Orquestra de Lyrio Panicali - Nova Dimensao (1964)
2007-09-15 11:02:00 I've been thinking a lot on the right approach to this post. This record is probably among the top five albums available at this website and I feel in the obligation to be straightforward, making sure you do not skip this one. Unfortunately, there are some pitfalls that can cheat you and we need to avoid, such as:1) Do not take it as another orchestra album.2) Do not take it as another orchestra album with Bossa Nova standards.3) Do not think I'm crazy, everyone who listens agrees with me.This is Orquestra de Lyrio Panic ali - Nova Dime nsao (1964), for Odeon. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I will file Nova Dimensao as Samba Jazz, instead of Orchestra. This is truly in the Samba Jazz style with a drummer playing such like Edison Machado, Milton Banana or any other drummer of instrumental trios from the 60's. Anyway, I think I could write several paragraphs of text covering each different and unique aspect of this album, but I will let you go for your weekend with the very good compa... More About: Mens
Francis Hime - Sonho de Moco (1981)
2007-09-15 04:34:00 I like Franc is Hime, although I'm not versed on his vast discography, being only a careful listener of the albums available at Loronix, Francis Hime - Francis Hime (1973), a masterpiece and Francis Hime - Se Porem Fosse Portanto (1978). Francis Hime is a gifted musician, arranger, composer and singer and uses to deliver all this elements on his albums, which is his strength. This is Francis Hime - Sonho de Moco (1981), for Som Livre, featuring the very special guest Maria Hime, the vocal group Boca Livre and Milton Nascimento. Francis Hime debut LP is really hard to beat, but this one really worth the attention. Personnel listing features a constellation of musicians, including Wilson das Neves, Jacques Morellenbaun, Nelson Angelo, Novelli, Chico Batera, Ed Maciel, Neco, Dino 7 Cordas, Formiga, Marcio Montarroyos, Maurilio da Silva Santos, Robertinho Silva, Oberdan, Luiz Alves, among many others. I'm asking the excellent Discos do Brasil for help with personnel listing, here. Track...
A Cor do Som - Transe Total (1980)
2007-09-15 01:47:00 A couple of weeks ago we released an album of a Brazilian instrumental jazz fusion band recorded in Montreux Jazz Festival, by that time, I though that A Cor do Som was retired since their last album released in 1986, but I heard they are back to business and had already recorded a DVD. Many friends in Brazil of my generation have very good memories of this band and I think we will not go wrong with them to start today. This cover is all about the new Loronix design with a logo full of colors. Let's see. This is A Cor do Som - Tran se Total (1980), for WEA. Perhaps the most successful album released by A Cor do Som, featuring tracks with lyrics and some instrumental themes, which are the ones that I like most. The tracks with lyrics were blockbusters in 1980 and my highlights go to O Palco, the definitive rendition of this Gilberto Gil song, Zanzibar and Semente do Amor. Transe Total has the participation of Nivaldo Ornellas, Oswaldinho do Acordeon, Mauro Senise, Jorginho among many ...

