (João Mello / Lindolfo Gaya)03 - Onda Jovem (Aldacir Louro)04 - Meus Cabelos Estão Pintando (José Messias)05 - Flor da Avenida (César Roldão Vieira)06 - Velho Realejo (Custódio Mesquita / Sady Cabral)...
Video Challenge | Who is the mysterious singer, the band and drummer?
2007-12-09 00:55:00 Hello, good evening! Let's make such like yesterday, starting this Saturday with a video challenge game. The mission seems to be quite impossible this time. You will have to identify the mysterious singer, the band name and also the drums player. I hope I'm not wrong, but there is a nice surprise with this challenge.Hope uEnjoy! Joao Gilberto, Sylvia Telles & Dick Farney - Joao Gilberto, Silvia Tell
2007-12-08 04:31:00 This is a very interesting compilation sent by Dona Iara that it is not listed on any discography, at least the ones that I could check. By the way, several compilations were released in the late 80's and most of them are pretty unknown. I don't know if it is a matter of limited editions, but they are really worth checking. This LPs were recorded in the turn of the shift between vinyl to CD and they have a pretty good sound. This one is really obscure featuring remastered tunes of three great artists. Let's see. This is Joao Gilberto, Sylvia Telles & Dick Farney - Joao Gilberto, Silvia Telles & Dick Farney (1988), for EMI-Odeon, perfect for those who are giving the first steps towards Brazilian music and want to have in a glance Bossa Nova cuts from three legends. These recordings range from 1957 to 1961, as detailed on track list. Tracks include:01 - Desafinado - JOAO GILBERTO (1958)02 - Dindi - SYLVIA TELLES (1959)03 - Este Seu Olhar - DICK FARNEY (1959)04 - O Barquinho ...
Video Challenge | Who is the mysterious singer?
2007-12-08 03:39:00 Hello, good evening! Just a quick challenge game while the music is being prepared. This is a very nice piece of video taken from a Brazilian movie recorded in 1958. Your mission is to identify who is this mysterious singer. Actually, I don't have a clue who is he, but the video is so nice that probably the answer will come very fast.Hope uEnjoy! Jorge Ben - O Bidu | Silencio no Brooklin (1967)
2007-12-07 04:34:00 Loronixers always make nice recommendations and I use to save all hints on a hunting list. Perhaps I need to make this hunting list public to the community. This album is a perfect example, it is a long time request and perhaps many friends are waiting for it. This post came to life with the help of a contributor that really rocks, AdHoc. I had the chance to take it for a first listen an hour ago and I admit that I'm really amazed with this album, reference and acclaimed by several important artists, such like Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil. If you were waiting for this one, thanks to AdHoc for making our waiting over. Let's see. This is Jorge Ben - O Bidu | Silencio no Brooklin (1967), for Artistas Unidos / Rozenblit, made available by AdHoc's 1987 Atoll Music CD reissue. Perhaps I'm the last on earth who do not know the meaning of this album title, O Bidu | Silencio no Brooklin, but it does not matter since we have a great record here. Jorge Ben is backed by The Fevers, which ...
Olivia Byington - Identidad (1982)
2007-12-07 03:49:00 Hello, good evening! Let's start today with he album scheduled to close the day, a major change on our agenda for this Thursday and you will understand the reason later tonight. This is an artist that I learn to respect and admire this year with the help of Loronix. I'm sure we have many others friends in the same situation. Olivia Byington LPs are really nice to hear and she always makes something different on each other. Let's see. This is Olivia Byington - Identidad (1982), for Som Livre, recorded between July and August of 1982 in the city of Havana, Cuba. According with Olivia Byington liner notes, she went to Cuba on year earlier to perform at Festival de Varadero, being invited to record this album one year later. I'm not sure about the availability of personnel information for this session; the album only brings references to the participation of Pablo Milanes and Frank Fernandez, Emiliano Salvador, Jose Bornot and Poveda as arrangers. The repertoire features a blend of B...
