2007-10-16 07:37:00 From BBC NewsPolice cancel Manchester concerts The Police have two other UK concerts scheduled this week Reformed rock band The Police have postponed two scheduled UK concerts because lead singer Sting is still suffering from a throat infection. The gigs - part of the reunited trio's five-month world tour - were to have taken place at the MEN Arena in Manchester on Monday (Oct 15th) and Tuesday (Oct 16th). The same ailment forced the group to call off two concerts in Germany (Mannheim Oct 10th & Dusseldorf Oct 13th) and another in Belgium (Antwerp Oct 9th)last week. Promoters Live Nation said it hoped to reschedule the gigs soon. The Police began their world tour in May and have been playing to sold-out houses ever since.