Clara Nunes - Clara Nunes (1973)
2007-09-14 07:38:00 I was saving this post for some of those Loronix Samba Saturday, but I think it will fit very nice today, such like an amulet to bring lucky and keep the Murphy Law away from my computers for a while. This album is truly beautiful, starting by the cover artwork, showing a painting of Clar a Nunes made by Luiz Jasmin. Sometimes these covers are so great that I cannot resist showing the opposite side together with the front side. Let's see. This is Clara Nunes - Clara Nunes (1973), for Odeon, pretty unknown album, perhaps for being released between two great ones, Clara, Clarice, Clara (1972) and Alvorecer (1974). Clara Nunes had support of several Brazilian Maestros writing the arrangements, Laercio de Freitas, Carlos Monteiro de Souza, Helio Delmiro and Orlando Silveira. This is also the third album she made with direction of Lindolfo Gaya. We know everything about arrangers, but little about musicians, they are not credited and my searches did not give results. Tracks include:01 - T... More About: Lara
Doris Monteiro - 78rpm | Todamerica 5220 (1952)
2007-09-14 04:48:00 Here we go on the 78-rpm album of the day and the first in the format recorded by the legendary label Todamerica, active from the 50's until the early 70's. As far as I know, Todamerica released only in the 78rpm format, even after the popularization of the LPs. Todamerica made these beautiful labels with pictures of the artists, such as this one featuring Doris Mont eiro. This is Doris Monteiro - 78rpm | 5220 (1952), for Todamerica, featuring songs from the Brazilian movie Agulha no Palheiro. Orchestra backs Doris Monteiro. I'm not sure if Doris Monteiro was also an actress on this movie, it is something that really worth checking out. Tracks include:01 - Agulha no Palheiro (Cesar Cruz / Vargas Junior)02 - Perdao (Cesar Cruz)This is Doris Monteiro - 78rpm | 5220 (1952), at Loronix, here. (direct link)Hope uEnjoy! More About: Dame
Severino Araujo e Orquestra Tabajara - Brasil (1981)
2007-09-14 01:49:00 Hello, Good Evening! It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a parrot this week. Especially today, managing customers and also working on features to Loronix, amazing features by the way. What a day, I lost a computer an hour ago, not a big deal, but I will need to spend a lot of time fixing it. Life has been really busy down here.Anyway, better start with something very positive and happy, such like the legendary Orquestra Tabajara by the mighty Maestro Severino Araujo , leader and founder of Orquestra Tabajara. Let's see. This is Severino Araujo e Orquestra Tabajara - Brasil (1981), for Phonodisc. Orquestra Tabajara is active since 1937 and it is probably the oldest Brazilian orchestra in activity. I think Maestro Severino Araujo and his orchestra need to be released more often, with attention on their several 78 rpm as main performers or backing renowned artists. Tracks include:01 - Morena Boca de Ouro (Ary Barroso)02 - Despedida de Mangueira (Aldo Cabral / Ben... More About: Baja , Erin
The Seven Stars - The Seven Stars (1959)
2007-09-13 06:30:00 Here we go on the Para Dancar release of the day, featuring the first album of a group that was introduced with a contribution of the great Mauro R.V., which was not released at Loronix yet. The Seven Stars released three albums being Mauro's contribution their second. Let's check this first, making the one sent by Mauro later this month. This is The Seven Stars - The Seven Stars (1959), for Discobras. Little I know about this Para Dancar group that delivers really beautiful renditions of American standards. The album is an LP, but the running time is short as if it is a 10-inch album, with 23 minutes. The back cover brings an introductory text of The Seven Stars with a delicious English translation that really worth to be reproduced here. Tracks include:English Liner NotesHere is a band that represents the American Popular Music: "The Seven Stars". For its wonderful style, the consistent play of execution and beauty of the music played.Without intending to be classic, this band ha...
Raul de Barros - O Trombone de Ouro (1983)
2007-09-13 03:55:00 Gafieira is a Brazilian dancing style based on Samba that had a great popularity in the 30's to 40's in Rio de Janeiro, a time with no TV sets, iPods or video games. Raul de Barros is "O Rei da Gafieira" (The King of the Ballroom), being active since the 40?s. This is one of Raul de Barros latest albums and I would like very much that you send feedback on it. Let's see. This is Raul de Barros - O Tromb one de Ouro (1983), for CID, featuring a repertoire of classic tunes in the Gafieira genre, including the legendary Na Gloria, one of the greatest Raul de Barros compositions. I'm a big fan of the Gafieira style, some kind of soft instrumental Samba that is really delicious to hear. My highlight goes to 01 - Na Gloria, 03 - Copacabana, 04 - Doce de Coco... better stop here and take the whole track list as my highlight. Tracks include:01 - Na Glória (Raul de Barros / Ari dos Santos)02 - Pennsylvani 6-5000 (C. Sigman / J. Gray) - Tea For Two (V. Youmans / L. Caesar)03 - Copacabana (Jo...
