Jens Lekman - Night Falls Over Kortedala
2007-09-08 08:37:00 This is great! I was waiting a good album to write a concerned blog post. Believe me, doing a blog writing even if you have no desire is something you can't stand for. When i hear a new great record, the words flow that way. You love talking about something worthy, this is what i inspired writing... [[ This is a content summary only. 2007-09-04 09:12:00 I wanna write here a comment that i like a lot from a reader on my "10 Greatest British Album Ever" post. I don't know, he's right about on what's he believes in, music which is so relative! here comes a small part of that comment: 'If I had to choose one album to define the soundtrack of my life,... Beirut - The Flying Club Cup
2007-08-31 17:15:00 Honestly, i want to spread nice words about all artists which work hard to release these nice songs. However, there are some songs that sound quite better than the others. Gulag Orkestar was a great record even if it's not a perfect one. The Flying Club Cup is the upcoming second album by Zach... [[ This is a content summary only. Band of Horses - Cease to Begin
2007-08-29 19:00:00 Melodic indie rockers Band of Horse s returned with a new song, and it asks Is There a Ghost? I think the new record will be great, because if you liked the new song at your first listen, then it can't be that good. You should love the song by every new spin. 2007-08-27 18:11:00 I know that i'm very picky when it comes to music, but it's really hard finding good new music. We're losing the art, or the art is not enough for people now. Manu Chao - La Radiolina
2007-08-25 14:29:00 Some European music can be really good for trips. Manu Chao 's music is one of them which heavily influenced by English punk acts like the Clash. Apparat - Walls
2007-08-19 18:37:00 While there are a lot of songs that could be described as soundtracking a nonexistent film, this actually feels like it, strings and a handclap beat creating a pitch-perfect atmosphere to the end of a romantic movie. Okkervil River - The Stage Names
2007-08-10 18:54:00 What's gotten into Okkervil River ? While the band has always been basically the vehicle for the songs and musings of frontman Will Sheff, their formless approach--somewhere between indie rock, emo, and roots music--has always tended to be a too-middling, too-pensive, and an altogether too-tasteful... John Vanderslice - Emerald City
2007-07-08 16:31:00 A fan of Led Zeppelin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Kinks, and Southern rock when he was a child, taking the power of his songwriting from David Bowie, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, King Crimson, XTC, and early Genesis, John Vanderslice has released five studio records by now. New record Emerald City (out July 24) is a lovely album while resting on seaside (believe me i tried this). Moreover it's a great choice for a sunny, beautiful Sunday. He is developing well-educated pop sound, and i recommend his Cellar Door record. If Cellar Door (2004) is ok for you, then you should listen to the other records of him. Musically, the songs from Emerald City are clean, nice and easy to get. They are fueled by an era of deep insecurity and paranoia; they develop in front of a backdrop of ritualized and mythologized current events. Lyrically, John Vanderslice 's characters and storytellers track Manifest Destiny from burning wagon wheels to two-bedroom homes with full amenities in Bakersfield, C... More About: Slice
Julian Cope - You Gotta Problem With Me
2007-07-04 18:17:00 You Gott a Problem With Me, Julian Cope 's first new album for 18 months, he addresses such currently controversial issues as religion, misogyny and homophobia, corporate greed and the destruction of Mother Earth. Released across two 28-minute-long CDs. A obscure record that needs time to get, mostly a depressive shit. It becomes very hard to go on tolerating middle-aged artists. He loves The Doors, Scott Walker, Tim Buckley and other weird names like Pere Ubu - That's for sure. Julian Cope needs to make music in his own form, because i smell of The Doors on every song on this record. Dark Orgasm was hard to stomach. You Gotta Problem With Me is better than Dark Orgasm. It's a good thing, though.Julian Cope - Sick LoveSimilar artists:Robyn Hitchcock & The Venus Three - Ole! TarantulaEcho & the Bunnymen - Crocodiles
Kula Shaker - Strangefolk
2007-06-26 15:55:00 After 6 years of silence, Kula Shaker returns with Strangefolk' consists of 13 new songs. When someone says Kula Shaker, you remember their well-known hit 'Tattva' and nice debut "K" (1997), but their brilliant live performances are other goods why they're one of Britain's most exciting bands. As for the Strangefolk, it sounds as something forced, you know, you can't stand aged bands' returnings. "Die For Love" is a great rock ballad and despite clear The Beatles influence, "Fool That I Am" is their best new song in my view. However, the returning albums are not always memorable. They're returning and the record is forgettable, ironic hah?Kula Shaker - Second SightYou may also like:Travis - 3 Times And You Lose More About: Range , Tran

Elvis Presley - From Elvis in Memphis
2007-06-23 09:01:00 Elvis Presley may be the single most important figure in American 20th century popular music. Not necessarily the best, and certainly not the most consistent. But no one could argue with the fact that he was the musician most responsible for popularizing rock & roll on an international level. Viewed in cold sales figures, his impact was phenomenal. Dozens upon dozens of international smashes from the mid-'50s to the mid-'70s, as well as the steady sales of his catalog and reissues since his death in 1977, may make him the single highest-selling performer in history. I just don't want to make dirty this classic record because of my broken English. I love "From Elvis in Memphis " (1969). Here comes a fascinating backup singing and never-to-be-forgotten closing track.Elvis Presley - Long Black LimousineElvis Presley - In The Ghetto (all time favorite)Other Classics:Van Morrison - MoondanceJoni Mitchell - For The Roses More About: Elvis , Elvis Presley
