who hires the hirers?

That's a good question. Because if you think about it, a human resources professional knows everything he or she needs in order to get a job. They have the knowledge, so there must be a very low rate of unemployment for the human resources professionals (from now on HRPs).I've been in lots of job interviews and it's always the same. I don't get it. But curiously, I always pass the first interview, which is generally made by a HRP, but I never pass the next interviews. I thought it could be because of my long hair, 'cause people here in Peru use to have a very stupid philosophy, then I cut it. Same results.The fact is that just a few times I have felt that I was being evaluated. Really evaluated. But the most of the times, I feel like all is just a subjective decision. And I didn't feel the HRPs who evaluated me were really capable. There are just a few exceptions (so few that I remember the names of those HRPs),but the most of HRPs doesn't seem to be very smart people.Anyway,...

La banda argentina Panza, acaba de editar un disco virtual llamado Pequeños fracasos v2.0, el cual consta de nuevas versiones (acústicas) de temas de sus tres discos oficiales. El disco se puede descargar gratis, previo registro, aquí.En el disco se cambian un poco los roles de la banda. Franco, el bajista, toca el piano y Sergio deja su virtuosismo guitarrístico para tocar el bajo (aunque también mete algunas guitarras malabaristas). La percusión de Pablo es ahora más sutil y la voz de Mariana Bianchini ya no comparte el protagonismo con nadie. Es un disco excelente, en el que los temas se desnudan para mostrarnos su melodía pura, su armonía. La potencia que dejan libre los otros instrumentos es tomada por Mariana que hace de su voz un instrumento poderoso y versátil.Internet es quizá el mejor medio para publicitar una banda y Panza lo ha entendido muy bien. Korn goes unplugged

Is it really important to play an unplugged? I mean, an MTV Unplugged ? Maybe in the past. But now, any band can make it. It doesn't have a worth. So, the question is: Why Korn , a big band who has nothing to demonstrate, would want to play an MTV unplugged?The album is weird. There is some attempt to make a good work with the acoustic guitar, some kind of Flamenco stuff on the first songs. Although Munky is doing a good job, Head's guitar is missing. They need both on stage. They played Creep of Radiohead, but it didn't work. It's the worst song of the album. They also played In between days (with Robert Smith on vocals) in the middle of Make me bad.There are good versions though, there are Got the life, Blind or Freak on a leash, this last one featuring Amy Lee on vocals. This could be a really good version. Actually, it is but... it's censored. Yes, that's the MTV style. Those smart asses muted the voices every time they said fuck. Still raging!Now that we know that Audioslave has split up. It's cool to know that Rage Again st The Mach ine is back. The legendary band will reunite for only 4 shows this year. They were going to play only one show (at the 2007 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival) but they have added 3 more shows. Yes, you heard it right. The 'I dig Incubus ' contest has ended last week, when the members of the band announced the winners. The contest consisted in making a videoclip for the song 'Dig', from their last album 'Light Grenades'. About 100 videos from 18 countries were sent and only 5 finalists were selected and from those 5, the band would choose their favorite one (which was going to be the official video) and the fans would choose their favorite one too. Browsing the Web, I've found this video of Evanescence playing Zero, a cover of The Smashing Pumpkins, in Rock-am-Ring 2004. Ben Moody had already left the band and was replaced by Terry Balsamo. Terry is doing a great work with the guitar in this song and so the drummer. It's really an awesome performance.Below is a show of The Smashing Pumpkins in Brazil in 1996 (the 27th of January) with the original line-up. Una vez más, se demostró que acá en Perú no hay empresarios visionarios. Las mejores bandas se pasean por el continente sudamericano, pero a Perú sólo lo ven desde el avión. Acá sólo viene RBD o Floricienta. Sudamérica ha sido visitada últimamente por Pearl Jam, Dream Theater, Slipknot, W.A.S.P., The Strokes, Placebo, NOFX, New Order, Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Slayer, Joe Satriani, Beastie Boys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Patti Simth, Fear Factory, Dio, Oasis, The Gathering y la lista continúa.¿Y acá?