Aracy de Almeira - 78rpm | Continental 16890 (1954)
2007-09-13 02:45:00 I think this picture with perfect and clean 78rpm labels is enough to understand that the great TNO, The Number One on 78rpm contributions, strikes again. TNO delivers another renowned artist that should not be left behind on our initial releases in the format. Thanks TNO.This is Aracy de Almeida - 78rpm | 16890 (1954), for Conti nental . Conjunto Continental backs Aracy de Almeira on side A while Abel e Seu Conjunto do the same on side B. Tracks include:01 - O Que Sera de Mim (Milton de Oliveira / Haroldo Lobo) with Conjunto Continental02 - Nao Acredito Mais (Polera / Herve Cordovil) with Abel e Seu ConjuntoThis is Aracy de Almeida - 78rpm | 16890 (1954), at Loronix, here. Sergio Mendes - Quiet Nights (1963)
2007-09-12 08:04:00 This is a special repost of one of the greatest accomplishes of Loronix. It is also a tribute to our friend Caetano Rodrigues, a great friend of mine that I could only have the chance to meet through our community. For those who does not know who is Caetano Rodrigues, he is just the greatest Bossa Nova LP collector in Brazil, blessing Loronix on an on-going basis with albums from his personal collection.I said before and I want to say it again, Caetano's contribution to our community is such like a once in a lifetime opportunity and this post is to make people understand - specially the new Loronixers - why Caetano is so important to Loronix by making his whole collection available to us to the love he has to the music from Brazil and the great sympath to our website. This is Sergio Mendes - Quiet Nights (1968), for Philips, one of the rarest Bossa Nova albums, never made available in CD. As I said, Quiet Night is being reposted to homage Caetano and also to address major improvemen... More About: Sergio Mendes
Sivuca & Toots Thielemans - Chiko's Bar (1986)
2007-09-12 07:22:00 I was looking for this album since Loronix beginning and I found it with cvllos on a given vinyl expedition last month. The price was 1 Real (US$ .50) and when you find something you want by this price you just take it with no checking. First thing I did when arrived home was to put it to spin and I got scared when I saw a blue Copacabana label in the center of the vinyl and the word of Bienvenido Granda as main performer.Parrots have no patience and are really focused. Then I remembered that someone sent it a long time ago as a contribution and I could not make it without the cover scans. That's why we have here a blend of my cover with the files sent by a friend that did a pretty nice work. Let's see. This is Sivuca & Toots Thielemans - Chiko's Bar (1986), for Sonet. I thought this album was a live recording of a concert at Chiko's Bar nightclub, but it is an studio session, part of a project called ?Rendez vous in Rio", developed by Sonet producer Rune Ofwerman. Dick Farney e Seu Quinteto - 78rpm Continental 16807 (1953)
2007-09-12 05:52:00 I'm glad and really proud with our community by making this post. It has been less than a week since we started showing 78 rpm recordings and this is the first contribution in the format. By the way, fantastic contribution with a superb ripping and magnificent label scans. This little and old record is in a really good shape. It seems our friend - let's call him as TNO - traveled back in time to get this record. Thanks a million TNO, you are The Number One in the 78 rpm format. This is Dick Farney e Seu Quinteto - 78rpm | 16807 (1953), for Conti nental , featuring Dick Farney and not credited musicians as a quintet, performing instrumental renditions of a Samba tune and a Choro written by Dick Farney. Tracks include:01 - Nova Ilusao (Luiz Bittencourt / Jose Menezes)02 - Joao Sebastiao Bach (Dick Farney / Nestor Campos)This is Dick Farney e Seu Quinteto - 78rpm | 16807 (1953), at Loronix, here. Quinteto de Dalton - O Melhor da Festa (1959)
2007-09-12 00:46:00 Hello, Good Evening! We are starting the day with an album that I was not taking in consideration to Loronix. I was not confident on showing an artist credited only as Dalton . However, a Google search for another artist made a reference to a page inside All Music (one of the greatest music portal at the Internet), showing a biography about Dalton, which is in fact Dalton Vogeler, grandson of the conductor Henrique Vogeler and son of the violinist Carlos Vogeler Gomes. It is amazing that AMG brings a biography of an pretty obscure musician such like Dalton Vogeler. He recorded only two LPs in the late 50's, being a very active musician in 60's, playing his sax and bass on many nightclubs, being also sideman of renowned musicians. Let's see. This is Quinteto de Dalton - O Melhor da Festa (1959), for International, featuring the sax of Dalton Vogeler with other four not credited musicians of his quintet. I recommend that you take a time to read Dalton Voleger in AMG, meanwhile, stay w... More About: Alton