Orquestra Armorial de Camera - Gaviao (1976)
2007-12-06 05:35:00 A very good friend recently recommended this orchestra and I cannot believe that I could live without. Orquestra Armorial de Camara was nested inside Movimento Armorial, created at Northeast region by Ariano Suassuna and Cussy de Almeida, which is the leader of Orquestra Armorial. The movement was created with the orchestra in 1970 and Continental recorded the first album in 1975. Orquestra Armorial is acclaimed worldwide and it is very connected with the Northeast culture and something really unique, different from everything that you heard before at Loronix. Let's see. This is Orquestra Armorial de Camera - Gaviao (1976), for Continental, the third out of four albums released in a short period of five years, from 1975 to 1979. I'm really excited with this album and I could not make a satisfactory research on the orchestra and Cussy de Almeida. This should not be a major concern since Loronixers are invited to append additional information at comments section. Tracks include:Perso...
Claudette Soares - Voce (1974)
2007-12-06 03:37:00 Hello, good evening! Claude tte Soares recorded her first 78 rpm in 1954, after starting her career on Radio, being recognized as the Princezinha do Baiao for her performances as a duo with Luiz Gonzaga, The King of Baiao. Later, she left the Baiao genre in the early 60's to record her first LP for Mocambo, Claudette e a Dona da Bossa (1964). Since this debut LP recorded more than 40 years ago, Claudette Soares has an active recording career, performing until today. Let's see. This is Claudette Soares - Voce (1974), for Odeon. Although listed as "Voce" on every website I could check, the only reference to the word "Voce" is track 07 - Voce, by Roberto Carlos and Erasmo Carlos. Claudette Soares delivers a repertoire of ballads and romantic songs with her delicate interpretation and sweet voice. Maestro Jose Briamonte plays a major role at Voce, delivering arrangements and musical direction. Tracks include:01 - Proposta (Roberto Carlos / Erasmo Carlos)02 - Fraqueza (César Costa Filho... Participe do Musicos do Brasil | Uma Enciclopédia
2007-12-05 04:41:00 Amigos, Loronixers, boa noite.
Music Video | Elizeth Cardoso & Raphael Rabello (1989)
2007-12-05 04:06:00 This music video features an excerpt of a concert performed in Rio de Janeiro, September 1989 by Elizeth Cardoso and Raphael Rabello, which is in my opinion, one of the greatest music video available at Loronix. They recorded together a truly amazing album, which is the last album and the last performance by Elizeth Cardoso that passed away a couple of months before this concert in May 1990. This is a long video with 14 minutes running time, starts with Raphael Rabello performing solo before Elizeth reaches the stage to prove that she was really one of the greatest Brazilian diva. Really overwhelming.Hope uEnjoy! More About: Video , Music , Music Video
Turibio Santos - Choros do Brasil (1977)
2007-12-05 03:49:00 Hello, good evening! Here we go on another Turibio Santos release, one of the great surprises and a great lesson learned this year at Loronix. Turibio Santos is truly a worldwide acclaimed musicians, much more than I thought. Every out of print album by Turibio Santos creates a great response by Loronixers, in terms of feedback given and number of downloads. This one is really special and for my surprise, never had a CD reissue. Let's see. This is Turibio Santos - Choros do Brasil (1977), for Tapecar, which is Turibio Santos first album dedicated to the Choro genre, and with most of the repertoire based on compositions by the acclaimed Joao Pernambuco. Raphael Rabello, Jonas, Joao Pedro and Chaplin, top-notch Choro musicians, back Turibio Santos. I think this should be a real treat for everybody. Tracks include:PersonnelTuribio Santos(violao)Raphael Rabello(violao 7 cordas)Jonas(cavaquinho)Joao Pedro(violao)Chaplin(percussion)Track List1. Dengoso (João Pernambuco)2. Graúna (João ...
Elis Regina - Elis Especial (1968)
2007-12-04 04:57:00 Hello, good evening! I'm ill, but fine. It is 2 a.m. right now and I slept the last 6 hours, nice sleeping, I feel like waking up in the morning. I took a glass of milk and came to see what's happening with Loronix. I wish I got sick more often, yesterday, we had a really solid day with several new visits above Loronix average. This community is really amazing and keeps growing every time. That's why I decided to make this unique post as homage to our community. I cannot research this album and I need to be straightforward, but Elis Regina is self-explanatory and it has been a very long time since we made one of her career LPs. Let's see. This is Elis Regina - Elis Especial (1978), for Philips, featuring arrangements by Maestro Erlon Chaves and some anthological Elis Regina cuts, such like track 09 - Upa Neguinho. Perhaps tomorrow I can be 100% to spend a nice evening with you. Tracks include:01 - Samba do Perdão (Baden Powell / Paulo César Pinheiro)02 - "Tributo a Tom Jobim" V...
