It's also the first No. 1 album for the group, which had previously gone as high as No. 2. Its last set, 2005's "Monkey Business," bowed in the runner-up slot with a then-best 291,000. Over on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the Peas debut at No. 2 with its new single "I Gotta Feeling" while holding at No. 1 for an 11th week with "Boom Boom Pow." It's an uptempo R&B track that is rumored to contain lyrics that are suggestive of a response to rapper Eminem's song "Bagpipes From Baghdad". American Idol season 8 champ Kris Allen has been signed, as expected, by 19 Recordings, and his debut album will be licensed to Jive Records for a late fall release, the companies announced today. 19 Recordings revealed it has also signed runner-up Adam Lambert, and that, as widely rumored on the Internet, his debut album will be licensed to RCA Records for a fall release. Lastly 17 year-old Allison Iraheta signed a deal with 19 Recordings, who will release her debut album through Jive as well. Only bespectacled second runner-up Danny Gokey remains unsigned. She was very successful and even Will.I.Am released an album but it wasn't as successful. After working on this album for some time now the Peas decided to release "Boom Boom Pow" as their first single. Proving that there here to stay it has remained #1 for eight weeks now. As for the rest of the album what you can expect is one big party album. There is much to dance too as they mix hip-hop with electronic, and soulful sounds. The album has it's ups and downs but overall it's a fun listen. In time I know many of the songs will grow on me just like the ones that have leaked have.