Elizeth Cardoso - Retrato da Noite (1958)
2007-09-11 08:47:00 This is a mandatory repost of a really important album to Loronix, released in the very beginning of our community. This post made me understand what exactly I could make with Loronix and what would be the website in the future. However, this is not only personal matters, this LP is truly awesome and everything works fine here. Strongly recommended for those who did not find it on archives yet or those ones who wants to revisit this album with major music and artwork improvements. This is Elizeth Cardoso - Retrato da Noite (1958), for Copacabana. Little is know about this session and this is really disappointing. Elizeth is backed by a "Conjunto" with no credit to musicians. The guys from Copacabana did not care with technical information on releases. In the other hand, they were masters on cover artworks, look at this one, Elizeth Cardoso challenges us in front of a drink with diminished lights and wearing a red dressing in the same color of the red rose. Who can resist? Tracks incl...
Lina Pesce - Concerto em Ritmo (1963)
2007-09-11 07:57:00 Let's make a very different Para Dancar release today, pretty sophisticated by the way, featuring a Brazilian pianist and composer never introduced to Loronixers. I'm talking about Lina Pesce , perhaps the beautiful woman on this great cover artwork, but I'm not sure of it. Lina Pesce and Carolina Cardoso de Menezes are very similar artists, with Carolina being more identified as an instrumentalist while Lina Pesce as composer. Let's see. This is Lina Pesce - Concerto em Ritmo (1963), for Columbia, featuring orchestra with direction by Maestro Lyrio Panicalli. The second album recorded by Lina Pesce for Columbia, being the first dedicated to Lina Pesce compositions and Concerto em Ritmo, Lina Pesce renditions to classic music in Para Dancar style, both albums with orchestra directed by Lyrio Panicalli. I'm tracking down the first, it will be nice to hear Lina Pesce piano and Lyrio Panicalli orquestra playing Lina Pesce repertoire. Tracks include:01 - Balada Nº 2 (Franz Liszt)02 -... Os Cariocas - 78rpm | Continental 15893 (1948)
2007-09-11 04:28:00 I think friends are getting used as I'm used to these 78rpm releases, original scheduled to be a once in a week feature and now part of daily Loronix business as usual. It is very nice to show these albums and also very easy. As we are starting, there is always an opportunity to show a never released artist in the format and I'm trying to make only great names at this beginning, such as Os Carioca s.This is Os Cariocas - 78rpm | 15893 (1948), for Copacabana, a very old record featuring on side A, Nova Ilusao and a classic tune on side B, Adeus America. I think this one will be the most popular among the 78-rpm released so far. Tracks include:01 - Noa Ilusao (Jose Menezes / Luiz Bittencourt)02 - Adeus America (Geraldo Jacques / Haroldo Barbosa)This is Os Cariocas - 78rpm | 15893 (1948), at Loronix, here. Boca Livre - Bicicleta (1980)
2007-09-11 01:45:00 Hello, Good Evening! This is the second album by the Brazilian vocal group Boca Livre , a great improvement of what they have accomplished on their debut LP. Bicicleta has a better production and a very special guest on two tracks, Antonio Carlos Jobim. Let's see. This is Boca Livre - Bicicleta (1980), such as the first release, this album is an independent production, with no formal recording company association. Perhaps this is the reason for not receiving so far a CD reissue. I have this album since the release date and I got very surprised this week when notice Antonio Carlos Jobim participation. The Brazilian percussionist Nana Vasconcellos is credited as percussion direction and probably delivers percussion playing. My highlights are Antonio Carlos Jobim participation (both indicated on track list) and the song that gives the album title, Bicicleta, with a beautiful vocal arrangement. Tracks include:PersonnelDavid Tygel(viola, violao, vocal)Jose Renato(violao, vocal)Mauricio Ma...
