Green Day Takes Top Spot On Billboard 200!Green Day bows at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with "21st Century Breakdown," selling 215,000 in an abbreviated three-day sales week. The Reprise/Warner Bros. set saw an off-cycle release on Friday, May 15 in order to more closely align its world-wide street dates. Cam'Ron's "Crime Pays" cashes in with a No. 3 debut, selling 43,000 copies. Paul Wall's "Fast Life" enters at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 with 22,000. Roots rock singer/songwriter Steve Earle achieves the highest charting album of his career as his "Townes" set bows at No. 19 with 18,000. Esmée Denters - Outta Here [Retail ]Esmée has had one long journey to get to where she is today. From posting YouTube videos back in 06' to getting signed in 07' and now getting ready to release her debut album. First single "Outta Here" is just a preview of what great pipes this chick has, and it is currently #14 on the Dutch Top 100. As for the rest of the album she had the chance to work with some great producers such as Danja, Polow Da Don, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Tedder and Stargate. So with such great help behind her was she able to deliver a solid effort. The album is a mix of Pop, R&B with both ballads, and uptempo tracks backed up by Denters vocals the highlight of the album. Their last album was released about 5 years ago and has sold 12 million copies worldwide. With the success of "American Idiot" it's only fair that the guys took some time to get the follow-up out. First single "Know Your Enemy" has already set the tone for the rest of the album #1 U.S. Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks for a couple weeks now. As for the album they continued the rock opera style of "American Idiot" and divided the album into three acts: "Heroes and Cons," "Charlatans and Saints," and "Horseshoes and Handgrenades." As for the rest of the album with four years of no new material it's clear Eminem has a lot to say.