Quarteto em Cy / Tamba Trio - Som Definitivo (1966)
2007-12-03 15:55:00 There is no much to say about this reposting, rescued from June 2006, with the files hosted at the old Rapidshare.de and probably out of the sight and reach of many Loronixers. Such like Edu Lobo - A Musica de Edu Lobo por Edu Lobo (1963), Tamba Trio proves to be also a great backup band, this time with the Girls from Bahia, also known as Quarteto em Cy and their second career album. Let's see. This is Quarteto em Cy / Tamba Trio - Som Definitivo (1966 ), for Forma. Luiz Eça delivers instrumental and vocal arrangements for Quarteto em Cy. Do not miss Vinicius de Moraes liner notes at the back cover, now included as part of the upgrade. This is another of those mandatory and self-explanatory releases. You cannot go wrong with Som Definitivo. Tito Madi - A Fossa Vol. 2 (1972)
2007-12-03 03:51:00 Let's start the music showing the second out of the four albums recorded by Tito Madi on his "A Fossa" sequel. The other three volumes were made available during this year and they had a nice response from Loronixers. This is a great series, but the name "A Fossa" does not help much. Tito Madi performs a great repertoire on all these four LPs, including artists that were just appearing to public by that time, such as Secos & Molhados. Let's see. This is Tito Madi - A Fossa Vol. 2 (1972), for London. This cover is great, including the back cover with Tito Madi as a giant among the girls, but I still prefer the one made for the first volume, the pink one also released on different colors on top of the same artwork. Tito Madi performs some of his own compositions, Bossa Nova standards and a very nice Caetano Veloso composition, Coracao Vagabundo. Once again, personnel listing is not credited. Tracks include:01 - Chove La Fora (Tito Madi)02 - Minha (Francis Hime / Ruy Guerra)03 - P...

Caetano Veloso e a Outra Banda da Terra - Muito Dentro da Estrela Azulada (
2007-12-02 05:41:00 It is great to see Caetano Veloso again at Loronix, and it is fantastic to see Caetano Veloso with an album that had a tremendous influence on my choices on music and on choices of the friends I use to make music together in 1978. Muito is not among Caetano Veloso albums that everybody acclaims, but it has very beautiful moments, especially on tunes like Ca-Ja, Muito and Sampa, probably, the most successful songs that came out of Muito. Let's see. This is Caetano Veloso e A Outra Banda da Terra - Muito Dentro da Estrela Azulada (1978), for Philips. I forgot to say something about this cover in the last paragraph. Dona Cano is the name of the old lady with Caetano Veloso and also her mother, really awesome cover. Muito has A Outra Banda da Terra, which is Caetano's support band in the 70's and 80's, featuring Arnaldo Brandao, a great guy and a great bassist that I had the chance to meet and take classes. Anyway, I will let you with Caetano Veloso during this Sunday, combined with ...
Nelson Cavaquinho - Serie Documento (1972)
2007-12-02 03:21:00 Hello, good evening! It was very silly of mine to keep this album for months without taking it for a hearing. I bought this one on those cheap bargains and I thought -- and probably the storeowner also -- it was a compilation of early Nelson Cavaquinho songs released by RCA Victor in the late 70's. I was wrong and I knew I was wrong this week when I took it for a spin and noticed that all tracks are from the same session. What a session by the way. This is the second Nelson Cavaquinho career LP at Loronix and it is also very, very, very good. Let's see. This is Nelson Cavaquinho - Serie Documento (1972), for RCA Victor. This "Serie Documento" title is the root cause of the confusion. Anyway, Nelson Cavaquinho is self-explanatory and you should not skip this one. Sergio Cabral liner notes says something really correct, you should take this album and also Nelson Cavaquinho not as a singer with beautiful voice and easy songs, he is not for beginners, but Nelson sings with his soul, he...