Victor Assis Brasil - Esperanto (1970)
2007-09-10 07:49:00 I arrive home this week and found a package with this fantastic record inside, sent by a great friend of mine, cvllos, a great Loronixer that knows by heart the albums available at Loronix. He is also a great finder, we have been together on some vinyl searches in Rio and I have a lot to learn with cvllos. By the way, he celebrated his birthday in the past week and this is a late, but very important, birthday gift to cvllos, the Genius of Victor Assis Brasil .This is Victor Assis Brasil - Esperanto (1970), for Tapecar, produced and directed by Roberto Quartin, which is the guy who shows something to Victor on this back cover that really worth to be presented with the front cover. Esperanto is an outcome of the same recording session of Victor Assis Brasil - Jobim, which is the last Victor Assis Brasil at Loronix. Just like Jobim, Esperanto features a constellation of Brazilian musicians. I strongly recommend Esperanto, Victor shines with his sax, leaving space for others musician?s p...
Angela Maria - Sucessos de Angela Maria Nr. 3
2007-09-10 06:32:00 Today I spent a time with my mother; she was desperately waiting for a new and fresh album by Angela Mari a. That's what I did; I took Angela Maria - Angela Maria em Tempo Jovem - not available at Loronix yet - receiving back this 10-inch compilation that she had the chance to find near her place. Mom is a great finder, but she finds only her favorites. It's wise of her. Anyway, I have express orders to make it available today and I never use to ignore Mom's request. This is Angela Maria - Sucessos de Angela Maria Nr. 3 (no date), for Copacabana. This was probably released in the late 50's. As a compilation of previous released material, it is possible to identify the release date. However, it demands a lot of work and Mom said it does not matter. Angela Maria is backed by orchestra in most of the tracks and the exceptions, Betinho e Seu Conjunto and Orquestra do Sindicato dos Musicos Profissionais do Rio de Janeiro are indicated on track list. Tracks include:01 - Mentindo (Eduard...
Nilo Sergio - 78rpm | Continental 16085 (1949)
2007-09-10 04:13:00 Here we go on another 78rpm record, which is probably the most interest so far. This is Nilo Sergio, Musidisc owner, before creating Musidisc on his singer career. Nilo Sergio sings very well and in the old baritone style voice backed by Maestro Severino Araujo e Sua Orquestra Tabajara. This is Nilo Sergio - 78rpm | 16085 (1949), for Conti nental , featuring Cancao de Aniversario, which is the song used on Brazilian birthday celebrations before the adoption of Parabens Pra Voce, based on Happy Birthday to You written by the American sisters Patty Hill and Mildred J. Hill in 1893. Cancao de Aniversario worth the entire record, Maestro Severino Araujo delivers a military accompaniment that makes me laugh when I hear this tune. Tracks include:01 - Cancao de Aniversario (Jose Maria de Abreu / Alberto Ribeiro)02 - Falta-me Alguem (Pedro Caetano / Claudionor Cruz)This is Nilo Sergio - 78rpm | 16085 (1949), at Loronix, here. Jose Luciano - Jose Luciano, Seu Piano, Seu Ritmo (1957)
2007-09-10 03:21:00 Hello, Good Evening! Yesterday I was talking about statistics, numbers and how this parrot was a big fan of these things. I think I'm not alone on this. There is a page view counter on Loronix right sidebar that reached 1,000,000 page views today. I was not home and by the time I arrived, my mailbox was full of congratulations messages for such thing. Thanks, it is nice how friends like these numbers, specially Martoni, on a way I don't know how could capture the exact time the counter was showing 1,000,000. Thanks, Martoni, your screen capture is now part of my gallery.Anyway, the show must go on and I want to start today addressing many requests from the fans of Para Dancar style, they complain that I did not release the style in the last days. Let's see. This is Jose Luci ano - Jose Luciano, Seu Piano , Seu Ritmo (1957), for Copacabana, the first out of three albums released by the Brazilian pianist Jose Luciano for Copacabana titled "Seu Piano, Seu Ritmo". The first thing that c...
