Jessica Simpson - Do You Know [Retail]The past couple years have been a little rough for miss Jessica Simpson. Career wise her last album "A Public Affair" failed to make any impact and her movie "Blonde Ambition" was a straight to DVD release. So Jessica decided to change things up this time around and crossover to country music. First single "Come On Over" managed to reach #18 on the Billboard Country Chart. As for the album it turned out to be a pretty nice effort but never meets any high expectations. Her voice does suit the music well but if your not a country music fan you won't find it too pleasing. The last time they released an album was back in 1994 with "Face the Music" but around that time they were loosing their steam. About 14 years later the boys are no longer boys but men now in their late 30's. Their back at it again with a new album and an upcoming tour. Surprisingly they were able to create a fairly decent album thanks to many top notch producers (RedONe,Akon,Timbaland,etc..). It has a contemporary pop/r&b sound throughout filled with radio ready tracks. The guest appearances are a plus aswell. Michelle Williams - Unexpected [Retail ]To tell you the truth I was never really a fan of Michelle and her music. Her first two albums were both gospel albums and they did good in their genre. When I first heard lead single "We Break the Dawn" I was completely thrown off (in a good way). She made a complete 180 and decided to make a pop/dance record to give us something "Unexpected". The album turned out to be a joyful ride from begining to end never getting too crazy but hitting the right spots. It's nothing extraordinary but Michelle managed to deliver a solid crossover. Lady Gaga - The Fame [Album Review ]Recently I've been givin the oppurtiny to listen to Lady Gaga's debut album "The Fame". Universal Music Group and Akon have a big thanks from me for taking a chance on Gaga aka Stefani Germanotta. First single "Just Dance" is just a small indication to show off Gaga's ability to make a addicting pop track. The rest of the album follows related trends from bouncy dance infused songs to the hard hitting bass tracks. The album also showcases Gaga's strong point her songwriting abilities with "Again Again" and "Brown Eyes" which deffiently set her apart from many mainstream artist today. The Fame is everything you want to hear in a current pop/dance album. It's a well crafted album with addictive melodies and big chourses that will deff be worth the long wait on October 7th!(US) August 19th!(Canada)Below I leave you an album sampler, Enjoy!!