Joao Bosco & Aldir Blanc - Nova Historia da Musica Popular Brasileira (
2007-12-01 04:23:00 Here we go on another Nova Historia da Musica Popular Brasileira album, a series that Loronixers always give good feedback. Loronix is not aiming to release the whole set of albums, but the ones that really worth our attention, such like this one, featuring this very important duo of Brazilian songwriters. Let's see. This is Joao Bosco & Aldir Blanc - Nova Historia da Musica Popular Brasileira (1976), for Abril Cultural. Different from yesterday, where Sergio Ricardo performed all songs, we have special guests at this edition, Elis Regina, performing three tracks and Ademilde Fonseca. Actually, it is impossible to address Joao Bosco and Aldir Blanc without opening a full chapter for Elis Regina, she was certainly the most important interpreter of their compositions. Tracks include:01 - Agnus Sei (João Bosco / Aldir Blanc) with João Bosco02 - Bala Com Bala (João Bosco / Aldir Blanc) with Elis Regina03 - Títulos de Nobreza (João Bosco / Aldir Blanc) with Ademilde Fonseca04 - ... The Pop's - Feliz Natal (1969)
2007-12-01 01:04:00 Hello, good evening! We are not in December yet, but for zecalouro today is Christmas. My mother had a serious broken harm a couple of weeks ago, very serious; it was that kind of broke where the bone goes outside the body. She went to surgery to put pieces of metal and today she took out those rigid parts to sustain the metal and the doctor said that everything is all right. That's amazing! Better celebrate this anticipated Christmas with one of Mom's finding. Let's see. This is The Pop's - Feliz Natal (1969), for Equipe, featuring instrumental rock renditions of Brazilian and international well-known Christmas songs. Very dancing and tiny session with only 26 minutes running time. Do not wait for Christmas time, you will have a lot of fun with Feliz Natal, they make me laugh out loud with the arrangements created for these tunes. Tracks include:01 - Noite Feliz (Mohr / Franz Gruber / Adpt. Simões)02 - O Tannenbaum (Tradicional / Adpt. Simões)03 - Valsa da Despedida (M. Curtis...
Baden Powell - Samba Triste (1989)
2007-11-30 02:29:00 I think AdHoc will be taken by surprise with this post that has several elements of his contributions. This CD was issued in France, 1989, and nowadays is a very hard to find album, since it never had a reissue since them. I'm really glad to make this album available, the last Baden Powell career album at Loronix was made available in the beginning of July by one of those fantastic contributions by Caetano Rodrigues, a five months hiatus. I think Loronixers will be pleased with this one. Let's see. This is Baden Powell - Samba Triste (1989), for Accord, featuring two Baden Powell records in one, Samba Triste Vol. 5 (1975) and Tristeza (1976). I can't make better than Brazil-on-Guitar, which is the best-known resource to Baden Powell music. I'm taking BOG reviews on Samba Triste Vol. 5 and Tristeza to guarantee a flawless Baden Powell release at Loronix. Do not miss Brazil-on-Guitar at http://brazil-on-guitar.de.BOG Samba Triste Vol. 5 (1975) review:"BrazilOnGuitar says: Samba Tri...
Os Cariocas - O Melhor de Os Cariocas (1989)
More articles from this author:2007-11-30 00:02:00 Hello, good evening! We were informed by cvllos that Jedir Pimentel has passed today. Jedir Pimentel had a major participation on bringing Os Cariocas together on a recording studio after an hiatus of 24 years, started with their last release for Philips in 1966, until the first after many years, in 1990 for Som Livre, Minha Namorada. This is Loronix tribute for Jedir Pimental and his passion to Os Cariocas and Brazilian music. This is Os Cariocas - O Melhor de Os Cariocas (1989), for Philips, featuring "the best of" Os Cariocas on their Philips years, four albums, being the first released at 1963, and the last in 1965. For reasons that I could not check, O Melhor de Os Cariocas does not includes their last Philips release, Arte / Vozes (1966). Anyway, if those albums are fantastic alone, a compilation with remastered songs taken from them should be really worth checking. Tracks include:OS CARIOCASSeverino Filho(piano, instrumental and vocal arrangements, vocals)Badeco(violao, vocals... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 |