Maria Creuza - Maria Creuza (1972)
2007-09-09 07:48:00 I'm statistics driven parrot. I spend a time browsing numbers. I love these things. I like to see the numbers and understand what we have behind them. Mari a Creuza is a special case, in spite of no explicit feedback from Loronixers, her albums are downloaded by many friends, above the average of others. Perhaps it is her participation on La Fusa with Vinicius de Moraes and Toquinho, I don't know. Anyway, this is in response of the great feedback given to Maria Creuza, let's see. This is Maria Creuza - Maria Creuza (1972), for RGE. I was used with Maria Creuza releases for RCA and had a great difficult on finding info about this one. RCA Victor uses to enclose personnel information and sometimes even associates musicians with their participation on each track. You will see with the music that RGE do not give any kind of information, on back cover. That's why personnel is not credited this time, except by the participation of Sebastiao Tapajos, information available on both Side A ...
Lucio Alves - 78rpm | Continental 16995 (1954)
2007-09-09 05:44:00 I was not planning another 78rpm today, but when I decided to check the options available and Luci o Alves came to my hand, I could not resist. Anyway, Lucio Alves performs with orchestra lead by Severino Araujo two songs, Valsa de uma Cidade (Antonio Maria / Ismael Neto) and Velho Amor (Lourenco Leonardo / Olavo Bertoni). Tracks include:01 - Valsa de Uma Cidade (Antonio Maria / Ismael Neto)02 - Velho Amor (Lourenco Leonardo / Olavo Bertoni)This is Lucio Alves - 78rpm | 16995 (1954), for Conti nental , at Loronix, here. Sadao Watanabe - Elis (1989)
2007-09-09 03:00:00 Hello, Good Evening! Great time spent today in Rio de Janeiro receiving some Loronix friends from Sao Paulo. Sunny day we are having, such like summertime. Let's start today with a contribution sent by the friends from Sao Paulo and highly recommended. Let's see. This is Sadao Watanabe - Elis (1989), for BMG. Sadao Watanabe is a Japanese sax player with strong connections with the music from Brazil, releasing several albums dedicated to our country, most of them recorded here. This one is a perfect example, a tribute to Elis Regina featuring Cesar Camargo Mariano, Heitor TP, Paulinho Braga, Nico Assumpcao, Papeti and the most frequent Sadao Watanabe Brazilian collaborator, Toquinho as special guest on two tracks. I had a little time to hear this album and review it to Loronixers, but it is highly recommended by many reviewers and I cannot wait to take a second hearing. Tracks include:PersonnelSadao Watanabe(sax)Cesar Camargo Mariano(keyboards, arrangements)Toquinho (*)(violao, voic...
