These clowns take the pain from the inner-city streets of Los Angeles to exploit & prosper from like its all fun & games - Check this INCREDIBLE story in the LA Weekly on whats going on in Watts, CA. LA Gangs: 9 Miles and SpreadingIts a long story, but an excellent read on gang violence plaguing a small housing project that new rappers such as Jay Rock emerge from.We really live this out here and for someone like Baby & Lil Wang, or Jim Jones for that fact, to take that dilemma to make money or front like they are apart of it is just blashemous! This has been a terrible year for actual CD sales. The digital world has cut a chunk out of actually sales of CD's and the industry has yet to find a way to create the synergy between them and the digital divide. I will say that "Great" music, with marketing dollars and exposure behind them made off well (Akon, Kanye, 50, Amy Winehouse), while the rest were left to sink or swim... with a majority going with option #1. Alicia Keys is hurtin'em with big numbers due to a great album and radio support across the board. Rapwise, Jigga's album is trying to reach platinum, Scarface came in nice as well as DJ Drama. 2Pac's #'s were horrible... After months of speculation regarding the fate of The Fixxers’ debut Midnight Life , the group has finally decided to independently release the album via MySpace. The Fixxers, a duo made up of West Coast veterans Quik (formerly known as DJ Quik) and AMG, signed a single deal with Interscope Records back in March to release their song “Can U Werk Wit Dat,” which became a favorite on L.A. radio and was featured on the HBO show Entourage. While the album was expected to follow on Interscope during the summer, it never materialized.