MPB-4 - De Palavra em Palavra... (1971)
2007-09-08 06:08:00 I don't have info available on Loronixers feedback to MPB-4; perhaps we did not release many albums or made wrong choices. I hope this one corrects any gaps Loronix has with this really important Brazilian vocal group. Thanks to Marcia Webber for showing zecalouro the way to this album, for sure one of the best ones released by MPB-4. I spoke with Caetano about this album and he gave an enthusiastic feedback, which is something that Caetano only gives to the ones that really deserves. This is MPB-4 - De Palavra... em Palavra... (1971), for Elenco. I?m only disappointed for not having additional information on this session that had Roberto Menescal playing the role of Production Director. The back cover also credits Magro as arranger, but it is not specific if he is also in charge of instrumental arrangements. The repertoire is beautiful, with songs that will keep inside your head after a first hearing. Tracks include:PersonnelMagro(voice, arrangements)Aquiles(voice)Miltinho(voice )Ru...
Luiz Bonfa e Conjunto - 78rpm | Continental 16432 (1950)
2007-09-08 03:32:00 I could not wait longer to show Loronixers our second 78rpm album. I though I would make it once a week, but you know me, I can't control the excitement with such things. So here we go on our second 78rpm album featuring another favorite of Loronixers. This is Luiz Bonfa e Conjunto - 78rpm | 16432 (1950), for Conti nental . Luiz Bonfa is backed by Conjunto and delivers a Choro on Side A and a Bolero on Side B, both written by Luiz Bonfa. Once again, direct link to the music is been provided. Tracks include:01 - Pescaria em Paqueta (Luiz Bonfa) - Choro02 - Uma Prece (Luiz Bonfa) - BoleroThis is Luiz Bonfa e Conjunto - 78rpm | 16432 (1950), at Loronix, here. (direct link)Hope uEnjoy!
Claudia - Deixa eu Dizer (1973)
2007-09-08 01:40:00 Hello, Good Evening! This is the first out of three non-working days in Brazil. Everybody left the city to quiet places, coming back on Sunday night or Monday. I like these big weekends, people leave to quiet places and Rio de Janeiro stays, how can I say, quiet. I took a time today to climb a military facility close to my place, which is Pedra do Leme. The place has a Fort with several cannons to protect the city. Obviously, the Fort is no longer working, but the military use to put some cannons in service once in a while, such as today. Wow, my ears still have problem by the cannon noise, but the day was really nice. You can follow this link to know more about the spot.Let's take advantage of these low traffic days to release some very old wants and needs of Loronixers, starting with this one that really worth your attention. This is Claudia - Deixa eu Dizer (1973), for Odeon. Little I know about this album, except it is the most successful LP recorded by this Brazilian singer, fe...
Zimbo Trio - Zimbo Trio (1978)
2007-09-07 08:10:00 I hope the problems that happened yesterday with the last post of the day are over, since this one really deserves a flawless exhibition. If you were looking for this album, you should say thanks to Loronixer Marcos, he was the one that told me this LP was a Zimbo Trio career album.Shame on zecalouro. He always thought this was a compilation with music taken from other records; perhaps this simple cover artwork was not inspiring enough to get my attention. Anyway, thanks Marcos, you made me understand that I had a Zimbo Trio career album that I never heard and also never released at Loronix. This is Zimbo Trio - Zimbo Trio (1978), for Clam / Continental, featuring Zimbo Trio original formation and several special guest of not, such as Heraldo do Monte and the son of the clarinetist Domingos Pecci, Eduardo Pecci, also known as Lambari from Quarteto Lambari. Pretty self-explanatory. I will let you with personnel listing and tracks. Um bom final de semana prolongado aos amigos do Brasil...
Ivan Casanova e Seus Conjuntos - Melodias Celebres do Cinema
More articles from this author:2007-09-07 06:46:00 Remember an album released in February 2007 featuring an organist known as Ivan Casanova that later on we realize it was Walter Wanderley? If you do not remember, just follow this link and you are set, here. I thought that was the only album recorded by this Ivan Casanova nickname at Imperial label. However, I found another one and I thought it was another great thing to have another never heard Walter Wanderley album.Unfortunately, no organ and no Walter Wanderley this time.
